Indian Spice in Wakefield

I cannot believe that this place gets any good reviews especially when it comes to the dishes. Ordered 4 different curries all looked the same red glupe no herbs very bland I certainly will never purchase a curry from this place again £45 waste of money.

The food is excellent and the staff are friendly. 5 stars simple has that. We had chicken pathia garlic naan pilau rice and spiced poppadoms it was all perfect.

Fantastic place . One of the best Indian takeaways I’ve been to . And I’ve tried hundreds of Indian takeaways over the years . I eat curries twice a week . And Indian spice stands out from the rest . Food is fresh and authentic. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Never once have I had a bad curry. This isn’t a hit and miss takeaway this place is spot on every time. We have previously had great meals from Indian spice. This was below par. Firstly, it took nearly two hours to arrive. A call to the take away and it was prepared but they had no delivery driver. So it arrived luke warm,fries clap cold. The only saving grace was the food, it was ok, big pieces of chicken and tasty, though very saucy. I found the naan very sweet, my partner enjoyed it. Unfortunately we won't be returning anytime soon.

All the food is generally very nice but my current favourite dish is chicken biriyani. The staff are always very polite and attentive.

Rang to ask about the missing items in my order to be basically told I was lying and hung up .. first time of ordering here as we had been recommended by a friend worst Indian I’ve ever had!!! Cold and bland!! My chicken tikka main just tasted burnt … since when does mushroom Bhaji have a tomato base… like the last review said what on earth are you Ossett/horbury people tasting!!! Will never order again my kids chicken hut tasted far better!!!

When you order from somewhere called Indian Spice, you expect authentic Indian with a bit of spice. I ordered a Chicken Tikka Masala and a Rogan Josh. Both tasted like Tomato soup with giant cubes of chicken. Bland, zero flavour. No onions it was just soup and chicken. Abismal. Really annoyed. How on earth do the Indian Takaways in this area keep getting good reviews. It’s not just this one by the way they’re all the same. Honestly I have no idea what is wrong with the people cooking them, and even worse the people eating them and saying they’re good. What is wrong with you people honestly!!!! People of Horbury, Wakefield! Wake up! You deserve better!

I ordered from you tonight and the food was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. Arrived piping hot and the delivery driver was very pleasant and polite. Highly recommended 5 stars

Good food staff are a bit rude if you have a problem with just eat app

Only been a customer since around Dec 20 but we've tried many different dishes and we have never been disappointed with the taste or apparent quality of the food. Every order we've placed has always been correct and the prices are reasonable. We always collect so I can't comment on the delivery service.

Easy to order, fast delivery service, food was so amazing and no grease at all. The price was very resonable and the portions were quite large. We had a great birthday takeaway will definately order from here again.

Love this place, been ordering for years. You can tell they really care about the quality of their food, it always tastes lovely and fresh, and unlike other takeaways, it's consistently good. Only ever had one problem where they forgot the rice, but even then, they rectified it within 15 minutes and gave us some free poppodoms all while apologising. I'd recommend to anyone.

Thee best indian takeaway around .... it could see off most restaurants for its authenticity, lovely friendly people great food just wish they did lamb but hey ho the beef dishes are good 👌

Me mam use to order three times a week until the wanted to charge 50p for coriander when the main herb in Indian cooking is coriander. What a waste of takeaway

Moved to the area and struggled to find a good curry until we tried Indian Spice. Very good quality and good value.

We have used Indian spice ever since the day they opened and they have got worse and worse, their customer service was never great, pretty damn rude tbh but has got more shocking over the years, waiting times on delivery is the worst it’s ever been, we waited 2 hours tonight and when we rang we got told “were busy you’ll have to wait” even when said we wanted a refund no apology.. nothing apart from “yeah whatever” then hung up on us... and delivery driver just said not my fault and ran off .. we keep going back but not any more.. rudeness and stupid waiting times and constantly cold food overtake loyalty.. rather pay an extra fiver to ossett spice for great customer service and better food that’s actually hot

Tried this place because a friend gave me a voucher to the value of £8.00 off the total food bill which i just had to use.Ordering was easy and pleasant,the staff were really helpful and the food was great.Ordered the chicken vindaloo for myself and chicken bhuna for my partner plus various starters and it tasted great.I think we will visit again in the future.

Highly recommend Indian Spice. The food is delicious and wholesome, not greasy or fatty as many Local Indian meals tend to be. The ingredients are fresh and service is good. Great value for money too. We won’t be looking for another take away now we’ve found this.

For the past 5 yrs or so we have regularly sent an order in from work on a Saturday night spending on average over £100 at least twice a month. The delivery has always been very timely and the food at an acceptable standard. However the last few orders we have been deliverd have been missing items, ie Naan bread or Chappaties which are free with a Balti curry. We have complained a few times but never been given as much as a sincere apology or a free popadom as a goodwill gesture. This Saturday we again had a delivery but only to the ammount of £80.00. We advised them on ordering that we had been given a £8.00 voucher on a take away costing over £25.00. Three people read the terms and conditions very carefully to ensure eligibility. When the order arrived they refused to accept the voucher stating that it did not include delivery....nowhere on the voucher was this noted , so we questioned the decision , only to be told that they were aware it was missleading as it did not actually state it on 5he voucher!. Having paid the delivery driver the full ammount, ...otherwise there would of been 8 very hungry people on duty all night!! we called the take away and were told that there was no manager present and if we didnt like it we shouldnt bother using them again. I find it so difficult to understand how a small take away can treat loyal customers in such a way and be able to lose anything betewwn £200 and £500 per month. I nor my collegues will ever use these untrustworthy individuals ever again.

The Best ever chicken rogan josh I’ve ever tasted , the place is spotless , the staff are really pleasant and friendly. The onion Bhajis are to die for, the roti ,chapattis and pilau are really good quality . I would certainly recommend without a doubt , also the price is unbelievable and the best I’ve experienced , 20% off if you collect your order. I will definitely return again and again.

We have had many take out indian meals from Indian Spice, & many an indian over the years from various places, But this has to be my favourite by far! Taste is always fantastic, Quality is always fantastic, the meat and flavours always spot on. The staff are very friendly and always approachable. Delivery is always quick but the best part, You get a whopping 20% off just for picking it up! Cheap & Cheerful. Never been disappointed yet. I wouldnt honestly go anywhere else for my indian takeaway other than this perfect little indian takeaway in Horbury. Please try it out you wont be disappointed. Perfect every time.

Friendly staff and really reasonable prices. Food always tastes really fresh and the staff there have personally made sure my Wifes meals do not include any ingredients that she has an allergy to.

Food is great, good vegetarian choice and friendly staff in the shop. Found the delivery driver unfriendly many times however which is why we choose to order elsewhere now. All staff represent the buisness and it makes a big difference when there's so much competition between really good Indian takeaways in the area.
