The reason why i have 4 stars is because they always charge you 5£ extra in the bill mentioning it as service charge, i would have this this 5£ as tip for them instead of having to pay it as a part of bill😊, other than this everything was very good, especially the friendly staff and the indian atmosphere.....only thing I'll recommend is they should give enough quantity of food.....they should improve the quantity as the meals, the biriyani bowl was a bit small

I been with my partner in lunch time because for long time we want to try this restauran, we love Bath and Indian food, our surpise was excelent, the food is superb and not expensive, the staff absolutelly brillian, the list menu very good detailed, for me it is brillian because I have so menu food alergies, we back to home very happy because we have amazing day, thank you Bandook.

My son asked to go here for his birthday and it was fantastic. The food was all excellent as was the service. The staff were very friendly and even brought my son a birthday dessert and sung Happy birthday to him which made the evening. Excellent highly recommend.

We were wandering along the street looking for some lovely food, when we found our way along this passage and we were hit by this hypnotic aroma, so we followed our noses and found ourselves here on a busy Sunday afternoon. A lovely lady greeted us and got us comfortable straight away. Oh my goodness this has been the best curry bowl that I have ever had! We had a Tiger Prawn curry bowl and the railways lamb curry bowl. The flavours were incredible, we had naan breads light as clouds, rice, gunpowder fries and a spinach side which was delicious coupled with such warm service. We even had wine and desserts.. sooo good.

The food at Bandook is delicious. They use a standard spice level. This is great because you can request milder or hotter dishes based on personal preference. There are various choices for vegetarian coeliacs. This is so good to see as many restaurants offer very limited options. The staff offered great advice to help inform our order. Thank you!

Top quality service and exceptional food! We walked in and were welcomed warmly and accommodated even though it was busy. We had a chatt, gobi, lamb biriyani and butter chicken. Honestly the best Indian food we've eaten recently! Would highly recommend.

I recently had the absolute pleasure of dining at Bandook Indian Kitchen on Milsom Street, Bath, and I can’t recommend it highly enough! My wife, my son, his partner, and I visited on a Sunday night to celebrate my birthday, and it turned out to be an unforgettable evening. From start to finish, everything was exceptional. The food was nothing short of phenomenal—each dish was bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly made with the highest quality ingredients. It’s rare to find Indian cuisine that feels both authentic and elevated, but Bandook nails it perfectly. Every bite was a delight, and it’s safe to say we left with full stomachs and happy hearts. The service was equally impressive. The staff were attentive without being overbearing, promptly taking our orders and delivering our food with flawless timing. They demonstrated an impressive knowledge of the menu, offering thoughtful recommendations that made our meal even better. Above all, they were polite, professional, and genuinely warm—qualities that made us feel so welcome. What truly set the night apart, though, was the wonderful surprise at the end. Really overpriced and the food was mid, as an Indian who's eaten in many Indian restaurants in the UK, there is much nicer stuff out there for way cheaper. It's like the restaurants over decoration is trying to distract you from how bad the food is

Went to this place on rainy day in Bath. Fully drenched, me and my friends ordered some starters and drinks first. My 4 friends and me had vada pav, keema pav, prawns koliwada, jackfruit biryani, and more. The staff was really polite and guided us through the menu and food recommendations. Overall we had a good time there. I would recommend people visiting or staying in Bath to visit this place for a distinguished dining experience.

To one of the best Indian food ever had in the UK. The food, the service and the atmosphere were above expectations. The staff is really welcoming and friendly. Loved our time here and we will definitely come back at Bandook whenever in Bath.

We have dined at Bandook 3 times when visiting Bath now and this is by far an incredible dining experience. We decided to host a pre wedding meal for 26 people the manager was very helpful in organising this and accommodating to the kids and veggies in the group. On the night the staff were brilliant and very approachable and we were greeted by the owner too who showed took great interest in us. We actually decided to dine there again after our wedding as we fancied some fish and lamb chops and again the team were so happy to see us and we had another great meal this time trying some some small plates too - I very impressed with the fried bindi and pakora bites which we decided to experiment with alongside the meat dishes. The set menu for the group booking was more curry based (butter chicken and lamb curry). We dine alot in London so to taste curries better than some places at home was good, will defo visit Bandook again on the next trip.

We hadn't booked, one of the best curries I've had and recommend the disassembled samosa to start.

The restaurant fancies itself as a fine dining establishment. The wait staff are lovely and attentive. What lets this restaurant down is the rude front of house manager lady and the extortionate prices. The lamb chop starter I ordered cost £13 contained 2 very thin lamb chops that were tough and overcooked. The portions were small and we left feeling hungry, despite spending over £75 on just food.

We came all the way from Scotland, and chose Bandook to spend my birthday eve and we were extremely happy about everything there. Drinks- very original and creative and hit you right on spot Starters- we ordered 5 small plates and ate every bit of it. Mine two absolute favourites were pav bhaji and bandook chaat, reminded me of home. Main course was great as well Their service and friendly staff is cherry on cake. A special shout out to Afsana and shirju. They also surprised me with a complimentary mango cheesecake, which we devoured all. I could eat one more portion of that. Manager and chef both were kind enough to take out time to speak with us. He even cared to serve us birthday shots. Overall great experience, would recommend any time. Great work team!

There is no point of charging "service charges" of £6 something. Food taste was good and in good quantity. "Sides" are extremely expensive for eg pakoras are 7 pounds a plate. Absolutely no value for money for the sides exclusively. Servers were very nice people

An exceptional Indian restaurant. We've never tried this style of Indian food before and after our visit here we'll be looking for restaurant's like this when we return home from our holiday.

Went there last night following a local recommendation. Had the broccoli, chops, paratha, prawns for small plates and half a roast chicken under the large plates with a raspberry gin cocktail and a vanilla vodka cocktail. This was probably one of the best meals I have tasted in a while and was so happy to have gone. If I am back in Bath I will be back. Definitely worth the effort locating this place.

Absolute gem of a place. Incredible value for their lunch menu - £15 for pilau rice, lamb/chicken curry and either samosa chaat or kale pakora chaat. At that price its easily the best value for money Indian I have ever had and third best curry i have ever had in the uk (including Gibraltar which has my number 1) All of it was cooked to perfection and the kale pakora chaat in particular was on another level. My partner is gluten free and the only issue she had with the gluten free options was the excessive choice! Barely anything contained gluten which was pleasing to see (my mum is also a coeliac and i’ll be bringing her!) Staff were attentive and friendly and even when we payed and were just finishing our drinks, they gave us a complementary cup of tea 👍

Bandook has some really delicious food (especially the pani puri and the chaats) and is a very well designed restaurant with a gold atmosphere. We have, however, found the staff to be a little abrupt which can come across as rude. We will, however, keep returning because the street-food style small plates are extensive tasty and they have a fantastic range of vegetarian options. This is not the place to go if you are looking for a big curry, rice and a naan, but deffo give it a go if you are up for sharing small plates and trying new delicious food!

What an incredible experience dining here. Came here on Saturday afternoon and there's not many customers at that time. We were greeted by Moe the manager, and he was really friendly, polite and attentive. He confirmed that the chicken and lamb were halal. The waitress that took our order was well versed with the menu options, and gave great suggestions to choose from. We ordered Railway Lamb Curry and Old New Delhi Butter Chicken, plus Steamed Rice and Garlic Naan to add on. They're absolute perfection! The lamb was really tender and doesn't have a strong smell. Ultimately before we left, Moe kindly let us taste the Indian Cheesecake, which was super delicious too. This restaurant is highly recommended. I would love to come again and try different dishes from the menu.

Went here for my graduation dinner and the staff were so friendly, they were very nice , the food was decent- maybe not the best Indian food I’ve had 😅( the dhal and butter chicken was a bit disappointing for me) but the chicken wings 😋, and prawn starters were so so good. The passion fruit mojito was very very good as well- the best one I’ve had yet. Honestly an amazing experience all over ☺️ and also a very good price point. My family was very satisfied and very happy so thank you Bandook☺️

Don't fall for the reviews the biryani tastes so bad and dry the gravy was barely passable as gravy they were bland and oily.

A local recommended this restaurant. I had never seen a menu like Bandook’s so I asked for guidance from our server. She was exceptionally helpful so we went with her suggestions. The food is nothing short of fantastic!! Fresh, flavourful and subtly spiced. We were so impressed with the food and friendly staff, we returned with friends two days later. This place is a real treasure.

lamb was well cooked, all the food was great! a bit on the expensive side (the only draught beer Cobra was £7 a pint) but don’t mind paying for quality food. The chilli paneer was also a winner, would definitely recommend to others! thanks!

We were in Bath for the Rugby so the City was very busy . We Came across Bandook whilst out walking and searching for a eatery Although we hadn’t booked we were offered a table after a five to ten minutes wait Welcoming friendly staff Happy to give us recommendation’s from the menu We had a small plate deep fried cauliflower to start , 1 large plate one bowl and a naan and some rice super tasty and fragrant so good we ordered another bowl dish Comfortable great atmosphere very happy to recommend but would suggest booking in advance Bill for three with a couple of drinks just over £80 with a service charge pre added .

Lovely tasty meals that you can ask for to be tailored to the spice you need. Chicken wings and squid were amazing. Curry choice seemed limited but grandmas was very nice with the extra green chilli kick, and there was plenty in the bowl. My vegetarian and gluten free friends were very impressed with their options. Only slight disappointment was the soggy biscuit they put into my small £11 martini meaning i couldn’t drink much as there was gross wet biscuit floating in half of it and also once we finished dinner and were waiting for desert, the staff were all chatting and non attentive and in the end, after a long wait, we had to ask to get someones attention to order. All in all, I recommend this to friends and colleagues bar the martini and hopefully table service is a little more planned/frequent after menus are dropped off.

What an incredible experience. The service was amazing and it was my first time eating Indian food. It’s incredibly tasty. I recommend the chicken curry. They prepared for me an extra mild one which still has a little kick to it, but was delicious.

Great pre Christmas night away in Bath, we had a night at the Double Tree Hilton just a very short walk to Bandook, a restaurant we love! Had a lovely meal to the accompaniment of s Jazz band which was so good we went back for breakfast! Which was equally good, when we had a spicy Egg Paratha, green tea with Almond and Cardamom cake, which my wife loved!!

Without doubt the best Indian food we have ever had. We had two starters, three small plates and a main between us with a small pot of rice and a divine naan. More than enough to be honest but there was none left! Service great- almost too quick so needed to ask for a rest before the main- atmosphere excellent. Superb!

Came to Bath for the weekend ended up stumbling upon this restaurant was super busy. However, the manager Moe who was excellent managed to give us a table. The service was very fast and incredibly welcoming. The food was mouthwatering, would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Lovely staff, very helpful and friendly. A bit different to the normal Rogan and Dhansak dishes I usually aim for, but the flavours and variety of dishes were amazing! Would recommend trying a number of the ‘small plates’, then mixing/sharing them. The Railway Lamb Curry certainly went down very well with me!

Been twice. Some excellent food, some distinctly mediocre. Never had a cold beer.

This was truly a wonderful experience! The staff were super friendly and helpful with us deciding what to eat. We chose to share 5 small plates between 2 of us, and they did not disappoint! The Tandoori Broccoli was absolutely delicious, along with the Paneer Tikka. So tasty with every mouthful! I also had a Christmas special cocktail : Drunken Mango Lassi… it was a taste sensation and went perfectly with our meal. It should be a permanent cocktail on the menu!

Munch was excellent!! Raj was a charming host and gave me an all round experience. He gave us a free lamb sauce and explained why it goes so well with naan bread.

Good food is essential in a restaurant, and finding a good Indian restaurant isn't easy. So many serve a brown mush on a bed of rice. It could be anything. The food here was very well presented and in addition, smelled and tasted great. Atmosphere is another quality that some miss out on, but here it's good. Eating an Indian meal at miiday is not everybody's idea of lunch. When those of who do find a decent restaurant, it's nice to have other people around. Popularity is also a pretty good measure of the quality. We'll be back

Easily on a par with some of the best food I've had in India and definitely the best I've had the in the UK. The Punjabi Lamb Chops in particular were absolute perfection; I would happily have eaten a whole platter of them and still craved more. My only complaint was that everything on the menu sounded delicious and so making a decision as to what to order was extremely challenging. Service was spot on and the price was very fair considering the quality of the food. If I lived in Bath I'd be eating at Bandook at every possible opportunity!

I took my cousin, who was visiting from Singapore, to Bandook tonight - and we had an exceptional experience. The ambiance was fantastic, with a live band playing jazz, creating the perfect atmosphere. As always, the service was attentive and the food was outstanding. My cousin isn’t usually a fan of spicy dishes and doesn’t often eat Indian cuisine, but he mentioned that Bandook completely changed his mind. The menu caters to a variety of tastes, and every dish was incredibly flavorful. Bandook is a must-visit for anyone coming to Bath. Our favorites included the lamb chops, Bombay prawns, chili paneer, and lamb biryani. Thank you for a memorable evening!

A family lunch visit - great time

Walked in for dinner with out a reservation. Restaurant very busy but only had to wait for a few minutes for a table. Food was amazing. As we're the cocktails. And the staff. Had a great meal here. Would recommend

Visited this place at Bath. They poured us water and from the bottle appeared a fly in the glass. The waiter just took the glass away and got a new one and continued pouring from the same bottle that had a fly in it. Very average food, cocktails were below average. The Ramos Gin Fizz was subpar, they had a paan flavoured cocktail which was decent.

A "Thumbs Up" from me. Indian Sodas - Thumbs Up and Limca Their is only a subtle difference between these drinks and their western counterparts (coke and lemonade). Thumbs Up is flavoured with sugar instead of high fructose syrup, and consequently their is a caramel note. Limca as both lemon and lime juice in it's recipe which adds a subtle tartness when compared to Lemon Fanta I would recommend getting one for novelty - however they are by no means necessary for your experience here. Squid Koliwada (Small Plate) It is not everyday that you find fish on the menu at an Indian - much less squid. Intrigued and feeling adventurous I ordered it. The squid itself was well cooked and crucially it was not too thick nor to thin. Too thick and it is too rubbery - too thin and it feels that you get all batter. The sticky spicy sauce was tasty and added a Thai note to the dish. Ample spring onion and chilli ensured texture and flavour changed throughout the experience. Nannwich - Chicken Tikka (Large Plate) I was not in the mood for a curry and decided to try this novel menu item, however this is where Bandook let itself down; Firstly - the filling of the sandwich was lukewarm. I imagine this is on account of preparing the food of my other 4 colleagues, and neglecting to put the item under a heat lamp, or at least, forgetting to remove the top part of the naan, shielding the filling from the heat. Secondly - the filling itself left something to be desired. It was incredibly dry. Vegetables and chicken tikka, but no sauce! I was provided a thimble of tomato ketchup, but it was not sufficient to lubericate the contents of the sandwich. Thirdly - the ketchup itself was an odd paring with naan bread. Perhaps a korma/dopiaza style sauce would lend itself better. Overall 4/5. Would recommend - but don't have the nannwich.

A premium restaurant with lovely decor and interior. The welcome and service was good as you'd expect but whole the food was good and flavourful, it failed to impress. The grilled wings tasted nice and was presented well when served, however the chicken itself didn't seem fresh. I enjoyed the butter chicken, paneer tikka masala and the lamb biryani. The lamb biryani had a good quantity of meat pieces. Overall it was definitely worth visiting - its inside Milsom Place so not visible from the road itself. Milsom place is an indoor shopping parade.

Authentic indian food, best of all is the different chats they serve, kale pakora chat is so crispy and sumptious, dal makhni is buttery and soya lababdar tastes amazing, highly recommend.
