Amazing vegan comfort food. Try a milkshake!

Went here for lunch today on a friend’s recommendation, so glad we did. The food is amazing, ( I am not a vegan or dairy free) although if I could eat like this everyday I would be. Burger was so tasty, and the sundae was a chocolate lovers dream. Our waiter was very helpful and polite and the atmosphere very friendly. Well done to the chefs. Unlimited coffee and water. Spotless dining area. Clean toilets and a nifty ickle area where if you forget nappies etc you can take one and leave a little donation. Easy parking behind the restaurant. Really cannot fault this place. Please give this local business a try, even if your meat/dairy lover, I guarantee you will love it. Oh very reasonably priced too.

I'm not even vegan but this is one of my favourite restaurants in Plymouth. I love all the options, and it's very family friendly. I haven't been given dirty looks when my toddler needs to burn some steam by crawling around. My fave dish is the nachos! And the kids meals are adorable

Hands down the best vegan establishment in Plymouth (and probably the country!). This is my favourite place to eat out and we visit as often as we can. The food is incredible - fantastic quality, creative ideas, and very reasonably priced considering the really generous portions! We've tried most items on the menu and everything has been delicious - there's something for everyone, vegan or otherwise. The atmosphere is lovely, very clean and comfortable with great music playing. But what really sets this wonderful place apart from most restaurants these days is the exceptional customer service! Staff are consistently so friendly, genuine and accommodating. They always go above and beyond for customers. They thankfully allow dogs to visit too, and they treat them as pleasantly as their human customers! Absolutely could not fault this place and really hope it continues to thrive, as we love it! 💚

Amazing burgers and American style cuisine, you wouldn’t believe it was vegan!

Top place to eat in the south west. Some of the best burgers I’ve had (better than most meat burgers I’ve had in my life). The staff are wonderful and the service is so quick. The food is always cooked perfectly and the portions are so big for what you pay. On that note the prices are incredible too! The desserts are the best around as-well, especially the funnel cake. Definitely try the brisket fries and burger, and the frickles omg they’re the best. The theme nights are so cool, I’ve only managed to get to one but it was really good (the bbq night). This place is a must try for everyone vegan and non vegan!

The Dimpsy's crew are just the best. The food and ambience are my favourite, and I take every opportunity to eat here, or to take food away to eat at home. The vegan KFC meal is to die for, and the brisket is disgustingly delicious. Please do yourself a favour and stop here for dinner!

Both the food and atmosphere are alway absolutely perfect. Top notch vegan grub always served with a smile. My toddler absolutely loves playing with the toys and dancing to the jukebox too. One of my favourite places I’ve eaten literally ever.

We’ve been to Dimpsys a few times now, we live an hour away and we are always happy to make the journey. The BEST vegan food around plus it’s really affordable, a huge menu and even our omni friends we took here loved it. Really friendly staff, dog friendly and nhs discount. It’s a lovely place :)

If you are vegan or vegetarian this place is bangen! I am not, so not all was to my taste, but I have to say I was extremely impressed with everything and even the stuff that I didn't get on with was done to perfection. Highly recommended for those with dietary requirements 👌 👍 👏

I love coming here with my partner. The food is always exactly what we need. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. We had a wonderful server today who made sure we were very well taken care of. They have mastered the art of vegan cuisine, only sad part is we cannot come every week due to busy work schedules. Forever dreaming of their gorgeous seitan 🤤

I am a vegan from the states. I have to say, this is one of the best American diner, vegan experiences I have ever had. Great staff, fantastic atmosphere and some of the best diner food that is also vegan that I have had. Some of the things on the menu are almost impossible to find anywhere else. Vegan 'fried egg'! 'notzzarella ' sticks, and on top of that, fried pickle chips! Everything is so amazing! I can't recommend enough! And you can take away!

Went here for the first time and really enjoyed it! Staff was very friendly and the service was prompt. I got the honey mustard chicken burger and it was delicious. There was a lot more on the menu I wanted to try and the prices were very reasonable so I'll definitely be going back. Very pleased to find a good vegan restaurant in town.

second visit now. some of the best vegan food ive had. good portion sizes for the price (sides are massive, u only need one between two). the brisket dog is perfect! the milkshakes look lovely but wasnt a fan of how bitty the blueberry pie one was. well decorated and great music

The spiritual successor to the great samphire brasserie, and coincidentally in the same exact spot... But different owners...coincidence? Apparently so. Dimpsys diner is one of 3 "must visit" restaurants for vegans in Plymouth. Next to imperial garden for Chinese and knead for pizza, Dimpsys diner has the diner based fast food menu nailed to a T. Lots to choose from and everything was delicious! And very fair prices! The toffee popcorn milkshake blew my mind, imagine the five dollar shake from pulp fiction. A hidden gem.

We drove an hour from Cornwall just to come to Dimpsy’s as an end of college/Alevels treat for my daughter. We are a family of vegans but this isn’t well catered to in Cornwall- the odd option but often unimaginative and lack of choice. Coming to Dimpsy’s was a great choice. The interior was fresh and fab in 1950s American diner style with music played to match the theme. The waitress was welcoming, friendly and efficient but even better was the food! We ordered various versions using the chicken-style burger and none of us were disappointed, in fact quite the opposite. The burger itself was so good, thick, tasty and with a crunchy outside coating and then the various salad and sauces and bap or wrap were amazing together. We had a selection of ‘mozzarella’ sticks, tater tots and bbq loaded fries to share between the 3 of us and this was more than enough - we couldn’t eat it all but gave it a very good go! My daughter and I had the watermelon iced green tea - a summer special- and it was very nice. The menu is great and I hope to go back and try the delicious sounding desserts and milkshakes one day- my only complaint is that Dimpsy’s isn’t in Cornwall!

After being saddened by the loss of Samphire Brasserie, it was great to see an equally good vegan restaurant opened in its place! Dimpsy's serve absolutely delicious food with very generous portions. We had the 'Kruelty Free' combo with sides of mac & cheese, plus milkshakes. We look forward to returning and trying the rest of their menu.

Incredible breakfast. I often feel short changed ordering a vegan full breakfast, but not here!! Left me full until the evening. So delicious, a lot of care has gone into the recipes for the ‘eggs’ and you can tell. I wish I lived closer 💔

Clearly one of the best places to eat in Plymouth. We stayed for a month, and we tried several places to eat or dine: this is the one we repeated without hesitation. Both types of burgers are amazing, and the fries are perfect.

I visited for their fish and chip fry-day, it was the first time visiting and I really enjoyed it. The restaurant was nice and spacious, the service good (despite them being very busy) and the food tasty and well priced

Can't speak highly enough of Dimpsys! My husband and I always bring our dog and she gets spoilt with attention. It's so lovely to bring our pooch somewhere where dogs aren't just tolerated they're celebrated. The atmosphere is always so welcoming and staff are super friendly and amazing. And the food OMG! 10/10 we always enjoy the food here, so fresh and vegan too Can't ask for better! Also my husband eats meat and he STILL says the "beef" burger is the best burger he's ever had!!

My boyfriend is vegan and from the states, we visited for the first time in November so he could try the food challenge. He didn’t beat it but he did enjoy it! (Me too) We returned again in January for lunch. The food is so yummy! The staff are super friendly and inviting. I’m personally not vegan but we do eat out at a lot of vegan places and by far Dimpsys is our favourite. The raspberry ripple milkshake is to die for!! I highly recommend! We’ll be returning when he’s next over in the summer 🥰❤️

Me and my partner came for a late lunch. The dinner was amazing, as a meat eater I could barely tell the cheeseburger was plant based. The milkshakes were delicious. Will definitely be coming back!

The service was lovely and I absolutely loved the music. This was my first time trying a vegan chicken burger and I was pleasantly surprised with how chicken like it tasted! It was the tiniest bit too salty for my liking but it was delicious nevertheless! I also had the onion rings which were crispy and yummy. I would definitely come here again :D

LGBTQ-friendly, amazing food, great music, and cosy decor. If you love good food and the 50s vibe, go and try them. Their Sunday breakfast and Brisket is to die for! Impeccable service-- the staff are so nice and thoughtful. Once, my partner asked for a Fallout game style Nuka-cola float (coca-cola and cream soda with ice cream) and they made it! I've revisited Dimpsy's countless times since.

Never thought I’d be able to find a themed vegan diner in my life so finding this place felt like a gift from above. Incredible atmosphere, scrumptious food (can’t even tell it’s not real meat/milk) and the waiters were lovely. They were amazing with handling my extra allergies. Would absolutely recommend for anyone obsessed with 50s/60s America like me!

Favourite place to eat! Best place to grab take away as well! Outstanding milkshakes! And it's all vegan! Every thing we've tried we've loved, nothing has disappointed! The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, the music is upbeat and a good volume. The amount you're served is alot so for the cost it's pretty good in my opinion. Though for my birthday we got alot which can add up as all things can. Would highly recommend!

The good stuff. If your a long term vegan you will likely not realise what your missing from depth of flavour and really enjoy the food here. As a non Vegan or vegetarian I found the fake beef burger quite good as a whole considering the patty itself is only half the burger experience, the other half being bread cheese and sauces. The fake bacon was adequate at best but no where near as good as real bacon. The loaded fries particularly the fries themselves were good but the fake bacon bits topping didnt deliver on taste. The desert Sundae I had was very good. The restaurant is themed well in a 1950s style and is clean and well presented. Service was excellent and friendly. The Bad stuff. The restaurant was freezing, way to cold to feel comfortable for a meal in the evening,which is unacceptable.

We tried a good chunk of the menu and loved everthing; the tater tots and frickles especially were delicious and not something you'd find everywhere. The interior is so well done, looks like a proper American diner but not over the top. The service is also excellent, the guy who served us couldn't have been more welcoming and attentive. Will definitely come back to try their brunch menu!

This is probably our 7th or 8th visit. How is it possible that the food keeps getting better EVERY time. We visited as a family today and once again we were blown away. Such a lovely atmosphere and the waitress Tara is so kind and friendly. Our drinks orders were taken swiftly and food arrived in no time at all. Compliments to the chef because the food was amazing once again and we were left feeling full and satisfied. Three of us had the KFC (Kruetly Free Combo) and one of us a hot dog. The kids loved their meal and my partner and I too. Shoutout to the new menu, Dimpsy’s have really nailed it and we’re already planning another visit soon. I probably sound like a broken record to be honest but please give this place a try. If not for the fact they are a small business using cruelty free vegan ingredients with their heart in the right place, but for the genuine amazing tasting food and excellent staff too.

The food was some of the best vegan food i've ever had! The staff were lovely, and i'm a sucker for 50's diner vibe 10/10 would go again.

We have now chosen this as our favourite place to go eat as a family! The one and only Vegan American Diner! Dimpsy’s is the place to go if you love the fun fast food but this is done in a sophisticated way and the skill gone into creating the perfect burgers is honestly quite inspirational. As a kid I used to love going to the drive in diners on the motorway and Dimpsy’s Diner is now my go to place to get my fix as a Vegan! Our favourites are the Poutine Me Up burger, the Original ‘Beef’ Burger, of course the Tator Tots, the Smokin’ Dog, the Funnel Cake and Cookies and Cream Waffle! Just thinking about these makes me excited! Couldn’t fault the food, it’s always cooked to perfection, full of flavour which makes you feel like you’re in America and the presentation of how it’s served is also spot on. We will continue coming back! Definitely value for money, service excellent and music and decor great. Thank you for bringing this experience to Plymouth. One day we hope to see Dimpsy’s all over the country and on road trips! How cool would that be?! If you haven’t tasted this yet, get yourself booked in!

My sister recommended this place. It was brilliant! The food was excellent, good atmosphere and friendly staff. Came out completely stuffed! I especially enjoyed the tater tots and the bubblegum sundae.

New menu and it is amazing. Junk food abounds. High quality, big portions, low cost. Friendly staff and perfect American diner atmosphere with great '50s music. We are regulars here, eating in the eves as well as lunch. The bitchin brisket burger is to die for. The mac and cheese silky cmooth. Pouting me up burger is gravy heaven. And don't even get me started on the 5 types of loaded fries! We feel so lucky to have Dimpsy's Diner on our doorstep. 💚

Absolutely amazing food, best in town 🧡

Came here with friends and family, I am not a vegan and was a little apprehensive, but the food I had blew me away! I had the ‘chicken’ burger which was handmade and coated in a buttermilk style batter, the lettuce was fresh and the tater tots I had on the side were amazing and crispy! I had a Keylime milkshake which was very unique and had the most amazing vegan whipped cream on top, I couldn’t believe this was vegan. My friend had the brisket hotdog which I sampled a little of and once again, it was so meaty I couldn’t believe what I was eating. The tunes on the retro style jukebox were fab and took me back to being a child. We all had a little jig whilst eating and had a great time. We were served by a lovely waitress who was extremely friendly and funny. She was quick to serve us and take our order. The diner is also dog friendly which I think is lovely and there was a very well behaved pug in when we visited. The atmosphere is fantastic and I really love this little unique vegan find!

All the food I've tried have been wonderful and even won over my partner and dad who are big meat eaters ! Could not recommend more !

We stopped here on a drive down to Cornwall after finding them on Happy Cow, we’re so glad we did, the food is amazing. We had the Poutine Burger, Bitchin’ Brisket Burger, Mac n Cheese, Churros and Black Forest Sundae. All delicious. Service was great. If we lived nearby we’d be visiting here often. Unfortunately it’s a bit of a trek for us from Milton Keynes.

I've been to Dimpsy's a couple of times now. The service is always excellent - quick and friendly servers who make a genuine effort to chat to you. The food is INCREDIBLE, the portion sizes are generous (and fantastic value), and although I'm not vegan, it means the world to be able to eat at a restaurant and not worry about cow's milk being in anything (I have an intolerance). I particularly recommend the fried 'chicken' burger - it's one of the best burgers I've ever eaten. Fresh, crunchy lettuce, perfectly crispy and tasty batter, and you'd have no idea that the 'chicken' wasn't actual meat. Dimpsy's is now my go-to for food in Plymouth, and I recommend it to everyone. I hope they stick around for a very long time!

Slightly expensive for what it is but very moreish food, abundant helpings and such a fun atmosphere: 50s American diner meets 21st century veganism. Long live Dimpsy's Diner! We will be back.

Second time we have been to Dimpsy's this time it was for their first steak night and wow absolutely fantastic and this comment is from a non vegan a credit to all the staff just what Plymouth needs

We tried this place for first time today and will definitely be returning again! We were super excited to try and were not disappointed. The best thing was that both our children also enjoyed the food. My youngest son loved that his food came out in a car box and they accommodated his taste by doing sliced cucumber as a side instead of the apple, which is his favourite. My eldest is normally quite picky but he finished all of his hotdog. Portion sizes were good and we all left full. Couldn’t fit desert but they let us order a chocolate milkshake for my son to takeaway. Our server was friendly and checked that all was ok and was prompt in checking if we needed anything further. Nice range of choices. Lovely atmosphere.

Having tried this as an impromptu dinner when I first found it and realised it was fully booked, this time we did book ahead. We were both looking forward to trying out the menu. I had the regular burger and Mac and cheese with a key lime milkshake. The vegan burger was great and whatever it was made of, a very "meaty" pattie that did a great stand in for the real deal. My milkshake was nice , if a little artificial. I got Loki vibes. If anyone has watched that series, the pie they've eaten on that lately, well my shake was that colour and I imagine probably tasted very similar. My Mac and cheese was just ok. I was kind of expecting something a bit special and more American inspired maybe, like some of the YouTube's I have seen of Mac and cheese. My mate had a great looking "chicken" burger and chips. The portions were very generous. We considered pudding but didn't think we could fit it in after our meal. The service was great. Super friendly, helpful and everything came pretty quickly. All in all, I enjoyed myself. I will say, whilst I have only given the food a 4 star. This may be just what I had ordered and I am definitely up for trying more on the menu. I would definitely recommend you try this place out. As they have plenty of different stuff on the menu, you may not get other places. Also, great of course for that veggie/vegan choice.

Second time visiting Dimpsy's and loved it just as much as the first. A vegan American diner with classic tunes is exactly what Plymouth, and we, needed! We were all geared up for burgers and then spotted the Shrimp Po'Boy special and shut the front door were we glad to have changed our minds! Succulent vegan shrimps that looked, felt and tasted like their shellfish equivalent without, y'know, the suffering! The hotdog bun they came in was delicious and the seafood sauce to die for! The waitress branded the dish "sexy shrimp" - she was correct. We added sides of Tater Tots and Onion Rings and Dimpsy's is not shy on portions! Just how we like it! We rounded off with the pecan pie and ice cream which was, quite frankly, divine. I very nearly went for a burger instead of dessert the food is that good but would probably not have made it back to the car, so for the best. I hate saying "the waitress" but we failed to ask her name so...the waitress is lovely and just the right level of attentive. Very chatty and friendly which adds to the laid back atmosphere. Big thanks to Laura, the owner, for turning out some of the best vegan food we have tasted! Can't recommend Dimpsy's highly enough. Take your non-vegan family and friends and blow their minds! And watch out for themed nights!

We stopped by to celebrate a special occasion. The food portions are generous and well made. Cannot believe how delicious the vegan fishy specials were we’re still ranting and raving about them!! Service was quick and really friendly. Always a pleasure to visit Dimpsy’s we can’t wait to go again!!
