Excellent service from Rick especially as my Grandma struggled and he were very helpful. The food was delicious and came very quickly.

My wife & I visited as a little Friday evening treat & we were very well looked after by Jude. Very attentive staff during a very busy period.

We can't speak highly enough of the fantastic experience the Inkwell team provided for us in Saturday. It was my Mom's birthday and your team made sure she had an amazing time. Sue was our waitress and she was exceptional - she was friendly, attentive and always made sure we had enough drinks and food. Lilly was lovely, made sure we had everything we needed. We were sat in the corner, in a separate space, which was nice for our birthday celebrations.

Our serving staff, Sue, was attentive, friendly and thoughtful (especially when it came to moving past some very noisy people standing right next to us as we were eating…thank you Sue!) The meals were delicious and arrived in good time. Very enjoyable experience, will go again and will recommend :)

Booking a table at short notice online was very straightforward. Member of staff at reception and waitress were friendly and helpful. Service and and quality and quantity of food were both very good.

I wouldn't normally do a Marstons. But I have to say this venue has been done beautifully. With open fire place. Dog friendly, and the food and service were fantastic 👌 and all very reasonably priced. Lots of parking. 2 x disabled bays

All round experience excellent food and service - our son is scared of dogs - Laura was really helpful with this - she showed us to a quiet comer to wait and then let us use the separate room/area at the back of the pub away from any dogs - really thoughtful and helpful - excellent service really appreciated - thank you Laura.

Me and my family came in at lunch today. I can be quite a pain and struggle to find food i can eat while im out as im garlic intolerant, Rich and Sal were nothing kind supportive and helpful and come up with a solution. Im very greatful, did not feel an inconvenience and the familys meals where all enjoyable. Am very greatful for an experience that elsewhere usually makes me feel a problem. Thank you again

Well tonight, myself & hubby dined at The Inkwell at Lichfield for the first time (table 27) & Wow 👌 From the moment we arrived to the minute we left was literally a very joyful experience. The food we ordered as follows: Olives & Houmous for starters X2 sirloin steaks, extra onion rings & peppercorn sauce.......absolutely cooked to perfection 👌 Lemon tart for pudding (to share) All of the above was delicious, huge credit to the chef 👨‍🍳 We were looked after by Sue & what a lovely lady she is too. So very attentive, polite, friendly & very lovely to talk & laugh with. Our experience was faultless & we look forward to dining with you again soon Thank you Team Inkwell, keep up the amazing work. Would definitely go here again. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. We have some fussy kids, who wanted multiple changes to meals & this wasn’t a problem. The lady waiting on, Sue, was very helpful & friendly.

Very good service, meal was average pud food but met our expectation, lovely touch with the free birthday drink. There was something missing from one of the meals but this was resolved quickly. And the staff were very helpful and attentive

Had lunch today and the customer service is exceptional, Sue and a lady called Sal were so helpful and engaging, will certainly be back again, Sue told my mom all about the weekday lunches so she will be able to come back during the week with her friend🙂🙂🙂

Great place for lunch on Sunday. I had a chicken and chorizo kebab with flatbread and fries. The fries were hot and the flatbread kebab was very tasty. Wifey had sweet potato fries, which were also good. I think most people go for the Sunday roast, which did look good. Service efficient and friendly. Good selection of beers. Plenty of room to sit even though it was busy. Has the maximum 5 rating for hygiene standards.

Waitress did come during our meal and ask if we needed another drink.she did ask if food was ok when we first started eating.

We stopped here after shopping at Waitrose after 2pm. The cafe at Waitrose closes at 2pm. We were asked if we had any allergies before being seated. I think all restaurants should do this. It may have been because they are dog friendly establishment. Dogs aren't my thing as long as they are in a separate section to where I am sitting. I think they do food all day, it was a Sunday, lots of people having late Sunday lunch or early dinner. I had a small snack from the starters menu of lamb koftas and sweet potato fries with cranberry juice. My husband had the chicken kebab with a Punk IPA beer. We didn't have a reservation, we were seated and our order was taken not long after we were seated The food didn't take long to come either. Our first time eating here. The food was nicely presented and hot. It tasted nice, will more than likely go back instead of going to Waitrose cafe. They have a small car park, we found a space as we drove in.

We often visit the Inkwell and are always pleased with the food, drinks and service. All staff are always really lovely however on our visit this Sunday our server Phoebe overheard us talking at the table with our 12 year old son who is having some difficulty with children at school. She kindly spoke to our son about her own experience of school children and took her time to not only be really kind to him and make him feel better but give him some good solid advice. She really did go above and beyond and was just so kind. Thank you so much Phoebe, you really made a difference.

Lovely relaxing afternoon meal I was served by Toni who was friendly and was treated to a pudding for my birthday by her and the two chefs Dylan and Emma who brought it out and sang happy birthday to me. Many thanks to the team you made my day. Xxx

Nice pub which is dog friendly. The service is fantastic, it's a really welcoming atmosphere and well staffed. It feels like a family run place. The issue is the food quality is quite low it , not very tasty, quite bland. Also a member of my party is vegan and there was one option a burger, which was not very edible.

From start to finish, absolutely fantastic. We were there to celebrate our daughter’s 16th birthday with family. Greeted so warmly and told not to worry about the rest of our party running late (stuck on a38). A birthday card with a free desert was waiting on the table which was a lovely touch. Our waitress we had to begin with was so friendly and really lovely. Meals were fab - no complaints. Overall great visit and would come back for sure!

First time since the refit, had lovely night, clean, the staff pleasant and attentive, had run out of a couple of options, and Guinness! but didn't spoil the night, nice chain pub food. Will be back. Update. Back again, and still good Guinness problem has never arisen again, must remember to try the "Erdington" lager.

It's a great day out going for a look around the shops then in the Inkwell for a nice meal. Sally, Sophia and Ellie all are top hosts. We've been before and will return! Just to add we have been a lot since and it's awesome! 😎

27/09/2024 Just back from a family meal at the Inkwell, I would highly recommend this lovely pub and the team - particularly Millie who looked after us all. Previous visit... Had a great evening, the food is as you’d expect from a chain but our service from Sophia was great and they also allow diners to bring dogs - there was even a treat for our pup!

The food and drinks were very good and it was a pleasant atmosphere, I will certainly eat and drink at the inkwell again

Always great service from bar staff and waiters, our dogs love it in there and the free treats are a nice bonus. Nice drinks and the food was ok too plus we enjoyed the quiz.

On arrival we were taken to our table quickly. Drinks were ordered within 15mins but waited nearly an hr for food. Food was very tasty when it arrived. Staff were friendly but it was very busy hence the wait I think. Worth a visit but maybe avoid busy times.

It was a pleasant evening meal, our waitress Millie was friendly and attentive, and our meals were delicious.

I booked a party of 25 for the Early Bird menu. I was assisted by staff in making the booking and assured we would have an area in the restaurant together. Our meal choices were excellent, the level of care and service was first class. Meals arrived quickly even for such a large party and all enjoyed their choices. Although we only visit annually to attend The National Memorial Arboretum, we will certainly return again and again. Well done folks

We were greeted as soon as we arrived and shown to our booked table 23. We were served all evening by Millie, who attended to all our needs very efficiently, considering she was serving several tables. We all had different meals starters mains and deserts. All were served together and with no Waite between course s .Our food wàs good and faultless. Some of the portions were large, which is not a bad thing and we were given take away boxes for what we could not manage. It was my daughter s 30th birthday, so we couldn't have been more pleased with our visit. The prices were fair and not to expensive. Credit to everyone, from kitchen, bar and front of house. I would highly recommend the ink well.

Lovely pub we’ve been here a few times. The food was amazing as always however the Sunday lunch was missing 3 items from the description, stuffing balls, pork crackling and horseradish sauce. There was no mention that these items were unavailable when the orders were placed. No waitress came to the table to ask if everything was ok with our meals which is pretty standard in most pubs and restaurants. It hasn’t put us off and we will visit again soon.

My friend brought here Staff not professional we sat near kitchen all could hear was shouting The servers were rude food not great for price ! It was empty in here l woulder why . Staff do not give you time to finish what your trying to say . Nice seating in summer for drinks that's it ....

Need to look at portion sizes. The cheese, potato and leek pie came with one slice of carrot, and very few beans, The mash was hidden under the pie as it was so small.

Food was great however might be worth reviewing the mocktail recipe as the nojito and zingy lemonade was very bitter and had to add more water to it.

First time here meeting my cousin for Sunday lunch, half way for each of us. Had read on reviews staff lovely and would like to second that. On entry to leaving every single one was attentive and friendly especially our waiter Josh. He couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. The food was tasty, great portions and well priced. Noticed the tables were cleaned as soon as people left but there was no rush to actually leave. We definitely outstayed out provisional 'slot'. Couldn't have picked a better place, we both had a lovely afternoon. Thanks.

We came for the fast EV charger, got enticed by the aesthetics and stayed for the food. A lovely pub, with a welcoming look and great food - we visited with an idea of having a drink while the car charged on their EV chargers and ended up ordering some food for the kids and some starters for us. The service was great, they were friendly and approachable whilst making sure we had everything we needed. The Yorkshire puddings were impressive, and overall a great place to be! Happy to go back anytime, regardless of battery status on the car!

Brought my son here for a meal, very cosy and clean pub, our server Phoebe was lovely and polite, the food was excellent so compliments to the chefs. Had been a couple of years before I last came here it was called the Saxon Penny then. Parking is alittle limited but being next to a Waitrose it's not much of a issue. I will definitely be returning.
