The Mill Lane Chippy is clean and tidy, with friendly pleasant staff. The curry sauce is spicy but not overly so, and there's plenty of it. The chips on this occassion were overdone, and the batter was light and not oily, but had little taste. The cod fillet was delicious and a good size. Mill lane chippy has been brilliant for years! The staff are always so friendly and the food is always top quality. The chips and gravy is so good from here, proper chippy gravy. Prices aren’t too expensive either and the portions are good too.

Best fish in the town hands down. Have used this place since it opened and have never had bad food from there.

Two chippy’s right next to each other. One had a massive queue and the other was empty. This was the chippy with the massive queue and the quality speaks for itself!

chips tasted like leftovers from lunch the pie was all soggy on the bottom and the battered sausage was more if a stodgy sausage will not be going back

We came here at the end of a nice walk around Macclesfield. At closing time on the off chance they had some leftovers, we were very surprised to see a queue and still preparing fish to fry. I have to say its one of the best chippy's I've had in ages! Chips cooked to perfection, fish that tastes like fish was soft and flaky with thin crisp batter and not a soggy bottom in sight. All at a very affordable price too. Highly recommended!

Normally I find no fault with this chippy as its always been really good but the chips weren't great to day didn't taste that nice at all and the barmcake wasn't very fresh either

Went to Milll Lane chippy yesterday and there was a girl being trained. The girl training her had the worst attitude with her, it was disgusting the way she spoke and treated her. If it was me I don’t think I would be going back for another shift of humiliation

After living in macclesfield some time ago I decided to give mill lane a try as I heard great reviews, I wish I'd gone next door might have been better , even though I only had fish and mushy peas I was looking forward to a nice crispy battered piece of cod, instead I got a wet mushy cod, should of left it in the sea. Won't be going again.. .

The portions aren't what they used to be when I last visited about 10 years ago but their chips curry and rice is still lovely. Whenever I'm in the area I will make sure to come back.

It's my treat when I travel up north, meat potato pie, chips and gravy. It didn't let me down, delicious, as remembered, because this covid has grounded me for 2 years.

Chips and gravy are really nice little work on the pudding but it was great.

The food we had was absolutely delicious, hot and not greasy. But sadly I was given a meat pie when I ordered a vegetarian one which is really concerning. Cannot recommend to vegetarians.

Luckily this chip shop is just down the road from us but I would drive a fair way to eat their fish and chips, excellent, freshly cooked, hot crispy battered fish, we like to go on Fridays, it’s busy but worth it!

I have always gone to Mill Lane Chippy and they have been excellent every time I go. My girlfriend and I both had batterd sausages, chips and curry sauce tonight and it was spot on. The best chippy in Macclesfield.

I popped in to this place for a quick meal, and what a meal it was! One of the nicest fish and chips I've had in a long time, and this is coming from someone who knows their way round a fish supper. Portion size was huge (great value) and when the food is so good, the more the better! Would certainly recommend :)

We had fish chips and peas yesterday from the Mill Lane Chippy. They were one of the nicest chippy teas I've had in a long time. The chips were amazing. I'll definitely be going here again. Worth 5 ⭐'s

Visited this Chippy for the 1st time two days ago. Not impressed. I chose this Chippy as I live literally just 5 minutes away from the Chippy but by the time I got home the chips were soggy and could only be described as warm at best while some were almost cold. It was clear from their appearance that some were from an earlier fry up. The fish were a reasonable size and OK but I would not recommend the chips to ANYONE! I shall definitely be looking elsewhere in future

Absolutely awful food. Chips were days old tasted that way. Inedible. Fish soggy and burnt. Staff nice and pleasant. Shoukd have gone to the best chippy in macclesfield. Crompton road chippy. My mistake.

Been going to this chippy for over 30 years. Very, very good. Highly recommend. 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃 Just one thing. If you have a chicken breast always order a large pot of gravy. Keep up the good work folks.

First time here. The chips, pie and sausage was pretty standard . Not the best not the worst. The fish on the other hand was soggy, flat and lacking flavour. Probably wouldn't be eager to return in a rush again :/

My husband and I have just had fish, chips and peas. The fish was as flat as a pancake and the batter was soggy. The chips were not fresh and we both had difficulty finding any potato in the chips, they were end bits. Feel completely ripped off as it cost £13. 40. I have never experienced food like it before, appalling and disgusting food

Went here for a group of people wanting a chippy dinner, four of us who had eaten the curry had to rush to the toilet within hours. chips also looked like they were warm ups that had been cooked a couple of days before. Plus we ordered on the phone and it wasn't ready when we arrived.
