Istanbul Grill Kebab in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

March 2025: Do not order the “Mix Grill for 2”, it’s an absolute rip off. We got two pieces of undercooked chicken, 4 pieces of lamb and 2 flat beef kebabs, so called Turkish meat balls, rest of the plate was just filled with low quality, cheap gyro meat. All the entrees we ordered were flavorless, very boring and disappointing experience. If someone never had authentic Turkish food before then they might like it. There were fruit flies in the dining area, majority of the staff were Indian students, the service was okay but I think they hire students to get more work out of them and pay less, no benefits etc. This was waste of our time and money! June 2019: I decided to try this place based on the 4.6 stars. If you have never had proper authentic Turkish food you might be impressed, I suppose. But what a disappointment, service was slow even when the restaurant was not very busy. The Humus was bland and runny. I ordered the mixed grill, the food arrived stone cold, best thing on the plate was the grilled veggies and rice, didn’t like the lamb shish or the kofta kebab. I really hope these guys will put in the effort to improve.

FOOD HYGIENE concern, we had upset stomach after having dinner here. Our food was not cooked properly and when we informed the server we didn’t even get an apology, we asked for medium well and we got rare meat, even the chicken was undercooked, she took the meat back reheated and and brought it back?? The food was bland and meh. Overpriced, low quality. Never again!!

I was hungry, and was specifically looking for something like a kebab, judging by the reviews it should have been good... Unfortunately I'm disappointed, my beef kebab was absolute evil, I think the meat was spoiled, I hope I don't get indigestion.

The food and service were excellent. My issue was cost to portions. $22 for a meza platter, with 1/4 to maybe 1/2 cup portions. And $12 for a 6 piece fried cauliflower. Also the meze platter was all vegetarian. Like I said, food was good. But I can get the same things a multiple locations here in Arlington, for a better price, and better portions.

We went there thinking it was a Turkish restaurant but it has nothing to do with Turkish cuisine. It is not a restaurant suitable for Turks. I don't understand why it says Turkish restaurant. You should definitely not go there. We had mixed kebabs, the worst meal I've had in America.

A cut above ordinary! Exceptional lentil soup, shepherd salad and the hot or cold platter combos. Easy to park and very reasonably priced.

Great option in Arlington for a fancy but not overly formal dinner. We were able to meet the needs of the healthy eaters, more intimidated eater, and vegetarian. Might be my favorite falafel; not dry.

Food was good. Service was good. Our regular mediterranean hole in the wall go to place in NW Arlington closed, so we decided to try this place closer to home. Difrent vibe then what we like but overall good.

Great doner kebabs, but more importantly, perfect pizzas with plenty of topping - beats the local chain-pizza shop both by toppings and price. Would certainly recommend - they deliver too.

This is quite possibly my favorite restaurant ever! My wife and I used to live in the area and now we try to stop in every time we pass through the area. The food is superb and the owners are extremely friendly. You will not find a finer Mediterranean establishment. Did I forget to mention the baklava?!?! It is to die for!!

Pricey plate options, however, you get the portions you pay for with huge plates making it look small but it was plenty! Lamb is very tender and flavor is good. Turkish coffee and hot tea was good. Everything was fresh and service was great! Will return!

The service was friendly and quick at Istanbul Grill. It is also BYOB so you can bring in a bottle of wine and they will supply the wine glasses for you and your friends to share. The food was amazing, very flavorful and delicious.

The three of us Women’s ordered three different main dishes, and then we shared them with each other. They were delicious. Their hot tea was also very delicious. The service was very good and they kept pouring tea

This restaurant does a disservice to Turkish cuisine. Every dish we tried was of poor quality and seemed like they were cutting corners. Starting with the drinks, we ordered Turkish tea for $2.65 per cup, but it turned out to be Lipton tea brewed with unfiltered water—a clear rip-off. As for the appetizers, the babaganoush was a disaster—they completely skipped adding eggplant to the tahini. The salad tasted old, as if it had been made at least a day before. It was drowning in vinegar, with smashed tomatoes and onions that tasted like they were cooked instead of fresh. The Adana kebab was the biggest disappointment. It seemed to be made from extremely cheap ground beef; it had an overwhelming pork-like taste, was excessively fatty, and felt more like chewing on bacon than eating a proper kebab. Despite their high prices, they blatantly cut corners and rip off their customers. Needless to say, we will not be returning.

Normally, I take pictures. But the food was so delicious that I forgot! Three of us ordered the salmon Kabab, which came with jasmine rice and vegetables. The salmon was so tender and juicy! We were blown away by the taste of salmon. My dad had the falafel and said it was the most crispy he’s ever had… delicious too! Generous portions too. The baklava was also tasty and not super sugary. Excellent restaurant: I highly recommend from the normal Texas bbq.

I ordered lunch special. Should come with starter, food and choice of drink. I was just served water and starter. Waitress brought my food with no rice. I had to ask for rice and than she said oh so do you want rice? I said yes doesn't the dish comes with it. She said we don't give rice unless asked because customers waste it. What the heck! It's my money I am paying for it. Than of cause didn't give me soda at all. The quantity of food is reduced. Rice came in a small bowl like 4 tablespoons. RIDICULOUS $18.95 was my lunch plus tips. Never going back!!

The food service was wonderful. Please note that there are two restaurants one in Plano and one in Mansfield. And they’re both great.

No offer of any drink other than water. There is wine around the restaurant as decorations but they literally told us they don't have anything to order and it's "BYOB". No olive oil w/ sub-par pita, probably from local grocery store. Average Med food.

We used to live this place and go all the time. However, in the last few years the taste of the food has gone downhill. It used to be so flavorful but now tastes bland.

Ate here for the first time this evening and it was amazing! We had the hot appetizer mix, moussaka, and braised lamb shank and every single thing was delicious! Service was perfect, and we will definitely be back!

Food was very standard. Didn’t taste very well. For the money you pay the food suppose to be top notch. This restaurant won’t be in business in Istanbul for their food. Not a good place for people that is trying their first time to taste Turkish food.

Let me start by saying the food was amazing. We started with the Cigarette Borek they were crispy and cheesy. The main course was the Mixed Grill, and let me tell you it did not disappoint the food was full of flavor. Everything food wise was perfect the only bad thing was the service. The waitress seemed like she didn't want to be there and we had to ask for drinks she didn't ask if we wanted anything to drink. When we asked a question to the helper filling our drinks he went to tell her to come over and she seemed annoyed and tried sending him back.

This is my father & I’s favorite spot to meet for lunch. The price is unbeatable and the food is amazing every time. I am obsessed with the zucchini cakes, I crave them all the time. If I lived closer I would be here every other day. I strongly suggest the beef moussaka, it tastes like the best home cooked meal your grandma ever made. The flavor is perfect, sometimes I’ll even order an extra one to-go. The hummus and baba ghanoush are also always to die for as well. My dad always get the lamb and loves it. We’ve always had the same server & she is wonderful <3 super nice & great service each time.

I lucked out when I picked this spot on my way home. Everything was juicy! Very used to my meats being dry from Mediterranean places where I live. Even the chicken gyro meat was juicy and delicious. I wanted to try a bit of everything so I got the 2 person plate, and took it to go to share with my husband. So satisfied! Every meat is perfect and delicious. Even the veggies were like, whoa! okay, yum. I wish I lived near this place. Should be eating here every time you visit Arlington!

Great food, and service. Food was seasoned slightly milder than what I'm typically used to with most Mediterranean cuisine, but the flavors were wonderful and both my wife and I loved it and plan to be back.

I love the food and the service there. I personally love the Adana kebab and for dessert kunefe with turkish coffee. I only regret they stopped offering ayran (the yougurt drink). It is a bring-your-own-alcoholic-drink place.

I always go here for lunch. Waitress is so sweet. Just love her. For many years I have been only ordering Chicken Delight which is no longer on the menu now but the Waitress is always able to get it made by the chef. Good food!!!

Plenty of parking. Clean venue. Staff was courteous and efficient. Tables appointed with linen table cloths and napkins. Turkish coffee was so good no sweetener or other additives were necessary. Chicken, rice and vegetable sides were delightful! Well worth a visit!

Really nice environment. Only ordered appetizers and dessert. All 4 of our choices were very yummy! Staff was very pleasant as well.

We went on Saturday evening and probably should have taken the hint that there was only one table in use. We ordered the fried cauliflower for an appetizer and it was ok. We ordered the Mixed Grill to share and was just really disappointed with lack of flavor and seasoning. Very little vegetable, had to split the one piece of carrot. Tons of gyro meat and only two pieces of beef for $40+. Lamb was tough. We had water with our meal and it tasted like it had come out of a moldy pitcher. Overall not worth the $75 experience.

Istanbul Grill is a top establishment. The ambiance is inviting and the food is quite good. My favorite were the lamb chops. The Haydari was something new that we liked. The Shrimp Garlic was full of flavor. The Mixed Grill for 2 was an excellent choice for us as we got to try out a decent amount of their meat offerings. The ambiance was very inviting. The background music was relaxing and adds to the overall ambiance. The service was good as well. Our server was courteous, attentive, and friendly. Would recommend.

Visited this restaurant again after couple of years. The food, ambiance and service were all excellent. We were a party of seven and enjoyed their delicious food, suberb service.

The food is amazing here. The hummus is the best I’ve ever had and the pita bread was so soft and warm. Must have! I had the salmon kabobs and my cousin had beef kabobs and they were both so scrumptious. We will definitely come back again.

Restaurant was very clean and has a very calming atmosphere with classical music playing in the background. I want to start with the fact that the food is very good but the HALAL options are limited to ONLY LAMB meat and there are only a handful of lamb options. So if you eat halal only but don’t eat lamb, this place is not for you The Lentil Soup had a nice color to it and it was rich in flavor. Sigara Borek is a good choice as an appetizer, it was crispy from outside and it had a perfect amount of cheese inside the borek, the dipping sauce gave it an extra kick of flavor, you will not regret getting it. I also tried the Lamb Tenderloins with white rice, the lamb was very tender and juicy, it was perfectly salted, the white rice was not dry and it was tasteful, the grilled vegetables and the small side salad gave it a nice touch to the plate, they even asked me how would I want my lamb cooked (which is a very rear in a Mediterranean Restaurant). However, the meal portions are a bit small, my plate came with only 4 pieces of lamb and a small cup of rice. (Maybe I’m just use to the big portions in other restaurants 🤷🏻‍♂️) I would definitely recommend this place and will come again if I ever comeback to the area

Excellent food, this is our favorite restaurant in Arlington

We ordered online for a delivery an hour and 20 mins in advance (17th April) having ordered for a delivery just a few weeks ago and there was no issue, it got delivered promptly and all was well! However, after taking my money and my order, just 30 mins later, I get a message saying that the order has been cancelled due to us being too far away! This is a disgraceful service seeing as I put our address in the order and accepted the delivery fee! Now we have to look elsewhere and spend more money, we have already spent over £40 for this order! I will never use this service again, and I will not ever recommend it to anyone else in the future and I will take my money elsewhere! I feel sorry for other customers!

Food is delicious. Service is friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Restaurant is clean and well organized. I usually come here for lunch, but ate dinner tonight with 3 friends. We each really enjoyed our respective dishes.

Food is very good and the staff is friendly. My only complaint is their drink options, which are very minimal. It's BYOW, so take a bottle of you want wine with your meal. Otherwise, you get water, tea, or coffee.

Istanbul grill is the perfect place (and only place) to get that Mediterranean/Turkish food itch at the Fort Worth area. I came here last year with a bunch of my friends and do recall the portions being much bigger and quite tastier as well and unfortunately wasn’t able to recapture that exact experience the second time around. However the food is still quite delicious despite the smaller portions. The vibe/atmosphere is also really nice with Turkish styled lamps hanging from the ceiling adding to the ambiance. I’m hoping they bring back the old serving sizes as it was great for value as well. All in all pretty cool!

I simply asked if I could get a receipt for my food before ordering, as I was using my company allowance to eat, on an overnight trip away from home. I was questioned, refused, and threatened. Three big men then pushed me out of the restaurant. I can’t review the food as i never got to to make an order…

Advertised a free bottle of drink on orders over £25, when order was delivered without bottle, phoned the restaurant and the rude lady who answered the phone said this has now changed to £50 and so wouldn't honour the deal Incredibly unprofessional with false advertisement, stay away and together we can hopefully put places like this out of business.

There food is nothing like meditrainian food

This establishment offers a pleasant dining experience with portions that are satisfyingly ample. However, it would be beneficial if they allowed plate sharing, especially for those who prefer to control their portion sizes. Regarding the cuisine, while the chicken dish was flavorful, the heavy use of tomato sauce and oregano gave it more of an Italian flair rather than the expected Turkish influence. Despite this deviation, the baba ghanoush and hummus were standout dishes, boasting authentic flavors and smooth textures that pleased the palate. Additionally, the tabbouleh and rice with vermicelli were notable highlights, offering refreshing and savory accompaniments that complemented the meal perfectly. While the fusion of flavors may stray from traditional expectations, the quality of the dishes ensures a satisfying dining experience.

The beef kabob was wonderful, hummus could have used a little more flavor. They were very nice and accommodating.

Amazing experience, Service was excellent, the meat was so juicy and fresh, we ordered falafel it was very yummy, it came with tzatziki sauce and it was the best pairing 😋😋 we also ordered different types of meat (for 2) it was 39.99$ oh my.. it was so juicy and soft. It came with rice and backed veggies. The portion was so big that I think it’s even enough for 3 people.

I love this restaurant! I usually go for lunch and the lunch special of an appetizer, lunch main and drink is great. The hummus, babaganoush, and cigarette borek are especially good appetizers. Also, the beef kebab is tender and delicious. Usually cooked medium rare, which I prefer. The iced tea is also delicious. I am not sure what tea blend they use, but it is very fragrant and not your standard iced tea. The rice / vermicelli they serve with most meals is fluffy and seasoned well.

Really good service. Went with a party of 11 and service was on point. Food was really good and a lot of it. Went home with leftovers! Small restaurant, nothing special for design, but you can tell they put their heart into the food and service!

I ordered one Iskander Kebab to go. I waited 10 minutes and gone I was. I arrive at work and open the food box to find this strange "Iskander Kebab" dish. It was nothing like the actual iskander Kebab. There was no yogurt in the whole meal. They actually added rice instead of yogurt. So basically, I'm supposed to eat a meal of just minced meat over cut up bread and rice. What the heck is that? I was craving Iskander Kebab and this really annoyed me.

Wow! This place is a must! The service was AMAZING! All the waiters were involved and we never had to ask for anything, they were very attentive. The food…omg! It was all amazing. We got the cold trio, hot mix, I got a shepherds salad and the Chicken Tava! It was all amazing. Everyone at the table was constantly eating and saying how amazing it was! The atmosphere was simple. It was very clean and not to flashy and just pleasant!
