Absolutely awfull we ordered last Friday and and was absolutely delightful ordered today and got what I didn't ask for the chicken donor kebab !! tasted like it was spiced with curry powder wasn't fresh at all cold and limp when bearing in mind I ordered a chicken wrap let's just say this was given to my autistic son who brought the kebab down from his room saying he didn't like it but he ate the bread as he was hungry rang up and complained they said the delivery driver will collect food with a refund and said the food was all eaten when it was just the pitta I try to give my son Independence and give him his meals like a adult as he is 16 !! The chips was re heated and dry like carboard they have made a poor mistake by doing this to us good is watching

Ordered before reading the reviews,however my friend recommended their food. Ordered small chicken kebab full salad the pitta may be small but the beautiful moist chunks of chicken were not. Chips way more than I could eat. I've just found my go to place 😊😎😎

This is not the cheapest kebab shop in town & I usually do not give 5 ✨️ & although there is no proper waiting area or seating area in the shop, i have to give all stars because of amazing customer service & professionalism of staff. Prices are higher than usual but for the quality of food its worth it. Only kebabs have some extra fat which is turkish style so if you don't like fat, avoid kebab. Again staff is so amazing they will do & pack everything exactly as you ask them. Well done 👏 ✔️ 👍

Been coming here for years even moved 30 minutes away and still travelled down to have it. Until recently when they started messing up orders. My partner ordered lamb doner meat and chips with lettuce. Meat was old and grey lettuce was brown like it had been sat for a while. He wrote a bad review and the manager offered to replace the food. When ordering said replacement my order was messed up. I ordered burger cheesy chips and garlic sauce. Drove home and received my burger with small chips and no sauce. Phoned them and they offered to replace it. Tonight I order and I get a lamb doner kebab which normally is really enjoyable but when I opened the box it was all small fatty bits of meat that looked like it was scraps. No nice long thin bits of meat like usual. Phoned them and the man on the phone was rude to me. Told me “if I want to come see how they cut the meat then I can come to the shop” and “he can’t give special cuts to customers” I never asked for special cuts. I asked for a lamb doner kebab not scrag ends. Shouldn’t have to pay the amount if the workers are going to be rude and ignorant. Never will I order from here again. Will have to find a replacement!

Very disgusting person who speak to customer with disrespect when ask the chips to be in a box they got put in a bag with poor presentation and was only allowed to pick 1 sauce normally it 2 I won't be coming here again I will take my money else where

The food is alright but the portion is very small compared to last time and they put the price up like extra £5 not even worth it anymore to buy it before you can share it with three or four person but now they probably can share on for two person( efes special). I guess that if you want to put the price up, but keep the portion the same it’s not even worth it!! Don’t buy in here anymore they just scamming people out.

(Arabic 👇🏼 attached) We had Efes’s special and a chicken doner with chips. All food was delicious. The place is clean and the staff are friendly. The best thing is to have your food to take out, as they have a small seating area. I highly recommend this place if you are craving grills or/and a Doner. Definitely will come again if in Portsmouth. We ordered mixed grills, a chicken doner sandwich, and potatoes. The food was delicious. We had a take-away meal, but there were simple sessions in the store. I recommend the mixed grill. The meat feels fresh and tender. If anyone comes to Portsmouth or lives there, I recommend the place. The staff are very nice and smiling.

ordered on website no order for 2 hours phoned oh they dont deliver to my area yet took the money no email and i know full well the driver got lost as he was racing up down road

I’ve used this place for many years but have moved away but whenever I am in Portsmouth due to work I will always pop in and get food to take home with me for myself and my other half. The staff know I have a 45 minute drive home and have always wrapped my food a little extra so it’s still warm when I get home. On one occasion a friend was at mine when I got back so I let him try some and he was like “where the ____ did you get that it’s amazing” . So if your ever in Portsmouth looking for a kebab I would 100% recommend Effes.

Went there last night and brought a lamb donner wrap and some chips and have been violently ill today since 6am with food poisoning that has not gone away and it's been almost 12 hours later

Been a loyal customer at this place for many years but tonight was extremely disappointing. I phoned up after receiving my order to complain about the food. It arrived stone cold and the beef burgers were basically ‘ solid ‘ where they had been clearly over cooked and were beyond the point of being edible. (£35) order so not cheap. After explaining myself the phone was then passed to another man who became very defensive and argumentative down the phone and kept interrupting me saying that there was nothing wrong with food. There was no reasoning with this man and he made us feel like we were lying. Poor customer service ! All we asked for was for the food to be prepared to a satisfactory standard and delivered hot. After about 5 mins of him ranting down the phone at me , He eventually and reluctantly agreed to send the items we were dissatisfied with but not the whole order which they should’ve done. He told me his boss wouldn’t be happy ! Very uncomfortable and unnecessary experience when all they had to do to resolve the problem was send out a fresh order. This will be last order from efes for sure. Learn to value and treat your customers right efes !!!!!

Don't get me wrong, the kebab is delicious, but seriously guys what is going on with the portions size? I mean small chips, are really small, plus why would you put so little salad in the kebab? I ordered 2 kebab for delivery, even though I asked all salads on both, chilli peppers are missing, and I never seen such a small amount of salad in a kebab. I would rather spend 1£ extra but have a proper kebab, with a good amount of salad...

Had THE MOST delicious chicken kebab at this very popular and friendly restaurant / takeaway close to Fratton station. The chicken was tender, and so tasty. I’d love to know what they marinate it in. I ordered a small kebab, with salad etc and their very tasty chilli and garlic sauces. It was a bargain at £6.40. My sister had a lamb doner. She swears by Efes and recommended them to me and I’m glad she did. A lovely meal.

Asked them if the do a mixed grill and they pointed to a mixed kebab, no other details provided apart from one skewer lamb/chicken and doner. Upon prep they put it into a tiny pitta bread, I asked if it came in a tray and they said no it will be extra. The item I referred to was the EFES special which they could have explained at the start. Then they were very moody and said I was told everything at the start. They also forgot the chips and the doner meat was dried out. It was a poor experience all around, definitely would not recommend.

Best kebab but half the time end up waiting more than an hour for an order

Absolutely vile, never tasted something so rotten In my life, imagine soaking a burger in water for hours then attempting to eat it that’s how soggy it was. Chips hard to eat and tasteless as they were cold and like eating cardboard. The last time I order food from them.

Joke of a place , keeps having website issues and sending me different orders and tells me they will get it sorted and then sent me another order thats wrong thats 4 of the same product they keep getting wrong, was told its my own fault that their website isn't fully working so work that out. Will not use them anymore

The food was very tasty. Only reason I don't give it a 5 star review is because my order was missing a bottle of Pepsi and took nearly one hour to be delivered after I placed the order.

I have tried many different kebab shops in Portsmouth and since I discovered Efes is the one I go when I fancy a kebab, the food is always delicious, warm and very tasty and the staff are very friendly as well, If anyone fancies a proper kebab in Portsmouth and the whole of Hampshire then Efes is the place to go.

Having eaten from here multiple times and food been good had misfortune to recently order a delivery. Was advised that it would take an hour but turned up 1hour 40 minutes later and was stone cold. Phoned to complained and had phone put down on me twice, all they offered was replacement in 30 / 45 minutes time which was not acceptable as had other plans. Had to inform them multiple times it was cold as he did not believe me & then had to wait 30 minutes for them to come and collect.... Would I recommend.... yes I would recommend you go elsewhere!!! I will never use again to many other places that do not have such a rude attitude!!

Used to be a regular however it has massively gone downhill, now the meat is very fatty and greasy, even a kebab wrap the actual wrap is soaked in grease as they toast it on a greasy grill plate. Ordered chips and meat this time the grease had soaked into the sauce and was very disgusting. It used to be so good so it's such a shame. Will try again in future to see if it improves again but been bad for a while now

I came to Portsmouth for a day trip with my family and we ate at Efes for dinner time and the quality of the food was really top notch!! The kids adored the burgers and me and my husband loved the doner kebab

I’ve been eating at EFES for years and the food is always delicious!! I took some friends who are visiting from out of town and they absolutely adored the food! Definitely recommend!!!

Such a shame as food was always good. For the second time food took over an hour to arrive. Kebabs were stone cold. Chips had been fried multiple times and were solid as bricks and stone cold. Wish I’d gone to the local chip shop. Won’t return.
