Brewhouse & Kitchen Lichfield in Lichfield

Have come here regularly for the last couple of years, booked it for an event in November and preordered food. When we arrived the tables were filthy, a number of chairs were broken. As the evening progressed the man behind the bar had no desire to be there, had to be asked to serve by his supervisor several times throughout the night despite queues at the bar. Our preordered food arrived with a significant amount missing. We raised this and were initially told everything arrived. We disagreed, it was looking into further and then it was agreed not everything came out. We spent over £500 on food and was offered a goodwill gesture of £45. It's not a goodwill gesture to be refunded for items that didn't arrive. The attitude of the staff dealing with this was disappointing to say the least and they tried to put the blame on us as though we had not ordered food, despite it all being paid for in advance and confirmed on email. Spoke to a man at head office who said he would be back in touch. He didn't get back in touch. After chasing, again, we were offered a refund of £200 which was processed and then later cancelled. 6 weeks after the event and we have received no refund and nobody is replying. An awful way to treat customers and a bizarre approach to service. Lichfield is saturated with bars and in an ever demanding and challenging time for hospitality to actively push customers out and go out of your way to make sure they never come back and feel the need to leave a negative review is insane to me. I wouldn't waste a penny going here again and will happily recommend others do the same.

Sam was a fabulous waiter. Very polite and deserves a pay rise for excellent service! The table and seats could have done with a refurb as looking very dirty and worn. Prices could have been cheaper

An amazing gin masterclass today with Sam! He was so knowledgable and the gins were great. Also followed this up with his recommendation on food and more drinks and it was all perfect! Can highly recommend.

Lovely place - homely and welcoming. We ordered 4 meals - the haddock and burger were delicious but the pie meals were extremely disappointing. My husband and I had no chance of eating the pastry on either the festive pie or the steak and ale - it was thick, rock hard and overdone. The festive pie meal said it came with wilted kale… there wasn’t even a quarter of one leaf of kale and this was mixed in with the single quenelle of mash. My husbands steak and ale pie should have come with ‘crispy onions’ - we asked where they were and were told they didn’t have any and the waitress walked away - no alternative offered. First restaurant in all of my 62 years where I left hungry

Had a lovely time popping in here with my family. My server Sam was great, very attentive and really friendly.

Great choice of beers, many brewed on the premises. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and the food we had was excellent. Will definitely visit again.

I booked my school Christmas party here for 47 people and hired the two upstairs rooms exclusively for us with a private bar. I spoke to Darcey, who was fabulous organising all our dietary needs etc! and Dave was excellent behind the bar. The food was amazing too! I would highly recommend having a party here the staff and food are wonderful.

Great range of beers, get a good amount to try, good experience and Sophia was an amazing host. Great day out, enjoyed by all.

We had our works do here, 16 of us and we had a brilliant experience. Food was beautiful, atmosphere was buzzing. We would definitely go back.

Went for lunch and was served by Sam we had a toddler with us but this wasn’t an issue he seated us and took our order and wasn’t phased by the toddler asking him lots of questions. He had good knowledge of the Drinks available and when we ordered food it arrived swiftly but fresh cooked. The Entity non alcoholic lager was very refreshing also. There was a fire lit that warmed the place and added to the atmosphere. Enjoyed and thought was reasonable price for quality of food we had.

We had a Beer & Whiskey pairing session conducted by the lovely Sophia. I already knew a lot of what she told us but she was very friendly and presented the information well. She is a charming knwlegeable person and an asset to your company. Make sure you get her back after she's had the baby. The Beer and whiskey portions were generous and neither my wife or I felt we needed another drink with the food! They were all nice too, except perhaps the flowery pale ales, which aren't to my taste. The food was good. Menu was limited which is the only reason to drop to 4 stars. An all round great experience. Thank you. I can't say how much we spent as the experience was a gift.

A large number of chairs were not completely stable. Tables were broken with edges missing and splintered wood. The man behind the bar had to be asked to serve by another member of staff on a number of occasions as despite queues nobody was beings served. A glass was dropped at one point and the dustpan and brush was handed to a guest. We ordered food from their buffet menu. 150 sandwiches, we've since been told 150 sandwiches is actually 50 sandwiches cut into 3, this isn't how it's described on their menu or on our order. A large amount of this food never came out. We raised this and were initially told it all came out. Then later we were told actually it didn't all come out. It's a shame as it's always been a nice place to go out for a drink and food, but I won't be returning after this experience.

We’ve used the brewhouse for a function and it was brilliant, good food and friendly helpful staff. We’ve been for lunch recently and we could not fault anything, good service and good food! We then visited for the brunch a short while ago, and the eggs Benedict just tasted like pure vinegar, everything else was absolutely fine, but improvement required on the eggs.

Overall experience made for a well worth night, Darcey the girl that put up with us was amazing informative and knowledgeable, trying to deal with a bunch who were seasoned ale and Whisky drinkers. As a paring experience it was a great event, polished off with a decent bit of food. What can I say would I do it again absolutely, as long as the other staff are as good as Darcey

Place was nice. Food was average. We had a Sunday roast it was warm not hot. I managed to catch a waitress about half way threw eating our meals and explained that we had no Yorkie pudding on our meal. Good as gold she fetched them for us but they were stone cold. I kind of gave up then Doubt if we.d go there again.

We did the whiskey and beer tasting experience, which was a good night to be fair, worth doing, great little gift for someone.

Love this place love the food and the service but what made my experience is the lad who served me today Kieran gadsby engaged well was attentive and helpful above and beyond made me and my partner feel extremely welcome and as if there wasn't enough he could do to make our experience top rate great addition to a fantastic place defo 5 stars

The setting is lovely, our table was reserved for us as planned. The staff are very friendly and efficient. The beer is very good too, with lots to choose from, there is surely something for everyone. The food is good, the quality isn’t bad, however the portions are small and when you consider the price the food doesn’t seem value for money to me. It’s a shame, as other than this it would have been a great experience.

Went in the Brewhouse for drinks after the theatre. Fantastic service from Dylan, Kieran and Megan - very friendly and courteous. Will be visiting again. Very hard working team.

My wife and I arrived quite late and I could see the staff closing the kitchen so I asked if we could have a meal..I explained we had an awful journey to Megan and Kayleigh and they couldn't do enough for us. The welcome was great and so was the meal. Well done and keep it up. A great start to our weekend break in Litchfield.

We popped in here for a quick bite to eat and a drink after some shopping. Service was absolutely spot on, the coffees we had were really nice as was the food. Amazing service by Megan who was helpful and friendly. We will be back next time we’re in Lichfield.

Very impressed with the service. I have an allergy to dairy milk and the pub did not have any non dairy alternatives. However,our server arranged a trip to the shop to quickly stock soya milk to serve several delicious soya cappuccinos. Much appreciated.

This was my first time there. It was a family gathering of 8. The service was excellent. All the meals were brought swiftly together. The drinks were very good. The food was tasty and hot. The desserts were very good and enjoyable. Totally recommend it.

Visited on Sunday and had the Three Meat Roast and vegetarian wellington. Both perfectly cooked, the "beer can" chicken was fantastic. Service was friendly and efficient.

Our server, Sam, was superb. As a coeliac he went above and beyond going back to the kitchen 4 times to check on things to make certain that my food would be safe for me to eat. I ordered the burger with a gf bun. It was delicious, succulent with a soft seeded bun and burger sauce...not something you get very often.

Me and brother came for a brewing experience. Tom and Harris gave us a great day, explaining the process and answering our many questions. We both got stuck in from start to finish. We have both been on brewery tours before but never been involved in the process. Breakfast and lunch were provided with many beers to taste along the way. This is beer tasting coupled with brewing which adds the extra element. We will be back late October to hopefully sample the product we helped produced. Many thanks, would highly recommend.

Manageress Charlotte once again yesterday Friday made our meetings in your bar there very very good ... she was exceptionally attentive to our coffee, tea and drinks needs, and she was incredibly pleasant too. And THAT is why we use Brewhouse. Thank you Charlotte.

Popped in with my laptop for some lunch and a coffee as I usually work from home, was served by Dave who was very friendly and made sure I was well looked after, definitely popping back in soon!

A rainy Sunday night but cheered up on entering this welcoming pub. Cheerful greeting from Kieron who was our server for the evening. A good range of beers and a varied food menu pleased all 4 of us. Will come again next time we are in Lichfield.

Went on a Saturday for the Brewing Masterclass. The initial educational element was drowned out by the music in the bar…would have been very difficult for someone with hearing impairment. However, when we were taken to the tasting section, the quality of experience was much stronger. Sophia was excellent in her role, with some interesting anecdotes around each beer and a real love and understanding of the craft of brewing. 10 tasting beers later, and I was certainly very happy for the rest of the day!

Lovely meal here. Food was delicious and plenty of choice for food and drink. Found the online ordering not so good as not everything on the menu was online, so order with a member of staff that we had to prompt them with a few times. Other than this a lovely experience.

Brewers Masterclass - had a talk given by Sophia followed by a tasting session (8 different beers). Sophia was very friendly and knowledgeable, which made the experience well worth the money. We didn't eat.

Working from Lichfield city centre, I discovered Brewhouse & Kitchen's work space offer - £10 for lunch, unlimited hot and soft drinks and work space...sat next to craft beer brewing equipment...my ideal space. 😂 I chose the house baked focaccia sandwich with Spicy BBQ pulled shitake mushrooms...it was delicious! Great staff, really friendly team, lovely space and brilliant offer. If you need somewhere to work from in Lichfield, definitely worth visiting.

Would not attend here ever again !!!! Never have I ever witnessed such Rude , disrespectful and immature staff !! Food wasn’t great either . Manager was very understanding but female staff were awful !!! I would actually not give a star !!!

The food menu is quite limited. If you’re not in the mood for a burger, there aren’t many other appealing options. We ordered our food and drinks through the app, but the drinks didn’t arrive before or with the food, and we had to ask for them. We visited on a Saturday evening, and the atmosphere was lively and noisy.

We booked a function area at The Brewhouse Lichfield to celebrate our baby’s 1st Birthday. We had a young guy serving us who was very helpful! However, not all the food we ordered arrived and we had to ask for it. We were informed that the area would be sectioned off for us, but people kept coming into the area and also took some of the food. It was a bit disappointing, because it took the shine off a lovely celebration!

Lovely place to eat and have a drink. Been here before for the beer masterclass and enjoyed it so decided to go again to start our day out in Lichfield. Would definitely recommend. Great selection of drinks and lovely staff.

Lovely pub, the food I had was amazing ,so good I can't stop thinking about it. Only issue I had was a waiter accidently spilt a drink all over the table and all.over me when putting the tray on the table. I was soaking wet

I cannot speak for the whole party of seven. The staff were great - friendly and efficient. We were particularly grateful when they turned off the music! Atmosphere was a bit lacking as this was Tuesday lunchtime - very different to the Sarurday buzz of my first visit. My fish "gujons" were disappointing: more batter than fish. And my wife's roasted halloumi lacked halloumi, tiny flakes of which finally came in a small bowl when she complained. Overall impression: I think a beer drinker would enjoy the place more than I did. Unfortunately, I gave up alcohol recently (doctor's advice). Thanks anyway. We had a good family chat in a quiet environment.

A poorly thought out menu. The food was of very poor quality, either red hot or cold. Very disappointed. Small portions sizes.

My partner & I had a super Sunday lunch today, which was delicious. Charlotte the Manager was serving us,polite friendly very knowledgeable about different beers we were enquiring about. Excellent service, great atmosphere. We will be returning & spreading the word.

Came in for food and had a delicious burger, was really impressed by the choice of beers too! Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, definitely will be coming back!

Didn’t eat just called in for a drink. Ordered a bottle of house wine and asked if it was dry and what grape it was. Poor girl behind the bar hadn’t got a clue, mind you the manager wasn’t much better - maybe a bit of basic training is needed? In the end the wine was lovely and we sat and had a pleasant drink outside. Biggest issue were toilets they absolutely stank, maybe some basic hygiene standards are required?

Service was good at the start. We ordered 3 meals, 2 were nice but the 3rd half chicken wasn’t warm, asked for it to be heated up which they did without a problem. The chicken was pink inside, didn’t feel confident to eat it as it had been cold to begin with. Staff weren’t bothered really, said it was meant to be like that. We were never rude or unpleasant but the staff just didn’t seem to care, then put a 10% service charge on. I always pay a tip even when not required but I did not feel this was appropriate.

The Lichfield Chess Club meets here most Mondays and as the social organiser, I'm impressed with the helpfulness of the staff.

I booked a workspace on Thursday for a couple of hours to get out of the house & focus on some work. The staff were lovely, food was AMAZING! WIFI was very slow which was an issue but I also had done stuff to do on paper so I was still able to get work done. I’ll be coming back!

I hold my painting events at the Brewhouse Lichfield, I’ve always been made welcome and the rooms are always ready for me. Food is delivered almost instantly and the staff helpful and welcoming. I’ve learned to avoid Mondays because of chess club, and Tuesdays are wonderful evenings spent being creative and meeting lots of new people. Thanks to Peter for opening the rooms up for community groups. I love it! Special mention to the young lady working upstairs yesterday evening (21st May) she was wonderful and a real asset to your staff team x

Myself and my brother came here for lunch. We had the burgers which were amazing. Everything tasted really fresh, we were served by Sara who was lovely and made sure we had everything we needed during our meal.
