Lovely Indian Vegetarian restaurant overlooking Bath Abbey. Had a quick lunch there during a Bath shopping outing. The food was fresh and delicious.

Very good meal, note that it is vegetarian food! I recommend!

This restaurant gets top marks all round. The thali had an amazing assortment of dishes with exquisite flavours..... it's clear the chef really knows what he's doing! The service was very polite and efficient - extremely professional. I can honestly say that this evening's meal was the best Indian I have ever eaten. Many thanks to you all for such a wonderful experience!

Delicious food, friendly staff, reasonable prices

Purely by chance we visited this lovely restaurant after visiting the thermal baths. Delightful meal in a cosy dining room that you couldn’t envisage at street level! Warm welcome and great service. The waiter made sure our Tandoori shared plate came out before the shared Thali so as to make sure all food was eaten hot. A little thought made a big difference. Excellent dishes and we will visit again when we come back to Bath!

As a restaurant owner myself, I understand how challenging it can be to maintain high standards, consistency, and the right atmosphere. But kudos to the owner and the management team at this Indian restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, authentic, and had that comforting 'home-cooked' feel. Vegetarian and vegan delights, absolutely recommend this place. The mango lassi is divine, the decor is a winner overlooking the abbey, the staff are always lovely and service is prompt. There’s a glorious taster thali menu but there’s complete sense in coming back regularly and eating your way around the menu.

The service was prompt, and the portions were generous for the price. Pocket friendly prices are nice and amazing location.

I was looking forward to my visit here, just craving some Indian home food but was left utterly disappointed. I was waiting at the counter to be sat when one of the staff asked me to sit on a table, not even 2 mins later another staff member comes up to me and in the most rude tone says “we have explicitly written on the door to wait to be seated.” You think anyone would want to continue eating after such a welcome? Polite communication can go a long way.

The best place I ever visited... Cocktails are the best ....food is best....10 on 10 for this restaurant guys....please try otherwise you will regret... Best service....Best atmosphere... Keep it up... worth money and time

I am deeply disappointed and disturbed by the appalling experience I had at this restaurant. From the moment I interacted with the staff, it was clear that respect and professionalism were completely absent. The person in charge was shockingly rude, openly racist, and judgemental, making me feel humiliated and unwelcome. Their behavior was so offensive that we left without even taking our meal. This kind of disgraceful treatment has no place in any business, especially one that serves the public.No one should have to endure such disrespect and discrimination.

I had a very disappointing experience at this location. The woman who working there was (seems like manager/incharge) incredibly rude and unprofessional. Not only was she dismissive and unhelpful, but her behavior also seemed to be racially charged, which made the situation even more uncomfortable.we returned immediately even did not want to have food,It’s unacceptable for anyone to be treated this way, take this seriously to ensure future customers don’t have the same negative experience

It is a nice vegetarian restaurant, highly recommended. You can just pop in even during the holiday period.

The place is highly recommended for vegetarian food, you get good chats, the dishes can be made as per your required spice levels, highly recommended dishes would be daal makhani, nan, kulcha, ajar halwa, dahi puri, fresh idli, freshly squeezed juices.

We have been eating here since the restaurant opened and because we don't live in Bath, we always worry that standards might slip when we visit. No need to worry. Dosas still the best outside of London and starters outstanding (samosas and chaats). Service friendly and interested in customers. Wine list is also good, which isn't usually a given. Wonderful to see the restaurant thriving and long may it do so. Looking forward to our next visit already.

Had a bad experience with the restaurant staff. Food was a scam with four empty hollows as a dahi puri. The staff was more attentive and sweet towards other customers and rude to our fellow Indians. Left the place halfway as there’s no point in paying money to get a bad experience.

You do live up to your name guys! You literally take us back to home soil with your authentic INDIAN food and you always TEMPT us to make that hour long drive just to satistfy the craving called ‘Bath Indian temptation food’. Thanks to all of you for the great work you are doing. There is no visitor to our home who has left the region without being dragged to your restaurant for a meal and thankfully nobody has gone back disappointed. The thali is a must try and so is just about everything else. The dahi puri was a shocking fiasco on one occasion but the lovely managers were quick to correct it. Ambience is not to my particular liking and defo needs a huge upgrade but I force myself to disregard that. I personally find the food a bit on the expensive side compared to the quantity but the 5 stars inspite of the above downsides says it all isn’t it :) Updates : kudos to Indian Temptation for allowing to share the ‘thali’ letting us enjoy our food without worrying about overeating or food wastage. Keep it up 👍

Food is always good, but the takeaway service through Deliveroo and Uber is beyond awful. Every time we order, there is some kind of problem. Frequently, entire dishes from the orders are missing, and often deliveries take well over an hour.

Best Indian food im born in England and don’t usually like Indian food but the food was amazing and it tasted really good. Also the service was great everyone was very eager to help me with anything. Definitely worth a try and I’ll be back again

Tuvimos una excelente comida en este encantador restaurante, que casi no fuimos ya que no se puede ver en desde la calle (el restaurante está a un par de tramos de escaleras). Sin embargo, nos alegramos de haber hecho el esfuerzo de echar un vistazo. Cada plato estaba perfectamente cocinado y generoso en tamaño de porción. Sumado a la vista encantadora de la Abadía desde la ventana, el ambiente en el interior era muy agradable. El personal era amable y el servicio era oportuno. Un gran lugar para los vegetarianos.

If you ever wanted to go for authentic indian food than please try to come at indian Tempataion and have a thali. I can recommend this.

The opening hours in Google map different when we arrive. We spend 20 minutes walking, and then we find it close !

Loved it, the food was excellent and the service was really good despite it being in the center of town in a relatively touristy spot. Especially loved the dosa. One recommendation for the ownership is that American tourists use the Yelp app more than google reviews, so you might want to set up a Yelp page to capture their reviews too (assuming you want more American tourists to go)

Incredible Indian food that matches the best you would get in India. We had the lemon rice, paratha, chana masala, mushroom curry and kale & onion bhaji, all of which were simply delicious. I’m vegan and they were very happy to make us a vegan paratha - but my partner is a meat eater and he thought it was the best Indian food he’d had in the UK. Highly recommend.

A vegetarian rarity. I’m a carnivore but enjoyed my veggie curry very much. The popadom chutney was a bit weak and sparse. Wine and beer prices higher than you’d expect. Waiters very polite. Toilet experience not pleasant.

A warm welcome from the staff. We ordered the kale and onion barjees among other things. They were excellent. The cashew curry and the dhal were also great. Delicious food, nice people and value for money. We walked out and immediately recommended it to the family looking at the outside menu.

Worst Experience as customer service was at its peak from bottom. No manners how to approach and to talk a conversation. Manager should go and take a training to train its team. Should never recommend this indian restaurant to any other person

Who would have thought you would find one of the most authentic Indian restaurant is Bath not in London. I am very touchy with indian food but as we walked in and the people next to us dived into a bowl on crunchy onions bhajias we knew the food would be good! Ordered my staple- dal makhani, paneer and garlic naan. Good portion size for three people! The couple next to us got a South Indian Thali and that looked delicious too! Really good taste! Quick service and friendly staff! The washroom was also so clean… the place is just opposite the back entrance of the Abbey so hard to miss! Highly recommend!!! Plus it is a pure vegetarian restaurant!!!!

I experienced an interaction with an arrogant server. We had ordered a plain dosa and when we were given masala dosa we sent the order back. The server came back to us with the masala dosa and told us it was for free of cost and that we should eat it. After telling him we didn't want it he insisted twice that we eat it and stressed that it was free of cost. The tone and the demeanour of the server was unprofessional and the assumption that one would jump at a free offer was appalling.

Omg I had a lovely veg food here, bendi tomato was delicious the garlic naans were perfect and crispy not at all too fat like a bread. PERFECT 👌🏻 PANEER CURRY is lovely too, all mix platter is yummy I loved the grilled jackfruit which is quite unique I never ate before

The service was excellent and flexible as we were late by British standards, it was after 9pm. We had a very good vegetarian meal - even though we hadn't planned it at first: palak paneer, roasted broccoli with mint sauce, chickpea curry, okra with tomatoes.

I went with my daughter for dinner and food was delicious and we loved the new mocktails, we thoroughly enjoyed. Would definitely recommend.

We were so grateful that the staff members at the nearby Fancy That shop in Bath recommended Indian Temptation. On June 9, my husband and I were visiting the UK for the first time and were trying hard to eat healthy. In particular, we wanted vegetables! Indian Temptation was the perfect spot for us. At first we could not open the door--thankfully a restaurant employee was nearby and showed us that we were pushing the door the wrong way, haha! Once upstairs in the restaurant, our table by the window had a lovely view of Bath. The food was delicious, and the service was attentive and kind. When we sent compliments to the chef, the waiter responded that the meals were made with love.

I had a disappointing experience at Indian Temptation yesterday. While the food was passable and the smaller portion sizes were understandable given the pricing, the interaction with the staff was notably poor. Upon requesting the removal of the "OPTIONAL" service charge—citing our status as students and a preference to avoid extra costs—the manager responded rudely, stating that such requests should be made beforehand as per their policy. This raises concerns: if declared upfront, would it have affected the quality of service or food we received because we weren’t paying the service charge? We believe that paying a service charge should be contingent upon receiving exceptional service, which was not our experience. Moreover, as an optional fee, customers should not be required to justify their reasons for not paying it. I hope this feedback prompts the owner to reconsider the restaurant’s policies on service charges.

The portion sizes are extremely small. The naan bread was good but the rest of the portion sizes were small compared to the price of the item.

I have visited this restaurant several times and the food always good, when it arrives. Yesterday was our third time..We have recommended it to many of our friends. Their experience of visiting was not good at all, we were also not happy to hear this. And yesterday I felt the same ..i think they changed the chef. Yesterday the food was very bad, the corn potato cutlets were completely raw from inside and the koftas of Temptation Kofta Curry were also raw and soggy. Food has no flavour, the gravy of Butter Paneer and Temptation Kofta Curry was tasteless yesterday. Kiwi mint fizz was the biggest joke ever .. no flavour at all.. it was just lots of ice cube with dash of mint.. Overall experience was a disaster and I m sure I won't put my foot in again.

Lovely authentic food a year ago .... New update. This is the third time I have had food at this place. Usual spot every time I visited Bath. Almost the same order paneer items. The paneer was spiked and had the pink mold. Saw it in the last bite and couldn't help. Informed to the person there and they confronted it was a good paneer and it is masala that we are seeing. Never seen a pink masala and I can definitely differentiate between a pink mold and masala. They didn't care about it. Neither did anything to help. Fast forward to next day(today) food poisoning to one and stomach ache to the other. The masala tea they offer is the English tea with less/no milk in it. Never have it unless u want water with a thin flavor of tea. Pls don't assume masala tea in an Indian restaurant would be the regular Indian tea. The lassi especially the mango lassi doesn't have sugar in it and u r not given sugar sachet unless asked for. We didn't ask as we got it with the tea flavored water. Looks like the menu changed from the last time we visited and this new menu isn't worth it. Absolutely less rice options and two of them are almost the same and the next two are not so great. Service was still fine except for the paneer issue. For which they said the paneer was fresh while it had the pink mold. I have personally worked with pink mold in my lab. And I know and made paneer at home several times. And I am pretty sure of how a masala would look like. Based on the fact that the paneer was hard and slightly burnt I should have understood it was spoiled. Hard paneer and we foolishly thought it was on the verge of expiry only to réalisé it expired long ago. Never coming again. Seems like there are far more healthy options around Bath.

Tried Indian food for the first time in Bath. Finely decorated with varieties of Vegetarian Indian dishes. The taste was pure Indian, spiced perfectly. Tried Dosha - was a little disappointed with coconut chutney but it was a great experience.
