Visited whilst on a wee holiday, food was fresh and delicious. Service was top notch. Tried the chefs specials and they were great. I'd definitely recommend. Great job guys.

Chicken tikka tandoori is really delicious, the chicken is tender. The rice is great too, no food colouring, no saffron, just tasty rice. Curry sauce isnt oily either! Staff always go out their way to get you what you want and value constructive feedback

Ordered a takeaway from here and I have to say the food was very very good. We had Garlic chicken korma, chicken puri and fish pakora. The pakora was sublime, perfectly cooked and fresh accompanied with a lovely dipping sauce. The korma sauce was the star of the show, lovely and garlicky without being overwhelming, the chicken was ok, not particularly outstanding but ok. The puri was absolutely delicious, a wonderfully tangy sauce with perfectly cooked Indian bread and an excellent chicken, pepper and onion filling. Highly recommended.

Ordered a carry out from the menu, service was very helpful and friendly ,wasn’t sure what I fancied the girl helped me pick. Her recommendation was awesome. Can fault the staff or the food and the price was good for the amount we got,will definitely be back soon.

I had a delivery the other night from rasa and everything arrived quickly. I ordered the butter Paneer and vegetable biryani everything tasted fantastic, best authentic Indian food I have ever tasted. Would definitely recommend💯😋😋

I picked up a collection from rasa for me and my girlfriend, rasa did not disappoint us with the excellent food and service. My girlfriend had a desi chicken tikka Bhuna with nan and I had chicken tikka special korma. Both very fantastic and the flavours were out of this world. Would highly recommend giving rasa a try 😍😋

Small and very good restaurant. The service is friendly and makes an effort for you. The south Indian garlic is delicious and so is the butter chicken.

Amazing food and atmosphere. Plenty of choice on the menu. Large portion sizes. Honestly the best curries in Cumbernauld. If you’re missing Maska from Greenfaulds, this is the same owner and chef, so you can get your Maska favourites from Rasa.

We made an order from here on saturday night . Cost us over £60. The korma had 7 small pieces of chicken . My rogan josh had about 8 small bits of chicken . The lamb curry had about 7 small bits of lamb . The flavours of the currys and the quality of the meat were really good but didnt have enough meat. They were all mostly sauce . I phoned to query this today to be told that this is the normal amount for a curry. I feel for the price of them you should be getting alot more meat . The korma was for 2 kids to share and there wasnt enough for them . I wouldnt order again based on the portion sizes.

Cracking meal... Was quiet as we were early walk ins.Meal was the best Indian meal I have ever tasted, the flavours and sauces were mouthwatering... This is a wee gem that I hope folk visit.. Shame to miss out!

Went for dinner for the first time and was pleasantly surprised staff very good, food better than other local Indian restaurants I've visited, wine Chilean sauvignon blanc £13 very good value and very drinkable, one small suggestion would be to have 1 more waiter / server on weekends, but all in all a little local gem 💎 try for yourself. !! very strange this review was for the INVITATION restaurant !! In Cumbernauld village, last year but for some reason someone changed the name to !! RASA !! restaurant I have never been to RASA as it is only newly opened so I can't review somewhere I haven't been too don't go by this review looks like RASA highjacked the previous restaurant's REVIEWS and claimed them as their own

Nice place, went in a Sunday so it was very quiet. Good portions and food was nice.

Service was exceptional. A very nice French guy (who's name escapes me) in particular was helpful and friendly. After eating in other restaurants in the area the 4 of us found the food excellent, draught lager was great! Wine list may need a wee refresher! Portions are huge, we ordered WAY to much on the rice, chips and breads. No complaints though. I live in Fife and would happily travel to Cumbernauld for a meal from here!

Tried the butter chicken today with peshwari naan and it was splendid, the sauce tasted fantastic, full of flavor and the naan was soft and hot! Will be back again to try the rest!

Ordered a delivery first time trying won’t be back , pakora rock solid and expected some sort of onion or salad with it also a pakora sauce but it was a chilli sauce which was also not the best , rice tasted starchy? Like it was boiled and not rinsed? Chicken curry 5 small bits of chicken in it and sauce watery … chips were good , asked for garlic Nan got a Nan with a lick of garlic if you can say that could hardly smell it or taste it , only good tho bff was delivery time , the food all went in the bin

Recently changed hands from Inviation to Rasa. Loved Inviation so gave this a try. Food decent, however expensive for what we got. £14.50 for a mix tandoori meat which consided of 3 small chicken pieces and 3 lamb peices. Mixed pakora for £6.90 - 6 pieces, one nan and a lamb curry for £41 in total.

Now called "Rasa Indian Restaurant" under new owners along with a new chef, oh dear, not a patch on the previous chef/food. Went from the best in Cumbernauld to just another run-of-the-mill Indian one in the area.

Enjoyed our meal at this fabulous restaurant. We are both vegetarians & sometimes it's hard to find variety on a menu but plenty to choose from. Staff were very polite & friendly. We'll definitely be back.

Popped in at the last minute for a meal and we were not disappointed. The menu was varied and the food was excellent - fresh and full of flavour. We received great service too. A great night in our local area so we’ll definitely be back.

Had a takeaway from here, the chicken tikka was just like plain chicken, had no flavour and the curry sauce was also tasteless. Wouldnt order again. A real shame as the spiced onions were sensational.

This place is without a doubt a hidden gem! The food was absolutely amazing, bursting with flavour and extremely fresh; the meat was very soft and juicy. We tried several dishes and every single one was gorgeous! The portion sizes were perfect, be it starters, mains, or sides. The service was impecable; our server was very friendly while keeping a highly professional attitude, and always paying attention to our needs and checking in. An overall amazing experience and would we be locals, we would definitely be regulars! Recommend trying it should you be in the area!

This must be the best meal that I’ve ever had in an Indian restaurant. It was a celebration meal for our wedding anniversary and everything was delicious, fresh food and wonderful flavours. The staff are so friendly as well.

Attended this restaurant with friends and can say from start to finish the service was first class. Good choice on the menu and it didn’t disappoint when it arrived. Highly recommend this restaurant and thanks for a great meal.

Went here for pre theatre meal and food was quite good. The Gorkhali Chicken i had was really good, i found sweet with a kick, worth a try. Nice venue, staff polite. Was a wee bit of a delay in taking plates away after starter finished. Would go back to try the main menu.

Went with two other friends for dinner. We had a fabulous meal with delicious starters and mains. Reasonable priced and great quality in a clean welcoming family run restaurant. All three of us will definitely be back soon.

Lovely Nepalese restaurant in Cumbernauld Village. Food was great, lamb chops were such a tasty starter. Had the spicy 🌶️ lamb dish for main, and the quality of the meat and flavour of the sauce was fantastic. Great staff providing a service way beyond their price range. Can’t wait to try more of the menu 🤞🏼

Moved to Cumbernauld 2 years ago and used many Indian Takeaways, but Invitation is by FAR the best! Delicious starters and mains, and always conistent!

Picked up my son off his ship and taking him to the west coast for Christmas we were hungry so came off the motorway looking for food What luck! We found Invitation. Service was first class and the food was excellent We had haggis pakora and garlic mushrooms for starters, Butter chicken and South Indian garlic chilli chicken. Excellent we lived in India and this is one of the best Indian meals we’ve had in years

First time ordering a takeaway from the restaurant and it won't be the last. The food was superb. We ordered a meal for 2 and the food was excellent. 2 mains, rice, garlic naan and onion bajis plus they threw in a couple of poppadoms and some dips. Couldn't even finish it, well my wife couldn't....looking forward to ordering from here again.

Placed an order on their website at 3.30 for a delivery before 5.45 used monzo to pay to the money went right away called up when food didn't arrive they said no record of the transaction , used to be really happy with this restaurant but that's the last couple of times they have messed up .

Lamb biryani is awesome as well as the chicken pakora, sauce and lamb chops amongst other dishes... well yum!

Just delicious, accommodated my wifes choice of vegetarian and couldn't have been more helpful. Even let us try a taste of paneer before we ordered. Good job guys we will definitely recommend.

Right on my doorstep (ok 10 minutes walk). Food always excellent and value for money,great choice menu and drinks. The staff are attentive and really pleasing to talk to. Give it a go,you won’t be disappointed.

Not been out for food since moving here in February, so decided we would go out for something and it had to be Indian. I checked local restaurants near me. Checked reviews and was definitely not disappointed. What a fabulous meal we had. Service and staff great. Can’t wait to go again. Thank you

First time back at Invitation since before Covid and realised how much I missed it.The young waiter who served was so good advising us on various dishes.Three of us had different meals and every one of them were excellent.There is a good atmosphere about it and it is spotlessly clean.Can’t recommend it highly enough.If you’ve never been please give it a try you won’t be disappointed.

I've had many takeaways from this restaurant and was never dissapointed. The food is always delivered on time, hot, fresh and very tasty.

My husband and I visited with our toddler for a family meal to celebrate my husbands birthday and our anniversary. They have great choices of food available for children and have a high chair aswell. They have a wide variety of dishes to suit all different tastes from sweet to spicy and the food is full of flavour. The staff are so attentive and cannot do enough for you but do not pester you. The staff were aware we were visiting to celebrate our anniversary and even arranged a slice of cake and decorated the plate (we had started eating before I thought to take a picture). All over a great visit and left very happy.

Me and my wife been to this restaurant a few times now and have eaten a variety of dishes, all of which have been wonderful!  Clearly, some thought went into the ingredients. Spices in the right proportions to add flavour without being overbearing. The staff are extremely pleasant and attentive, and the service is excellent!

Went down to this place when staying at Double Tree Hilton Hotel which is only 20 min walk. Staff were professional and kind. I was recommended Gorkali Chicken which was absolutely amazing!!! My partner went for his usual favourite Chicken Madras and also loved it. I wish we lived closer, this would be my go to restaurant. Thanks for the lovely staff helping us with the menu. Hopefully we will see you soon!

Visited the invitation at the beginning of July with a friend and I would give it a solid 4 out of 5. I have been to better Indian restaurants but also a lot worse.Rang up the restaurant 45 minutes before attending to book a table and was able to get one easily. Service upon getting to the restaurant was very good, we ordered drinks and poppadoms and we got them very quickly however the poppadoms were cold.We then ordered starters and mains and recieved the starters very quickly after finishing the poppadoms. Sadly the poppadoms were cold and hadn't been warned up. The starters though tasted very good I had a shish kebab and my friend had a Tandoori chicken.However we had to wait about 20 minutes after we'd finished our starters for our mains, and after other tables who'd ordered their food after us. The frustrating thing about this was that as soon as we'd finished our starters the waiter told us our food be here soon and it wasn't. Every other table in the restaurant were served before us.That said when the main course came it was delicious. Then when we paid the bill which myself and my friend split I didn't actually find out how much I paid until I left the restaurant and found that service had been added on to my card despite us leaving service on the plate. A little cheeky.All in all though the food was fantastic. Just a shame about the cold poppadoms and giving service twice.

My favourite take out in Cumbernauld because I love restaurant style take way and the flavour is always miles better and you can always tell by how fresh the rice and meals taste .. my husband and I always Order a chicken Lazeez Laljal and pilau rice with poppadoms and it is amazing , always full of spice and flavour ,it is my new craving at least twice a week I had to resist the urge to order or we’d be bankrupt .. we are hoping to come in and sit for dinner soon to have the full experience but if your looking for a great flavourable take out this is the place .. best in Cumbernauld and we’ve just moved here in December so tried a few places and none hit the spot like invitation ❤️ We will order again at the weekend hopefully or we will come in for dinner

Tried this Nepalese / Indian during a stay in Cumbernauld. Good COVID compliance . Building is old and facilities such as toilets need refurbishment. The food was excellent …. and in the Nepalese style. Reasonably priced and a good selection of drinks including Indian beer.We went back a second tie at the end of our stay.

Haven't sat in the restaurant yet but I've used it for takeaways a lot and haven't had a bad meal or experience yet.

Amazing food. Whether it’s Lazeez Laljal Lamb Chops or mushrooms, the spices dance in our mouths. They know their stuff.

Food is immense. The restaurant decor isn't five star but the food and staff make up for it.

My husband and I visited this restaurant tonight and what a treat it was. Felt completely safe with all social distancing rules being followed, track n trace, hand sanitizer and masks to to worn unless sitting at your table. Food was fantastic and the portion size was huge ( even we struggled and we can eat a lot haha ) we had poppdoms with a selection of dips, pakora again with dips, chicken tikka, nann bread, rice With a curry sauce n side salad. All freshly cooked and well presented. We also would like to mention our waiter whom was french and now living here in Cumbernauld to aid his work. He was very polite, well spoken, knowledgeable and friendly. He is a credit to this establishment. Will definitely return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this restaurant to friends.

We were recommended Invitation last year and we are so glad that we found this place - the food is great! We’ve tried lots of different curries in that time and they have all been beautiful. If you are considering trying Invitation then please do, don’t be put off by the decor - it could do with a full revamp inside but the food speaks for itself. The portions are always a great size too. The service is always good and I couldn’t recommend this place enough!! The only reason that I’m not giving this place full 5*s is because the interior could do with updating but please don’t let that put you off! We will be back time and time again.

Got a carry out meal here last night, and when I got home the nan bread I ordered and paid for was not in the bag, I called to tell them this and they said they would give me a five pound credit (double the cost of the nan) That is not why I am giving this excellent review though. We tried new dishes we had never tried before The chicken momo dumpling and accompanying curry paste dip was delicious, the wifes gorkhali chicken was superb and my lakeside fish dish was out of this world. I am so pleased with the standard of food I wont be cashing in my five pound credit. Thank You Invitation keep up the good work....and like Arnie Schwarznegger....I'll Be Back

This was probably the finest sub continent food I have had in the UK. The memos were a new and amazing discovery, and the rogan josh definitely best I have had.

We've only had the takeaway, but it is some of the best food we've had. Flavoursome, fresh and good sizes. The sort of food you miss if you haven't had it in a while. Never had a momo before, now we're not sure how we lived without them. The selection of curries for children is excellent, and great to be able to have them eating the same type of food as the grown-ups. Our daughter says she doesn't like curry, but gets very excited about food from Invitation. Every time we've ordered its been delivered on time, hot and with all the correct items. We prefer to phone in our order to make sure they get all of the money, and the staff are always polite, friendly and attentive. Can't wait to visit the restaurant in person.

Just had takeaway tonight after reading the reviews and I must say I was disappointed.Got garlic nann bread and asked for it well done and extra garlic... it was extremely dry and tasted shop bought.Main courses were very average, and pakora had a strange batter.Sorry but won’t be buying from there again.Can’t understand why people have given this place such good reviews.

Folks I’m not going to beat about the bush here, this is the best Indian restaurant we have found the family run feel and Nepalese flavours are outstanding, we’ve eaten here so many times now it’s hard to go anyplace else.

My son recommended this place. He’d sat in before lockdown. We’ve now had takeaway a few times during lockdown and the food has been amazing and always piping hot when we get it. Best food in town.

I had a takeaway the other night food was lovely though I had Hymilayan prawns. Lovely sauce but hardly any fish (3/4)
