Food was okay. We went on a Monday evening, so was bound to be quiet. Grub was okay. Had the mixed grill, I've had better and I've had worse. Middle of the road.

The food has not yet arrived, despite the tracker saying it has been delivered. We ordered at 7pm, and at current we have been waiting for 2 hours and counting. This is not good enough, especially given your driver has logged the food as delivered.

Food arrived early which was fine as we don’t live too far away. We had Chicken Passanda, Bombay Aloo and Naan. It was piping hot and very tasty and portions were very generous. Would certainly order again.

I am ashamed to say that I have ordered many a takeaway from this place, and I am based in Letchworth. Having ordered from quire a few places, I find Indian Hitchin to be the best. The food just tastes better and has that extra 'umph'.

Friendly staff and good food, collection order was ready on time. The food tasted good without having a layer of Gee on the top, making it a lot nicer to eat!

The food was out for delivery for too long and was like warm when ir arrived. The chutney portions were miserly, the starter (mixed kebab in sauce) was 4 bits of meat and a sheek kebab (tasted shop bought) in a generic tomato and onion based sauce. Incipid. The lady naga chicken had 6 small ish bits of chicken in and was some horribly onion tomato generic sauce. It was barely hot (and needed microwaving), if you say naga or should be fiery hot. The naan tasted frozen. Went in the bin.

This is the best Indian in hitchin. The chef’s specials are incredible.

Great food as always, both in taste and presentation. This is the only Indian restaurant we ever recommend nowadays. Not the cheapest, but deffinetly worth paying the extra.

Having met and chatted with staff and owners recently and loving the vibe in the daytime here I took three guests in for dinner on Saturday booked on line. It was not busy inside as this is mainly a takeaway/delivery place at the moment but that was nice for us. We had the most delicious food and were served by lovely helpful staff. Two of our party were vegan and were well catered for. Have recommended and two friends booked again yesterday evening and were also pleased.

1hr 20min for a home delivery on Tuesday night is absolutely outrageous... I had called the restaurant twice during this time, and got nothing but excuses...

We had such a delicious meal here, would highly recommend it! I think the portions are generous for the price you pay, too. A highlight was really how kind and friendly the staff are, it makes such a difference. Will definitely go back!

the naan was brown bread not white , the person eating it prefers white naan . otherwise delicious

The chef had a bad day today. Food was inedible, the onion bahji's burnt,the lemon in the salad looked like it had sucked the life out of itself so didn't bother with that. The bread was good and thank you for the free poppadoms.

Popped in for coffee and some lunch and it was amazing! Really lovely interiors and the friendliest staff 🌟 Had the shakshuka with paratha and it was delicious. So lovely to have nice coffee so local 😄

spent 40 quid and no sauces, no salad or onions which is pretty normal to get, asked for my naan bread to be well done and quarted, instead it wasnt.

Some of the food was cooked ok, but the vegetables kurma had uncooked vegetables in it, with a weird choice of vegetables also. Also paying £1 for a single popadum is very unreasonable, especially considering that most places charge £1 - £2 for a pack of popadums. I feel this could be better, but the delivery was very quick.

Tasted like watered down jarred-curry. Absolutely awful paying £40 for Indian that I could make 10x better at home. Only thing I enjoyed was the Roti.

This Indian was the best we have had EVER! Food was hot, each dish incredible and just seemed to be another level. We have used this take out before but yesterday is was particularly DELICIOUS!!

Tikka masala is abnormally red in colour but rest was definitely better than average

Distinctly average. Not terrible, not great, just bang in the middle of the road. Curries were edible but lacked depth. Chicken was tender, lamb was on the tough side. I doubt we’ll be back.

Amazing food and customer service! I called asking what salmon curries are available without coriander and they offered to make any curry I want without any coriander. Very quick and very nice food! Reliable, friendly, consistent. Sounds simple, but it’s not that common. Keep it up!

I've spent 11 years living between Shadwell and Forest Gate. When it comes to curry, I've been spoiled and hard it's to please. From Tayyabs, Lahore Kabab House, KO Grill, Vijay's Chawalla, the high level of the East End has become what I expect. Indian Hitchin is gem. I'm pleased that has arrived in Hitchin my absence. Great food, service and value. Another enjoyable meal tonight. Keep up the good work and thank you!

The Biryani was very hot and the chicken was not Tikki within the dish

The food was late, but the issue is that the website automatically updated to "Enjoy your food" BEFORE the driver delivered the food, as soon as the delivery estimated time was reached. They were confused, because they did not indicate this, the process is automatic. This is a strategy for them to avoid being liable for late deliveries. Very sneaky! Either the restaurant or just eat! Deceitful, but not surprising from such a company

100% avoid this place. It's eerily quiet for a reason. We got the lamb and chicken curry both lacked any flavour and it was tough. I'm pretty sure they just use a canned sauce rather than cook it from fresh. It was just some meat in a watery sauce. Disappointing to say the least.

Lads train cancelled so he was stuck in Stevenage so drove from Cambridge to pick him up, called to see if there was a table told no problem.. when we arrived restaurant was so quite which did worry me but really should not of been worried!! Absolutely beautiful food made to feel really welcome and staff were spot on chatty ,accommodating and helpful , such a shame it’s 50 miles away otherwise would be my go to Indian!! WELL DONE

The only Indian restaurant I could find in Hitchin that currently a level 5 hygiene rating, so that tells you all you need to know really.

Perfect, again. I tried a different takeaway in Hitchin last month due to it being mentioned in the local paper for a potential award. To be honest, Indian Hitchin trumped it HIGHLY. Delicious again, arrived hot, even the popadom condiments were delicious and highly fresh. Yeah, it's Indian Hitchin for me now on - they have reassured my opion of them being the best curry in the surrounding towns.

Quick delivery, excellent food, arrived hot, good portions…. What more could you ask for?

Booked my graduation party here and had a fantastic time with my family :) Lovely decor, warm atmosphere, fast service and amazing food, what more can you ask for!

Chicken samosas were chewy, the lamb laziz was bland, the rice was dry and clumpy, and the chicken dansak tasted like no other dansak I've ever had. Everything was edible but for what we paid we expected a lot better. Expensive and mediocre.

The tarka dhal was avoid of any flavour other than burnt garlic. Something tasted off with the rest of the food as well. First and last time I’ll be ordering from here unfortunately. Super disappointed :(

Love this place and itnusually hits the spot, however the curry i had tonight said it was meant to be spicey but i tadted none at all.

Very disappointed in the food from here. It was flavourless and watery. Naan bread was raw and had a strange flavour. Kids meal was cheap frozen fish fingers. If it didn't take an hour to arrive and the kids been hungry, would have sent it back. Honestly the worst indian food I've ever had. On a side note, the delivery driver was lovely!

Chef was held up in traffic - so these things happen - but meal was worth the wait.

Really delicious food. Hot and not oily like so many. Our only criticism is that the chutneys are in very small pots. A bit stingy for the price.

As always, superb meal. Best curry in the area imo. It costs slightly above average but you get excellent food. One thing I don’t agree with however is naan breads all being the same price. Plain naan should be at least 50p cheaper.

The food was meh at best, ordered chicken tika, and it was nearly 10 quid for a little container . The cheese cake was frozen solid. Would not recommend.
