Istanbul Grill in Portsmouth

Excellent food.Went with my family today and ordered kebab,pizza and fish and chips.All foods were tasty and absolutely brilliant.Will visit again.

Funnily enough I haven't tried the food myself but I have dropped in several times to pick up for someone I look after, the gents running the place are lovely and she is always happy with her meal! Some day, I'll order something and give a better review lol

Ordered on the Istanbul app, very quick delivery, but the delivery driver was a tiny, very rude old man who didn't hand me my food until he was done rambling, he informed me that they don't usually deliver to my area (the app didn't state this, so how were we supposed to know?), but did so in such an unnecessarily disrespectful and insulting way, like I was stupid. Even after I apologised he continued to talk down to me in front of my family who were all appalled by his behaviour as well. I've been here many times before in person and always had a lovely experience. Sad to see someone bringing the place down.

We traveled from london. Stoped for lunch. Lovely service from Abdula we used the clean toilets even prayed and when we ordered our food he was very helpful with the menu. Food arrived it was delicious. Thanks for delicious food and service

Very friendly staff, really good service, excellent food and very reasonably priced. Only gave 3 stars for atmospheric charm because I was the only one in there, you can eat in, but smaller groups so atmosphere may change.

We were in Portsmouth and needed a place to eat, so we did a quick Google search for the nearest kebab house. This one came up as the only option open for lunch in the area. They had an extensive menu, and we decided to order two small Doner kebabs. The food was of great quality, although the prices were a bit on the expensive side. The place was very clean and had a 5-star hygiene rating. The service was excellent, and they provided clean tables and chairs for those who wanted to dine in. The male and female toilet facilities were also well-maintained and clean. If we find ourselves in Portsmouth again, we would definitely consider visiting this place once more.

The staff was not good because i got a pizza and there was hair in it, i took the hair out and put it on a tissue and showed it to the staff. Even tho we didn’t eat the food after we saw the hair, they charged us for the pizza that had hair in it. I will never go back to the store.

Shocking food… was delivered Luke warm then my chicken kebab smelt funny and tasted even worse. Chicken was off and dry. My husband kebab tasted ok but gave him such an upset stomach

Loved the chicken wrap. It was tasty. Burger was lovely. I recommend eating here as the food is fresh and the prices are right

Food is absolutely amazing, discovered it whilst visiting friends a couple of weeks ago. Prices are mind-blowing (it's a lot more expensive where I am for the same things - so value for money is a definite YES.) Service was a bit hit and miss the second time, but I guess it depends who you get on shift when you go in, the first time staff were interactive, almost playful and added to the experience, the second, they just served the food and gave you the basic service you'd expect every time if you hadn't had the outstanding and fun service the first time. So not a huge negative but it would be nice to see the same enthusiasm from everyone there. Will definitely use them every time I fancy a take-away and I'm in the area!

I order donor kabab in rap and first time I found in the food led or iron I’m so lucky not damage my teeth I didn’t complain about that but I’m not back there again.

Ordered pizza. It arrived cold. The man that delivered had walked the food from the restaurant called me and was on the phone to be for 5 mins trying to find the house. Food was not in a hot bag food arrived cold!

Food is very expensive for what it is. Nearly 5 pound for a burger on its own. Food is cheap and tasteless. I've been going here since 2000 and the food gone down hill. Chips are over cooked . You don't get any free stuff if you spend a certain amount. Very greasy food and Donna meat bland. Not happy and will not go there again .

Horrible! Chips were dry! Onion rings were cheap and mush taste like cardboard… reason for being so cheap! Kebab is dreadful, no box just came wrapped up so bread was soggy?? The meat is horrid it’s chewy, flavourless, stringy, thick, dull, gritty. There salad is lettuce, onion tomato smothered in sauce… Didn’t get through a quarter of it! To sickly Change the meat! Change something! This food has gone down hill! Nice service, quick delivery Hot food

I use this as a take away and had a few deliveries. The order by phone is easy and the delivery fast. The food is always good and always hot. I would recommend this.

Best place. Friendly staff to me and my family. One of the staff gave my daughter a lollipop which was a really nice gesture. Will visit regularly for sure.

First takeout in Portsmouth. Staff friendly, prices good and portions huge. We had the chicken shish and lamb doner combo, so filling. Not greasy and the chilli sauce has the right amount of kick to it. You can eat in or take away. Inside is basic but tidy.

Great staff and they are always busy with orders! Regularly order chicken and lamb donner wraps and they taste great! One of the best kebabs I have had in Portsmouth! Really recommend Istanbul Grill House!

My husband and I had a kebab last night and we have both been VERY unwell - I will not be ordering again and will be recommending anyone and everyone to avoid at all costs.

Nice food, great seating but out of use because of pandemic (I think) but yeah cool place if you want a hamburger and chips!

This is a must for food... Amazing people, great food... My recommendation is always meat and chips... They even do if for the kids... But even if you have fussy kids there will always be something they eat... You can feed the whole family without breaking the bank... I used them for all my dinners when the cooker broke!

I ordered by phone, gave them my card details. They took the money, out of spite they said it was over the correct post code. I now am going hungry because they took the last of my money and they very awquard and rude and basically stole from me. Very angry with Istanbul grill. Order from somewhere else they are dreadful and apparently they have bad hygiene.

We r the biggest pub in Portsmouth and never had a problem ordering b4 from here but tonight big issues with the delivery phoned 3 times to find out where we r post code was given so cancelled ordered on phone to be told the food is going to be wasted and now barred 🤮🤬

Used to be a great kebab house, one of the oldest in Portsmouth​ but like some other kebab shops now the lamb just doesn't seem right. Usual kebab house favourites plus: the Messy Burger - ideal after a night out on the beer and a cheese garlic bread (pizza style).

Possibly the worst lamb Donner meat I've ever tasted. The whole meal (donnar meat and chips) was covered in grease and It seemed the chips had been refried!! The young lad on the end of the phone was rude and abrupt when I complained. I dont know his name but I strongly suspect it begins with a capital C !!!!! I would rather s**t in my hands and clap than ever purchase food from this place again.

Havnt been able to find as good burger that I used to have 20 years ago, until now. I'm literally so happy I've actually found one. Chicken strips where crispy and fresh, cant wait till my next one. Thank you.
