Crisp & Spicy in North Lanarkshire

Used to be really good, now it has a new owner and no drinks license. Didn't eat there because of this. Went to another restaurant instead

Went for lunch and the buffet had hardly any thing had to weight for stuff to come out of the kitchen as the amount to food cooked was not enough for the amount of people. The new owner on his phone constantly instead of taking his jacket off and helping in the kitchen.i felt sorry for the two waitresses as every one complaining about the lack of food

This could have been a nice venue but something strange has happened had the feel of liquidation all drinks removed from Gantry only chicken or veg for choice loads of shady looking characters in and out of kitchen all night sorry but I will not be back I did try to support them on opening but always had the feeling that something was not right oh and differnt front of house on every single visit ...... we need a good Indian restaurant in Airdrie PLEASE !!!!!!!

This restaurant has recently introduced buffet lunch for £4.99. In my opinion it cannot be beaten for value. It’s not a massive menu, but the food is beautifully cooked and the staff are very attentive. Been three times recently and can’t fault it. It’s just a little local restaurant, but well worth a visit.

We visit on Saturday for dinner buffet . It was really so economical and delicious . We must come back next Friday .

After reading the reviews decided to give it a try, wasn't the worst but wasn't the best either, I ordered chicken tikka (Tandoori) some of my chicken was totally over cooked and non edible, My husband said his tasted like a curry you would get from a jar out the local supermarket. Staff were lovely but service was very slow two girls working and one of them was doing the deliveries. The chef (I'm assuming he was also the owner was wearing a South Lanarkshire college uniform so not really sure if he works there in the day. Don't think I will be Rushing back.

This tiny wee restaurant is a real find. The food is really good and the service very friendly. Was here once before, years ago, for Friday lunch which Was buffet style and amazing value. Today was a standard lunch menu but the food was equally good at a competitive price. Go, you won't be disappointed.

I had the kofta curry with Nan. Delicious food, the koftas were cooked just like they would be in India. These guys don’t compromise the true Indian flavours. I highly recommend for everyone to try. The service was great and the atmosphere was fun and lively. Thank you for the wonderful food.

read the reviews and this place is great value. 20 quid for starters main desert and a 2 cans of drink. ok its not posh and the bhona could have been a bit hotter but at the price it was stunning value. i just wish the door would close on its own as we were close to it and people kept leaving it open. parking is also easy drive to the top of the street 10 yrds away and turn right and very first right for only a 2 min walk. dont park on the street outside as it 30 min no return

Had a superb lunch here, and fantastic prices. Food and service was great. Will definitely be returning and would certainly recommend.

Me and my partner were visiting family in Airdrie and they took us to their favourite restaurant since moving to the town... I now know why it is their favourite! From start to finish it is the best Indian restaurant I have visited! Spiced onions, Chicken Pakora,Veg Pakora ( I have never taken to but loved it ) Butter Chicken Curry, Peshwari Nann.. all fresh, authentic and a delight on the mouth! All at a very,very reasonable price! Edwin, Yousef and the team are fantastic and so welcoming. Can’t recommend enough and will definetly be recommending to friends and family and visiting again.Thanks for a fantastic evening and meal!

Despite living in Airdrie all my life this was my first visit to this restaurant, which was previously the Bombay Palace. I'd seen it on Groupon and so decided to give it a try and will definitely be back. The starters, curries and the garlic naan were all amazing. I had butter chicken with chicken tikka and my husband has South Indian Garlic Chilli made with Chicken Tikka. Both were amazing with the Butter Chicken and garlic naan being comparable to my favourite Indian which is in a 5 star hotel in Dubai. The kids had garlic bread and chicken nuggets and chips which they enjoyed and the owner was really good with them. We'd enjoyed a takeaway from here before but can really recommend a sit-in meal.The food was much better fresh without sweating in delivery cartons. Really reasonable prices. The restaurant itself is plain if a bit tired decor-wise but the food speaks for itself so please don't let this put you off. We'll definitely be back.

Had a lovely 3 course lunch here, Edwin our host and yousif the chef attended to our every need. The food was faultless and we will definitely be back. 3 course for £4.50 (drinks extra) fab 👍

i was in today for the first time for lunch .The service was excellent ,no problem for a single table unlike another local India restaurant who refused to serve me on my own .

My family and I visited this Indian restaurant without knowing what to expect. We were greeted with a big smile and a very warm welcome. We were introduced to the chef, and told if we had any questions about the menu, just to ask. The food was extremely tasty, fresh and authentic- most definitely in the top 5 curries I’ve ever eaten. As a bonus, it was very reasonably priced although not such an issue for me on this occasion as my dad paid!!! I would 100% visit this restaurant again.

What a great little Indian restaurant only been at lunch times but always been more than satisfied food freshly cooked and good sized portions. Will try evening menu next time great value for money and excellent service

I travel a lot a eat many, many Indian meals whilst away in business, and this place is right up there amongst the best! Extremely authentic lovely Indian food. Marinated Lamp chops are to die for!

Have visited Crisp and Spicy many times now, both as a sit in customer and take out and have never had anything less than perfection. So inspiring to see genuinely decent people making a living in Airdrie providing 5 star food for us in this little town.

Food below average, Edwin is a pest who thinks he is funny but is not. Very disappointed with this visit after reading the reviews. Won't be back and would have to question how gunuine the reviews are. After reading them again they all looked like adverts for different foods on the menu.

This restaurant is the genuine hidden gem the food is without doubt 2nd to none service is excellent and the prices will not break the bank we highly recommend this little taste of India in Airdrie

Went here for dinner last week, the food just blow me away, i go to a lot of different Indian restaurants & this is the first one i walk out saying i need to actually leave a good review for this place, as i need it to be successful so i never have to say good bye to its amazing food! :)

Popped in for a meal as my daughter was in a drama show in airdrie town hall, had veg pakora to start it was delicious, my mum had the creamy garlic mushrooms which where out of this world, genuinely the best Indian food I have had, hubby had chicken pakora which was also delicious, plentiful starters, really generous portions considering we had ordered from the pre theatre menu, hubby and I both enjoyed a South Indian garlic chilli chicken curry and mum had the Bhuna, cleated our plates even the nann bread was the best we have had, lovely service, Edwin is a great host and we had the pleasure of meeting the chef as well, all in all a fantastic meal and amazing value for money, will certainly be back. A hidden gem.

Honestly can’t recommend this place enough! Popped in and Edwin was so chatty and lovely! Chicken pakora & sauce is best I’ve ever tried! Bhuna was amazing too! Couldn’t even consider the dessert after!

We tried this place tonight as it was recommended to us. From start to Finnish the meal was outstanding. From the coriander in the spiced onions to the authentic tandoori mixed grill it was superb. Airdrie had cafe spice and hartys @ the four ways both of which I was a regular. This place is far superior on authenticity,flavour and service. Top marks to Yosuf the chef and Edwin. I wish you all the best in the future and if you maintain food of that quality you won't need luck my friends. The tables around us all said the same thing, recommended and loved the meal. So give it a go people you won't be disappointed. So you soon guys !

I didn't expect much and thought it would be terrible but I was eating those words very soon after being seated. The food is delicious. I'd easily say the best pakora and curry by a few hundred mile. The premises is small but clean and well set out. The staff are very friendly and went out of their way to ensure we were happy, You could tell it was important to them that you enjoyed the experience. Don't hesitate give this hidden gem a try. You won't be disappointed.

Popped in with the wife for lunch after its change in owners/and name. Food was great and quick tasty, staff where polite.

My mum and I stopped in for a quick lunch as she had already been in with my dad a few times before and had recommended it. Really enjoyed it and would definitely go as far to say it was the best Indian I’ve had in a long time. The owner was lovely and done everything he could to accommodate you! I don’t even know where to begin with the price, we had a 3 course meal including drinks for 2 people for just £16!! Cannot be beaten for quality and quantity. Will definitely be back!

First time here and will be back again. Great welcome and food was delicious highly recommend the cauliflower pakora and chicken achari and if it wasn’t for lent we would have had a dessert

Excellent - Chicken Pakora was lovely as was the South Indian Garlic Chilli. Very reasonably priced too. The £4.50 lunch menu was definitely worth it.

We visited on a Thursday night. Service was attentive and friendly. But the thing that makes this a five star review is the food. Spices were used to create flavour, not just heat. We will go back to see if it is always so good. A really good find in Airdrie. And very reasonably priced too.

Friends and I popped in here at the weekend for a bite to eat after reading such positive reviews.

We been here twice and have absolutely enjoyed the food here! It isn't like the other curries you have had that are bright yellow or orange, this is more traditional Indian from 2 brothers who have worked for a sultan and for the Hyatt in Dubai! Edwin and Yusef are fantastic chefs and fantastic hosts, Edwin couldn't do enough for us and our 2 year old! Go here, get a nice meal and never go to a different place again! If I could give it 6 stars I would!

Discovered this wee gem of a restaurant by the excellent views on Trip Adviser last Wednesday and couldn't wait to try it. Visited Friday 26th January for lunch.

Went in here for an early dinner ordered chicken pakora which was amazing!! South Indian garlic for main and this was also excellent kids menu only £2.75 was excellent value for money and will deffo return

We have visited this restaurant on a few occasions now and have found the food and presentation to be excellent. Staff friendly and helpful and will cook your food to suit. Nothing is too much trouble. It's definitely a restaurant to return to.

Went with family to this lovely place, Everything was cooked fresh and everyone very attentive and friendly, Cannot fault the meal in any shape or form. Well worth a visit, they have a great variety on the menu and even do takeways that you can do on just eat. Plenty of food when it arives and we left not feeling hungry or disappointed. will be visiting again soon.

My husband and I popped in for the 3 course lunch menu at £6.99-the BEST £6.99 we ever spent. Gorgeous presentation, amazing flavors, impeccable service. This is a definite must when in Airdrie!! Can’t believe this place isn’t packed all the time!!

Went for lunch for 5 people all food was tasty, fresh and fantastic. Never tried lamb ribs before and they were delicious.we were allowed to take our time and never felt rushed. Will be back soon. Excellent value

I tried this place today based on other reviews which were all positive. Had a takeaway rather than a sit in meal. Firstly, I was greeted at the doorway by the staff/owner who seemed friendly and welcoming. Ordered my food and was offered a seat whilst it was cooked. These guys couldn't have been friendlier and for that alone I was impressed. Ordered a biryani and was kept chatting by the owner for the duration and on that basis I would not hesitate to pay a visit for a sit down meal rather than a takeaway.

Airdrie is full of average take aways and the latest Indian to really go downhill is cafe spice. I loved bombay palace and was saddened when it closed as it was the last decent Indian in the area.....

A friend and I visited here for a sit in meal for the first time since the new management has taken over.

We had young child with us who was made to feel special and welcome as were we even though we arrived without reservation.The service was attentive without being overly so, The food is cuisine of a high standard and a delight to the tastebuds. All of which led to a wonderful culinary experience.This has got to be the best Indian restaurant I have experienced outside of India.

Went to the restaurant with the family yesterday and food was amazing. Our favourite was definitely the starters. The pakoras were so crispy but amazing not at all oily. Cooked to perfection. Staff were lovely as well. Planning to go again soon
