I have been going to EFES for about 25 years now, and the reason for that is it is without doubt, the best Kebab shop on Portsea island. Staff are friendly and the food is always extremely tasty and well presented. One of life’s pleasures, and if you haven’t tried EFES previously, then you should.

Delivery time was far too long meaning warm and soggy pitta bread with sweaty chips. Won't be going back.

ordered on website no order for 2 hours phoned oh they dont deliver to my area yet took the money no email and i know full well the driver got lost as he was racing up down road

Went there last night and brought a lamb donner wrap and some chips and have been violently ill today since 6am with food poisoning that has not gone away and it's been almost 12 hours later

Been a loyal customer at this place for many years but tonight was extremely disappointing. I phoned up after receiving my order to complain about the food. It arrived stone cold and the beef burgers were basically ‘ solid ‘ where they had been clearly over cooked and were beyond the point of being edible. (£35) order so not cheap. After explaining myself the phone was then passed to another man who became very defensive and argumentative down the phone and kept interrupting me saying that there was nothing wrong with food. There was no reasoning with this man and he made us feel like we were lying. Poor customer service ! All we asked for was for the food to be prepared to a satisfactory standard and delivered hot. After about 5 mins of him ranting down the phone at me , He eventually and reluctantly agreed to send the items we were dissatisfied with but not the whole order which they should’ve done. He told me his boss wouldn’t be happy ! Very uncomfortable and unnecessary experience when all they had to do to resolve the problem was send out a fresh order. This will be last order from efes for sure. Learn to value and treat your customers right efes !!!!!

Don't get me wrong, the kebab is delicious, but seriously guys what is going on with the portions size? I mean small chips, are really small, plus why would you put so little salad in the kebab? I ordered 2 kebab for delivery, even though I asked all salads on both, chilli peppers are missing, and I never seen such a small amount of salad in a kebab. I would rather spend 1£ extra but have a proper kebab, with a good amount of salad...

Wow , amazing food .Not one for leaving reviews but sometimes you have to make an exception,that has to be the best kebab all 3 of us at home have had for a very long time, absolutely delicious.

Had THE MOST delicious chicken kebab at this very popular and friendly restaurant / takeaway close to Fratton station. The chicken was tender, and so tasty. I’d love to know what they marinate it in. I ordered a small kebab, with salad etc and their very tasty chilli and garlic sauces. It was a bargain at £6.40. My sister had a lamb doner. She swears by Efes and recommended them to me and I’m glad she did. A lovely meal.

Asked them if the do a mixed grill and they pointed to a mixed kebab, no other details provided apart from one skewer lamb/chicken and doner. Upon prep they put it into a tiny pitta bread, I asked if it came in a tray and they said no it will be extra. The item I referred to was the EFES special which they could have explained at the start. Then they were very moody and said I was told everything at the start. They also forgot the chips and the doner meat was dried out. It was a poor experience all around, definitely would not recommend.

Best kebab but half the time end up waiting more than an hour for an order

Absolutely vile, never tasted something so rotten In my life, imagine soaking a burger in water for hours then attempting to eat it that’s how soggy it was. Chips hard to eat and tasteless as they were cold and like eating cardboard. The last time I order food from them.

Joke of a place , keeps having website issues and sending me different orders and tells me they will get it sorted and then sent me another order thats wrong thats 4 of the same product they keep getting wrong, was told its my own fault that their website isn't fully working so work that out. Will not use them anymore

The food was very tasty. Only reason I don't give it a 5 star review is because my order was missing a bottle of Pepsi and took nearly one hour to be delivered after I placed the order.

I hate this food the only thing i ate was chips because of it all, the food was just 🤢 and the chicken was like burnt and very very very very very crunchy which i also did not like. Plz fix your food

Ordered food came over 1 hour late cold and disgusting.. phoned to complain to be told they not willing to refund or replace food. Starving either eat cold stale food or have nothing and still paid no compensation shocking bad service!!!!! Will never order here again

I hadn’t had one of these kebabs for around 10 years. I returned and they are equally as good as they were before if not better. Would more than recommend and will definitely be returning before 10 years. Haha

In my opinion this is the best place for a kebab in Portsmouth, we have been coming here for years and wouldn’t go anywhere else:) really like their new kebabs with a naan type bread….. yummy and soft :) 5 stars!

Lamb Shish with fresh salad and garlic sauce with chillis is our favourite. Meat is always tender and tastes of the charcoal grill.

Amazing food, cooked to order. Fresh salad. Beautiful garlic and chilli sauce. Chicken in the three forms we had were very tasty. Highly skilled, polite customer focused staff. Unbelievable watching them work. They're a well rehearsed team. Taking orders by memory getting it all right, while online orders poor in. All while cooking. Thank you, Efes team. You're amazing.

I have tried many different kebab shops in Portsmouth and since I discovered Efes is the one I go when I fancy a kebab, the food is always delicious, warm and very tasty and the staff are very friendly as well, If anyone fancies a proper kebab in Portsmouth and the whole of Hampshire then Efes is the place to go.

Having eaten from here multiple times and food been good had misfortune to recently order a delivery. Was advised that it would take an hour but turned up 1hour 40 minutes later and was stone cold. Phoned to complained and had phone put down on me twice, all they offered was replacement in 30 / 45 minutes time which was not acceptable as had other plans. Had to inform them multiple times it was cold as he did not believe me & then had to wait 30 minutes for them to come and collect.... Would I recommend.... yes I would recommend you go elsewhere!!! I will never use again to many other places that do not have such a rude attitude!!

Used to be a regular however it has massively gone downhill, now the meat is very fatty and greasy, even a kebab wrap the actual wrap is soaked in grease as they toast it on a greasy grill plate. Ordered chips and meat this time the grease had soaked into the sauce and was very disgusting. It used to be so good so it's such a shame. Will try again in future to see if it improves again but been bad for a while now

I’ve been eating at EFES for years and the food is always delicious!! I took some friends who are visiting from out of town and they absolutely adored the food! Definitely recommend!!!

I came to Portsmouth for a day trip with my family and we ate at Efes for dinner time and the quality of the food was really top notch!! The kids adored the burgers and me and my husband loved the doner kebab

Such a shame as food was always good. For the second time food took over an hour to arrive. Kebabs were stone cold. Chips had been fried multiple times and were solid as bricks and stone cold. Wish I’d gone to the local chip shop. Won’t return.

Received a delivery Send the wrong food was not correct what I ordered. Will not send out a replacement, very poor Customer service. I will be returning it tomorrow to get a 4 refund in the Take away.

Got a late night doner kebab, not only was it the smallest small doner I've ever had but it was also the greasiest. Plus they don't know the difference in sauces, the guy asked, would you like sauce? I said do you have yogurt? he said yes then covered it in garlic mayonnaise. Not impressed.

Unbelievable how good this food is, very friendly staff, proper fresh cooked food on coals, with fresh lovely salad, home made chilli sauce and garlic sauces taste amazing. Best kebab food I've had, and I've been to Turkey and such like countries. Would definately recommend.

Effes used to be the best buy as of late have lacked in the quality front. Ordered today and it was OK, better than the last time but still not up to the standard they once were. The food was pretty good for a late night meal but the quality was not good enough pitta was a little dry but quite greasy, the meat had obviously been reheated. Ordered chicken and lamb kebabs, both were spot on with the naga sauce that they added, tried the chicken choice pizza which is now my favourite pizza in Portsmouth, half pounder burger was good too

I was asked to leave a review when I ordered last night. I’ve been a loyal customer for 16 years. Never had a kebab from anywhere else. I have had several instances recently where my chips are so overcooked as you keep refrying them. I would like my fries cooked fresh please. I threw them away last night. Most weeks we order twice so are very regular customers. It’s a few minutes wait and as you are very expensive compared to some others you should give the quality that people are paying for. Thank you .

Love efes always within the time good value for money

My friend & I ordered a small marinated chicken kebab with salad & Mayo, my friend had a large chicken kebab, no salad and Mayo. The delivery time was perfect, the driver Brian was lovely, friendly & very polite. The food itself was absolutely delicious, chicken cooked to perfection & the salad was fresh. We would never use any other kebab shop in Portsmouth. Thank you Efes for our bank holiday Monday dinner.

Waited 1.5hours for our order. Food was microwaved, soggy, brown lettuce. Soggy chips. Absolutely awful. I’ve used efes for 10 years and I will not return.

Brilliant food, delivered early and hot, best kebabs we've had in Southsea. Lovely doner wrap, and special chicken kebab was juicy and delicious. Garlic sauce is freshly made and much nicer than the typical garlic mayo. Will definitely order again soon!

Very nice kebabs one off the best in Portsmouth

Popped in here after we had been shopping at gunwharf quays. I have to say that the food was very good, staff were very attentive and friendly . If I am in Portsmouth again will definitely come here again....and the chilli sauce was that good we brought some home with us. Thank you guys and keep up the good work!!

Excellent food!! They’ve really stepped up their game again! Chicken fillet burgers are fresh and tasty, an real chicken not processed! Must ask for fillet otherwise you will get a processed one!! Lamb donner and chicken donner is awesome! The chicken is as close to sharwarma as you will get! Chips are tasty an always fresh and the salad!! The chilli sauce is homemade and always tasty!! Give me them a try, delivery is good!! But the real food happens when you go see them!!

Ordered a chicken Shish wrap for myself and a lamb shish special for my sibling and this is the best kebab I have had in Portsmouth! Every time - they are consistent, good service with delicious food and good portion sizes. One of the best in Portsmouth hands down 😋

Don't order from efes not recommended

Effes used to be banging, the no 1 place to quench your late night hunger, but the last order I had was ordered online, delivered in 5 mins but stone cold, seemed like it has bee sat for a while but delivered very quickly . It's a real shame as these guys used to be the best.

Been eating here for 20 plus years never had a bad meal food is always hot a cooked perfectly. Wouldn't eat anywhere else
