Good service and even better food.

Foods never fresh, greedy owner sells old food from days before to not lose any money, I had a burnt pattys, tough dry jerk chicken, chewy goat, cannot suggest one good thing on the menu.

Went in to pick up a takeaway whilst waiting for the food the owner offered my daughter a sky juice (we had made a big order and purchased a lot of drinks) he then put one in our bag before getting an answer and proceeded to charge me for it! Food was awful and ended up in the bin. Service was terrible he spent too much time shouting and making demands of the lady cooking to even help any one else. We will not be back

My son and I came on the 19th August in the afternoon.I ordered chicken soup,Very tasty 😋 My son had curry goat.He enjoyed it too.The only thing I wish I had was s a Guinness punch.Maybe next time!

Right. I don’t care what kind of service they give me because the food will make you forget. First time trying today and you will see me there again. Food tun up and I must say the best jerk spot in Coventry- 8.5/10

'Jerk chicken' is not jerk chicken, tastes more like sweet and sour from the Chinese. Mac n cheese had no flavour.

I tried the Jerk Chicken, it wasn't amazing or really that spicy, they have an extensive menu, and a little bar. The patties were very good, the filling was good and the pastry on point..

Ordered for delivery. Very bad service and very bad packaging. Paid for medium meal received super small meal. Paid for delivery received it more than 30 mins late

After ordering on the phone to collect in 25 minutes I got to there after 40 minutes thinking I am just collecting. Upon arriving told to just hold on for few minutes but ignored for 7 minutes that as person who was supposed to serve the long queue was across the road enjoying conversation with his friends. Then order was messed up and had to wait a further 35 minutes. What was supposed to be simple 30 minute collection to enjoy some Jamaican food ended up being total of 1 hr 15 minutes. When asked to discount the portion of wings for me waiting I was told it’s he did not take the order so it’s not his fault. If customer service matched the food this would be an amazing spot.

Real home cooked Jamaican food, like your grandma's in the kitchen cooking it. A good selection of dishes, amd all very tasty. It's becoming a regular, it's that good. Highly recommended 👌

Just had a delivery from here . It was fantastic !! Tasty , loads of food and delivered out to Meriden . I've eaten lots of West Indian food and this was certainly very good ... I will be ordering again

Can you stop giving out stale chicken, which has obviously been re heated or sat around for a very long time, the photo shows the layer of stale and hardness I had to take off the chicken, you need to take pride and passion in your place, you rely on a churn of new customers like uni students, all loyal customers have gone to 3 spice on walsgrave road

I was looking forward to this place but the food was a huge disappointment - big sad man 😞 I went for the steam vege on rice. Rice was dry and vege was extremely salty. The food didn't look pretty (that's fine, not all food looks pretty), it should at least look interesting. This didn't even look or taste interesting, it's just ... 😔 Big sad man.

Always our go to Caribbean takeaway when in Coventry. Good portion sizes and real affordable too. The service is good as well. They offer a student discount which is handy.

Had a lovely big order from there this afternoon for my family. Jerk Chicken with fries, Oxtail with rice & Peas. Fried Chicken and 6 Dumplings and Hake with Rice & Peas, 2 bottles of strawberry sky juice. Food was fresh and was still hot when we reached back to Rugby to eat. After a lengthy hospital appointment was just what was needed. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 meal will defo return in future.

I’ve just had my food delivered and it was completely disgusting the festivals were dry and flavourless tough the fried plantains we soggy and the Mac n cheese was pasta that was stodgy and can only be described as jelly the £3 coleslaw was not Evan as big as the ketchup you get in McDonald’s in the paper cups I would never recommend this place in a million years and the customer service is non existent

Excellent food, great service, fantastic atmosphere.

The food was as bland, Ackee seemed discoloured and the fried dumpling wasn’t cooked through. Such a shame.

Easily the best place to go for some Jamaican food, try and come here at least once a week when I’m working close. Strong 10/10 for flavour clean tidy and the staff are perfect

Food was ok, customer service wasn’t, contacted about late delivery was told it wasn’t a pizza and to just wait. Very unhappy experience will not be using again.

This is not authentic Jamaican food. The jerk chicken is smothered in ketchup. Plantain was tough and rice seemed a day old. Dumpling was nice but that's about it. Would not recommend. Especially for the price, was not good.

This is one of our favourite Jamaican/Caribbean restaurants. The food is well-cooked, and you can have it as a takeaway or sit in and eat. The menu has what a typical Jamaican restaurant would have except for soul and hard food - not having these on the menu is mainly down to the location of this restaurant. Be aware that you are likely to have a long wait, as the husband and wife duo are usually the only two workers in the restaurant - however, the warm and friendly customer service makes the wait worth it. I strongly recommend this restaurant with owners who are genuinely customer centred.

Just order food from this place and the rice appears to be from the day before very dry. Very Disappointed.

Ordered uber eats from this place for a late dinner around 7:30, on the app the estimated time of arrival was between 8:10 and 8:30. Order did not arrive after 8:40ish, and I called to enquire about it; they said driver was on his way. Did not arrive for quite some time, so called again; this time got an answer that driver was gonna take 30 minutes. Kept waiting until 9:30; restaurant just cancelled my order. Ended up waiting 2 hours for nothing. Never order from here, owner did not even say sorry once when I called twice.

Had curry goat rice and pea with 2 dumplings and coleslaw , it was edible but very bland no fire whatsoever or any flavour , dumpling were just heavy and plain not a taste of brown sugar , coleslaw and rice were fine , just found it no better than something out of a jar , fair priced but little meat, it was edible but nothing to make me go back

I was really excited trying the banana & peanut porridge I really liked it I went another two times the 3rd time was gone off it tasted like a sour lemon I was sick then threw it away it even cost £5 for a large so better to make from home. I could tell the food wasn't fresh just warmed up in microwave I'm a chef I do this for a living also the food is not good quality it's very expensive for carribean food please don't waste your time here I will never go again there are betters services in other parts of the city.

Jerk chicken, rice n peas, steamed veg with curry goat sauce. Jerk chicken dried out , no taste. Could have been fried chicken, was too dried out to know. Steamed veg nice, rice and peas ok . Unable to say what the curry goat sauce tasted like as the rice absorbed it. Not recommend.

Waited way over an hour for delivery .... Records kept. Called twice to chase and told I was next and they had other customers, I wasn't the only one, poor customer service ..... Turns out the driver had 4 deliveries prior .... Food barely warm ended up in the bin ..... Very disappointed

Tucked away in a salubrious part of the city. No prizes for presentation but the oxtail I bought was tasty enough.

I waited two and a half hours for my order to arrive and when it did arrive 3/4 of the meal was missing. When I called and asked them to correct my order, I was insulted and they refused to correct the order, I had to insist that I get the order that I had paid for, I will never use this service again ever, I advise others to find an alternative carribean food service, the food isn't worth dealing with the horrendous customer service. This is by far the rudest restaurant I have ever ordered food from.

The Chef and owner told me that he put his heart and soul into his food given that this was his business. I really felt this when I Tasted the food. Really impressive with a decent sized portion. 🔥🔥

Total scam. Ordered Special Donner and chips. Box was stuffed with chips with barely any donner in it. To top it up while eating I found a stone like piece of bone in it. Says much about the quality of this place. Used to order from here few years ago. Definitely staying away from this place.

Friday 15th October visited the area as my son's halls of residence is 100 metres away. Was very disappointed with the jerk chicken ,rice and peas + ackee and saltfish Pattie that I ordered. The jerk chicken which I was looking forward to was lacking seasoning and spice was a though the chicken was cooked and shop bought jerk sauce added which was sweet if nothing else . No hint of scotch bonnet heat anywhere and that includes the Pattie which was bland. Now very reluctant to try another dish there such is my disappointment of my first experience there.

Customer service can be hit and miss but must say - Best curry goat around.

3 hours i waited for food, then to have it turn up freezing cold i gave it back and lost £17 i dont want food poison Terrible food shop

The jerk wings are to die for, cooked beautifully and the jerk sauce was absolutely delicious, good substance to it, nice and spicy, not runny as I've found in other Caribbean restaurants. Also they sell various drinks, alcoholic and non alcoholic and I had the pineapple and ginger juice which was lovely. Welcoming, friendly staff. Definately going back.

Ordered food via Uber eats at 7pm and it estimated food would arrive in an hour. An hour passed and I still had nothing delivered. I then decided to call and was told there were 4 deliveries before me so I decided to just be patient. It was suddenly 10pm and the store had closed and I was still waiting for my food. I called and no one answered. They then decided to mark my food as delivered. So I then reported it to Uber. After reading other reviews this must be an ongoing situation that must be sorted out immediately.

We have had several take-aways from here and everyone has been delicious. The patties are the most authentic we have had outside of Jamaica and although I give them 5 minutes in a high oven to crisp up, the short pastry, mutton filling and level of spice is spot on. The Curry Goat is rich and tasty and the steamed vegetables are excellent. The pepper prawns, shell on, were moist, tasty and in a creamy pepper sauce. We will be working our way through the menu over the next few months and as a family we have voted this restaurant our number one rake-away

Best Jamaican place I've tried in the West Midlands. Authentic and delicious, delivery is usually pretty late but the food is always worth it

I really would not bother spending money in this shop as you will be hugely disappointed. For all those that have left 5star reviews its white men who would not know what real jamaican food tastes like. I would recommend leave it to esmie on far gosford st and that's real back a yard food and the taste is exquisite!!!!

I was spoken to in a vile manor after my order was cancelled 1 hour after I ordered it, baring in mind it was due for delivery 5 minutes after it was cancelled, to be told they cancelled the meal because they had ran out of steamed veg. I had no phone call to explain this so I called and the guy who answered starting calling me a di**head because i asked why? And it was a poor service. I would definitely concider ordering from else where! Vile people

Never again! NEVER! From when the business attempts to justify why they shouldn't compensate or refund an item because of their own negligence... Stay WELL clear! unprofessional, rude, amateur and arrogant! And to top it off... the food was soulless!!The only carribbean place to go to in Coventry, is Esmees! (Check it out)...And to think, I spent £24 and supported their business and they couldn't even offer me a complimentary item or refund for their mistake! I didn't even ask for much in return for their error... Just quality customer service is what I desire. I'm a businessman myself and I understand what customer service is... What these cheapskates serve is; Arrogance, narcissism, ignorance and bad food!! If thats what you like, spend away! Can't stand bad energy... urrrgh!

Ordered medium brown chicken stew for £7. What I received was say two small bits of chicken, mainly bone and cartridge. Really bad example of Caribbean food. I’m a student and this place is conveniently located near the uni to attract students. If they want to attract and keep customers, don’t scam them. I’m not Caribbean but I know my soul food. Maybe they thought they could rip off a silly white student girl? There are better places, go there instead.

Ordered from this restaurant before and enjoyed my meal. So, i ordered from here again, huge mistake!! The picture of the bananna bread speaks for itself. Plus i waited over 1.5 hours for my food. I am truely disgusted at the crap service and poor quality of food. I should actually contact Trading Food Standards as they clearly dont understand what poor food safety and hygiene practices are. AVOID this place.

Very good food, very friendly staff great value for money. Some of us had the jerk chicken, some had goat curry, the soup and the patties are very tasty. Every one enjoyed what they ate.

I have tried this place twice so far and the food is exceptional. We have vowed never to go anywhere else for Caribbean food. However first experience was great, and I had left a note for the restaurant to deliver to front door (when you print in my postcode it brings you around the back entrance) as I am disabled and the back way has steps leading down to it I find it very difficult to get down there. So the delivery man delivered to the front door. Second experience... food was great once again but the man rang me to say he was out the back and when I got down the steps he was few doors down the road. I waited at my gate and he wouldn’t drive up to me so I had to walk to the car and even then he just undone his window and passed me the food! I found it very difficult to get to the driver and I found this very rude. But as for the food it is lovely. Maybe it’s best to collect next time.

Came to get food on Sunday as Google says open till 12 , got there at half 8 and the place is closed. Not happy at as travelled all the way from nuneaton to get food from here

Absolute disgrace of a place, ordered online, delivery time was estimated an hour later, hour came and went, time suddenly changed to TWO hours later, called and spoke to some rude b**ch who told me there were 42 orders out for deliver and I would have to wait. Unprofessional, incompetent and pathetic. Order cancelled!

I placed an order for delivery today at 17:55 and didn’t receive my food until 20:00. When it arrived I was disappointed to say the least. My jerk chicken was supposed to be a medium sized portion and what I got was what I would barely call a passable small portion. There was barely any chicken at all. The curry goat I ordered was tasteless and the meat was fatty, with bones in as well. The rice was dry. I think it’s safe to say that was the worst takeaway I’ve ever ordered and a complete waste of £25

Ordered at 6.30pm still no delivery at 9pm after calling at 8.40pm to say he was on the way clearly lied.

Ordered food online and waited over an hour for them to cancel my order.
