Island Delight in Coventry

If you want to taste real Jamaican food then this is your place, we travel form Nuneaton boarder Leicestershire for this food because nowhere else is the same. Everything on the menu is a must try. My favourite thought the soup mmm mmm mm. Thank-you from a customer who been coming since you opened. Only thing I would advise is get your order in as they sell the soup real fast . The curry is also a must try . Anjai and Jason.

This FOOD is the best carabean food iv ever tasted... I drive all the way from Leistershire to Coventry I have been since they opened many years ago... The soup is amazing... And fresh too.. Never once have I ate anything from there I have not liked..... Steph and Andrea are great and the rest of the staff are great. Cheers for many years of service... Here's to many more. What a find, Amazing value, Amazing Food, What find, Fried Chicken to die for, Mutton Curry and Rice Massive Wow, and The Dumplings and Gravy just like they should be, Crisp Light and Fluffy an the Gravy is Like it should be , Not to runny just right amount of Kick, But the is the best thing, I had the Mutton and Rice the Missus had the Jerk Chicken and Rice, and Shared the Dumplings.

Ive tried All other caribbean places in coventry and island delights is the best. Best curried mutton, best jerk...never disappointed...totally authentic. My fav takeaway.

the food here is very tasty BEST CARIBBEAN EVER the jerk chicken was very succulent and perfectly cooked

The dumplings are tasty, soft and fluffy! the Curry Mutton is always tend and flavoursome and will melt in your mouth! the staff are well friendly especially bossman who will treat you like his long lost friend! the prices are decent - a large curry mutton with dumplings and a drink £10 and that will feed two!

My wife and I have ordered from here write a few times now and we're NEVER disappointed! Incredibly tasty Jamaican cuisine. Particular favorites would be the jerk chicken dinner, mutton curry dinner, brown stew and dumplings and gravy.

The food was good and the staff were helpful and friendly. The brown stew chicken, rice and peas and steamed veg were delicious.

ordered mutton and rice with NO peas,took it home and found peas,took it back and said there were peas in it and the response without looking at it was no there isn't! i did say a few choice words and told them to stick the £6.00 where the sun doesn't shine,maybe if i was affro carribean i would have been treated better?lost a customer who loves different foods but has a phobia about peas.nice food but staff atttude stinks.

Have been a regular at island delight for quite a while but tonight I am disgusted to say the least. Ordered curried chicken, steamed veg and rice, turned over the first piece of chicken to eat and the smell was horrendous. It was clearly way past its date. So so glad my children did'nt eat any before I noticed it. Will never use again.

I have had a few meals to take away from Island Delight and the food is very nice and authentic. The Jerk Chicken meal (Jerk Chicken breast with rice and peas and steamed veg + Jamaican brown sauce) has always been top quality and the portion sizes are good. I will visit again if I want a Caribbean dish in the north of Coventry again.

We got a take away from here after having one from the stall the shop had at the Earlsdon Festival. Have had the mutton curry with rice and dumplings both times and wasn't disappointed. Really Reasonable portions for a reasonable price. Will be back as it is a nice change from the usual Indian or Chinese standard take away

I visit Island Delight regularly I always have Jerk Chicken Rice Peas and vegetables. I have never been disappointed . Generous helpings and a good price , It has the taste of .good home cooked food.

After visiting on several occassion I can confirm that I am most disappointed with the food. The cooking was second class and not a true reflection of Jamaica cuisine.
