Lovely staff made us feel very welcome. Rooms are lovely, anything u need, warm and comfortable. Meals are stunning.

This hotel advertises itself as a luxury which it most certainly isn’t . I would not reommend it as a luxury hotel . My bed was comfortable, the towels were threadbare. The kettle was dirty . There were no luxury toiletries , I wasn’t even given a shower cap. The coffee and tea and biscuits were basic . The bathroom floor looked old and tired . The toilet paper was less than basic and terrible

Excellent service throughout our stay including Dinner and Breakfast. Room clean and well maintained as was the bathroom. Staff are exceptionally friendly and very helpful,

We enjoyed our stay. The check-in process was easy, staff very friendly. The room was clean and tidy. Bed was firm and pillows soft but a little lumpy but slept well. Nice bathroom with good shower and plenty of towels. Room was lovely and warm. Basic tea and coffee facilities. Could do with a few more hangers, only six !! Possibly a hook for coats ? Breakfast was lovely and fresh served by friendly staff.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and even allowed us to check in early as we were attending a wedding that day. This really meant a lot to us and made the day so much easier! The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was amazing, and the bar/restaurant was impressive. The only thing I will say is the upstairs is a bit dated, the corridors etc look a bit tired. But that didn't make a difference to our stay at all, really couldn't fault it. Great place and would highly recommend.

Nice rooms, price point was exceptional value. Amy, the manager, was very friendly and welcoming. We dined in the restaurant very fairly priced. The breakfast witch was included was fabulous. Overall, it was a good experience

We had a great stay at the Hand & Sceptre, the staff were really helpful, friendly and attentive, the food was brilliant so well done chief and the service was quick. The only thing I would say was that in our room some wall paper was coming off so maybe a bit of a refresh and it looked like there were some water marks on the wall in the bar but honestly that would not put us off coming back as I would still rate it 10 out of 10, so we'll done all.

On 5th May also had 3 other rooms for my duaghters and their families. The family rooms were very spacious. The staff were fantastic - very professional and very friendly and helpful. The location/car parking and quality of the hotel was good. The food was very good and a fairly wide menu.

I have used similar Hotels in my business travels. This was the best of all of them.

This hotel is so lovely. We appreciated the early check in as we arrived early in England from an international journey. The staff were welcoming and so accommodating. The rooms itself are very clean and well kept. This hotel has much character and the staff are so friendly. We didn't try the restaurant but next time we will. Highly recommend.

The rooms were nice, clean and good quality. En-suite was clean and well designed and put together. Eating area was an un-expected high standard as was the food its self. Breakfast incl was great offer and looked forward to it each day
