Great local pub, fantastic staff, great menu

Visited here 19.2.25 and there was no hawkstone available despite 2x pulls available and no glass or towel over the handles to show this wasn’t available

We stopped here mainly for the excellent EV charging points they have in the car park and had a good meal here while we waited. Food came quickly and was tasty and well presented in comfortable surroundings on a cold evening.

Very nice friendly pub, reasonable priced food and drinks, lovely staff, makes for a great time out.

As always the Service and food was excellent. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable.

Care to detail (we requested one of two tables and were seated at one of them , thank you) Food was better than it had been at previous visit so all good there. Prices had increased but were still reasonable All staff very pleasant and friendly.

Beautiful place, lovely staff, was able to relax in the snug with a cocktail in front of the real fire, what more can you ask for?! Food was delicious, we will be back 😊

I have been here a number of times. Always greeted at the door shown to my table and drinks order taken. Food Order taken not a long wait for it to be presented at the table. Well cooked nicely presented.

Great experience served straight away and made to feel welcome I had a baby in a pushchair to which they made sure there was room at the table for the pushchair and it wasn’t too much trouble Food was great cooked how I asked will def come back

The Inkwell is a very stylish and sophisticated pub with excellent food. Quite expensive.

Overcooked fish. Chips not very hot. Other food did not look appetising. Shall not be returning

Had a lovely meal with friends here last night. Food was perfect, especially the apple & cherry crumble which was delicious. Conor was very welcoming & friendly when we arrived. Rich made our night with his friendly chatter whilst serving us. Definitely recommend here, it’s such a lovely pub.

Not a good experience. Wasted time on this pub we should have visited somewhere where we knew. Very noisy unable to talk and they tried to tell us a sirloin steak was in fact a rib eye 😳

Great visit to our new local. Rich was so accommodating and knowledgeable. Menu was extensive without being overwhelming. Looking forward to seeing the new menu in the coming weeks.

Always a good experience. Have become semi regulars since moving to the area last year. Staff always very friendly especially the landlord. Would definitely recommend having food in the bar area. Very cosy. Nice easy breezy app ordering from your phone. Hawkstone on draft. Great pub.

It's ok, quite a standard British gastropub. I actually go here quite often to meet up with family so I'm always in a big group and they accommodate us well. Usually the food is pretty standard pub stuff, good quality and nice presentation. Unfortunately last time I went I had a steak which I ordered "medium rare" but it was very "well done" and tough as an old boot! I've also had a steak sandwich here a couple of times and the problem is the same, steak well done and like an old boot, not very pleasant. So I have deducted points for the steaks they serve here; I definitely don't recommend them. Frankly if you can't cook a steak, what are you doing in a kitchen? I can cook better steak than that at home lol I do quite like it here though and they allow me to bring my dog. It has quite a chill atmosphere. I would definitely rank them higher if the steak was any good!

I had such a great visit! The management and staff were really attentive, the food and drinks were delicious and the atmosphere was fabulous. I would thoroughly recommend a visit here with reasonable prices and amazing service.

Pre booked so table ready for us, menus and drinks offered. Orders taken fairly quickly but then a half hour wait for them to arrive. Delicious food. Had to attract waiter for plates to be removed and again for desserts. Another long wait. Enjoyed the meal and ambience of the pub but service needs to get sharper.

The staff was very polite and helpful. Had a table booked for 6.15pm got there a little early but still seated us early. I had flowers delivered there earlier that day for being put on table which I organised with Sue and was done (thankyou). Food was amazing. Great atmosphere and would well recommend 👌

After over 5 hours in a lay by in -1 temps on a dual carriage way waiting with my baby and my other daughter who is type 1 diabetic, for RAC we were recovered to this pub to await a further recovery. The staff at Inkwell set us up next to the fire. 2 nice pots of tea and a snack the baby could eat. They let us us the landline to keep in contact with RAC inst3ad of me going outside to get signal. Charged my phone and even let us stay after closing for another 20 until staff were going home. Amazing people and welcomed us even though we had a baby and it was a late hour. Explaining their kindness to my husband made very emotional and so very grateful that there are amazing people that will help where they can. I will be going back for a meal and buying drinks for the staff. Thank you again

Delicious boxing day meal at the Inkwell, Lichfield. The staff serving us were extremely professional, polite and acomodating. Definitely worth a visit.

Around twenty of us visited for a family Christmas meal. Staff were amazing, food was divine, and plentiful. Beautifully decorated for the season too. Will be going back.

The san Miguel was off tasted very bitter The portions were poor and the steak and gammon were tasteless We have visited many times and it was very poor

Both my sister and I had a lovely meal celebrating her birthday. The staff particularly Laura was very attentive but she also gave us time to relax which was very much appreciated and was an absolute treasure. Our meal was lovely and the whole experience spot on! Thank you Laura your a star.

A warm welcome and a nice table to accommodate both our dog and my sister on her mobility scooter. Pleasant and professional waiting staff. Good value food and wine. This is now our go-to place.

Having not been here since 2018 it was lovely to revisit as I have fond memories being the last place I visited with my late mum. Although it is now known as the Inkwell, the feel around the place is still the same. Very cosy welcoming country feeling pub. We was greeted by a young lady very polite and welcoming who showed us to our table, menus given, drinks ordered and food to follow. The food was out of this world, the portion size looked on the small side for £15 but believe me it was ample. I even indulged in desert !! My daughter is celiac and her needs were also catered for her meal also tasted delicious. My grandaughter who can at times be fussy also cleared her plate and indulged in desert. She was able to roam the pub with confidence and felt at ease by all members of staff. The main host Sal was lovely polite and engaging. We have found a winner for all future eat outs and the bonus of the evening was having 30% off all mains. We had 4 drinks, 2 mains and 1 kids main and 3 deserts and it only came to £52 what an absolute steal. The quality of the food alone was worth the money and then you get the staff who were all friendly and welcoming. This is a must to visit!!

The food and the service are excellent. The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially when discussing my shellfish allergy and how some of the fryers are used for shellfish so that I could decide which meal to have without the worry of any allergens. The Inkwell is a warm and welcoming environment and it is a pleasure to eat there. Thank you Toni for your excellent service.

Very expensive. Don't bother. Lots of good eateries nearby in Lichfield. Very disappointing for a Marstons restaurant.

Service varied. Quick to order but slow to serve drinks in particular. Food was OK but my vegetables were cool. Couldn't be bothered to send back as rest of the group would have been eating without me! Wouldn't rush back.

My wife & I visited as a little Friday evening treat & we were very well looked after by Jude. Very attentive staff during a very busy period.

Our serving staff, Sue, was attentive, friendly and thoughtful (especially when it came to moving past some very noisy people standing right next to us as we were eating…thank you Sue!) The meals were delicious and arrived in good time. Very enjoyable experience, will go again and will recommend :)
