Dalshannon Farm Indian Restaurant in North Lanarkshire

Had a very good curry. 1 rice portion between 2 people was more than enough. Starters are a bit on the small side so better to get a few different ones if you are wanting to try different ones and share.

Very average. Not as good as I remembered. Won't rush back

Excellent food as always, but sadly, service on Saturday was poor three times. we asked to place our order, and then we had to ask four times for the bill. If I wasn't so polite, I could have walked out without paying with the way we were being ignored.

After hearing so many good things about this place and finally getting around to visit we were disappointed to say the least. Food is not up to restaurant standards, have had better food from your average takeaways. Extremely disappointed and definitely wouldn't waste money in here again.

Worst South Indian Garlic dish ever. Tasteless, will never return here, absolutely shocking, maybe the chef had an off night but oh my goodness it was so bad.

Takeaway….. chicken pakora was ok ……. Chicken bhoona was poor ….. watery sauce and chicken tough but white…. Another mediocre Indian meal from this place , no more chances….Shame though as the reviews led me to try again…. Disappointed!….. Tesco curry would be a better option than this place!!…. Never again!!!!.

Food tasty, so compliments to the chef ✅ but.. the front of house and food/drink service was awful. Been here a handful of times, this will defo be the last. Meet/greet and waiting staff were unfriendly & inefficient. Examples were - not accommodating a simple request for seating pref, couldn’t be bothered to explain the menu and waiting/reminding for drinks to arrive. And the sign of a poor establishment.. when we left, no one bothered to say thanks/bye 🤬

Takeaway never arrived as they guy cancelled the order . They took the money and never refunded or phoned to say there was a problem. Still waiting on refund

1st time using home delivery. Heard good things about this restaurant, we were very disappointed, home delivery should have been within 1hour, arrived 1hr 45mins later. Meal was freezing cold and the portion size value for money was shocking, curry was also bland. It’s a shame I’ve never wrote a review before, for me to do so says it all!

Amazing Chasni and great prices. Will definitely be back! Been back multiple times and still amazing. Back yet again and Chasni still as good. Also very accomodating if you need advice on dietary recommendations like dairy free etc.

Having read some recent reviews I was a wee bit concerned that the quality had slipped since my last visit a few years ago. However I had nothing to worry about. I had booked for dinner but circumstances forced a change to takeaway. The food was as good as I remember, portion sizes perfect, delivery time wasn't too long. My partner has never had a meal from Dalshannon and he was delighted at the quality, taste and service. It's tough in hospitality right now. Be kind!!

Thanks to the team at the Dalshannon Farm for another lovely night with Brilliant Food. Four of us went for a great meal. Warm welcome from all the team when we walked in. Very well taken care off until we left. I love great service. We started with the mixed sharing platter and poppadom with onions and delicious selection of India dips. Great for the four of us. Main was three tandoori sizzlers Chicken,Lamb and King Prawn. Great sauces, salad and rice served with it. Also had South Indian garlic chilli chicken. So lovely. We had gorgeous puffy Nan breads and chips too. What we did not finish, as the portions are generous, we took home. It’s a brilliant restaurant. Make sure you pay it a visit.

Dalshanan Farm was the next on the list of “Scottish Curry Award winners”. I’ve been looking forward to this for a few weeks since visiting two other winners (Edinburgh). We drove 80 miles each way for what we expected to be a great curry. Unfortunately the experience didn’t live up to the expectation. We ordered a mixed platter to start which was just a plate of deep fried things! Over cooked (especially the samosa) , dry and pretty bad. A shame considering the reputation. My curry was bland, under seasoned and zero spice. I did raise this and the fantastic waiter (I suspect owner) changed it for another dish that apparently had more flavour. It did come out quickly but unfortunately had marginally more flavour and was spicier but absolutely doesn’t warrant the “HOT” warning. Looking at some reviews on here it seems like things have changed since they won the award. It was a long way to go for a meal that wasn’t memorable at all. Such a shame.

We ordered a takeaway from Dalshannon farm. It was very expensive and absolutely tasteless. We will not be ordering again. Out of four curry's ordered only one was eaten. So much went in the bin.

Christmas Day…… i really wanted to love this as enjoy going to the Dalshannon farm however our Christmas Day experience was incredibly underwhelming, absolutely nothing festive about the experience, no decorations ,no music , no welcome drink , no atmosphere, staff looked like they would rather have been somewhere else, slow service , unbelievably had to pay for rice, naan etc , sorry to say it felt like i was popping in for a cheap curry after a night on the beers . Probably the worst experience at this restaurant, all the more disappointing as it was a REALLY!! expensive cheap cold curry , will not be going back and would never recommend to anyone

Me and my boyfriend have come twice within the last 6 weeks and have decided to make it a regular occurrence. By far the best Indian restaurant I’ve visited and I’m a massive Indian food lover! Even the spiced onions are the best I’ve ever tasted. A fantastic restaurant £30 for a meal for 2 we got 3 soft drinks, veg pakora, poppadoms and spiced onions, curry, naan and rice. Can’t beat it!

Visited tonight with 2 of our grandkids.We've eaten here on numerous occasions but hadn't been since we got a poor takeaway about a year or so ago. Anyway,sat down at the table for 4(holes in table cloth),asked for the wine list...Don't have one, you basically guess what you want,and don't know how much it costs.? ODD!! Ordered poppadums,spiced onions,Pakora and main meals for 4.Poppadums came with spiced onions followed 10 minutes later by pakora and kids meals(we were still eating the poppadums)?..10 minutes later our main meals came.Food was 'O.K' but nothing startling.One of the kids had a sweet which was nice,asked for the bill and when that came it was impossible to decipher... Needless to say,it's had it's chance and I'll try elsewhere next time.Shame really because it's a nice setting and building but it's definitely slipped.

One of the best curry’s I’ve ever had!! Waiter was very funny and friendly and answered any questions we had and gave great food recommendations. If I’m ever in the area in future, I will definitely come back, everything was delicious. Thanks again.

This restaurant was recommended by our taxi driver who insisted in was the best place to eat in Cumbernauld. He was not wrong, fantastic food, hospitality and excellent value for money. Will most definitely return & recommend if in the area. The haggis pakora’s were out of this world.

Would have been a 5 if our waiter did not, in front of us, take card payment, then cash tip of £15, place £10 in his pocket and £5 in hand. He was not our only server but seems to be cheating others out tip.

Delicious Indian food which was served promptly. The restaurant is lovely to sit in with plenty of room for larger parties. There is also a bar which is very good 👍 and well staffed . Not too expensive either . Thank you for a great night on Saturday.

Very nice food and helpful staff

Literally got 5 tiny pieces of pakora with a minuscule salad. Then the mains came out and my curry had 2 small pieces of hard potato, a handful of mushrooms and 3 small pieces of cauliflower. Our bill was £60 and we left hungry. On top of that, the flavour was bland. Their local competitors blow this place out the water on flavour, portion size and cost. We won’t be back

Food was good and great value for money

Nice premises and sit in. Had a disappointing takeaway one time (bhuna sauce was very watery) but eat here quite often and was clearly just a blip. Good selection of food and tasty.

First time trying a takeaway from here, very disappointing. The onion bhaji rings were horrible. Hard, dry batter surrounding something unrecognisable. The pakora? Again, dry batter and the chicken pakora was particularly hard. The 2 pooris were ok and the korma was quite nice. The rice and the pakora sauce were the stars of the show, too little, too late though. I don’t like posting negative reviews but this was genuinely disappointing, whoever put those bhaji rings in a bag and thought they were acceptable has no love of food. I’ll give this place a miss next time I fancy Indian food. However, other reviews seem to be very positive so I guess I just got them on a bad night.

Good food and usually decent service but on this last visit staff seemed generally disinterested. We waited to order coffees at the end of our meal but no-one came near us and in the end we just paid the bill and left. Spoiled what was otherwise a good meal. Fish pakora is especially recommended.

Very clean restaurant with very polite and friendly staff. Food is delicious!!!

Well organised in the current pandemic. Good screening and sanitiser arrangements. Food was, from beginning to end, absolutely delicious. Service was excellent and attentive. However, one point to note is that the 1.5 hour table slot does make it all feel a bit too rushed. Assumption is that this is due to distancing and capacity balancing, but it does mean that it's a 4 star experience and not a 5!

Food was good when we got it. Service was awful. There was only 3 staff in diningroom one of who ran in took our order. Ran back with our starters. Then our plates sat for 3/4 hour. Had booked table for 7.30. Didn't finish eating till 9.15. There was a function on I noticed. Wouldn't recommend going at pay weekend or when theirs a function on.

We went here with friends. Staff are very friendly. Ordered starters of mixed pakora and a platter. Was ok. Mains were tandoori mix tikka,king prawn tikka, chicken tikka and south Indian garlic chicken. Meals were ok. Chicken tikka nice but never really liked tandoori chicken. King prawns were lovely. Naan bread nice. Service very good but felt food was just average.

This is by far the best restaurant in Cumbernauld . Attentive staff and food is very decent. Both meals were superb and always make sure I eat here every couple of months. Well worth a visit if in the area.

Indian food is good and plenty of drinks to choose from

Visited on Saturday night and after reading all the great reviews I thought it may compare to some of the Indian Restaurants in Glasgow or Edinburgh that I have frequented over the years.

Brought in the New Year for the first time at the Dal. Had a ball. Started at 7:30 ended at 1:00. Food was great, choice excellent including steak pie for those who don't like spicy food or prefer traditional Hogmanay food...not us. The spicier the better and we were spoiled for choice. Disco with great choice of music, dancing, chatting, laughing with family and strangers it was the best. The Congo through the restaurant was fun led by a member of staff. A night to remember and what a way to welcome 2020. Now altogether Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot definitely Not. Planning to book next year's event

Could not believe my bill when it arrived as I was charged £14 for 4 glasses of soda water ! We eat out every weekend and never ever have I been charged anything near this . Totally put me off returning here as I normally go to other restaurants nearby and will go back to doing just that due to been absolutely ripped off with the drink charges. Soda Water should never be charged at these kind of prices .
