Isle of Mull Ice Cream in Argyll & Bute

We’ve been multiple times before and visited again a couple of times on our recent Sept/ Oct holiday and loved the ice cream. Unfortunately they didn’t have the yoghurt based ice cream that my partner loves. They were also closed a couple of times when we tried to get another.

This is excellent ice cream. I am sensitive to sugar and it didn't upset my stomach at all. I had the vanilla, which I think is a true test of ice cream. It's was sweet but not overly so. Just the perfect creaminess. My husband tried the berry and Carmel flavors which he quite enjoyed.

The Isle of Mull ice cream is the perfect place for an afternoon treat while exploring Tobermory. Excellent variety of flavours with all the usual options plus some great varieties. I had chocolate orange and raspberry white chocolate on my second visit. They were both great. Service was quick as only one person in front of us. Reasonably priced and really yummy without being super creamy. Best ice cream in our month travelling around Scotland.

This little kiosk is easy to miss on the Tobermory seafront - but is an absolute must for a visit. Lots of places around the world claim to make "the best Ice-Cream", well prepare yourselves for this little place in the wilds of Mull - in my view, this really is the best. I have to confess, last time I was here I was treated to Lemon Meringue Pie ice-cream. it was magical. It was lemony, it was meringuy and it had pie in it. Brilliant, amazing. The best. So on this trip I joined a long queue on a very sunny day in July. Whilst queuing I watched ice-cream being made just behind the counter. Finally I am at the front of the queue. The counter has an incredible array of flavours on display. But alas no Lemon Meringue Pie - I was gutted - as you have now gathered, I well and truly fell in love on my last visit. I explained my predicament to the busy staff. And as if by magic, from out of nowhere came a large cone of Lemon Meringue Pie. And it was just as incredible as I remember it. Thank you. A great place to visit, brilliant staff and the most amazing ice cream

this island keeps surprising us, public toilets, bright pink that now sell delicvious ice cream??? we had sorbet and a tub with three scoops, service was a little slow but the ice cream was amazing, worth the travel up to tobermory

We visited this place several times during our holiday and tasted a great variety of different flavours. The ice creams are delicious and generous and the service friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend a visit.

This small building on the Main Street of Tobermory next to the quayside houses a little piece of heaven. Inside ice cream is being made fresh so the menu changes daily. A tiny booth at one end serves the goods while you watch the process happening in the remainder of the building. I went twice and each of the 4 flavours were so good. This is a must in Tobermory.

The Peach and Coconut ice cream was quite possibly the best flavour I’ve ever tried, so light and refreshing. Yum, thank you, a perfect Sunday afternoon treat!

Great ice cream right on the harbour. Takes credit cards. We had the chocolate orange flavour which was delicious & refreshing.

Great ice cream, good choice of flavours - my husband loved the whiskey marmalade, I tried salted caramel, raspberry ripple (with real fruit) and their mango yoghurt, all delicious. Good quality cones (yes, the cone does make a difference) and very generous sized scoops. At £2.50 for a big single scoop, excellent value for money. They also have a shop at Salen, and no doubt elsewhere on Mull.

These days every high street and farm seems to sell 'award winning' ice cream. And its all lovely. But this team in the middle of Tobermory take ice cream to a different level. I opted for Lemon Meringue Pie flavour, simply because I don't see how you can make an ice cream that tastes of lemon, meringue and pie. And guess what, it did, IT REALLY DID. Isle of Mull Cream have managed to make an Ice Cream that tastes of lemon, and meringue and pie. Utterly brilliant.

Please don’t walk by the harbour side pink ice cream shop. Delicious ice cream, with lots of choices

We stopped at the Isle of Mull ice cream for an afternoon treat while exploring Tobermory. They had a good variety of flavours with all the usual options plus some great varieties. I had peaches and cream and my partner had strawberry and white chocolate. They were both great. There was a queue when we arrived but it moved quickly and was reasonably priced.

Visited mid afternoon. Great selection of ice creams and very tasty. Choice of sugar cone or tub. Good sized portion. Bit of time in queue to get served but worth the wait.

absolutely delicious! the flavours are amazing and you can taste the quality of the milk too. Not to be missed if you are on Mull! Very cheap too.

Great ice cream, shame about the unfriendly and unwelcoming service from the male assistant! Our very first stop for ice cream after getting off the ferry but sadly what a miserable unpleasant greeting! No smile, greeting or a thank you. (Maybe he was having a bad day) Ice cream was pleasant though. 😏

Just awesome! A revelation. Wish I could buy back home. All made on site (as far as I could tell). Don't visit Tobermory and have ice-cream anywhere else!!

Delicious ice cream with a small but tasty range of flavours including classic vanilla and chocolate, a white chocolate, maple and nuts and a Tobermory whisky orange marmalade (which was delicious and punchy!). No seating here.

We tried the ice cream and it was delicious. I enjoyed the lemon meringue flavour in a tub. My daughter reported that the vanilla flavour was delicious also.

The two girls running this lovely establishment on the seafront were rushed off their feet either making or selling the on site ice cream. Nice choice of flavours, cones and topping. Clean and Covid secure. Thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon break.

I got some whiskey marmalade and salted caramel ice cream from here yesterday and it was delicious. I didn't get it from the Tobermory place but from their stand in Salen.

Fun shop at the front of the harbour, good ice cream, the guy serving could have been a bit more enthusiastic about this lovely place.

Two very happy holiday makers! Delicious ice cream. Two scoops of coffee for me, 2 scoops of wild strawberry for him. Not cheap, but we'll worth a treat on a hot day.

Had a few visits on this trip sat inside, and on the veranda food and drink all good staff helpful and attentive.

Clearly not taking any pride or loving their work. In a prime position of the beautiful little harbour we thought what better way to enjoy the surroundings on a sunny day but with an ice cream. Instead we were greeted by a rude miserable man...

In the current covid crisis this is more a kiosk that sells ice cream than a cafe. However there was a good selection of flavours and the price was reasonable. Service depends on the queue of course but I enjoyed my ice cream.

Delicious ice cream to be enjoyed with a view hard to rival. The one way system enforced by covid actually works really well with the shop as well. Lovely. As always

No one comes to the Mull for the weather but we had 12 solid days of sunshine so ice cream was very welcome. Lovely home made ice cream, for me a bit more dairy flavour would have been welcome but a generous sized ice cream after a hot day at sea!

We were pleased we found where everyone was buying their Ice-Cream from.  There was a bit of a Social Distancing queue, but it was worth the wait. My husband had Vanilla and I had the Raspberry and White Chocolate. The Ice-Cream was delicious. 

Stopped here for an ice cream after a walk in the harbour (and I’d seen a lot of recommendations on travel websites). They were on the expensive side but worth it as the ice creams are homemade and super tasty. A little limited on the selection (think there were 6 flavours) but really good.

Finally managed to visit the Tobermory ice cream shop (we arrived the day before and it was closed), and it did not disappoint! The ice cream was delicious and definitely freshly made. Worth a visit if you are in Tobermory!

Bounty ice cream in a chocolate top cone - perfect afternoon treat! Queue can be a bit lengthy but worth the wait.

We visited the Isle of Mull ice cream shack whilst spending the day at Calgary Beach. Ice creams were amazing - probably some of the best we’ve ever eaten. We all had the chocolate dipped ice cream cones which were yummy enough in themselves. I chose the honeycombe double scope which was delicious, husband chose salted caramel which was also lovely, our daughter had vanilla which which she reported as being one of the best. They cost £4 each we was great value for money given the quality of the goods and the size. The shack also stocks a small selection of sweets, crisps and cold drinks but I don’t think tea/coffee. If your in the area and the shack is open I’d definitely recommend a visit. We also saw a small shop in Tobermory Main Street for the same company.

I really am fussy when it comes to ice-cream - I have a favourite in London, Vienna, Salzburg & will add this to my list. Incredibly fresh & real tasting & Creamy

A fantastic little ice cream shop that makes their own ice cream, which you can see being done. Delicious ice cream and a huge variety to choose from!

The ice creams are all made here and then served up, you can't get much fresher than that. Lots of great flavours and well priced. Would love to have known more about what the lady was doing with the machines making the ice cream though.

Had to many of these icecreams over the summer here on Mull its a MUST visit place if you go to Tobermory

Nice little ice cream shop but ice cream is excellent wherever you get it but still worth a visit. Think that's over 100 characters now.

Kurz und knapp kann hier die Bewertung ausfallen. Ein sehr gutes Eis, netter Service. Auch bei schlechterem Wetter einen Besuch wert. Eissorten, die man so nicht unbedingt in/aus Deutschland kennt. Einfach nur lecker. Unbedingt besuchen.

We have visited before, 12 months ago, and were pleased to see the ice cream still available. Limited range of flavours, yet all delicious. Not the cheapest, but worth it as a treat. Would recommend the staff are a little more cheerful and welcoming though.

this is so quaint, it was so good to go into a tiny building and come out with awesome ice cream, the reviews were absolutely right. you must go and try for yourselves. Very friendly service

I had the blackberry and cherry ice cream which was super. Also the honeycombe, the wild strawberry were all equally good. The flavours change all the time as made in small batches in the shop. Definitely worth a visit.

Mmmmm lovely icecream in a lovely venue. What more could you want?! Lots of choice of flavours. I loved the lemon meringue myself.

If you are in Tobermory on a warm day, I recommend an ice cream from here, several flavours, not expensive.

A small conveniently situated shack on the water side of the main street. They have a small (8?) Selection of delicious sounding icecream flavours including 1 fro-yo. I had this (cherry and dark chocolate) while the others had vanilla, lemon and raspberry sorbet and chocolate. All were delicious in a waffle cone at a fair price. I would definitely recommend sampling these delights.

Small selection of ice creams at a decent enough price. Lemon meringue pie was lovely! Seems to have queues most of the time. Worth queuing for.

I consider myself an ice cream aficionado. My GF and I had the mint chip and coconut milk-strawberry ice cream, respectively. We both thought they were excellent - very creamy texture, intensely flavored. Looking forward to trying more flavors tomorrow and the day after!

Sat on the bench overlooking the waterfront one very hot afternoon enjoying cooling down with delicious ice-cream. Daughter had a lemon meringue and I had a vanilla in cones with chocolate and hundreds and thousands round the top. Mmmm.

Really fabulous ice cream from a cute little kiosk on the seafront. Small range of flavours, big on taste, but they had my favourite, honeycomb, so I was delighted. Punchy London prices but worth it.

Delicious homemade ice cream from a little pink shop right on the harbour. Recommend the passion fruit frozen yogurt, but really everything is lovely.

Visited twice over a long weekend. Tried 4 flavours: snickers, white choc and strawberry, maple and hazelnut, elderberry and dark choc frozen yoghurt. All delicious and creamy, would definitely go back to try more.

Great ice cream but not a lot of flavours, no chocolate. I tried the grapefruit sorbet and it was delicious. Reasonably priced and the staff very friendly.

Gorgeous ice cream - felt we were back in Italy apart from the weather! Nice selection of flavours and a reasonable price. Unusual building...it was the old public toilets!!

This building on the seafront was pointed out to us by our guide (a retired local headmaster). He sang the praises of the local ice-cream and asked us to pass over the look of the building - it was formerly the public conveniences on the water-front. The ice-cream is well worth it!! But be careful of the giant seagulls who keep a close eye on the area.

Delicious, great flavours, especially loved the pink grapefruit sorbet. My dog loved his too. Really nice to sit on the benches behind the shop especially in the sun.

Superleckeres, selbstgemachtes Eis, das uns sogar im Regen geschmeckt hat. Für deutsche Verhältnisse eher teuer, aber definitiv sein Geld wert - man muss ja nicht drei Kugeln futtern...

I has 3 scoops because I couldn't decide which flavour to have. They were all amazing. Very creamy. I don't think I could have fitted anymore in but if I'm back in the area I will go for another 3 scooper!!!

Very tasty ice cream. We visited most days and there was a changing selection of ice cream. No queues, great service. Highly recommended

Small selection of freshly made ice cream. The milk comes from a local farm with great flavours including the odd unusual one. My family had well known favourites of chocolate and honey comb. My husband whisky flavoured made using local single malt Tobermory whisky and I had elderflower with mint. Yummy

Truely great ice cream, lovely service and great chat. Between us we tried the vanilla (real vanilla, nothing synthetic here) Cranachan (just the right balance of whisky) lemon meringue pie (crunchy meringue bits joy) and honeycomb (so good my son didn’t want to share!)

Some of the best ice cream I have tasted in a long time. I had lovely vanilla and my daughter had honey comb. Both were wonderful.

I visit Mull annually, and every year since it has opened, we make a thing of visiting at least once or twice! Rich chocolate tasted just like Italian gelato and creamy salted caramel was just fabulous.

Wenn man auch länger warten muss, weil es hier sehr oft voll wird, erhält man sehr leckeres besonders cremiges Eis, was auf der Insel selbst hergestellt ist.

Lovely little hut selling ice cream that is packing flavour - recommend the coffee. Great service. The ice cream is locally made so its great to support local suppliers rather than buying a magnum at the co-op opposite

We went here on Tuesday on our visit in town and as it was so warm we just had to have an ice cream!

What can I say about this place. All local ingredients to make delicious ice cream in a wide variety of flavours.

This must be the ice-cream parlour with the best view in the world. The ice-cream is very tasty as well. It manages to be a hidden gem on the high street. Buy your ice-cream, then sit on the bench and enjoy the view over the harbour.

As regular ice cream tasters on holiday this was one of our first stops when we arrived! The ice cream was lovely and was lots of choice of flavours. We tried the coffee which was lovely. Flavours seem to change daily which gives a bit of variety! Reasonably priced too.

Delicious and beats my previous favourite from Pokey Hat in Oban. All freshly made there on the premises. Slightly smaller selection than some places but you have to try this ice cream.... Well deserved 5 stars.

We tried the grapefruit sorbet, the mango frozen yogurt and the chocolate. The pink grapefruit was by far the best but all 3 were excellent and tghe portions generous. A great treat.

I am not that keen on ice cream, but the ice cream here was delicious. Can recommend the coffee, and the salted hazelnut nut.

I rarely review ice cream places as they usually taste much the same. This one was special. Shout out for the lemon meringue and the cranachon.
