Avoid! Ordered on Uber eats, took ages for delivery and when the food came, the portion size wouldn't have satisfied a baby!

Well was looking forward to nice lamb curry what I got I can't explain what meat it was won't order again absolutely disgusting if I got bad stomach tomorrow lucky I just had sauce but meat was vile

Just walked past to see an old friend. Decided to stay for food. Was absolutely amazing. The owner went above and beyond to cook for us. Would highly recommend the food here.

Thought I would leave a review because I was dubious about ordering from here due to the reviews but after moving to Ossett 2 years ago and struggling to find a nice curry, I think the Chicken Tikka garlic Balti I had tonight was probably up there with the best. Would have been 5 star but I thought the naan bread was strange however would deffo order again 👍🏼

A strange very basic dining experience with excellent food. When we entered the restaurant it was literally empty so we were the only ones in it. It was without atmosphere and clearly the decor was very tired. In fact the walls can only be described as “grubby”. The menus are basic pieces of laminated paper and some of the paperwork still referred to the previous restaurant “Star of India” The staff consisted of just 2 young women who appeared to be doing everything, from the order taking, the cooking and serving. If the restaurant ever gets busy they will struggle to cope The food could not be faulted, it genuinley was like eating home cooked Indian food, and all at a very reasonable price. In short, this restaurant has changed hands but it is not yet ready to claim itself as a new restaurant. It needs a good refurbishment, more staff, more attention to detail and then it would be well worth a visit. Not yet somewhere to go if you want a relaxing meal, however, if you purely just want good food this would be a good choice

Went there for the first time and wasn't disappointed. Apparently it's only been reopened for a few days by totally new people. The service was a bit chaotic but I'm sure they'll settle in. But they were very keen and conscientious, eager to please. I started with onion bhaji, followed by lamb jalfrezi. The main was very well prepared and tasty. I only gave 4 stars because I found the bhaji to have too much batter and not enough onion. However, the manager was very grateful for me pointing this out to him and he obviously took note. The decor is a let-down if you're looking for luxurious surroundings but, given the cheapness, I can live with that. I will certainly be back and I hope they do well. It's BYO, by the way, but they sell soft drinks.

We had travelled to Ossett to meet up with friends for a few drinks and a curry, we were not disappointed, it is bring your own drinks so we stopped at the local b&m for drinks then arrived, staff were friendly, food more importantly was delicious, very reasonably priced, would definitely recommend, I was enjoying myself that much I forgot to take photos 📸

First time using this place after a family member recommended it ordered two curries with chips and pilau rice , went to collect, on the menu it states 10% off for collection over £10 but got no discount. We both have bad stomachs this morning, never going back there, no wonder it was empty

Been a few times before but last night's meal was a major dissapointment...lamb rogan dident even taste like curry...asked for Bombay potatoes to be extra hot...and they tasted of nothing...😲 Won't be back while food is like this!

Me and my friends come here regularly. service always great and we have never had a bad meal! The food is always cooked to perfection and served hot. Will always return 👍

Nice clean and tidy restaurant but a bit crowded. Staff are very friendly and service was good. Menu limited, no puddings and only standard tea and coffee. Food was very average if not slightly below. I had heard such good reports and was therefore disappointed.

Ordered curry, it came 1hr 10 mins later all cold! Glowing red karhai!! spoke to restaurant and guy in charge wasn’t interested, told me it was meant to be made with red masala sauce ! Rubbish don’t bother.

Average at best. Nothing special but nothing bad either.

Excellent meal. the special banquet was delicious. welll worth the visit. we will be back soon.

We’ve ordered from here on a number of occasions and have always had an enjoyable meal. However on this occasion the meal was disappointing. Overcooked, dry chicken, and tough prawns. Curry base extremely salty and oniony. Not sure if something has changed their but will think twice before ordering again. Shame.

I've not eaten in here since it was renamed but did eat at the previous Star of India. I've had several take aways tho and each time they have been delicious and delivered on time. I eat from here most weeks

9 of us Christmas day, excellent service and the food was amazing anything off menu and free dessert. Thanks for a really good day. Definitely be back

Called in yesterday for tray of chips and curry sauce to be told I had to have a curry of choice as don't just do sauce. So I chose a balti The balti is on the photo !!! That was the full portion nothing eaten, i actually didn't eat it ! The curry was nothing more than coloured water. Very tasteless and watery. The onion bhaji I ordered was nice and crispy but the overall meal was a joke. 15 pounds for bhaji, chips and half a portion of coloured water!!!!! Very poor

Friendly atmosphere and tasty food

1st time visit after it changed hands / name. Nice decor and staff welcoming. (only soft drinks sold). Food very tasty and priced reasonably. Food was not as hot (temp) as it could have been and this could be helped if table food warmers were used. despite this all in all a nice experience and we shall rtn.

A vast improvement from Star of India

Came here with friends on a recommendation from other friends that their visit was outstanding. My opinion was different unfortunately. Came on the deal of poppadoms, pickle tray, starter, main, side and sundry for £11.95 which was great value for money. The dining experience wasn’t that much kop to be honest, my chicken pakora starter was delicious but my chicken Balti main course was disappointing as it was quite mushy and did not have much oil or sauce which makes a great curry in my eyes so that was a big let down, had better microwave curries than this and more importantly for me that the waiters weren’t really that friendly at all, hardly smiled, didn’t make much conversation and you could tell they just looked like they didn’t want us there. Overall it was great value for money but that was it, wouldn’t return in a hurry at all, average at best

Lovely restaurant and charming staff. We had a vegetable platter with the best onion bhagee (which I can't spell) mushroom pakora which was delicious. A vegetable samosa and a potato croquet with salad. The chicken Tikka masala was too sweet for my taste but the Lamb Sishlak? Was really gorgeous. Wonderful place

It was nicely decorated and the guy serving us was very good. Food was typical South Asian and ok. Clean table cover and cutlery.

We were looking forward to the relaunch of this restaurant. The Starter was excellent! Thought we were in for a treat with the Curries but unfortunately they were very disappointing. The Takeaway arrived bang on time and was piping hot.

Only just found out this place had opened in what used to be the Star of India (which I used for about 15 years). Thought I'd give it a try - we ordered 3 main dishes, all of which were absolutely delicious, and ready bang on time. I will definitely be going again, and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.
