Great food at great prices - demonstrated by being pretty full early on a Wednesday evening! Fantastic menu with plenty of choices for everyone; everything we had was cooked perfectly

What Can I say But Wow!!! We chose to have an alternative Christmas Day dining experience this year and Boy We were not disappointed. Everything was Spot on. Ambiance, food, price and the staff were absolutely amazing. Such a lovely friendly place. We eat here alot and have never had a bad meal. The best Curry House in Uttoxeter without a doubt. We will most definitely be booking in for next Christmas Day.

I have been eating at the Ivory Cafe for over 2 years, not once have I eaten there and had a poor meal, the food is always full of flavour and fresh, equally the staff are amazing and friendly!

Excellent meal. This is the second time we have dined here and this was just as good, if not better than the last time. The service was excellent and the food was exceptional, piping hot, really tasty and good portions. Brilliant. Can’t wait to come back but we live on the south coast!

Whilst staying 4 nights in Uttoxeter, we met a local who suggested we try the Ivory Cafe. We then visited with friends and enjoyed a very tasty meal so much so that we returned again on our last night.

Lovely staff and piping hot, tasty food. Had mixed kebab starter, chicken dupiaza and the house special curry. All marvelous.

Have ordered around 20 take away meals since beginning of the year every one arrived hot and exactly what was requested. Some orders were for 2/4 people on 3 occasions for 6 people Excellent quality and delicious tasting food

Visited recently, brilliant service yummy food. Food was hot and spicy just the way I like it and the service was very attentive but not intrusive. Brilliant night definitely recommended.

Arrived at this restaurant initial impression was good, sadly this is where it ended. Beer had a strange taste to it. Starters ordered and arrived fairly quickly. Plates dirty and on opening napkins containing cutlery discovered hairs and dirty fork, on looking around the floor it was filthy dirty and made my partner feel physically sick, main course arrived and again offered filthy plates with dried food on them. Given the current climate all of this was shocking and we at this point objected asked for the bill. Despite my complaint full payment was demanded which we reluctantly had to pay and left. We have reported this restaurant to the local council and trading standards. PLEASE AVOID!!!!

Treated by my friend for my birthday and we weren't disappointed. Great food and great service... Had the tandoori fish to start followed by the vegetable balti... Yummy yum yum...

Ordered through just eat, took one and half hours to be delivered on a weeknight, that was disappointing. When it arrived it was a lovely meal apart from the Popadoms being crushed.

The title says it all but to be fair it was a takeaway.Onion bhajis were ok chicken tikka masala just coconut over powering and my jai puri was ok but quite bland and not quite hot as advertised.In all and average scran but slightly over priced average scran.

Our 3rd visit and will defo return again. Visited with Hubbie...he had the Modhu Minty Lamb Aloo, said it was best curry he'd ever had! Our waiter was a young bloke...he was really friendly n smiley. Love going here for a curry...always amazing tasty food.

Saturday night 3 friends all had excellent food and service. Changed my normal meal to have 2 starters served as a main meal. Mixed kebab and butterfly prawns. Fantastic We eat here a lot and are always pleased with the food

Just the best food and as you can take your own wine it’s very reasonable best Indian for miles around. 6 times in past month

I’ve been here twice now with a large group of people, the last time was around 7 years ago so I was willing to give the place another go. Annoyingly it was just as awful as the time before. We were given 4 options of curry and a small starter with popadoms, this cost £15 per person. The curries all tasted the same, with the vegetarian option not looking unlike sick, everything had coconut in it without warnings prior and all the curries were watered down A LOT! The limited options and very poor execution was worth no where near £15 per person. Not only this, but the service was also terrible, feeling as though the waiters were rushing through the meal to get us gone with no pleasentries and not even an offer of drinks. It was genuinely difficult to get a drink at the table and easier to just go to the bar downstairs ourselves as the waiters were ignorant. I can’t speak for those who have been in smaller groups but please do not go here if you’re booking in a large group, it is probably the worst Indian in Uttoxeter and there are far better options less than a minute walk away. Please go elsewhere! Do yourself a favour and avoid this place!

I've been going to the Ivory Café for about 12 years but living 160 miles away, it's not a regular thing! My visit last week was the first in maybe 4 years. I'm pleased to say that the food is just as good as it's always been! I really enjoyed it and would not hesitate to recommend.

In October, I visited the Ivory Café with my boyfriend and a friend. It was my first time there. We started off with tasty poppadoms and dips. For my main course, I ordered the king prawn bhuna. We all enjoyed our curries and experienced friendly service. The atmosphere was fantastic. I'll definitely be returning soon :)

Awful!!! Over an hour for delivery - food was cold with no taste what so ever!! By far the worst Indian we have ever had!

Excellent menu with dishes to suit all tastes and tolerances (the chicken tikka is especially good) and an excellent choice of wines. Relaxed atmosphere and good, timely and courteous service. Very good value.

Went for a few drinks in town with a friend and decided to have an Indian at the Ivory Cafe. I must say I never ever have a bad meal here. Always very welcoming. Good draught beers. Food always excellent. Very good menu choice. Very reasonable prices and you can get 10% off with JCB discount as well. Best Indian in town by far.

It was so cold this evening that we decided to stay in and order a take away. It was a good decision. The menu of the Ivory Cafe offered us a wide choice and so we were all able to pick our favourites. Our food was plentiful, tasty and good value. We had a feast! Recommended.

have used this resteraunt a few times when visiting uttoxeter and have always had good meals and good service, not this time the meals where bland and my wife requested no onions but meal came with them, waiter said they where in the sauce that was on her lamb. staff seemed unconcerned and it looks to me that it is under new ownership.

Been coming here for as long as I can remember 9 times out of 10 they get it bang on very happy with service and food they also have gluten free which is a bonus.

Unfamiliar with the Town we decided to eat here recently after having a drink in the very busy nearby Wetherspoons. The nearby Italian restaurant couldn't fit us in, it was a busy night to be fair, so we ended up here and glad we did.

Went to the ivory café for a birthday meal. Very nice food and there was 5 people in the party and we all had something different. You can actually take in your own drinks which could save you a bit of money

Usually when I come here I can never fault the place, I ordered a take away for collection and when I got back home they gave me a different order, so I rang and they told me they would deliver me a new one and it would take 20 minutes, well it's now been 40 minutes and still no sign. I rang up ten minutes ago and they said it is on its way. Still waiting.

Excellent service, met all of our additional requirements- mine including added mushrooms & extra garlic. Staff friendly, nothing too much trouble, kids catered for, all 6 of us very happy indeed. Food tasted amazing too. Hadn't been for a while,but we'll Defoe going back soon

We visit fairly regularly for a meal both inside the restaurant and take away. I've never once had a bad meal or a complaint. The food is excellent and the staff are soo friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

I've visited the ivory cafe about 3 times in the last 2 years it's a very reasonable price the food is great, very tasty the staff are welcoming and it's a very good Indian I will definitely be visiting again!

Stayed for the Saturday racing so had Friday night meal in the Ivory Café. Third we have dined there and we have never been let down with the Quality of the meals. Prompt service and large portions. My wife has certain Allergies and as to avoid certain foods, but the waiter devised a dish for her which she said was excellent. Cobra beer on tap and plenty of dishes on the menu, attentive and friendly staff. Looking forward to dining there again when we are back in Uttoxeter.

The Ivory Café has become our 'Go to' Indian in Uttoxeter whether we are eating in or, more often, getting a takeaway. The food s invariably excellent, tasty and to our liking and the service friendly, efficient, accommodating and informed. Chicken Sagwala is a favourite as is the Jai Puri and Achari of any type.

After visiting the Ivory Cafe without fail most weeks before going to University it was great to come back here to eat after so long. The food is always nice with great staff, I tried a different curry to usual which was a bit dry but that was more a reflection of my choice and not the quality of the food being made. Overall as always a really good meal and for a good price too. Sure I will be back again some day.

We ordered a take away via just eat. Good arrived hot and fresh and just as good as if you'd had it in the restaurant. Food was delicious as always and delivered by a lovely gentleman from the restaurant.

I have been to this Indian 5 times this year and whether it be a meal in the restaurant or a takeaway, it has been marvellous. In fact, they even delivered outside their radius for me! The staff are so friendly and although on the outside it may not look the most extravagant Indian restaurant, the food is beautifully presented, the curry dishes are really nice, and the naan breads are the best bit! The english menu is also fantastic! The prices are fair for good quality food. I would recommend this to absolutely anyone and I'm going so much its making me put on weight!!! It's rekindled my taste buds for Indian food

Eat here in the evening after a Business trip. Being a "lonesome" eater can sometimes be a bit boring, but the staff were very helpful and friendlyThe food is excellent and about average price compared to other Restaurants I have been to, would certainly go back.

Dropped into here after the Uttoxeter Christmas market was a wash out. Luckily there was space up top as the restaurant was completely full downstairs. Service was polite and professional and the food was great. Everything was reasonably priced.

Chose to give place a try on a recent night out with my wife. Bit of a gamble but after reading reviews thought we would give it a go.Didn't start well as the new lad (very young) didn't know what draft beer was and served my wife a glass of undiluted squash after she asked orange juice! They apologised for that though, and everyone's got to learn though :)The food more than made up for it, we both really enjoyed our meals. We got there quite early so it was pretty empty but even so the atmosphere was nice.

treated my parents to a meal out and it couldn't have been nicer. The food was delicious, came out hot and the main followed the starter at the perfect time. After poppadoms for 3, 3 starters and 3 mains along with 5 drinks the meal was under £60 and my parents and I enjoyed ourselves fully.

This was my second visit and I've enjoyed the Ivory Cafe both times. The service is excellent, my madras was spiced and cooked to a T and the ambiance very pleasant. Parking is easy in the nearby Maltings car park which free after 6pm. Thanks to Said and all the staff :-)

Did not enjoy my meal there were no good things to say about it, to me it seemed like a piece of meat with a tub of sauce poured over it, mustard lamb this was not. Very disappointed. Service was good.

Always excellent service and food best curry house on Uttoxeter never have to order as staff choose a chefs special with the heat I like always as for heat you like and they will deliver. A must visit if you are in Uttoxeter it's just off the market square

We visited this recommended Indian restaurant on the 21s Aug 2015,we were told by friends of friends that this was one of the best Indian restaurants in Uttoxeter, we have dined in the area for many years and been pleased with the other Indian restaurants.Booking the venue was easy and we arrived on time around 7 o'clock and the welcome was pleasing and friendly, we were not impressed with the decor some what lacking a modern day feel, the drinks were delivered in good time and the meal was ordered,we did not have to wait too long for the starters that were OK but rather bland this would be the way the rest of the meal would taste, the main meals both mine and my wife's arrived and we noticed the lack of aroma from the meals even the side dish lacked any real flavour,I will not be returning but like I always say you have to try for yourself and make up your mind,I will say that there are far better Indian restaurants within a few hundred yards of this establishment.

This is my favourite Indian restaurant in Uttoxeter. We always get take always for here and have eaten in the restaurant many times. The food is really very good and the menu options are wide. The restaurant is clean and modern with good attentive service.

Fantastic Bengali restaurant, chef always makes me a special dish which is to die for, don't settlecforcthecmenu choice tell them whatvyoublike to eat ie hot cream yet and they will do it for you. Great staff always smiling great value I go every week for my fix must visit and enjoy the experience

If you are having your first Indian meal, then you can't go wrong with the Ivory Café. We took some friends along who had never tried Indian food. The staff bent over backwards to find the right dishes for them, even bringing out small portions of some curries for them to taste, We have been there quite a few times and it can't be faulted. highly recommended.

very good when it is busy as it is too quiet when there are only a few people in. the restaurant is now recently been done up as has a nice atmosphere and the food is very good and tasty. I have been a few times now and I always order something different but it always comes nice and warm and the taste is delicious no matter what you like. My favourite indian restaurant in Uttoxeter.

We are from derby and don't go to uttoxeter often. We were going to go. To the Thai at the bank house but when we got there it had closed. So we found ivory cafe parking free outside fab meal on hot plate even took food home as so much!Lovely staff food came quick and nice cobra. On tap.Well done ivory cafe we will see U again soon.

My friend and I met up in uttoxeter for a drink a few Monday's ago and decided we fancied a curry. The ivory cafe was the first we came across so decided to give it a try. It was a fairly quiet Monday evening so at 7pm we were the only ones in the restaurant but it filled up a little later on. The service was fantastic, and the food was delicious -second to none. I can honestly say it was the nicest curry I have had in years. When we finished the mango chutney it was replenished and not charged extra and the staff were very polite and courteous. The menu is fantastically priced and I can't wait to visit again - I just wished I lived closer so I could visit weekly!!

I had a take a way from Ivory Cafe last night which was really very good food indeed. The chicken jalfrezi was great and my wife's butter chicken was also very good. The saag aloo was perfect and a decent naan too. The food was hot and fresh. Full marks! Good value and friendly owners.

I enjoyed my visit to this restaurant. The menu was varied and the staff were very attentive to each persons wishes. I had a good meal and I found the staff efficient and friendly. Would return again on another occasion.

This was my second time at The Ivory Cafe. The first time around, the excellent service was let down by some overly chewy chicken but I gave them the benefit of doubt.However, I have just been back and guess what. Same again.It's a pity. The restaurant is nice, the staff attentive and friendly. But the chicken really is not great.

We had a takeaway from here and we returned home to open the curry pot to find a Beatle type bug mixed with the curry sauce so threw it all away, waste of money. Have reported it and will not return.

I had a korma, my partner a king prawn Tawa, said it was the best Indian he'd ever had, and he's has a lot of curries, including ones in India, mine was excellent, fresh ingredients, great service, clean fresh looking restaurant ........ Totally recommended

The curry was watery and quite tasteless with a naan bread that I did not even recognise as a naan. The portions in the restaurant are very small however the takeaway portions are larger. I have eaten here a couple of times and found the same thing every time, my returning visits are only because my partner is unaware of good food, doesn't like spending money and is reluctant to try new things. When it is my choice this is NEVER a place we would go to.

We use this Indian cuisine on occasion, we have sometimes found that the delivery can be rushed, therefore not always as tasty as a visit to the restaurant, but we go there nevertheless as its a good priced place to go with family/friends. Portion sizes are big, prices are very reasonable, fast delivery but prefer to eat in.

Visited Ivory Cafe last night the 6th time in as many months .curry was very good service fast & meals served hot with hot plates .The staff take time to explain dishes & ingredients .

Promised myself I wouldn't go back but having been refused at another place had little choice.Service was good enough, food equally as boring average and rubbish. Wine absolutely undrinkable, what do you expect for £3.25 a glass? Would pay double for something nicer. Plenty of king prawns in dish but no flavour at all, no difference between any of the dishes.Will definitely not ever go again.

I may be spoilt being from Birmingham but this is honestly the worst curry I've had for a while.No flavour, expensive king prawn dish! service really poor which I think is unusual for Indian restaurants. Both our meals tasted the same despite allegedly being completely different. Even the mint sauce was poor. Would not return here again.Was also up all night with an insatiable thirst and tummy cramps. Never again.

Picked up a takeaway Tuesday 12th on way to visiting family. Quick service with a smile. Excellent food the best takeaway I can remember. Still hot after 20 mins travelling and very tasty. Will certainly return for sit down when next in area and highly recommend

We are regular customers of the Ivory Cafe, either for a take-away or occasionally to eat in. The food and the servcie is always excellent and swift. The Lamb Dopiaza' Korai and Chicken Sagwala are exceptional.

I have lived in Uttoxeter for 12 years and have been using this restaurant for 11 of those years ie: the whole of its existence. I have seen it develop from the dull ex Mexican to the bright new restaurant that it is today and I go there around twice a week.I always have an excellent meal in here and Raj and his team are always friendly and welcoming. Good value for the area especially on a Sunday when they serve what is called-'Dish Dash dining'.The restaurant is licensed and they have Cobra beer on tap plus several wines and spirits. They can accommodate around 100 diners on two floors and probably occupy the best position of any Indian in the town, being located on the Market Place. Please note that the address is not in Carter Street but at 18/20 Market Place.I can highly recommend any visitors to Uttoxeter to give this Restaurant a try.

Had been to the races got out around 9pm and headed here. My wife isnt a big Indian food fan but was pleasantly suprised by this restaurant. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced too

As visitors to the town, we were going to eat at this restaurant and were directed to a table which had three of the four plates chipped. I thought at first it was the design of the plate as three of them had chips but on inspection they were just chipped. Needless to say we didn't eat here as if they have chipped plates on the table what must the kitchen be like?

The worst Indian I have ever eaten in. The service was not very professional at all. Slap dash I call it. And the meal was not to good to say the least. I ordered a mixed meal balti it was the worst I have ever had meat with mush and spice I would of called it. Also it was not the cleanest of places the waiter sprayed the table next to mine with cleaning solution and used the table napkin as a cloth. No effort what so ever had been put in the presentation of the table no flower or a nicely folded napkin it was just folded up and placed on the table, with the salt and pepper pots. I just could not wait to leave and I would NOT ever return it was awful.
