Izgara Restaurant in Barnet

I recently dined at izgara, a Turkish restaurant, and it was an outstanding experience. The food was exquisite, with a wide array of flavorful dishes that truly captured the essence of Turkish cuisine. From the succulent kebabs to the aromatic rice pilaf, every bite was a delight. The service was top-notch, with attentive staff who were knowledgeable about the menu and eager to ensure a memorable dining experience. The ambiance was charming, with traditional Turkish decor and soft lighting that added to the overall atmosphere. Me and my Wife visited IZGARA in Edgware, Top Notch, We really enjoyed it, Food was Superb, Great Service, Food was Served Fast and Fresh and not to mention the Decor and Ambience was Spot on. Nothing Bad to say. You have to give it a try.

Slow service. Forgot our order a couple of times. Better places available.

Food arrived quickly but overcooked. Had hot meze starter platter. Falafels and fritters were hard and soaked in oil, sausage pieces chewy, whole thing completely unsatisfactory. Took plates and declined anything else so waiter proceeded to clean table. Felt uncomfortable like we should leave and were given bill. If the starter was anything to go on, would not order an overpriced main.

Very nice place as usual. Food was good, staff was helpful and friendly. Great atmosphere but noisy. Good for birthday parties, celebrations etc.

I order from here regularly but today the Bulgar Rice was very dry and bland! If I wanted plain rice I would have ordered it! For the price you charge Igzara, your food should at the very least have flavour!

Used to be one of the best places in Edgware ,now I saw some Europeans ladies working there in despicable leggings …like they own the place ,i got the eyes rolling for daring to ask for a empty glass …loud music ,didn’t recognise the language ,not my cup of tea anymore.Sad really ..amazing food and the Turkish ladies working there,well done ,amazing job.Owner should prioritise family restaurant not club.

The food was good but was overcooked. Excellent service and very nice decor but a little costly.

Went to a large birthday party held here (bout 15-20 people I think - 2 large tables), all other tables in the restaurant were full too. Another birthday being at another table. It was very busy on Saturday, and very popular. All the staff very friendly. Shared the hot meze, though vegetarian option was available, and food was very good and very plentiful.

Fantastic ambience and spacious tastefully decorated interiors with a unique menu that will get your taste buds tingling! Highly recommended! Will be back again!

We come here often from Bristol. We had relations from York. We went as a group of 9. The staff looked after us so well.Eray was pleasant and wonderful at looking after us. The starters were tasty and reasonable portions. Main dishes just as good. We love the location and all the staff here.

The food was gooooood, and I wished i could have more 😄 Loved the humus! The music was a bit too loud at a time but if you’re not chatting a lot, it’s easy to just ignore. Easy to locate as its just off the high street and the customer service was good.

Delicious food and the open atmosphere is nice, big windows, open space. The service is absolutely a disaster, expect to be moved from your table with no right to refuse if other more important people come.

Ordered take away, Chicken Shish came at £17 for 6 pieces (cold and average size), Meze platter is supposed to come with about 5 dips at £13, This dips are all semi liquid and supposed to be in a container with compartments, to keep them separate, They were all put together in one plastic container and when they arrived they were all mixed up like a smoothie and looked gross and went straight into bin The bread was cold and hard plasticky, At this prices and for a local very average restaurant, extremely disappointed, the delivery was in about 10 minutes, so couldn’t have got cold in transit, maybe leftovers? So disappointed that I had to write this review.

Good value 2 courses Lunch deal. Food was nice, chicken on the bone was delicious, well flavoured, juicy and succulent. Service was slow took almost 45mins for food to come out.

Visited this location after a friend had recommended it. Food was really good. Honestly, everything I tried was amazing. Fresh, well cooked and well seasoned. Atmosphere was also good, its clear they didn't try to save or take short cuts when it came to interior design and decor. The only thing they could improve on is service. Staff were a bit miserable, at these prices, you expect friendly service with a smile.

Turned up as a group of 8 adults plus 2 children at 7:30pm on a Saturday without pre booking. The waiter that we had for the evening was very polite and sorted a table for us straight away. Bread and dips were provided instantly and drinks order taken. Drinks arrived. I’d just finished pouring by beer into the glass and the waiter came with another bottle and apologised as the first one wasn’t cold enough. Fantastic service. Food order was taken. Waiter recommended to only get 2 bowls of chips for the whole table instead of everyone ordering as there would be enough, thus resulting in us not buying more than needed. Food arrived. Not a single complaint from any one of us. Delicious food. Good drinks. Great service. Highly recommend. Will definitely return if we are ever in Edgware again.

Izgara is one of our favourite restaurants to dine in! The portions are generous, and the dishes are absolutely full of flavour! The service is always quick and the atmosphere & decor is perfect! I'd highly recommend visiting.

DO NOT order delivery Missed whole meals( more than 1 occasion) Uber says call the restaurant the restaurant says uber is to blame.. but the pack the food? Rude staff,hung up on 3 times. Food cold and small portions .rice over 5 pounds would feed 1. Then deny all knowledge of order. Having to chase uber for refund Go in maybe, but don't do takeaway You'll be disappointed

We went there a few times now. everything is great and the baklava is the most amazing I've ever had. One thing that this place needs is a car park although if you are lucky you may find a spot nearby.

Over the last few years the decor, furnishings and layout of this place has been improved tremendously. And the food, epecially the Shish Kebab remains excellent.

Restaurant with fantastic ambience in Edgware. The food is of very high quality and tastes good. There is good vegetarian choice as well. The staff are friendly but if the place gets busy then you need to grab their attention. Avoid ordering the mushroom dolma as they give you just one mushroom. All the other people's food was filled up and the mushroom plate was empty despite being the most expensive vegetarian dish on the menu! The falafel, babaganoush, salads and other starters are tasty. Try the Turkish tea after the meal which goes down very nicely.

Everything was perfect. Friendly people, great food and very good value for money. We were 6 people and paid 160, including desert and drinks.

For the last 25 years this place hasn't let us down. I miss the grill in the front but the atmosphere is still great. Food quality and quantity are the best. Keep it up guys you are amazing

This was the first occasion for a while for a visit and, yet again the premises look to have been upgraded. And the food and service were of the usual high quality

was ordering via uber eats but called up first to ask how many wings in a portion and was told 5 full wings - only received 4 which worked out to £5 per wing! still hungry so I will now go to my local peri chicken shop and get 5 more wings for £5...

Came on a Saturday afternoon. It was quiet and food was delicious! Drinks were also superb with great alcohol content. Customer service was lovely. Would definitely recommend here.

Delicious food However... Update 06.01.2023 Ordered online... Price didn't match and asked me to pay 8£ extra Bad experience Update : after that I went to the restaurant and the food and the service was great. As I go there often I prefer to change my review but keep the previous experiences too.

Amazing place. Always welcoming. Food is served very quickly. Staff attentive. I have visited once last week with my daughter and came back again this week with mum mum. Probably one of the best places to dine in Edgware.

Service was very friendly, intelligent, not the most attentive or quick, but also not reeally slow. Go here when you're relaxed and happy to take time. Really tasty, beautiful atmosphere. Expensive, but probably worth it. My partner's meat dish went down really well as did my vegan one. My partner and I did have a stomach upset a day and a half after being here, not sure if it's related, but we eat vegan normally, there isn't much that would make us sick most of the time and we went nowhere else.

I organized dinner for a group of 19 ladies. Management were great with the booking process even though numbers kept increasing! Food was delicious and more so the efficiency of the staff who were always on hand for drinks orders etc. Didn’t rush us and all friendly and patient. Had a fun night highly recommend

Was there with my family ordered the family platter and extra other portions. The food is very expensive and they derive very little for a family platter there was rice and bulgur just for one person. It says for 4 people the service is not good was eating for our drinks and had to order extra rice which costed 20£ for a small bowl. Not value for money. Better go to a place where they serve enough for what you pay. I guess all money goes to their decorations :/. Will not recommend to anyone with family and children.

My family and I visited this afternoon for a lunch get together. Very clean restaurant and welcoming team members. The Turkish bread was fresh and warm accompanied with a hot chilli sauce and garlic side. The falafels were delicious. Crispy and soft in the middle with a lovely fresh salad. We had chicken shish too that was cooked to perfection. Lovely moist texture. Aubergine dish was great too! Unfortunately we did not stay for dessert but the options looked great. Thank you for a lovely afternoon with delicious, fresh and tasty food!!

A little boring if you are not in the mood

Lovely place and before you dismiss "all these Turkish restaurants are the same", this one is far nicer, classier and feels like a proper restaurant first that happens to be Turkish, if you know what I mean... Excellent food, cooked to perfection and the chili 🌶️ and garlic 🧄 dips were far better than all the others we've tried before. So if you are craving Turkish with a touch of class then this place will certainly meet and probably exceed your expectations.
