Very friendly staff. The food is delicious. We had Grandma’s chicken curry, kurkuri bhindi, and the paneer. Everything was delicious including the chai. Can’t wait to try again.

Very good restaurant good food great staff. I ordered their signature chicken dish and I must say really good quality and chicken was very well cooked. Staffs have been very helpful with recommendations and genuine suggestions. Special thanks to Mr. Tambi, (not sure whether it’s his real name as everyone was addressing him as tambi) who helped us with his suggestions about food and showed genuineness with his customer service. Overall great experience and will definitely visit again.

Have been a few times and always been good. Love the new menu though. Came recently with a group of 12 from work and the banquet menu worked really well for us. Great service to back it up!

Was such a fabulous meal- our waiter was attentive and had great recommendations for dishes. He made sure we had vegan friendly chutney and drinks and guided us through the menu. The keralan aubergine curry was beautiful- highly recommend for veggies/vegans.

The food was not so good. The Indian lady waiter was very rude and at the back was gossiping about us. Only the English waiter was respectful.

the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and great service however if you’re looking for fresh authentic Indian food, this isn’t the one. Ordered a lot of the small plates which blended into one generic fried food taste.

Staff are very helpful and polite however that is the only good thing and that’s me being nice. The food is so watered down, you can forget flavour, it’s not your typical Asian curry and caters to a different community. I ordered the Lamb chops for starters and they were pre-made and warmed up as they were out within 2 minutes of ordering and tasted like they have been microwaved. Some would think if you pay £13 for 2 lamb chops, at the very least they would be fresh. I ordered a Curry with some Naan for main along with chicken Biryani. I asked then o make it extra spicy, Asian style and notice they have just chucked in a handful more green chillies. Curry was heavily watered down along with the Biryani tasting more like a Pileau, with its plain taste. I ordered a Mojito passion fruit and I can confidently say it tasted more like a lemon mojito. Really soar taste. Overall does not cater to the Indian or Asian market for those looking for a little flavour or kick to the food.

The food was delicious and reasonably priced, the staff were really efficient and wonderful and they were great with allergies and were wheelchair accessible.

This restaurant is clearly from heavens. A treat of authentic Indian food. And what an amazing team. The owner Moe is super humble. And Pallavi is just fabulous, she ensured we are well taken care with deliciously hot food and service.

Awesome food but ordered via Uber eats and portions were ridiculously small! 8 dishes for 4 of us and there was enough for 2!

I had a wonderful dining experience at a unique Indian restaurant called "Bandook" in Bath. Despite its name meaning "gun," the food was truly amazing. The Butter Chicken and Lamb Biryani are must-tries. The Lamb Biryani was perfectly cooked without any lamb smell, and I couldn't get enough of the Butter Chicken. The Papaya salad was delightful and the Gol Gappas were creatively served in miniature Coke bottles. The Dahi Tikki and Basket chat were also good. A must-try dessert is the Parle G Ice Cream Sandwich with Gulab Jamun. However, I'd recommend avoiding the Baked Broccoli 🥦. The staff was exceptionally friendly and humble. I especially want to thank Chef Sunil Duklan for the scrumptious food. I will definitely revisit this restaurant.

I had gunpowder fries, Lucknow lamb biriyani and a masala chai. Lamb biriyani was so delicious flavour was on point and lamb was well cooked must try iteam. Gunpowder fries was good and fresh. I tried that with some mint chutney Masala chai- average quantity was less Drinking glass were not clean some lipstick marks were there on glasses. Other than good atmosphere and good service.

Amazing place. Visited it 2 times over the weekend. The owner Moe opened the kitchen slightly early for us as we had to leave after food. Food was to die for. Would definitely recommend anyone visiting bath to have atleast 1 meal there.

Really considerate and patient staff. Dealt with my crazy family, a table of almost ten people and the food came out all on time, delicious and a great lunch time deal. Celebrated my graduation and even gave us a dessert to celebrate. 100% recommend

We popped into Bandook for lunch on Saturday after reading great reviews. We should have gone for dinner so we could have eaten more! Lunch was a assortment of staters with chutney. Staff couldnt have been more welcoming and attended to all of our requests. I had a look at the open kitchen were all the creativity took place. Such a great place. I have been selected by Jounna and Raj. They were both really helpful and kind and the service by both but specially Jounna was really high quality. The food was excellent.

This was our second visit to Bandook & we had a private function for 50+ adults & children & took over the whole restaurant, because we enjoyed the first visit so much! The management were extremely helpful & responsive during the organisation of the function. On the day the staff were wonderful - efficient, helpful, accommodating & friendly. All the food was exceptional, most especially the lamb chops, keema pav & kulfi! Definitely recommend Bandook. Superb!

Undoubtedly the best Indian food I have ever tasted. First class experience from start to finish. The team were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be visiting again when we’re next in Bath.

My partner and I have been curryholics for 40 years and eaten in what must be hundreds of Indian restaurants over the years (and 45 years living in East London). I can honestly say that Bandook is the very best we've ever had within walking distance of home. The menu is great, and I'm still trying different dishes after quite a few visits. Everything is superb. Their butter chicken is utterly sublime, with a totally fresh tomato flavour, melt-in-the-mouth chicken and a complete lack of the floating ghee usually found in standard curry houses. It actually tastes...healthy! The railway lamb is also beautiful, as is everything else we, and the guests we've brought here, have tried. It's a class act, and the pricing is very decent for the quality of the food. Hard to avoid the comparison with Dishoom, which over promises and under delivers. Bandook is the complete opposite. We've gotten to know Mo, the owner, who is an absolute diamond and knows how to do hospitality. Keep doing what you do and we'll be very faithful regulars!

Bandook in Bath is truly a hidden gem tucked away in a lively shopping center. Stepping into the restaurant, I was immediately charmed by the inviting decor and impressed by the quick and attentive service that made my dining experience a breeze. We started off with a delightful selection of Chilean and Argentinean red wines, poured generously and bursting with flavors that set the tone for the meal. The mince keema pav brought back memories of my mother's mince curry in South Africa, warming my heart with its delicious flavors. Moving on to the chaat, we enjoyed the explosion of tastes, although a touch of mint sauce could have elevated the dish by balancing the tamarind flavors. The Kerela chicken stood out with its crispy texture and intricate curry leaf spice mix, but I couldn't help but feel that a dipping sauce would have completed the dish perfectly. The Bombay prawns intrigued me with their tasty dry spice coating, yet I longed for a bit more moisture to enhance the overall mouthfeel. The combination of coconut and masala added a delightful sweet and spicy twist to the dish. However, the butter chicken and rice failed to impress with its overpowering tomato flavor and lack of the rich, buttery taste I had anticipated. It was a dish I would likely skip on my next visit. Despite some hits and misses, my overall experience at Bandook warrants a 3.5 rating. It's a restaurant worth exploring for its unique flavors and attentive service, offering a mixed but memorable dining experience that will leave you curious for more.

Excellent service, superb food, staff were so friendly and helpful even when we turned up 30 minutes late (I did ring them to let them know) kept the kitchen open for us highly recommended.

Recently visited and had an wonderful experience. Lamp curry was customised as we need and tasted yummy. We tried few of vegan options too, which are spot on as per Indian authentic cuisine. We are greeted by Mr Yuvaraj, he is so professional and pleasant, also helped us choose right combination for our lunch.

We really enjoyed our visit. There were four of us in total, one of which was in a wheelchair. They had an area reserved for us (we pre-booked) and getting to the restaurant was accessible via a lift. The food was outstanding and the staff were well dressed and so friendly. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bandook and was thoroughly impressed with the food. I ordered the paneer tikka masala, and it was absolutely delicious.

We visited Bandook for lunch and ordered a range of starters and small plates. Every plate was great, including excellent - although a small portion - Pani Puri. The staff were great too, smiling and engaging. After a trip to the theatre for a matinee performance, and several cocktails in the town, we were booked to go to another restaurant, but once we got there we both knew that we wanted to go back to Bandook. We didn’t have a booking but the manager and staff were brilliant and couldn’t do more to try to get us in. Even though it was a very busy evening it was nice that they recognised us from earlier in the day. Yet again, gorgeous food, more small plates, but also an incredible Butter Chicken. We’ll go back to Bath again, just to visit Bandook!

10 min wait at the door. Rude maitre'd. 2 items on the order lost not arriving. Long waits for everything. Miniscule portions. And to top it all off, the items that didn't arrive were put on the bill until we pointed out that they were never served. Save your money!

Bandook is my first non-fully vegan Indian restaurant that I’ve visited that’s brave enough to use tofu, soy chicken, mock lamb and vegan cream to preserve the authenticity of the dishes while being inclusive to vegans. I am so lucky to have Bandook close to my door, which has won the Best Restaurant in Bath for 2024 from Bath Life Awards, and to know I’m not missing out on amazing Indian dishes just because I’m vegan. Thank you! I know Bandook will be a prime example for not only Indian restaurants but many others in creating creative vegan dishes that are not only delicious but also authentic to their roots, allowing more people to experience the joy and warmth of eating traditional cuisines around the world.

Great warm restaurant decor fantastic, food well the taste was good for the two curry dishes but my dish not filling at all tandoori chicken with salad which was a pinch of shredded beetroot and carrot for my dish. Requested the onion salad as quoted on the menu and ok they got it but chunks 0f red onion, tomatoes and cucumber . All good salads taste better chopped finely, so not really enjoyable althou all fresh. Just not my style of indian food more cafe style which i have had in India. Suggest stick with various small dishes to get impact of flavours and and different dishes instead.

So many great options, would recommend getting many small plates to try a variety. The restaurant had some very busy seating areas however we sat in the room overlooking the courtyard and it was very pleasant. Very quick service and everything was delicious, we will be returning for sure!

Buzzy modern Indian with lovely mix of dishes. Support flavours and very helpful staff. There of us ate here on a busy Saturday night (we had booked). We had a good tour of the menu across the small bites, starters and some mains. Everything was very, very good. Already I look forward to returning!

You've got to try Bankdook in Bath for great tasting Indian food influenced by Mumbai’s street fayer. Each dish we ordered was delicious and authentically prepared. Went here with a few friends for an evening meal. I had the Butter chicken Curry and it was very delicious. I also had the Pani Puri starter which was very refreshing and something that was worth trying. Overall I had a great time and the food really was special would definitely come again!

We’re delighted with our visit to Bandook. The menu was different from other Indian restaurants we have dined in over the years. We were looked after well by Joanna the manager Iam assuming,a young woman and gentleman who waited tables. Food was fresh and very tasty enjoyed with a Couple of beers.

Visiting on a Sunday night without booking, on arrival we were asked to wait several minutes 'to see if there was a table free' when it was patently obvious that the restaurant was less than half full, making us wonder if we were not so welcome? Memories of John Cleese and Not the Nine OClock News playing the maitre d of an empty restaurant, saying there were no tables available. Heavy handed and not imaginatively spiced Gobi (fried cauliflower florets), good fried fish 'fingers', very nice aubergine and unremarkable Daal Makhani, flabby thin naan and OK rice all made for an unspectacular evening meal. We are used to many regional Indian cuisines, having lived there some time (Bengal and Rajasthan), so our remarks have nothing to do with a preference for old fashioned British Indian restaurant cookery.

Our waiter that night was Mansi and she was absolutely amazing - so friendly, kind and helpful to us!! When in Bath do come here as it is truly an experience!

I have previously been to the Mint Room in Bath and I have been looking forward to trying this place. Firstly it’s a great ambience We we’re very well looked after by the charming Malvi. She helped us to order our dishes with her knowledge of the menu. The food was great and I would highly recommend it. Will be back again!

Visited for the first time in Summer 2022 and didn't get to return until December 2023 but everything about Bandook was just as incredible the second time. The service is always brilliant and the interiors are beautiful. The food was some of the best we had during our trip and the cocktails & mocktails were delicious! We'll definitely be returning again when we're back in Bath.
