Really friendly staff - great place which unfortunately is hugely let down by the noise you can hear from surrounding rooms. I stay here frequently on business, as a lady on my own I feel safe in the environment but it really does depend on other cliental in adjoining rooms to my enjoyment of my stay. The walls are paper thin, you can hear people switching on light switches, coughing/snoring, arguing among other things... I'm not sure what can be done about rectifying this but really is a problem on some of my stays - most recently my last one with the people staying above me.

This place was so welcoming and the staff were amazing - they even fed us delicious food just after the kitchen had closed as they knew we were only 20 minutes away and would not be able to get food. We travel a lot and I can say we have not stayed at accommodation this welcoming in a long time. The room was fabulous - toilets in the bar area were spotless.Cannot fault this place.

Lovely place, but one of the walks in the corridor was flaky due to damp. The television was on the side wall. So, it was a bit difficult to watch. Not enough milk pods were provided, but it was sorted when requested more milk. No body lotion. It was good I always carry some. Lovely staff. Good food. Really would like to give 3.5 stars.

All the staff were nice and very helpful. The bar area was nice, and the restaurant food was pretty good too. The room itself was very nice but only thing was there was a terrible smell coming from the drains when we walked in. Once we had rinsed water down the shower and sink for a bit the pong went. Might be worth getting staff to check the room b4 giving out in case there is any bad surprises waiting for the nostrils. Hence why I knocked it down a star. Other than that I would definitely stay again in the future. Thanks to all the staff for making my stay a nice one.

A bit of a shambles when being booked in but after 5/10 minutes everything was sorted. The staff were lovely and friendly, the hallway looked like it was under refurbishment so it was a bit of a mess. The room wasn't massive but adequate for just one night. There wasn't an iron, hairdryer or a proper wardrobe so make sure you take your own ( not wardrobe). The bathroom was a good size and was extremely clean. There were tea and coffee making facilities but no fridge and no bottled water, so if you needed a drink you either had to bring your own or buy it from the pub. The walls aren't very thick so we did have noisy neighbours and a pack of elephants in the room above who we think were rearranging the furniture around so take some ear plugs. There is free parking on site but the carpark isn't very big, but you can park outside on the road. We stayed for a meal in the restaurant and it was amazing. Would highly recommend here whether it's to stay overnight or just for a meal.

Four-night stay. The room was small by modern standards and lacked storage space for a stay of more than two days. Decor was dull and dark. Building construction was poor and look tired. Walls and floors paper thin. Two disturbed night’s sleep due to those above walking around on very noisy floor boards. Gardens and premises exterior need of some love and maintenance. Would only stay again if nothing else available. Quite obvious that whole venue needed investment. Over priced for what it is. Only had breakfast two of the four days which was ok. Staff polite. Parking ok. Not much else to like to be honest. Nice walk to Brereton Heath.

Cozy and clean room, comfortable bed. The room had everything you need. The staff is attentive and polite. The restaurant has great food - delicious, large portions and a reasonable price. Special attention to the building - an old building with a magical atmosphere. Without exaggeration, I can say - this is the best hotel I have stayed in. Of the comments, only one tiny one - it would be possible to make the lighting a little brighter.

Can be a little noisy beside the A50 but very comfortable rooms and a lovely rustic pub. Excellent full English breakfast set us up for the day. Happy to recommend and return sometime.

We stayed the same two days, exactly a year earlier. It seemed fairly quiet compared to last year, and standards seem to have dropped by quite a lot. Breakfast service was late on both days. On the Saturday, when breakfast was advertised from 0730, we came down at 7.55 and there were no hot drinks and they were still hoovering and putting out juices etc. On the Saturday evening we took the trouble to let the staff know that we needed breakfast 'pretty sharp' in the morning as we were exhibiting at a show from 9 (they told us that 8 would be the earliest time). On the Sunday we came down at 8 to be told "about half an hour, nothing got done last night", which I assumed means that the evening shift didn't do the things they were supposed to. We had to skip it and go along to the Costa in the village. Bar service was a bit patchy on the evenings, plates didn't get taken away after our meal - they were still 'with us' an hour after we had finished - and there were odd glasses abandoned on other tables, and tables left unwiped. Rooms are reasonably pleasant, the shower was very good, the location is convenient...but we will probably look elsewhere for next year. *Thanks for your reply. We stay at the property once a year, as we exhibit at an annual show nearby. It's good to know that you want to improve. The proof is in the pudding (or, in this case, the breakfast ;)) so we will look at more reviews before deciding whether to book for next year.

The food was good, the staff polite and friendly and the room was just right for my needs - single man travelling alone (room 104). The bed was very comfy and I’d say that the shower was possibly the best I’ve ever experienced in any such accommodation regardless of stars. Great quality, loads of hot water and a brilliant experience.

Stopped for a few nights with work. Half the price of a premiere inn but so much better. Food and service were outstanding. Generally a nice place to stay.

Awful experience from start to finish. Arriving after requesting all rooms being together 2 of us were in a completely different building (which after a while the girl checking us in told us to leave her be for a while as shes only been there a few weeks and didn't understand the booking system) they finally managed to get us into the same building but on different level which was fine. We arrive in our room to an AWFUL smell which the next morning we made the front desk aware and told us they would call someone out and keep us informed. No one kept us informed so we mentioned it at checkout and said we have paid X amount of money to stay here and it's smelt like sewers the whole weekend. The guy who checked us out then replied 'well, we've had to pay £280 for someone to come out to look at it' I think that this reply is absolutely awful this isn't our issues we've paid to stay somewhere and shouldn't have to smell sewers; you could literally see if all outside of our window the drains were blocked. Every time someone flushed a toilet (not even ours) the shower drain bubbled and smelt awful. Our shower flooded when we did have a shower which then meant the whole bathroom floor was socked. My friend ordered some breakfast which came with a nice serving of dust on top to we showed a member of staff and she took it away not saying sorry; a fresh one was brought out and she said ' we've stolen someone's else's' still no apology. Don't bother staying here!!

Greet sized room. Shower was good. Clean. VERY thin Walls, you can hear everything from the ajoining rooms/corridor and rooms above. Staff not very approachable, boarding on rude. Drainage/Sewer issues outside bedrooom window, causing foul smell. Breakfast not great.

Quaint lovely pub. Room was lovely- Shower was great. There is no conditioner so bring your own. Had the fillet steak for tea, it was very nice and cooked to perfection. Breakfast was good and with unlimited tea/cofee/juice it was at a fair price.

Rooms very clean and updated. Hotel though out of season seemed understaffed. Some staff appeared a little curt and hassled dealing with the inconvenience of customers. Remind me of the covid days. Reported Squirrel in ceiling appeared ignored.

Very Disappointing, the fungi starter not that pleasant - toast went soggy with the over garlic mushrooms. Mains:- Saffron risotto with ossobuco- the risotto was overpowered by the saffron and the ossobuco accompanied with it was quite a bland sauce. There early bird menu is now NOT available and has been replaced by there 'Christmas Special Menu' at £25 for 2 courses & a £10 charge for 175mil house wine . If you had booked a table when the early bird menu was advertised, I'm sorry but they make no exceptions, you will have to have the more expensive Christmas menu .
