Couldn't recommend more highly. Friendly staff, great food at great prices. Definatley recommend and will definately go back.

2 large fry ups, 2 quiche and chips, 2 teas, can of coke and a orange juice was all £25. Amazing value and great cooked fresh food. It’s in the market upstairs and it was so busy but we see why now. Great staff and service too. A proper old fashioned cafe where prices are low, food is great and people speak and it’s nice to see.

One of my favourites,fried eggs on fried bread. Scrumptious! 😋 This is a great cafe serving freshly cooked breakfasts, teas, homemade cakes etc and has a lovely atmosphere. Thank you.. 😍

My mum and I had flown over from Australia to visit family in Plymouth for three weeks and throughout those few weeks, we regularly visited Irene’s Pantry. Definitely our favourite spot to eat out at and we miss it since having flown home. We would get the big breakfast between us and two cups of tea. Every single time it was hot, fresh and yummy. The service was always lovely too! Thank you for always giving us a tasty meal, we highly recommend anyone looking for a great, well priced, well portioned breakfast to go here! Hopefully we will one day be back.

Myself and my daughter travelled from Brisbane to visit my elderly mother. Most days me and my daughter ordered the big breakfast with mushrooms,and an extra egg with two cups of tea and an extra plate. The two lovely ladies got to know us and would get the extra plate and pour the teas before we ordered. Excellent service and good value for money. I would definitely recommend it big time. 10/10. 😊

I eat at irenes regularly and love the home cooked food the stew is amazing and the roast is lovely the staff are wonderful and it's in the indoor market the prices are reasonable if you want a good breakfast this place is the pantry to come to even for just tea and cake

I come to irenes regular and the food and customer care is second to none the staff are always amazing and friendly I normally have the stew or a roast dinner and the food is all home cooked and the cakes are fabulous I highly recommend irenes for service and tasty food ten stars always

Estaba en el área de Plymouth y me encontré con algunos viejos compañeros de trabajo en su reunión mensual en la despensa de Irene. Buena área limpia y extenso menú de comida casera, así como una buena selección de bebidas. Disfrutamos de los cafés y una galleta de chocolate mientras poníamos en orden el mundo y conversábamos sobre los viejos tiempos. Seguimos el almuerzo para la mayoría de nosotros y, como era el Período Festivo, nos sentamos para disfrutar de una Fiesta de Pavo Asado tradicional. Todo recién preparado y buen tamaño de porción y a un precio que no rompería el banco. Bien recomendado

My Mum and I popped in for lunch and had two delicious roast dinners. We often come here to eat as the staff are always so helpful and even remember our choice of drinks! Once a month the "The Old codgers from the Main factory at Devonport Dockyard meet up for a reunion and 50 % stay on for a meal which is simple well cooked enjoyable food by very friendly staff.

We stopped off here for a late breakfast and were most impressed the ladies serving were very helpful and the food was freshly cooked to order it was really good value for money and everywhere was nice and clean this will be a favourite in future when we are in the area.

This was my Second Visit to Irene’s with a Number of Ex Royal Dockyard Workers to have a meet up to discuss Life, Retirement & The Good Old Days before Babcock arrived. Ten of us turned up on this Months Meet and we were all welcomed. Teas and Coffees were ordered and Seven of us stayed for Lunch which comprised of Cottage Pie & Three Veg, Sausage, Egg Beans & Chips plus a Bacon Sandwich. All washed down with another round of Teas & Coffees with a Chocolate Biscuit to finish off. Good customer service with prices that will not hurt us Pensioners in the Pocket.

Every second Wednesday of the Month a Number of Ex Royal Dockyard Workers have a meet up to discuss life and Irene’s Pantry is the Venue. I was in the City and joined them. Twelve of us turned up and we were all welcomed. Teas and Coffees were ordered and we sat to discuss all things. Seven stayed for Lunch which all looked very nice and freshly prepared. Nice decor and good customer service with prices that will not hurt us Pensioners in the Pocket.

I've been going to Irene's for years as out of all the cafés on the top floor of the City indoor market, this has always been my favourite. Great choice of food Inc. vegetarian and at good prices too. Added to that the warm friendly staff, and you can't go wrong here.Highly recommended.

Called into Irene's today for lunch. A freshly cooked pot of stew on the cooker top smelling delicious & so,was tempted to try a bowlful. Piping hot & filling, I thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. Well done ladies.

My wife and I had occasion to visit Irene's while I was getting some jewellery repaired, and as it happens it was the first one at the top of the stairs,so we sat down after giving our orders of which I had the Gammon Steak chips and fried egg and my wife had Roast Chicken, I can honestly say that it was the best Gammon Steak I have ever had,so tender chips and egg was nice too and my wife's Roast Chicken and accompanying vegetables were of a similar standard, we will definitely be coming back soon.....

A lovely Christmas meal that was certainly value for money and this year,s meal was one of the best over the past eight years we have enjoyed our group Xmas meal

We live in Torbay but visit Plymouth regularly, we always have a big breakfast on each visit, the staff are lovely and always very helpful, the food is of fantastic quality always cooked to order and always always served hot, well worth a visit if you're ever in Plymouth.

I visited recently with my partner before a busy day. I ordered the fry up which was so well-priced (I think it was around £3!) And it arrived pretty quickly although you could see it was all cooked to order. Didn't disappoint and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The only downfall was that there was no sauce to be seen anywhere! I need brown sauce with my bacon! Will definitely be returning.

Have been visiting one of the cafe's on the balcony for over 30 years when in Plymouth.probably been in Irene's before. They do roast's besides the usual chips and fru ups. Proper mugs of tea and pleasant staff. If it's overpriced gastro you wan't it is not for you. But for value for money you can't beat it. And a top score of 5 for Health and Hygeine.

Good home cooked food served with a smile every month at prices that will be hard to match. We are looking forward to the Christmas meal in December

Only ever use irenes pantry. The staff are so friendly and quick to prepare your food. Never had any complaints and been go in there for years. Sarah and Wendy are so friendly and polite.

Great steak on Saturday cooked how l like it.Monday best plough man's plenty on plate love beetroot getting to like salad. All food well cooked by Sara Wendy and Wendy. Well done girlsxxx😉

Nothing fancy here, just good home cooked food using fresh ingredients. A real gem in Plymouth city centre amongst the hoards of fast food cafes. Staff are friendly and polite. Portions are large and prices are small.

Mientras compras hoy, me decidí a visitar mi lugar habitual del almuerzo. Una deliciosa comida recién hecha, caliente y con mucho gusto. Un menú variado, pero decidí ir por mi típico guiso con extras en un pequeño costo extra. Puede ser una comida básica, pero como publicado por un poco más de 5 libras, tuve una comida y bebida. Precioso y limpio con un personal amable, café llevando un 5 estrellas de higiene. Si estás buscando una buena comida casera como su madre hizo o nan, ve a Irene. Leer otras críticas de la competencia, puede ser un "boliche" pero es un estupendo! ! ! Bien hecho, dirección y personal

Best breakfast in Plymouth it's unpretentious & they get the basics right such as food is served on hit plates. The coffee is awesome to. And prices are very reasonable. I will be back again

Al llegar a Plymouth teníamos hambre, nos preguntábamos en el mercado interior y noté una selección de arriba's Cafe. Nos buscamos y encontramos una despensa de Irene. Mientras espera a ser servido oí ese bistec y el riñón pudd estaba disponible, tanto de nosotros pedimos esto, nos dieron la opción de ollas y verduras, nada era demasiado problema. Cuando llegó estaba caliente y permaneció de esta manera hasta el último trago, era divino. El personal era amable y acogedor. Sin duda da una despensa de irene una gran relación calidad-precio y buen cocinar. Mantener el buen trabajo de las mujeres.

With a 5 hygiene rating which many larger establishments do not have , the food was good , well priced and service with a smile What more can anyone want a great place to visit

My first visit as it was recommended on this site. As said before a very good breakfast at very reasonable price. One petty complaint which you find in most establishments is the toast is hardly done.

Friendly staff, quick service, food was freshly cooked and delicious. Menu is good with almost everything sub five pounds.

Former Devonport Dockyard staff have been enjoying a great lunch once a month for at least 7 years and with good service and friendly staff hope to meet up here for many years to come.

Estaba perfectamente preparado y muy sabroso. Incluso la taza de té era perfecta. Estaba lleno y todo el mundo parecía disfrutar su comida y el personal fue fantástico, que nos habían recomendado para probar el tartas caseras de rock a llevar a casa y se portaron de maravilla, suavemente calentado con un montón de mantequilla, sí, la dieta comienza el lunes. ¡No te pierdas esta preciosa cafetería familiar no te decepcionará

He estado comiendo aquí en los últimos 14 años, y mi hermano aproximadamente 20 años, ya que su círculo de amigos. No comer en ningún otro sitio. ¿Por qué? El personal es genial, si tienes una comida en particular en lo que respecta a petición, harán todo lo posible para satisfacer sus necesidades, la comida es de primera categoría, especialmente las tartas caseras, pasteles! nom Sólo nom Sólo! Se pone bastante concurrida cada día, y tiene su cuota de asiduas. cuando pasas todas las otras cafeterías, tenga en cuenta que algunas personas son sábado en ellas, entonces en irene's. verá una gran diferencia! Cuando vas en mencionar que lea mi comentario aquí y les dices mike y John recomendado! Disfrute!

Hay un montón de cafeterías similares en una fila en la planta de arriba del mercado de el Pannier en la parte inferior de la zona comercial del centro de la ciudad de Plymouth. Irene es aproximadamente en el medio y ofrece vistas sobre el gran espacio por encima de los techados y tejados de todos los puestos de comercio. Tiene una amplia variedad de comida, muchos escaños en cabinas y el personal que nos servía era agradable y animado. Funciona Sin que otros pagarían cómo tener muchas aproximadamente similares cafés. Podría haber añadido algo si habían sido distribuidos por todo el mercado. Abajo la gestión parecen haber decidido que se reúnen todos los mostradores étnicos recientes de comida en una esquina. Irene es no está mal en la antigua forma británica.

Go up the stairs at either side of the top end of the pannier market and you find the balcony and behind that a row of about half a dozen separate small cafe businesses almost all selling the same stuff, all day cooked English breakfasts etc. odd to have so much of the same and little concession to live having moved on since the 1960s but if you need a hearty not so healthy plateful and you are happy to chat and squeeze in shoulder to shoulder with the locals then it's not a bad place to be and Irene's is one of the cleanest, tidiest, better organised. There are other places to eat down stairs not least the Afro Carribean Counter and the adjacent Thai place, which are both very good. In the corner next to the rather sad fish market enclosure is a burger and hot dog unit. I'd prefer Irene to that one. But at least there is a choice and the rather jaded dated and uninspiring Pannier Market is slowly showing signs of a resurrection.
