Took my wife and little daughter to the restaurant for the lunch. It was lovely atmosphere, food was great and service was excellent. Will go again next time. Beautiful place and will be more beautiful in summer.

The Lytton is in a very strange location, slap bang in the middle of a retirement village. The restaurant is very stylish with tastefully panelled walls, decorated in modern grey and beige. We were here for an afternoon tea, sandwiches cakes and cream stones with earl grey tea and a couple of glasses of prosseco. I must admit this wasn't the best afternoon tea I've ever, but it was up there. The service was excellent and very attentive, the prosecco was fresh and fruity good quality. Would recomend the free flowing option. Will definitely eat here again now we have found it.

My friend and I took her sister for an Afternoon Tea at Lytton Dene this afternoon. The pictures shown on Facebook are very different to the presentation we received - that was the first disappointment considering this was a birthday present to her. The greeting from the young waiter was less than impressive and we were vaguely shown to our table. We were not asked about preferences or allergies (of which I actually have!). To be fair, the food was very tasty, especially the sandwiches- my favourite! I kindly asked if it would be possible to have a little more sandwiches and was told (without hesitation) no! We have been to various establishments for afternoon tea and this is normally offered. We had to ask to have more coffee and tea and actually had to ask again to get it. Sorry Lytton Dene, you really disappointed us and as a result, cannot recommend you to my friends and family - that upsets me. Please try to be more attentive to your customers and maybe pander to their whims a bit more. That said, the smaller waiter with glasses provided a much more professional and friend service and actually gave us a few more biscuits as we had to wait so long for our drinks refills. We witnessed other guests receiving a much better service. I normally give 5* reviews.

It is difficult to get to as it is in the middle of the countryside within a complex of luxury homes for seniors. The place couldn't be quieter. High tea has everything it should have. The spectacular macarons. The attentive service. And the landscape according to the site. Quiet and relaxing. The interior is impeccably decorated and the exterior has comfortable tables and chairs with large umbrellas.

Today was our 3rd visit. Staff are lovely but the were rushed off their feet with the residents. As a member did not feel this time as welcome. The beef was just awful it was undercooked and tough. Shame we all left most of it. I did mention it to staff but no real response. Hope next time is better.

Very up and down review for a very mixed evening meal. Buckle up and settle in for this one folks. The Service Quiet disappointed initially as looked forward to a good meal at what was supposed to be a good restaurant. Despite there only being three tables we had to chase our drinks orders and track down waiters. Turns out there were only three front of house staff on a Saturday! I think two of them were not old enough to drink and the other barely. They were clearly in over their head but to their credit their initial look of panic everytime I chased an order turned into dogmatic calm as they scurried around as best they could given lack of experience and short handedness. The Food Great! I was of course concerned at this time. No staff and children manning the bar! what is the kitchen going to be like? Fortunately the kitchen churned out very good food in a timely manner. It was enough to allow our party to relax and enjoy the tea generiously spilling out of a pot onto the floor as the waiter hurried with a pot at a downward angle. Excellent steak, cooked as we asked, good chips and a superb eton mess that could feed the 5000. The other guests If the story ended there all would be fine. Alas, the restaurant seems to have unwittingly parked itself in a retirement home. The other guests clearly habited close by and frequented the restaurant frequently. This lead to an Octagenarian couple to be furious with our table. We had an 8 year old, a 6 year old, a 3 year old and two babies. The couple evidently could not handle such abundance of youth leading to them shouting rude things, and accused us of not being able to control out children and claiming to have spoiled their evening. I would mention that we were there first and it was quiet empty in there so could have any number of talbes further away. The unfortunate upshot was it ruined almost ruined the whole evening. We suspect the restaurant wants families to visit it but may want to warn the people born in the Victorian era that they may have to suffer laughter nearby and that children now do come to meals as opposed to being locked in cupboards. The staff did a very good job of trying to calm everyone down I must add.

We had afternoon tea today. Our waiter was very pleasant. The food was lovely, however it was a shame not to be offered more tea or coffee during the time we were seated. We choose to sit outside after our food and enjoy the glorious grounds. I purchased a round of drinks at the bar. I paid for these immediately. I was therefore a little irritated when we came to leave to be shouted at across the room was I planning on paying my bill for drinks before leaving! I stated I had already paid to which the bar person shrugged her shoulders and said ok. Some what perturbed by this I decided to check the payment had gone through and went back to the bar to show my banking app receipt as proof to which I was told they had found it but thanks anyway. No apology for the unnecessary way I was spoken to. Something of a tarnish on what had otherwise been a lovely afternoon.

Lovely setting But for the negatives… We arrived for afternoon tea today , the restaurant was empty. We were seated at a table which was not laid? We were not presented with a menu of the different options of tea and a menu of the fillings of sandwiches, we had to ask the waiter, who was clueless , he had to keep going to find out and ask. The tea arrived which was a t- bag , not loose Teas. I had a herbal tea, that was a cheap herbal T -bag😕 The food arrived, which was quite nice We wanted a tea and coffe refill, we had to go to the bar to ask, as no one came to ask if we wanted refills? Once finished I wanted to pay with a £50 note , to be told they do not accept £50. Considering the bill was £42 , this day and age I cannot understand why it was not accepted,? u have certain procedures to follow to check they are not fake, do u not? The service was bad, considering it looks a luxurious setting. Disappointing as this was a Mother’s Day treat And not cheap 😢

We went for afternoon tea with work colleagues. One issue was nowhere to park and being winter on a rainy winter afternoon had a fair walk to the venue. We had 2 vegetarians the options were cheese cheese and more cheese re sandwiches. Although we were told we had limitless tea and coffee we weren't checked on to see if we wanted a top up and had to keep asking. All in all lovely settings and venue.. reasonably priced but not the greatest variety re cakes and sandwiches.

My wife and I recently found this restaurant on Bookable. We lived locally and wasn’t aware it even existed; we were not disappointed. We were greeted at the bar by smiley Waitress and offered a cocktail of the cocktail menu. They have just launched the Spring menu which looked really appetizing. I went for the salmon and the Lamb and my husband Risotto balls and the Hake, the food was well seasoned and very tasty. Just before we had finished the Chef came out and chatted to the tables which was nice, Barry or Baz as he asked to be called even told us he previously worked on the set of James Bond! After dinner we relaxed in the Bar, it was quiet but so cozy. We will return for our next date night.

Lovely afternoon spent here catching up with friends having Afternoon Tea. Very basic tea (only one type), lovely sandwiches & good choice of scones & cakes. Seated in a small separate side lounge, which was very cosy. Service just about right in that it was attentive enough without being intrusive. Very reasonably priced & no pressure for a tip. One thing though, was that there was no mention (when booking) that the venue was a Retirement Village so pleasantly surprised.

I have eaten here a couple of times before, but it's been a few years. First, I will say, my parents enjoyed their meals. I ordered the haddock, which was overcooked, and the batter was very oily. The mushy peas had no taste and were very watery. We we given a bit of a discount but it was very disappointing. Friendly service.

We have visited Nomadic twice and I am torn on the basis of our experiences. To put it simply, first time was great, second not so. We first visited for Feast Over Fire in the summer which was absolutely superb from start to finish. We couldn’t wait to return and booked the Funghi Feast at the end of October. Unfortunately this time we left disappointed. I can’t fault the food itself, it was delicious and flavourful but the portions were undersized, the kind I would expect in a tasting menu, rather than a standard three course meal. The main course was venison which consisted of three tiny medallions accompanied by one mushroom and an onion, no carbs apart from bread available on the table. I have an average appetite and found it wasn’t enough and not great value for money. We came for 12.30 sitting. As we and other diners were still enjoying drinks and marshmallows around the fire, at 15.30 we were asked to leave quite suddenly by the host (politely and humorously, mind). This was in contrast to the first time and took us by surprise, shall we say. We had contemplated coming in December but this is now doubtful. In summary, great concept, good location, sadly value for money and consistency is lacking.

We came across this pub on a wintery Sunday exploring the area. We had 2 roast porks that were cooked to perfection, lots of veg and potatoes to fill our hungry bellies. A proper country pub with great food and great prices. Highly recommend!
