The place looks like a standard coffee bar. Nothing particularly unique that I could see.(in contrast to JAÇS) Average toasted sandwich with odd/frosty service from the 'chef'/sandwich presser. With so many funky cafes opening up in Amersham to choose from one might like to crack a smile for everybody's benefit.

Since it opened, Jacs has consistently provided Amersham's residents with excellent coffee and fresh food. The owners and staff are friendly and take great care of their products and customers. There's always good music playing and an interactive 'world cup' favourites quiz on the wall. It's where my kids want to go for their hot chocolate and banana bread because they know they're supporting a local, independent business. Best coffee in Amersham.

We discovered jacs when we popped in for coffee and cake one day while waiting for a bus. Their coffee is the best in the area! It is strong, without being too strong and has a really delicious flavour. The cakes were also above average but the coffee steals the show. I recommend this place highly.

Just eaten a hummus and avocado sandwich on seeded sourdough bread. It was so delicious that I had gobbled it up before I could take a photograph. Sorry ! I love the way Jacs serve tea, perfectly brewed in an ingenuiTEA with the timer set for you. No bitter brews here And love it when you place the pot onto your cup - very theatrical! Coffee is always great here as well. Staff and customers are all lovely and friendly. I highly recommend a visit.

As a family, we are partial to the independent coffee shops and it seemed rude not to go in, simply because we were passing and hungry. Excellent choice of breakfasts, including gluten free bread. Poached eggs and hollandaise sauce were my choice, mushrooms on toast my husband’s choice. We will have to go back to reverse the order. Don’t be put off by first appearances as it looks tiny from the outside - plenty of space at the back.

Ordered an espresso to take away. It was so bitter I had to dump it. I drink a lot of espresso and know my stuff, this was unpleasant. No crema to speak of and made in a hurry.

Excellent coffee, cakes and sandwiches from this very special independent cafe. Today I had the hummus and avocado toastie, delicious. On a previous visit I tried the goats cheese, fig chutney, rocket on rosemary and olive bread, what a winner.

My favourite cafe in Amersham, a lovely friendly independent place with the best coffee locally by far! The teas are also amazing. My daughter and I go there often as she loves their smoothies and bacon sarnies! There's loads of extra seating in the back room with some toys and books for kids and adults alike. Simple delicious food well executed, with vegan and vegetarian friendly options, the avocado and hummus sandwich is gorgeous.

I have to start by saying how much I like Jacs. I love having an independent coffee shop on my doorstep owned by someone who is clearly passionate about his place and offerings. The coffee and tea are great, as are the cakes and pastries. However, please, please, please deep clean your bathroom. Whilst the toilet is clean, the sink and walls need a good scrub. All of your facilities are important to customers and this small action will make a great difference. Thank you.

Over a year and now a firm part of the landscape. How nice to be able to support someone who is passionate about what he does (that's Pete). Coffee is great, miles better than the chain-store rubbish elsewhere in town. The staff are fun, the place is fun. Come and support this independent place!

Enjoyed a great lunch at Jacs today. Excellent bacon sarnies, coffee, tea and amazing cakes and flapjacks. Much, much better than anything we would have got at one of the chain coffee shops round the corner. Friendly staff too. Glad we found it. Already dreaming of returning for another flapjack!

A little gem tucked away in between the shops on Hill Avenue, a short step from the station. Really friendly and relaxed vibe. I had a bowl of Thai curry soup that was delicious and quite the best soup I have had for a long time. A tempting selection of cakes and pastries to have with coffee. Great coffee. Highly recommended.

Delighted to see the new indie coffee shop doing well. The atmosphere isn't exactly cosy, it's always a bit cool and the music just a little too loud for my liking, but the one sofa is pretty comfy. I have spent many happy relaxed hour in here chatting with friends. Coffee is wonderful, and the cruffins amazing. Service very friendly.

I dropped to grab a takeaway coffee, ended up having an interesting chat about teas and coffees, left with a decaf latte which was easily the best I've tasted. I'll be heading back to try some of their more adventurous beverages and to see if the cakes are as good as they look ;-)

Really happy JACS has opened - have to admit my first thought was indeed why does Amersham need yet another coffee shop but was proved wrong as the coffee is the best in town in my opinion - as another reviewer has said they do genuinely care about how they make each cup. Staff also really friendly. Hope it does well!

In a town with so many coffee shops, JACS ('Just Another Coffee Shop' - good humour) stands out for the passionate commitment to coffee and tea that you won't find elsewhere. It's a pleasant space - don't ignore the comfy seating in the back - with free, reliable Wi-Fi and very friendly staff. The owner is really enthusiastic about what he does and has great knowledge of his coffee and tea.

Amazing little coffee shop popped in on the off chance. And was delighted to discover they have oat and soya milk and seeded sourdough bread with avocado, rocket, hummus and tomato (vegan) I had a coffee with oat milk and it was the best I've ever tasted. Wish they would have a vegan cake or sweet option aswell definitely recommend!

Popped in on the off chance for a coffee and was pleased and surprised to find this super new , independent Coffee shop. Serves a great range of Speciality Coffee's and tea ( some lovely looking Tea varieties I'd never even heard of ! these are served in specialty tea "brewing" pots ... and look superb. Need to go back and taste more of these. We chose the speciality "Guest Coffee" which came from the Congo. Each cup is specially prepared from freshly roasted beans, which are ground to make yr coffee (Could not get fresher !) The Coffee, served with milk in tiny individual bottles, was a really superb. Very distinct flavour coffee , more-ish too. Wish Amersham was closer by. Jacs has a good Cake and biscuits selection available (Resisted as its January !) Also resisted this time were the selection of freshly made sandwiches , all made from sourdough bread...looks very tempting. We'll have to go back and sample some more. if you care about your drinks and want to be able to sample from an extensive and unusual section of teas and some top fresh Coffee's varieties ....you really have to give this place a tryout

Cycled past many times looked v nice so decided to pop in for a drink 2 weeks ago. Barmaid v chatty good feel about the place lighting perfect candles on nice background music. You could tell the lady working cared about the business! After this visit we decided to go back last night for a meal. So different no smile or hello when walked in 2 team working just didn’t look happy actually looked like they had fallen out. Sat at table one of them brought menu then we chose a bottle of wine which was nice and came quick. We then sat there 15 mins before getting up and asking if we ordered at the bar or were they coming over.one if them came over and took the order, food came around 30 mins later. The food was ok but pies could have been bigger with more filling. After finishing nobody came and asked if we would like a dessert in the end I had to get up and ask for the bill. We then left feeling v disappointed all round. Such a nice first visit what happened why such a let down. With prices high and pub in a small village out of the way it needs to be good every time not every other for it to survive in this tough environment. Not sure if will come back again 🤔

I have eaten here a couple of times before, but it's been a few years. First, I will say, my parents enjoyed their meals. I ordered the haddock, which was overcooked, and the batter was very oily. The mushy peas had no taste and were very watery. We we given a bit of a discount but it was very disappointing. Friendly service.

We have visited Nomadic twice and I am torn on the basis of our experiences. To put it simply, first time was great, second not so. We first visited for Feast Over Fire in the summer which was absolutely superb from start to finish. We couldn’t wait to return and booked the Funghi Feast at the end of October. Unfortunately this time we left disappointed. I can’t fault the food itself, it was delicious and flavourful but the portions were undersized, the kind I would expect in a tasting menu, rather than a standard three course meal. The main course was venison which consisted of three tiny medallions accompanied by one mushroom and an onion, no carbs apart from bread available on the table. I have an average appetite and found it wasn’t enough and not great value for money. We came for 12.30 sitting. As we and other diners were still enjoying drinks and marshmallows around the fire, at 15.30 we were asked to leave quite suddenly by the host (politely and humorously, mind). This was in contrast to the first time and took us by surprise, shall we say. We had contemplated coming in December but this is now doubtful. In summary, great concept, good location, sadly value for money and consistency is lacking.

The Lytton is in a very strange location, slap bang in the middle of a retirement village. The restaurant is very stylish with tastefully panelled walls, decorated in modern grey and beige. We were here for an afternoon tea, sandwiches cakes and cream stones with earl grey tea and a couple of glasses of prosseco. I must admit this wasn't the best afternoon tea I've ever, but it was up there. The service was excellent and very attentive, the prosecco was fresh and fruity good quality. Would recomend the free flowing option. Will definitely eat here again now we have found it.
