I visited the Indian Villa on a Friday evening when staying at a nearby hotel. The restaurant was very quiet with only a few tables occupied. Décor is light and airy and tables were nicely presented. I was warmly welcomed and given a table in the window. Once seated the main and drinks menus were brought. There is a good selection of beers and lagers and my lager was served nicely chilled. An excellent start to any meal As usual I had my standard of poppadums, vegetable pakora – a must when in Scotland, chicken madras, rice and naan bread. Poppadoms were crisp with no hint of an oily taste and mango chutney was thick with mango pieces The vegetable pakora was excellent with a good variety of vegetables. My chicken was very tender and moist and the rice fluffy with well separated grains. Both portions were on the generous side All were served quickly and with just the right time between each course. The staff were attentive and repeatedly checked that the fare was satisfactory and whether my drink needed replenishing A very good meal and I will certainly visit again when breaking my journey south in Motherwell Meal cost approx. £25 / head

Went there for dinner. Expected an indian taste for the food but unfortunately it's all altered for scottish taste. Indians don't go there if you are looking for at least something 50% indian. The food is just sweet and there is nothing spicy. I don't blame the owners but that's what sells here. Anyways I ordered chicken tikka bitiyani, samosas and chicken platter. Platter was somewhat better that the rest of the food. If you are looking for something authentically indian , I don't suggest this restaurant for you.

The food is good and the staff are friendly but the place is far to cramped there wasn't enough space on the table for the food. The table was pushed tight against us and there was no elbow room and I mean none it really made it a horrible experience just wanted out as fast as possible

Food was lovely. Starter mixed pakora was really small considering there were 2 adults n.2 kids. I think we got 1 pakora each lol. Customer service was good, with staff quite attentive to our needs. But expensive for what we got, but atleast food was very nice. Need to modernise the billing system. Hand written scribbled receipts which you can't make out. Portions very small. Had great hopes for this place, but overall feel a bit ripped off. Won't recommend.

Superb Food , Great Management Team , Great Chef Clearly and Amazing Food Doesn’t matter what you order it’s fantastic ! We use this Indian regularly and you don’t get anything but great service and looked after ! It is a hidden gem and I find it a surprise that so many more don’t use it ! Didn't need to book as we went early on a Friday (opens 4pm). Big choice of curries, from old favourites, lots we'd never come across and some really good chefs specials. Comfortable, and the service was very quick and friendly. Definitely recommend.

Another great trip to the Indian Villa. Got a nice table for two at the window and were very quickly supplied with two cold pints. We shared a starter Platter for 2 and everything on it was superb - plenty for the two of us to get through. I then ordered a Lamb Parsee and it was amazing. The soft lamb just melted away! Garlic naan excellent too. Great service, great food, great pints! Perfection!

Fantastic food at a great price

£15.20 for a Jalfrazi & chicken pakora… no rice/naan, to be fair it is usually good from the 2 other times I have been but to pay that for a curry that literally tasteless I’m not happy. Pakora was lovely.

First of all, the food is outstanding. However, really disappointed in tonight's service. Booked for 6pm table of 8, got seated 30 minutes late. Fine, these things happen. Got seated, no acknowledgement of the fact we're getting seated half an hour late. Bit poor. Starters come. Fine. Waited almost an hour on mains. Bill comes, no info on bill, just some messy scribbles and a total amount. Some basic calculations figures they didn't even give anything free or a discount (standard etiquette for a restaurant in these circumstances and etiquette I've received from this restaurant before). All in all, staff are friendly, food is good, but the lack of acknowledgement or care for their poor service tonight was disgraceful. Lost a lot of regular future customers.

The bad. Table not available until 30 minutes after reservation time, no real apology, told it would be 15 minutes, was over 30. Service was average, nothing more. Took well over an hour for main courses to arrive, again, not great. The good. Starters was chicken poori, was okay, nothing more. Spiced onions were good. Nan breads were very, very good. Mains were generally very good, rice average, chips good. Overall food wise this was decent quality, but the service simply wasn’t nearly good enough, nor was the acknowledgement from staff that they fecked up by clearly overbooking. Sitting kids in a car outside for 30 minutes wasn’t expected.

I came across this restaurant by chance and it was a great chance! Superb food from an extensive menu. The portion size is great and the cooking excellent, the Goannese Fish and Prawns is to die for and the curry is top quality! They also do a take away and so a doggy bag is not a problem. If I lived closer you’d never get me out of the place. Well done, no wonder you are so busy!

Been a regular in this wonderful restaurant for 3 decades. Can’t fault it and it’s easily my favourite Indian Restaurant in Scotland.

Portions on the small side, but food was excellent.

I am not a lover of Indian food to rich for my palette, but partial to an Onion Bagee , so had that as a starter with some chutney loved every morsel of them . Had the fish amazing is an understatement, best I have had anywhere great staff interaction and so polite prices was good for our large group will endeavour to eat there again

Have had a meal here many times. It has been quite a while since we have visited though. I must say, the portions have definitely gotten smaller and there is not as much choice. The meals were just okay. Not as good as it used to be going on this latest experience. Service was quite slow too.

Feel bad giving 3 stars but not quite worth 4 stars, would prefer to give 3.5 The positives, staff very friendly, food was tasty and edible, the negatives, service a bit slow, could be because it was a busy night and they only had 2 staff, one serving drinks and one taking orders, plus lots of takeaways being collected, the food was average really, nothing stood out, and the toilets weren't overly clean, they were very dated and old looking, made me wonder what the kitchen was like. But overall not a bad meal and handy for the concert hall for a pre-show meal.

Food was excellent. Ordered a takeaway but took nearly an hour and a half to come so that wasn't so good as we were starving. That said once it came it was great. A star off for the waiting time otherwise it would have been 5 stars.

Can't fault it. Their food is really good, we ate here 2x in 1 week! Staff formal and quiet but friendly whenever you chat with them. I've never had Goanese curry before which I saw was available on their menu so I ordered it. That was divine! Hubby ordered the mushroom poori and we both enjoyed that as well as the chickpea in my samosa starter. This will be one of our go to place now for Indian food as soon as we move to Glasgow in a few months time.

My wife was one of a party of 11 who were there for a special birthday celebration for one of her friends last night. The food was delicious, service excellent and the waiters even joined in “ happy birthday “ . Great night had by all,and our waiter went above and beyond to make sure we were having a good time. We will be back.

Good place for Indian vegetarian food if you are in Motherwell. It was busy even though it wad Monday so advance booking of a table is recommended irrespective of which day you are planning. Parking is free right at the back of Restaurant which is big plus. Only backdrop was cost. It was bit expensive than usual. One veg curry was of £12.95 which is bit upsetting but taste was good.

Visited here before going a match while in Motherwell recently. A fab menu with loads of choices and dishes that I hadn’t ever seen in an Indian before. Service was fabulous and the food was gorgeous.

Very disappointed and angry with the service we received tonight. We ordered a takeaway at 6.20 and never received the food until 8.15 despite the website stating it was a 40min wait. Phoned to ask about our delivery and was told it was just leaving the shop, not even an apology given! The food eventually turned up freezing cold and had to be heated up. Really disappointed tonight as the food is nice but we wont ordering again.

The food here is wonderful I’m a veggie and follow a plant based diet and the veggie/vegan curries including Dahl and Indian mixed vegetables are delicious. My non vegan boyfriend also raves about the yummy food. Staff really friendly. Highly recommended 👍🏻

Got a takeaway after reading there reviews and looked good, not only do they not do set meals on a Saturday but the food was disgusting. Garlic Nan bread had no flavour, chicken korma tasted like dishwater with no flavour and the curry was just spice!!! Absolutely horrible a waste of £28 will be sticking to where I know in the future. And the staff are rude aswell

I am totally disgusted with the customer service received from owners at the Indian Villa. I used to get a takeaway every second weekend however will not be going again. Firstly they got my order incorrect on 2 occasions and when I called they said I had ordered the wrong thing, considering I get the same thing time after time. Secondly they said I had not paid, which they had taken the wrong card details and when they called me back I informed them they had 1 digit wrong. Thirdly when I called a week later they told me they already had my card details which I had not consented to them keeping. They reluctantly came on the phone and put the person who originally answered the phone in a difficult position by just telling him what to say. Gave them 1 star as the site wouldn’t allow me to give them no stars.

Called up to place a takeaway and they informed me that I had not paid in the last 4 times. Checked my bank account and found valid statements of payment to them. Also found out that they hold your card details so watch out, stay clear and avoid at all cost to maintain your integrity and money.

The Indian Villa is the finest Indian Restaurant around. Consistent in Quality. Fresh Ingredients cooked perfectly. No where comes close in the authentic taste and quality/selection of dishes. Small but Quality !. Management are super friendly and loyal to there regulars. 10/10 and Highly Recommend. Deserve Recognition

We ordered a delivery last night and was really looking forward to this. However, after starting to unpack it the main meal which was supposed to be chicken tandoori off the Bone. There was about four pieces of tandoori tikka and the rest was made up of lamb tandoori which was uneatable. I called and spoke to the person who took the order. He admitted the kitchen staff had messed the order up and assured me someone would call me back within an hour to arrange a refund. That was at approximately around 7.30 and yes I am still waiting on the call.

The food at the Indian Villa is amazing, especially any of the lamb meals or the sizzling chicken tikka. The peshwari nan is outstanding! The cobra lager here must be my favourite pint from anywhere. Really cold and tastes lovely. The restaurant is small enough for personal and friendly service and all the staff are really friendly and attentive. As a bonus the food is reasonable priced too. Simply outstanding.

I’ve been to Indian restaurants all over the UK and the Indian Villa is 2nd to none. The chicken tikka is so tender, moist and delicious. The Shiesh Kebab Turkish is superb. The South Indian garlic chilli chicken is to die for. Won’t be beaten.

The decor was a bit dark, the welcome was nice, our server was chatty but not overly so. The portion size was too much for me but I don't think many would complain about that definitely value for money.

This is the only Indian Restaurant/takeaway that I use in the whole of North and South lanarkshire. I've have tried many but nothing compares to the quality and taste. Service in the restaurant is top class and the delivery service is the same!

We came here for an anniversary meal. My husband has been before and spoke highly about it. Whilst the food was lovely, the service was quite slow and the noise was horrendous. It’s quite a small restaurant and we were a couple sat amongst parties of between 6 and 12 people at neighbouring tables, all shouting over the top of each other to be heard. We could barely hear ourselves think let alone have a conversation. We finished our meal quickly and left. Upon leaving, we noticed that the other side of the restaurant where other couples were sat was a lot quieter. Very disappointed.

This restraunt does takeaway also which we collected. They forgot to give us our sauce then no apology when called to advise and told us would drop off. Had to chase & was told manager would drop off so I could complain to him, this was not the case as delivery driver delivered. Called & spoke to manager who again didn't apologise & then said was too busy to deal with me!! Disgusting customer service will never order again

I visited Indian Villa for the first time with my girlfriend last Friday night for some food before heading out to consume copious amounts of swally. My girlfriend had been a few times before and recommended it so I had high hopes.I like my curry to be so hot that it causes me to experience almost unbearable pain and sweat profusely while consuming so I ordered the Chicken Vindaloo. Although the curry was extremely tasty and I thoroughly enjoyed it, I didn’t find it to be too spicy but maybe that’s just cause am hard as nails :/ The garlic naan was spot on and they done a lovely pint of Cobra too.Hoping to be back again soon.

visited for the first time mid week for dinner.The service was great and the surroundings were par for the area and type of restaurant.Our starters of pakora and spiced mushrooms were very good as was our mains , chicken saag and Indian garlic salted lamb were really good, only minor point was the price 58 including two soft drink and 2 wines, other than that the food and service were first class and definitely worth a visit.

Table was booked in advance, waited in a cramped enterance while people got take ways. 10 mins before we were acknowledged.30 mins for starter to arrive. 40mins gone still no main course...Do not book a table if you have somewhere to go afterwards.Food quality is average at best and definitely not worth the length of time.They seem to focus on the take out trade.I will avoid in future, I recommend others to do do...

Last night my partner Anne and myself had a great meal in our favourite Indian restaurant the Indian Villa in Motherwell. We had the deal of two courses and a drink each for £29.95 which is fantastic value for money. The food and service was excellent as usual and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys Indian food.

Quick curry before the civic. 3 friends had the special menu because there were 3 of us charge us one al a carte. Would have been cheaper to have ordered 4 meals from the special menu and wasted one . Staff weren't interested when we complained. Ended up paying over the odds. The portion sizes were exactly the same. Food was lovely just be aware if having the 'special' menu.

Ordered above, 1 chicken bhoona normal and 1 chicken bhoona (requested a wee bit milder). Both absolutely tasteless, onions with pakora not fresh and rice came in "clumps". Nan bread thick and far too doughy. Extremely disappointing and a total waste of money, so disappointed and expected much higher quality. Won't be back. Not cheap at £22.00.

What a delightful visit opened the door to lovely welcome we had just walked in not booked but once seated we could see it was going to be busy which is a good sign and once the food came it got even better this is a cracking place for good Indian food so give it a go because we will certainly be back

Went here last night for a family meal, first time visit and it was absolutely fabulous, food was lovely, price was amazing, we will be back.

Ordered a delivery at 6.30 and it arrived at 8.00. The nan bread was stone cold and delivery driver extremely aggressive. Offered to pay his delivery mileage but he was very bad tempered. No customer service or apology.
