Outstanding food and service. The staff were brilliant and very knowledgeable when it came to helping my wife out with her gluten free requirements. The food was first class and served in a relaxed environment. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

Wow. Just wow. You walk in and it’s not like a regular restaurant, from the decor to the super friendly staff, you know you’re in for something special The food is incredible. Our party of four all had different preferences- one veggie, one gluten free, and a couple of serious meat eaters. Not one of us were disappointed by either the selection available or the quality of what we ordered. If you’re in Brighton and you want Indian Cuisine that’s 10/10, you have to visit Indian Summer.

Love from Canada! On a holiday in the UK, we visited Brighton for a couple of days and found Indian Summer during our walk towards the beach. I am so glad we walked in! Did not expect such an authentic experience!!!! Had the perfect date with my Husband. We ordered the grand thalis(meat and Vegetarian) and oh my, were they absolutely delicious!!! The curries- mama ji chicken, lamb, paneer, chickpeas, and eggplant, along with rice and tandoori roti- fulfilling, tasty, fresh! 5/5 would recommend.

A hot, savoury and flavourful meal is exactly what you need after spending a day in the cold/rain that loomed over us in Brighton for the entirety of our trip. Indian Summer provided just that, and more- an exceptional service, friendly staff and really really good food, which was hot and fresh. Me and my friends ordered the sharing starters(meat) which included Chicken Tikka, Tandoori Paneer, Sweet potato and onion bhaji and the samosa chaat! How do I make you believe that each and every one of these items was delectable! I could have ordered another. I also recommend the ‘Mama ji’ Chicken! No amount of Sun-less, cold weather can keep you down if you visit Indian Summer! Thank you.

I have eaten here numerous times. The most recent time I came was fora work set meal and Indian summers were just amazing. They really impressed me with their service and actually really good value with the amount of food! Will be back many times I am sure

The sharing menu was perfect for a large group of 20 and made things very straightforward. We were provided with a generous selection of food of which everyone enjoyed. This is Indian food at its best.

We visited on a mid-week evening. The food was excellent. We enjoyed a Prawn Thali, which was very tasty. The restaurant was fairly quiet but the service although friendly was a bit slow. Overall the meal was good value in a pleasant ambience.

It was the my first experience at this restaurant and it will not be my last. From the moment I walked in I felt welcomed, the restaurant had a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and a fantastic looking menu. The staff were very accommodating towards my dietary requirements (as a diagnosed coeliac), showing me exactly what was gluten free or could be adapted to be on their menu, which proved to be pretty much EVERYTHING. Their knowledge of ensuring the food was gluten-free was brilliant, being aware of cross-contamination, different utensils etc, this immediately made me feel reassured and relaxed which can be rare for a coeliac. Above all, the food was delicious the blend of flavours in each dish from starter to main were amazing; the care, passion and presentation from the chefs was evident in each dish, it was a real treat eating here.This restaurant proved to accommodate everyone, dietary requirement or not. If you are in Brighton make sure you book a table, it will not let you down! A really special restaurant. I haven’t been to too many fine dining Indian restaurants so I was intrigued to see whether the food would taste a whole lot different. Indian summer provided a few hits and a couple of misses. The food was definitely more refined in some cases such as the lamb shank which was tender and bursting with rich flavour. The South Indian style mussels were also a big favourite, with the slightly sourness in the sauce giving each mouthful a little wake up call. The grilled fish and chicken tikka were a little less wow and more mmm, but they were still tasty. The dhal and chicken curry were also great sauce dishes to dip the naan into, which was light and crispy without getting too doughy and heavy. Overall this was a really nice meal, perhaps not as bursting with flavour as I have found in some Indian restaurants, but they balance the flavours with a wider variety and more interesting combinations of dishes that I’ve seen before. Although the prices left me expecting a little more from the food, the service was great and the ambiance was as relaxing as an Indian summer should be.

Have always had excellent time here. Saturday night was poor despite the usual excellent food. Unacceptable waiting time to take drinks order, but worst of all a 35 minute wait for dessert. Brilliant but overworked waiting staff explained it was all due to an exceptionally large booking at the back end of restaurant. It is clear that either the kitchen or front of house ( or both) could not cope with such a large booking of 20+ together with the usual full restaurant. It was so disappointing as I had really built up the expectation of my guests about Indian Summer.

We tried here because of all the great reviews... it was amazing!!!. The waiters and waitresses were friendly, happy and very helpful in helping us choose our food and wine choices. I had the butter fish for my main, which I never would of chosen in an indian restaurant...... but it was truly amazing! Words can’t describe how good it was! The flavours and spices just jump out at you! so good!

I was expecting more from this restaurant having receiving great reviews from friends. For this reason booked for my partners birthday and discovered that this place was perhaps suited more for mass parties/groups large tables rather than romantic couples etc. Felt like being in a nightclub opposed to restaurant. Was seated near the entrance with people queuing for tables. Although the atmosphere wasn’t the best thankfully the food was good. Was it worth the money?? Dunno but overall an Ok meal. If you want something nice/memorable or special I would not recommend but if you want ok food then ok. All in all an ok place but value for money I’m just not sure

This restaurant is my absolute favourite in Brighton. I don’t get to go out too often but this place is always my first choice. My recent visit this weekend didn’t disappoint. I decided to go old school and opted for the Masala Dosa followed by the Thali, while my partner ate chicken lollipops followed by the lamb shank. My favourite thing about the food is that it tastes like real India. Every bite takes me back to a country filled with colour and spice. We washed it down with a delicious bottle of red. Perfect service, fun atmosphere, perfect evening.

I've been to this restaurant several times now and my friends and I have always had a wonderful evening here, receiving a warm welcome followed by great service, food and wine! I recently went with one of my friends (who went to india last year, where she fell in love with the food!) So she could have been a difficult customer to please but she was raving about the Veg Thai she had, she can't wait to go back! I will definitely be back too for the amazing vegan dishes! my favourites are the Onion Pakodas, Masala-Dosa, and the Bell-Puri

I recently visited with some friends and was really impressed. The restaurant itself is wonderful and has a great atmosphere. The waiters were friendly and incredibly helpful. The food itself was the best Indian food I’ve had in Brighton. The lamb shank was tender and marinated excellently, served on the most delicious sauce. Followed by a lovely chocolate mousse.

First up, the service was excellent and the decor was very much to my taste. The food however was only OK, by no means below average but we didn't find much that made us say WOw. The sauces with the poppadoms were very good, as was the complementary soup in a cup. We had the vegetarian and the meat thalis, which were 80% the same. My vegetarian was bland. The Dahl was think and gloopy. The biggest disappointment was probably the over warm bottle of red, which was surprisingly bland for a South African pinotage. I wish them well but wouldn't expect to go there again.

Went to Indian Summer in September when visiting my sister and had a fabulous meal. The best authentic Indian tasted in a long time and cannot wait to go back. The friendly service was very much appreciated and served in a professional manner. When requiring advice on some of the dishes it was given in a positive manner and oh boy were they delicious, best Lamb Shank and prawn dish in town. Definitely would recommend to anyone to go and experience an Indian Summer. After enquiring I was told they cater for large parties and for children which can only be another positive star!

I have been visiting Indian summer for the past 4/5 years. Food is amazing, authentic taste of Indian, nothing like this in UK. Service friendly and professional at the same time, the guys are always willing to help and ready to give you suggestions. I couldn’t recommend this place more. If I could I would give more than 5 stars to this precious gem. Can’t wait to be back again.

I haven’t visited Indian Summer for a little while, but went with my mother and a few friends yesterday. I remembered why I loved it so much... the service is so attentive and friendly, they explained everything on the menu and suggested what would be the vest wine to go with it. They also offered little appetisers and palate cleansers between courses, which were unexpected and delicious!

I've been a few times and it never fails to impress! The food is really beautiful, they have a really interesting and varied Southern indian menu, but most of all I love the vibe in there. We went a few weeks ago and although it's in the heart of the lanes, it feels like it's own little world. Very relaxed, super friendly staff and you're always made to feel so welcome. I'll be back!!!

I recently went here with my 4 year daughter and can't recommend it enough!The moment we walked through the door we were greeted and made to feel welcomed which you don't tend to get these days. The food was supberb and the highlight was when the head chef (Byron) came out to help my daughter chose who was struggling! Supberb place and right in the heart of Brighton.

Great food, good for all diets. I am vegan and have noticed they have added lots of new dishes to cater for all on their menu. Definitely worth getting a thali to get a taste of all the delights. Nice atmosphere and lovely staff.

A busy spot with friendly staff. I would advise booking at popular times (weekends). I had an excellent masala dosa with coconut and sambar accompaniments. Vegetarians are well catered for here. That said my Hyderabadi chicken main was succulent and richly spiced. Portions are large. My curry had both rice and rotis served with it. 40 quid (incl service) for a filling dinner with quality ingredients- fair enough

A fine dinning experience not to be missed. Excellent food, service and ambiance. The Thalis are exceptional. Can’t wait to return to try more from the menu selection.

So so so good!! I can’t begin to describe how amazing the service and food was! We had the Sharing menu, which gave us all the opportunity to try a little bit of everything!

£17.50 for the thali was quite an insult. It was fine and tasty enough but nothing special at all. Would not recommend on this basis.

We visited by chance, staff where great and found us a table on what was a very busy night. This could have been the problem as this place generally has good reviews. Unfortunately our food was not great, over cooked dried out chicken in one dish and the other being more of a tomato dish than an indian flavour. I think the staff where aware of a problem as they made a point of asking us how the mains where. Basically could not fault the service or venue but maybe the chef was having a bad day.

Came across this restaurant really by chance as it was late and we were looking for Indian food. We rang and they were really helpful in accommodating us before they closed. The service was superb, helpful and friendly. The menu was limited but the vegetarian thali was absolutely superb. Maybe slightly on the expensive side, but would definitely visit again superb.

Firstly service was exceptional and the staff extremely friendly, however I found the portion sizes inadequate and the food and drink overpriced. The food available for the children was far too spicy when none of the adults in the group found our food hardly spicy at all. I really wanted to like this restaurant, unfortunately I found myself making excuses and apologising for my choice of restaurant to my family.

We tried out this place much by chance. The menu is not extensive and could do with a couple of additions. Its certainly is not cheap, but the service was superb, and the food, hot, and really tasty. This is a place I would return to for a special occasion, or a night out with the other half. If I was with a bunch of blokes, after several beers in several pubs, I would go somewhere else.

We came here without a reservation last night and we both agreed it was one of the best meals we’ve ever had!

I ate a wonderful chicken meal, it was perfect. Delicious taste, not too spicy and in good quantity. I really recommend it. Thé atmosphere is really nice even if it’s maybe a little bit too noisy but it’s because it’s a really good restaurant to go to and the staff is more than nice.

Went today with my mum & sister and we had the thali for lunch. As Indians, we were sceptical of how authentic the food would be, but we were pleasantly surprised at the deliciousness of what we ordered!

Lovely modern restaurant in great central location.

We booked at a table at the recommendation of a local barber, and everything was incredible! We had the popadums as an appetiser, a starter each (mussels and the massala dosa) and then mains (the vegetarian thali and paneer tandoori). Honestly, it was too much food for me but we got to take the leftovers home and I can't wait to have them for lunch! We got wne recommendations and even got to try a couple of different ones before deciding on a bottle (the Primitivo - it was great!). The service was professional but friendly, the food was incredibly tasty and the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming. Couldn't recommend enough, will definitely return when we come visit Brighton again! Can't believe this place isn't higher up the list on TripAdvisor.

If you want "Indian" food in Brighton (I use the inverted commas as I'm no expert in the cuisine), then Indian Summer is my first recommendation. I've been here a number of times over the years and have seen the menu change and evolve, but the retaurant has always maintained high standards.

Staff were very attentive and clarified everything in the menu. Kids menu was great. Menu's choices were limited but food was nice and tasty. We were surprised to see a service charged included in the bill of more than 10%. We didn't expect it so thought it was pricey.

We found this place just on google, took a chance and was very glad we did! Excellent food, very authentic, served as individual dishes. All very tasty, good portion sizes and prices.

Excellent Indian restaurant in the centre of town. Food is great, very different to most regular places. Every dish was spot on, great spicing, not just chilli hot. Service too was very good, no complaints or issues from any of the 10 people around the table.

Came here 4 people, shared 3 courses with sides and loved every course. My boyfriend Valur loves india and left the place with a happy indian belly. The service was as good as it gets!

I went with a party of 10 and they could not have been more amenable and friendly. One of us couldn’t eat chilli and even that didn’t phase the chefs. I had paneer shashlik and it was DELICIOUS!!! There was a great choice as a veggie and I noticed for vegans too. My husband is gluten free and anything on the menu can be made gluten free which is amazing. The rest of the party were very pleased with their thalis, water buffalo and butter fish (amongst other things). The Sauvignon ordered was fabulous and our sharing dessert was sublime - you must try the mango brûlée! We will be back for the jazz on Sunday!

Went here for our anniversary meal and my partner and I aren’t the easiest to feed. I’m gluten intolerant and he is vegetarian, but this was no problem for them and they were very informative. Food was delicious, traditional but with some some influences from other countries. We had popadoms to start, then I had red mullet and water buffalo. And my partner had paneer and veggie thali. All delicious. The only reason I said close to perfection is that a door bell rings every time food is ready which is obviously frequent and distracting. Other than that it was great.

This is the second time we have visited this more contempory authentic Indian restaurant. Our first visit was some years ago as meat eaters and we were impressed with our meals and overall visit.

It’s ok, modern. Won’t get ur chicken madras etc. Which is what I love. I guess it’s ok but not to my liking as a limited menu and no standard favourites on there, not for me and won’t be back. A bit pricey too at £18.50 for a main dish and no largers on tap only expensive bottles!!

It must be a few years since I'd last been here and certainly the menu has changed a bit in the meantime. The lunchtime menu looked really interesting and the choice of dishes looked great and sounded very authentic.

Quite limited but interesting menu, would go again and recommend. Excellent service. At first look it seems expensive until you realie that the main dish comes with sides, chutneys, bread etc - on the downside this restricts choice somewhat.
