Absolutely beautiful! Everything was perfect, the food was incredible, the waitress was very attentive and the whole evening was lovely. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone!

Met our friends with all our little ones for a catch up. Staff were friendly and accommodating. One mishap with the bill which was sorted straight away. Someone had steak which was quite grissly. Lots of choice for food and drink. Also it's a dog friendly place, so was nice to see some cute dogs about the place.

Lovely pub, fantastic food. Staff are friendly welcoming. We will definitely be going back.

We are new to the area and couldn't of asked for more of our dining experience. The atmosphere was excellent. The staff were excellent. Our waitress- Sue or Trouble was first rate. Highly recommend a visit.

The staff were not rude, however, no smile or eye contact they looked bored and fed up. The food was underwhelming very disappointing- frozen chips very basic. The place seemed nice from the outside it could be so much more. Greeting customers with a smile!! That would be a start - Management should build up the staff morale it may help them enjoy their job more. Such a shame but it’s easy to fix ! Good luck

Sunday 7th April , arrived at 6pm .Told there was 30 min wait for food .Waitress took order and said 45mins ,but didn’t receive food until after over 1 hour wait .Food very good when arrived . Maybe more kitchen staff are needed. I eat there regularly and not had to wait that long before , but May think twice about booking again particularly on a Sunday evening. My daughter needed to drive to Derbyshire and wanted a quick meal.

Very welcoming atmosphere, staff all friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Quality of food and drink excellent, will definitely be returning. Thanks to Rich and Sal front of house

Visited this evening, 4 adults and 1 baby. We're told there was no Sea Bass and was offered Salmon as replacement, the Salmon was over baked and very hard, dry and inedible. When we informed the waitress, we were suddenly told Sea Bass is back on the menu?! But it was too late in the meal to warrant the wait for a new meal to be cooked. Two roast dinners were lacking temperature and the yorkies were over baked. The veg tart was very mushy. However the steak meal was perfect and the side portion of mash for the baby was great too. Staff interacted really well with the baby but otherwise lacking in character at the table. Not a great experience sadly. Makes us very hesitant to return. If I would recommend anything it would be the steak.

Service was great, understand that they were busy due to certain offers that were available at the time. However there was a clear lack of staff and felt that the food was rushed, both mine and my partners meals had certain food items missing. Which by the time we seen a waiter we were 1/2 way through our meal. We did notify them about the missing items and literally didn’t hear anything else. Glad we didn’t pay full price to be honest, paid the bill and went for dessert at another restaurant

Good food and friendly staff in a civilised environment with no intrusive background music to stifle conversation. Sue attentive and efficient as always and service prompt.

Booked a table but arrived very early and the staff was very accommodating finding us a table even though it was really busy. Food was delicious and we were really looked after well by Rich. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Visited on a very busy Friday evening. We had prebooked. About a 50 minute wait from placing order to getting served. Food is reasonably priced and currently an offer 30% off mains. Service was unfortunately a little slow and we gave up on desert order having seemed to wait an age. We did see another couple leave due to the wait in service. I'm sure it was a blip and management will sort.

Very disappointing. We had chosen Inkwell over another restaurant in Lichfield as we wanted an early meal. Table booked for 6.30pm. Drinks and starters arrived in good time. The main courses arrived after 8pm!! Over an hr after we had finished starters. We asked if our main courses were ready and were told they were being plated up. That was evidently not true as 20 minutes later we were given the same message! When the food finally arrived it was less than appetising. Burnt burgers, cold peas, dried bacon around chicken and rock hard pastry on the pie. We were told our order had got lost on the screen in the kitchen! They did remove the main courses off our bill but we were minutes from walking out. The evening was ruined as far as a 'meal out' was concerned. These things can happen, but it was obvious with the current 'offer' there was insufficient staff employed and if they'd only been honest as to the meals being plated up, you could to a degree accept a one-off. We won't be hurrying back after last night's experience.

The staff were excellent and went out of their way to accommodate our daughter. Phoebe was great at engaging with her and making her part of the experience. There was a great choice of food for both adults and children and the food was lovely. We will definitely visit again.

Just had our first Sunday lunch at The Inkwell. Food , service and atmosphere were all excellent, as were the prices. We will certainly be back! 🙌🙌🙌

Very disappointed as it took an hour and 15 minutes to receive our food and had to find a member of staff to order desserts and when they came two out of the 4 where incorrect order.

Very slow service, and the food when we got it was not the best. Have been before quite a few times, but on this occasion, we were disappointed.

We had a warm welcome and was even given a blanket for my son's Rhodesian Ridgeback dog plus treats and water. The service is really exceptional from all members if the team and we met several today. The food was plentiful cooked to perfection and ample choice. The chicken and signature burgers were so delicious as was the sea bass and chicken and haloumi kebab. We were very early so hard to give an accurate rating on atmosphere but notwithstanding that it's comfortable and an attractive interior. Highly recommend on every level. For quality of food it's value for money.

My friend and l ordered chicken chorizo kebab for main, flat bread luke warm dry and hard, chorizo was charred badly could not chew or cut it! 2 bits chicken were nice, onion and pepper charred black also un eatable. We left them, my friends l was with recommended the inkwell as it was my 70th birthday, and my first time there, was very disappointed. Also l payed for my other guests as a treat (4 of us in total) , l told the lady who came with bill that l had the 30% voucher on my phone, she said that's OK, when l payed the bill 30% never came off, so l payed the full £90 , l have kept the bill as proof, so all in all my first experience celebrating my birthday lunch was a total disaster for my friend and l. Efficient and easy online booking system. Helpful and friendly staff. Food was good and the ale (Hobgoblin Gold) was well kept. It's always good to enjoy a good pint of well kept golden/pale ale with a meal. Makes a welcome change from Pedigree or (worse) lager and generally fizzy type beers, including the (overrated) craft ales

All the staff were lovely, the pub is always well appointed and clean. The care of the landlord and landlady is abundantly clear and I never leave there wanting for anything.

Excellent place for lunch meet up with one of my oldest friends. We had booked a table as it gets very busy here. The food was good and the staff were quite helpful. The atmosphere reminded me of an old country pub full of families having a meal and a drink.

Visited the Inkwell for a belated birthday meal with a friend . Really friendly welcome , the restaurant looked warm and welcoming on a cold miserable evening . We were served by Brady who was so friendly and helpful a credit to the team . Our food was lovely and was served without delay and tasted delicious . Would recommend the Inkwell to friends and family

Visited for Mothers Day and we were not disappointed.Sunday roasts were really tasty and filling, very good variety of vegetables, we also had sides of cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets.Although busy staff were very attentive and we didn’t have to wait very long for our food.Laura looked after us really well and we will certainly be visiting again soon

Hi I am contacting yourselves due to the bad experience we had at your restaurant last night. We had a table booked for 13 people for 2 special birthdays and for mother's day. The day started good withe ringing up and asking if we could decorate the table or have balloons etc, to which I was told if we bring them down they will sort that. Then once the food started arriving everything went downhill quickly. Most of the starters were overcooked especially the chicken tenders and buttermilk chicken. The mains arrived and wasn't really hot, I'd say after a few minutes they was like warm at best. The house kebabs were definitely overcooked which is a shame because they was amazing last time I came. Alm the lasagne had pieces of tin foil in them for some reason. As for the desserts mine was good but the chocolate melting dome pudding was rock hard and probably would of taken a good 2 hours to get to a melting point. That was really disappointing considering it's the most expensive dessert on the menu. Others had toffee sticky pudding but when the custard came it's was embarrassing the amount of tiny portion that was given and most of it was stuck hard inside the jug so we couldn't get it out. We did ask for some more but was told we would have to pay for it, so we just laughed and said forget it. I recommended this place for the special occasion and feel embarrassed that family travelled, some from over 40 miles away to have that terrible experience. I was not allowed to complain at the time due to others not wanting to ruin the atmosphere and the night, so we just paid and left. I find it a absolute joke that we probably spent £500-£600 last night and we couldn't even have a bit of custard. Safe to say I will not be recommending our restaurant to anybody else. Poor!

4 of us Went on sat 9th March in the evening . it Was busy due to mother's day being the nxt day Despite that they quickly took us to our booked table The lady that looked after us was Millie she was brilliant , so helpful and definitely deserves a special mention . It was a birthday celebration and it was nice to receive card and drinks voucher.We were all served well and in a timely manner, for 9 people, it was appreciated. The food was definitely value for money, a shame we couldn't have a side order of mushrooms instead of just one! We will definitely visit again. In fact, half of our party are joining you for Mother's Day. A very pleasant evening and the numerous cocktails helped. 😂

Love this place, always very friendly & welcoming. Sat in the bar area which is comfy & the added bonus they welcome dogs (they even provide treats & water for our four legged friends!) Conor served us at the bar, great help him being so knowledgeable of all the drinks available, we just couldn’t decide!! Recommend you come & visit here.

Great pub quiz. Lovely and friendly staff who go out their way to make you feel welcome. We mainly had drinks but my partner had the chicken tenders as a little snack whilst we were there. So we have visited here for a meal a few times and it was OK. However, this evening I was very disappointed. So we was greeted well and positioned on a good table. My mum had fish and chips and I had steak and ale pie. The potatoes were disgusting the vegetables were cold as was the gravy and the pie was a good temperature but not a nice taste. When the waitress walked by she asked was everything OK? My mom said yes and I didn't have time to answer. I left most of the meal and when she collected the plates she never asked why my plate was hardly touched, so I said can I just say and explained what was wrong. She snapped saying I asked you and you said it was fine you should have said that's why we ask. I just said we won't be returning and she walked off to get the bill. She then began to talk to a colleague about us trying to hide behind the till whilst signalling to him that it was us who had annoyed her! My mum then decided to pay in cash and she was agitated having to wait for my elderly mum to sort her money out. Really really disgraceful service.

The area we were put in on table 4 was perfect, a nice little cosy side area. Service was excellent and attentive. Ales were a touch boring as I'm a real ale drinker and the choice was Pedigree or Hobgoblin Gold... but, they were in good condition. The only downside was the cost/quality element of the food..my Fish and chips were adequate in quality but for the money it was a very small portion...not much more than a mini fish and chips from a chip shop. The two ladies in the group had the Chicken and Chorizo kebabs. They were very basic (but I'm told tasty) unimaginatively served on a huge, what looked like much used pizza board on top of a flat bread...the final meal was a vegetarian pie which again was very standard chain pub food. After saying all of that, I accept that if you eat in a chain pub, this is what you get...I just feel they could do so much better. All in all, it was a nice night, slightly let down by the food.

Lovely place, has the country pub feel about it even in a more modern setting. Food was excellent and very filling. For once I refused pudding! I would recommend booking a table as we did as it was very busy especially on a Sunday afternoon.

Lovely Sunday Lunch. It was busy for a Sunday afternoon so there was a bit of a wait for food. However it was well worth the wait. Roast beef, potatoes and veg all delicious. Every well cooked. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Ideal for family meals with babies and young children. We all left feeling full.

Lack lustre service,no atmosphere,basic ' pub grub' The baked camembert was overcooked and stringy,cheap quality,the pate looked highly suspect,bright pink and obviously chea The Sunday lunch was poor,burnt vegetables,miserly portions.We did t stay for pudding or coffee Would NOT recommend I'm a coeliac,told the staff and was still very ill for the rest of the weekend,very disappointed!

This was the first time we had eaten here and chose to come for Sunday lunch, however we were bitterly disappointed. The food was well presented but bland and luke warm , the gravy was watery , meat was sliced razor thin with no flavour, and the crispy roasters promised on the menu were miss sold . Everything tasted as if it had come out of a packet . We voiced our concerns to the staff who obliged us with a 20% discount - however £6 off a £50 bill did nothing to tempt us back . The service and atmosphere was good .

What a lovely place, very clean and lovely decor. we were very impressed with the food and the service. Millie & Chris were so helpful and friendly and made us feel welcome. The food is amazing, and it was nice to have waitress service. we are planning to take the family back there very soon

Fantastic Sunday Roast, great value and so much of it had no room for a dessert ! Highly recommended, especially the Topside Beef.

Really lovely meal and excellent service provided by very friendly and efficient staff. They accommodated a table of 12 of us and all meals were good. Better than your normal pub grub and look forward to returning again.

Visited with friends. Had the burger. As I practice a low carb diet I asked if I could have the burger without bun and replace the fries with a salad. The burger was tasty but the salad was just 5 peices of rocket. Come guys if I ask for salad I expect a salad so not a good experience for me and sadly won't be re visiting.

The atmosphere was very welcoming someone was at the entrance so no waiting around it was also very easy to book online, table was ready and information was concise and helpful we ordered drinks and were left to peruse menu, nothing was hurried neither were we left unattended meal was good and plenty of it, staff friendly, the experience was excellent and I will be returning
