Fantastic food - super quality and tasted great, with generous portions for the price. Lovely service from Sally!

We went to the Swan Inn for a Pub Quiz Event and found the staff welcoming, the food delicious and the quiz just loads of fun. Would recommend this place to anyone who likes food, quizes or just great vibes!

We were served by Charlie and from start to finish, were very well looked after indeed. Food was excellent and service was expectional!

Had Beef roast, which was nice but roast potatoes were very small.

Had roast beef and cauliflower cheese. Beef was tough, potatoes dry and hard. Should have sent back cauliflower cheese as there was no cheese. Slow service. Sorry won't be going back.

I like Old Amersham, all sane people do, and its hostelries add greatly to its charm. So, allowing for a lazy day and a charming lady companion also free to do nothing else, and lunch in the Swan Inn made a lot of sense. Stacks of ancient beams and well-kept beer always do it for me, but a set menu 2 course lunch for £18.95 closed the deal. If you pop by, try pretty much anything on the menu. Accompanying details of the calories involved might not suit the 'Just one leaf of rocket, please' brigade, but that's their problem. Even my slightly-built companion decided her perennial diet could take a break! In short, take the tube to Amersham, face the drive west from London, just do it!

Always an amazing choice while in Amersham. Lovely food, service and atmosphere at the restaurant! A must go if you’re around.

Had a fab meal here. Sally was amazing at accommodating our big rabble of dogs and children despite us having made the booking in completely the wrong part of the pub with the wrong amount of people!! Very quick service and delicious food

Food was fantastic (we had a roast). Lots of it - fresh, beautifully cooked and really tasty. Homemade yorkies!!!! Lovely welcoming atmosphere - really relaxed and fabulous service from Ben. Dogs were made to feel very welcome too! We’ll definitely be back!

After performing at the Beach Boy Stomp, where the Venue had no food, we found the Swan Inn staff who allowed us to order substance minutes before closing. Sophie and staff We’re non-selfish are Lifesavers! Cheers and thank you.

Visited the night before my sister in laws wedding, with her bridal party. We had a lovely evening, Charlie recommended some delicious dishes, service wasn't intrusive and well timed. We were there a long time and weren't pushed to leave before we were ready. Nice and full bellys before a wonderful Wedding day

I went to this lovely establishment yesterday for a meal and I had the most amazing time, the staff were second to none the waitress looking after our table I think her name was Charlie could not have been more helpful and had good knowledge of the food containing allergies and the house wines, nothing was to much trouble for her, the food came out piping hot and in good time, will definitely recommend and will be back to try a Sunday roast, thank you for all at the swan for a wonderful evening

Had a lovely experience in this quaintly old country pub, from the moment we walked in we had excellent service from the waitress Charlie looking after us she was very friendly, attentive and nothing was to much trouble, the food was delicious and hot, all in all a very good experience, we will be back.

Lovely place and amazing atmosphere

I recently went to the swan in after a short afternoon walk round Amersham. This was the perfect ending to a brilliant walk, the service was quick and efficient especially lola who was very attentive and strives to make my stay a special one . I look forward to my next trip at the swan.

Just had the most appalling service here for sunday roast. Took them 25minutes to ask if we wanted a drink after being seated, to have a two course meal it took them nearly 3 hours and we had to get up in the end to ask for and pay the bill! Waitress spilt a full tray of drinks and coffee over my suede shoes and stood next to the table swearing while she was clearing it up it took them a further ten minutes to bring me a cloth to wipe the drinks off my shoes and legs, two of the desserts werent as described, in the end we asked for the manager told her all of what happend and all she removed from the bill was the two desserts and it took her nearly 15 minutes to adjust the bill and didnt even bring it herself to say what discount had been given for there appaling waiting! No one in there seemed to care at all! Utterly appaling service from start to finish great shame as the roasts were absolutely delicious, if a bit more had been taken off of the bill for the terrible experience and my ruined shoes we might have given it another try but we will certainly never be back!! Other tables round us where having the same experience!

Sat in the bar, very comfy. Sunday roast was out of this world. Home made yorkies aswell. Kids very happy played out in the big secret garden after their pudding. Very busy but we were served quickly. We will definitely be back.

We choose the wine and dine offer - plenty of choice. Sally our server was particularly diligent to cater for my nut allergy. Super friendly.

Really enjoyed my chipotle chicken starter and another person ordered the cheese donuts and raved about these too!

We came for a family celebration of an 80th birthday back in February 2024 there was 12 adults and 6 children, the bill was almost £900, we was made to pay for people that didn’t arrive x 2 , we was put upstairs out of the way because we had children with us , the food was basic and We want you to know that we all compare this experience as the worst we have ever had , we would have preferred to get fish and chips from a takeaway, You charge Michelin star prices for pub grub and a poor atmosphere

We celebrated my parents' 50th wedding anniversary... A table of 12! Our waitress Sally was amazing! Fun and welcoming and a great host for the evening. The food was incredible too . The bar has a huge selection of beers and drinks

A really lovely pub & restaurant - lots of tables inside and out nice bar area with seating upstairs and down - food was amazing - plenty of good ales and wine too - will definitely go again soon 🍻🍷🥗🍱😊😊

Food was lovely. Credit to the chefs. It was a shame about the service. The restaurant was so quiet - With 4 tables, and still waiting 10-15 minutes for a drink. Had to go up to the bar and order our own. Could be a great place if they improved on service and customer care. They turned away a table of 5 of walk ins even though it is super quiet. I imagine they couldn’t be arsed. Poor for a Sunday and a bank holiday!

Service was excellent, we had Sally who was really attentive during our meal. We had a really lovely meal on a Tuesday night and the atmosphere was still nice. Beautiful building - only thing that lets it down is the toilets could use some refurbishment and updating.

We were a party of 6 and while the food was ok the service was slow and we got our meals one at a time leaving us all starting our meals at different times to prevent our food from going cold. Whilst the staff were lovely and helpful they seemed inexperienced. We had to ask for cutlery and napkins and retrieve our own condiments. We were also disappointed with the general state of the toilets this was not good and needs to be addressed.

Excellent lunch for 6 of us on Sunday. I had the Sea Bass because it was too hot for a full Sunday roast, and it was very tasty. The pear with chocolate sauce was good but not enough sauce! The staff were all very friendly and efficient. Would definitely come again if I was in the area. Deducted 1 star because the toilets were a little disappointing.

The only place serving food at this end of the town after 6 pm on a Sunday. I had a roast which was good. I wouldn't call it gastro more homely with good portions. They have unfiltered Lucky Saint on draught which is a bonus.

Fantastic scallops and sticky chicken, followed by fillet steak that was truly superb. Compliments to the chefs! Highly recommended.

Nice place been before many times. Great location and venue. Called in for lunch, chose to sit outside. Decided to order online, paid the tip upfront on the phone. Food and drinks delivered promptly. Servers had to walk past cutlery twice to deliver food and said get your knives and forks over there. Service I guess not included. Pizza was burnt and steak was OK but not worth the money. Then ordered kids ice cream and had to chase it after 10 minutes, appreciate its not long but we were the only ones eating and there were more staff in premises than patrons. I was surprised as while we sat 4 or 5 tables were left full of plates and glasses for the duration of our stay. I guess they were very busy before we arrived.

Nice pub in a nice setting. We ordered 3x fish and chips and were disappointed. There was substantially more batter than fish, which was a very thin fillet. For the price paid, you'd have expected something as least as decent as the local chippy.

It was the second time we attended a wake there and it is a friendly welcoming place to gather. The one reservation was that the lady's loo was in bad condition. I used the handicapped one and that was fine.

I visited today for Sunday lunch and unfortunately, it was quite a disappointing experience. I ordered the panzanella salad for £17.50, and it looked incredibly sad. The salad was made with wilted pea shoots, brown cabbage, and old salad tomatoes, making it far from appetising. Additionally, I ordered a side of dauphinoise potatoes for £4.50, but it was barely two mouthfuls of food. The service was slow, and to top it off, there was no staff available when we were leaving, so we couldn’t even address our concerns in person. Overall, I was very disappointed with both the quality of food and the service. I won’t be returning anytime soon.

The food was quite good, although service was a little slow. My sea bass was cooked well and the accompaniments were tasty. MIL enjoyed her mushroom pizza. We came early for dinner, at around 17:30. We were under the impression that the pub was booked to capacity, as the host told that we’d only have 45 minutes to eat. That was fine for us, although as mentioned previously, the food took a while to come out, so perhaps they need to reevaluate how long it will take for their tables to be freed. 45 minutes later, the pub was hardly filled. We thought it was a bit strange.

Great food, and very excellent staff especially Sally who was very helpful to identify gluten free options. Definitely recommend coming.

Great food and service. Always worth a trip and great for people with dogs! Update: went today for lunch and service has gone very downhill. Asked for the rest of our food to be taken away however the staff threw the food away. Additionally some of the staff were very rude. Won’t be coming back

First time visit had mid afternoon Sunday lunch (trio option). One of the best I've ever had, Good service not waiting too long as most of early lunch crowd had already left.

Food was cold, no sauces were supplied. Last time we used the Swan, everything was spot on, but this time it was sub standard, so will probably not use again. To top it off, Just eat were even more useless at resolving any issues.

Fantastic from start to finish. Never had a veggie roast where it looks as though the chef fully understand veggie food. Beef roast duo was immense and great list of wines available. Good service from a young team. Plenty of manners which was nice! Best roast in the area by far.

We went to the pub for a function in the upstairs area. The food was very nice and the function room was great for your functions The actual pub was buzzing and we are definitely going back to the pub

This is a really good place to have a Sunday lunch. The food was excellent and the prices very reasonable. I tried the trio of roasts with chicken, beef and pork and all were excellent. Only downside was they allow smoking in the eating patio outside so if that bothers you then dine inside.
