Jade boulangerie in Southwark

Cafe located in middle of Lordship Lane with street parking out front and in surrounding street. Tables outside, and in front of counter and space outback. Acoustics out back not great when busy. My own experience of the food is pretty good compared to recent reviewers. Breakfast menu is really good, sourdough bread was delicious, especially dish with it toasted piled with zingy fresh avocado, pine nuts and perfectly cooked poached egg. Croque Monsieur was very authentic topped with a rich bechamel sauce. Coffee is decent and a fresh ginger and lemon tea was great. Wherever the ingredients are now sourced from, I thought the food was still good, albeit agreed not cheap, but this is East Dulwich.

B. Jade in Bkackheath and Royal Arsenal Riverside USED to be an amazing place to go and eat French patisserie made with ingredients from France , the wheat the eggs the BUTTER the CHEESE. I want to say this was before the COVID lockdown and give the excuse there, however i see tjat they have become a chain and this means Franchise and this means BOUGHT IN goods with little discernment of the ingredients and TASTE. If they do still bake all their own patisserie then they themselves are not using traditional recipes and using sub par or replacement ingredients such as Soy flour Soy protein (instead of french cheese), and god knows how little butter, ...perhaos rapeseed oil? What ever IS going on, their cheese cake has little taste of creamy cheese, or butter and heavy on the gelatine, mango/lemon topping and a thin base of soggy texture and little taste of any butter or anything diary at all. If you have ever had a "cake" from Cakebox chain of EGG and BUTTER free cakes, then I'd say the taste and the Texture of a B. JADE "cheescake" is now very comparable. Im sensitive to soya, amd was reacting soon after eating. There is no ingredients list anywhere displayed and no talk of allergens. I do not believe these cakes now- a -days are made from Basic original French ingredients (unless Soy is now an original ingredient) I almost went for the Paris Brest until i had a better look and saw NO fruit pieces inside it and a very fine atrip of cream which did not lool like FRESH cream. If youve heard of the Legend of B. JADE in the South east of London (which has franchised out over to the west of London), take it as that, it is NOW a legend, long gone. And I've not even mentioned to run down Boho trying looking style of the Royal Arsnel cafe that has peeling laminate on the wooden table. Styling Wouldn't be so bad if it was not over £10.00 for a single coffee and cake. Best off going to Cenrtral SOHO, to Etro on Compton st and pay the little extra (on £10.00) get the better service (we got the wrong tea served) and exquisite surroundings. I will not be coming back, and I'm SO glad I did take a friend to the one im Bexley and Opted for the amazingly tight squeezed but tasty food of the Italian deli Meluccis, Because I dread to think what a B. JADE flan tastes like these days!

Great time getting some good shopping in, not a supermarket in sight, all individual food shops the like of which I haven't seen since childhood. Amazing! Trip concluded with trip to Jades for late breakfast/brunch. Great selection of snacks, brunch meals, cake, pastries, all of which were reasonably priced. Most comfortable and enjoyable experience.

We are a French family and we love Jade because the cakes and bread are really authentic. We always buy at Jade and we recently bought a croquembouche wedding cake which was exquisite and everyone loved it, not only it was beautiful but also delicious, thanks to chef Daniel and Adel, their Manager and the team for their personalised attention. I highly recommend Jade Boulangerie Blackheath. Thanks

£23 for a coffee and a bacon roll, absolutely disgusting price for an average sandwich and a coffee that came after I had finished my sandwich but ordered at the same time! I had to question whether they had given me the correct bill. Even central London cafes do not charge those prices. On a positive note the staff were nice as was the restaurant interior but they really do need to look at their prices.

Quite average and disappointing for a French boulangerie. The bread doesn’t feel fresh and the patisseries are not up to standard.

Overpriced and bland cheese roll, nice bread but the cheese tasted of nothing… £6.60! Staff were friendly and coffee was good but won’t be eating there again

Cafe/bakery located half way up Lordship Lane East Dulwich, with indoor and outdoor seating for breakfast/lunch. Bakery is very good with huge selection of artisan breads, savouries and cakes. Breakfast menu is very good and all dishes are very generous..especially the breakfast pancakes!!. Worth a visit

Visited a couple of weeks after opening in East Sheen. Still having management problems along with inexperienced staff. Staff were overly attentive acting on the instructions of management and had cleared our table while we were still eating. A staff and management meeting was held in full view and ear shot of all customers. Excess staff on the floor with no dedicated function other than to duplicate each others role made for a less than relaxing visit. Being accused of not paying on leaving the premises left a sour taste. Avoid at all costs until all is resolved.

I come here every day for my studying and I love it! The staff are lovely and the food is great! Def recommend- there seating as well!

Probably the best English breakfast I have ever had. Somewhat expensive, but it’s not really an issue when you get that level of quality. My partner’s avocado tartine was equally excellent. Fantastic ingredients, beautifully flavoursome, expertly cooked. Drinks and pastries were delicious too. Friendly staff, very nice interior.

I have visited this cafe for years. The reception I get varies markedly depending on who is working - sometimes charming and sometimes totally lacking in charm - verging on surly. The cakes and coffee etc are all as per - but if you get a surly reception - what's the point?

I was looking forward to coming back here and this time I had time to assess what I liked / did not like. Coffee - ok, Pain Au Raisin - Ok, could have been fresher. Generator noise in 'nice' patio area - not good. Also a bit of clutter here Table and chairs - could do with a revamp (inside at least) Ok for a stop over coffee

Nice place. Coffee and cake very good. Staff and service excellent. The reason it’s an average score is additional cost for items like a different milk with coffee and cost for eating in (it’s something that should change post Covid)

A cute french cafe with lots of lovely pastries and baked breads.Unfortunately, they don't concentrate on cooked breakfasts with the same enthusiasm. I had eggs florentine that had watery hollandaise with wayvtoo much vinegar. I ordered a side of sausage and mushroom. £2 each. I received one sausage and one top of a portobello mushroom that was chewy and seemed deep fried. Surely not worth £2.All staff with no eye contact and quite unfriendly. This was 9:30 on a Monday morning, hardly run off their feet.Plenty of other places to choose from on the lane, save your money.

We try to go to jades every weekend not only for the amazing food but to see the wonderful manageress and staff . So welcoming and friendly . Food fabulous never been disappointed . Mainly go for breakfast . And cakes are beautiful .

Después de realmente desear visitar a Jades con nuestra familia que había estado muchas veces antes, realmente nos decepcionó. Desayunamos cinco adultos y un niño. 2 adultos tenían huevos escalfados y 2 huevos Benedict. Horrible. Tostadas sin mantequilla, los 8 huevos cocinados y prácticamente sin salsa holandesa. También no muy caliente. Los cafés también eran cálidos y Luke tomaba años y uno era olvidado. Otro cliente pidió que le pusieran el café en el microondas para calentarlo.

The food is wonderful and the service very friendly. We go every Monday for brunch. Love it! My husband and friend enjoy it too. My friend says the vegetarian breakfast is superb!

Metimos en un rápido americano y un sandwich. Por suerte no tenia prisa como sándwich mientras un pequeño tomó la agradable caballero aunque joven que llegó con el café dijo que estaba en camino. Café bien pero he tenido mejor localmente, pero entiendo que esto es a gusto personal. Yo creía que el sándwich blt pedí iba a ser simplemente eso, pero cuando llegamos había sido tostado (no me preguntaron si requiere que o no) y tostar lechuga nunca es una buena idea. Bastante bueno y agradable, con un poco de ensalada (tenía un vestidor que de nuevo me pareció que debería haber sido mencionado). Me siento sonar pernickety pero como hay tantas tiendas café localmente uno pensaría que estos pequeños detalles debe hacerse correctamente.

We visited the Jade simply for morning coffee, but were tempted by their amandines and florentines, which were equally delicious. On a sunny day, it's a nice place to sit and watch the world go by.

My friend and i enjoy sundy breakfast at Jade. French croissants, bread and cakes .the price is quiet expensive but worth it.

Me quitó a almorzar y tengo que decir que fue una delicia. Tuve huevos revueltos sobre una tostada y no tenía ni idea de que podía ser tan delicioso! Perfectamente cocinado, presentado en precioso tostado sourdough. Luego tuve un florentino y una pantalla en blanco. De nuevo, impecable.

One my favourite places to grab breakfast if I'm in Dulwich. They make the best pancakes ever!!! They have a great selection of cakes, sandwiches and soups.

Fuimos por primera vez a este café a unos hace 12 meses y fueron tomadas por los espejos, así que siempre es un lugar conocido como el maquillaje. Nunca nos hemos sentido decepcionados, gran servicio y buena, sin alborotos, también tucker Si estás en el señorío de Lane, bien merece una visita. El personal es en la bola de aquí y volveremos. Called at the Blackheath cafe for afternoon coffee. What a find, spoilt for choice quiches and cakes all so attractive and tasty . Good luck in the bake off ! Would not hesitate to visit again

Very pleasant breakfast on Sunday in East Dulwich. I had Croque Royale, which has smoked salmon, delicious. My friend said her omelette was very good. Worth a visit.

Lovely spot in the heart of East Dulwich - good coffees, delicious pastries, but well worth a detour for their fantastic, hearty breakasts!

I went here while visiting my daughter,s for the day.We walked past lots of little cafe,s but this one seems to have stood out more.We sat inside @ the front,we could have sat outside . We had our order taken very quicky,we order French Toast, Egg Benedicte,Avocado Feta Tartini,Drinks 1 OJ & 1 Hot choc Total Bill £25.15.yes we would go here again. Lovely bread & cakes to buy..yes we will call again .

Conocimos a unos amigos que tienen niños aquí. Éramos cuatro adultos y cuatro niños. El desayuno era bueno. La comida era deliciosa. Afortunadamente no era café amargo. Pensé que mi marido francés era voy a comprar el pan en el camino fuera!!! En general, un buen desayuno de domingo entre amis!
