One of the nicest curry takeaways I’ve ever had. A great find for a delivery to our holiday home after visiting the local pub and it being fully booked for their weekly curry night. Each curry tasted different and very fresh. The chicken pieces were huge, succulently cooked pieces of breast meat. The naan bread was tasty and the complimentary poppadoms were well received. You can really taste the different herbs and spices used for each dish. No greasiness, just flavoursome. Make any night a curry night at home instead by eating from here. I’d highly recommend.

I have no complaints about the chicken tikka main meal I had. There was plenty of it and it was very tasty. However the menu said it was accompanied by salad.....this was less than a palm full of lettuce, one quarter of a tomato and one quarter of a lemon. This is not a salad.

I must say that the food and service was absolutely fantastic. Prawn curry was full of big prawns, the sheek kebabs were cooked to perfection and the rice and Bombay potatoes just complimented a really lovely meal.. I’ll definitely use this restaurant again soon and recommend my colleagues also come here for a delivery. Top class and thanks to them.

The butter chicken curry sauce was less sweet than the garmeen. The Korma was lovely. The pilau rice was really nice and the garlic naan was lovely. The poppadoms were really nice and crispy and the Mango chutney was really nice and the lime pickle was really horrible.

Had a takeaway delivered whilst on a winter break in Porthleven, ordered online, quoted 1 hour for delivery on the website and it came in 1 hour almost to the minute, the food was delicious, generous sized portions and it was piping hot, the delivery driver was really friendly as well, I wish we’d tried this place at the start of the holiday and not the end as we’d have visited for an eat in meal, will definitely be having food from here next time we’re in the area

Sadly I cannot visit as often as I'd like, but when I do, I always have great food. The owners and staff always try their best to please and are happy to explain different dishes. The pricing is very competitive and they encourage you to "Bring your own" beer or wine (not soft drinks - fair enough). I have always found the food to be consistently good, tasty and well prepared. This is my go to place for a spicy food fix. Can't wait for my next visit.

Lovely meal delivered on time. Ordered a home delivery for the first time. We were hoping to visit the restaurant as it was my birthday. However it was pouring with rain and our puppy was poorly. We were not disappointed It was so lovely, really hot and tasty so we relaxed with a bottle of wine. Will do again asap.

We have ordered from here a few times and always enjoyed it. Tonight our takeaway was disappointing to say the least (and I never leave bad reviews). The food was cold, the naan was burnt and there were 6 tiny pieces of chicken in our tikka which my husband and I always share the dish and never have an issue with the amount usually. The tikka also didn’t taste like tikka at all. I understand it’s NYE and you’re probably busy but this doesn’t mean your standards should drop… having 3 toddlers and therefore spending our evening at home, we thought we’d have a takeaway to celebrate the new year. Really disappointed.

I ordered for a collection. Very polite telephone manner. Less than half an hr to wait. Food hot and tasted superb. Just what you want after a hard day and dint want to cook.

Visited with my father in law for evening curry. We were the only ones in restaurant. Staff polite and attentive but place lacked atmosphere. Didn’t do a Buna so settled for ‘Kawa’ which was …. OK. Beware of the take away service. The driver had orders for 4 addresses at all points of the compass which would have taken at least an hour to deliver. Discovered afterwards India was rated as zero (yes zero) for hygiene by food standards agency in August 2021. Can’t understand why the place hasn’t been closed down! Avoid!!!!

We collected up a take out while we were on holiday here, staying at nearby Praa Sands. The food was ready on time & was piping hot when we collected. It was still hot up on reaching our holiday lodge. Food was all correct & we throughly enjoyed it. The restaurant only accepts cash but there is a atm just across the road.

Excellent food, small restaurant, BYOB, what's not to like. Again, I pigged out on a Phall hot curry AND a tandoori chicken shashlick, laid off the rice and nan bread this time though, so plenty of room. My wife had a vegan Naga, and with two bottles of our own wine in tow, we waddled off home happily.

Curry bland and very salty slow service ,had better from the supermarket . Also 10% service charge we are in England not the USA If I want to tip for food and service I will based it on what I receive not just added to the end bill Never again

This is nowhere close to Indian food. The curry's were more sweet and seemed to be in the same gravy, with a very very slight change. I requested for chicken tikka masala to be hot, but it was still sweet. Honestly the currys were so sweet, I did not need any dessert Clearly the owners need to visit some very good (and not expensive) restaurants around the UK to eat good Indian food I am from Indian background, so eat this food all the time Don't bother

Went tonight as it had a lot of good build up from locals. Booked yesterday to be sure of a table, got there and was told we had no reservation, but on checking he said , oh yes I remember it now. After a bit of pushing tables and chairs all over the place, we sat down…oh you can’t sit there, I’m disabled and explained it to him, but he wouldn’t listen, so I sat down anyway. We don’t serve alcohol……ok I’ll have a coffee and 6 minerals…..we don’t do coffee….ok…..anyway ordered the food it was bang average at best. Tiny portions of rice and tough as old boots lamb ( mutton for sure ) . The bill came and they put a £12 service charge on it……😂😂😂. Optional of course. Avoid at all costs……

What an amazing find! Ordered for delivery which took a little longer than expected by absolutely worth the wait. The Naga Chilli chicken was possibly the best I’ve ever had, chicken chat and Bombay potatoes were really well cooked and delicious.Absolutely fantastic and will definitely order again.

Had an awful experience here. Telephoned and placed an order and then drove the 8 miles to get there. On collection we asked the man who served us if all our order was present, they assured us that it was. On getting back home, we only had 4 lots of rice in our back and our little side orders. All our 4 curry’s were missing. We phoned them back and had real trouble getting them to believe we had items missing. It was only when they saw the second bag containing our food that they said it was there. We travelled all the way back to then be told that “the chef was too busy to serve us,” so they gave us our money back. Terrible service. Do not waste your time.

Fantastic takeaway, had food delivered for the first time, best I’ve ever had , Garlic Chilli Balti Lamb , Garlic Rice, Keema Naan all great couldn’t fault anything, also great value .

Takeaway for 6 people. Bang average really, despite ordering 6 completely different dishes varying in spice, they all tasted pretty much the same. Naan breads were decent, however. We’d consider ourselves quite seasoned when it comes to Asian food but none of us were blown away. Wouldn’t visit again unless we were stuck for options.Oh and if you are expecting a delivery outside a 3m radius-forget it, take way or dine in is your only option.

Probably the best Indian meal we’ve had in ages. My Chicken Jalfrezi was superb and my wife thoroughly enjoyed her chicken tikka. Arrived on time and only £1.50 delivery. Would definitely recommend.

Good Indian if you are holidaying in the area. Curry’s are a bit runny but very tasty. The rice is really very good I’ve never thought much of rice but the rice here is really good. Decent enough value for a takeaway and nice friendly staff

I love indian food especially Their Chicken Pasanda and Coconut Rice and Peshwari Naan Bread. I ordered it at before opening time thats at 17:30pm and it said it would b ready for 18:27pm but came earlier and just wanna say thank u to them in the restaurant. 10/10

Ordered our food at 6pm and was told it would be ready at 6:45, On arrival I then had to wait until 8:15 until it was ready. No one continually at the front of house.There wasn't much of an apology for the delay and then our order wasn't right.Food was ok though.

Waiting over an hour and a half for our SMALL order... disgusting behaviour wouldn’t even give us times. Very unprofessional wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Food was excellent in fairness however, disappointed that they serve no alcohol and do not accept card payments... No covid precautions evident and the staff were often found playing games on their phones!

Indian Food at its Best. A great restaurant with friendly helpful staff, COVID secure with care being taken for social distancing for all customers. The menu had a range of food that suited all tastes and the food was of an excellent quality. Recommend this if you like good Indian food

Had a takeaway from here. Collected and was no problem, food still hot although they only take cash which meant a trip to the bank. Curry was nice but not a taste sensation. The naans, aloo and rice were tasty. Overall good value for money.

Phoned to see if they had availability for a sit in meal and they immediately fitted us in. We were greeted with pleasantries and efficient service. Amazing food, all fresh ingredients and no wilting salad! Accommodating to our two young daughters and engaged in conversation. A really pleasant evening.

Rang and ordered at 5.30 told 45 minutes. Rang again at 6.45, told the delivery driver wasn't there? I don't know if my food has just been sitting on the side all this time! Its now 7.10 and he's just shown up. Not impress at all, luke warm food

We live locally and visited the India restaurant for the first time. The staff were really friendly and service very good. The restaurant was very clean and clearly those who work there take great pride in their food. It was tasty, fresh and full of flavour.

We have visited this little restaurant quite a few times and had lots of takeaways from here too. Both myself and my partner have recently moved to a vegan diet and we have found the staff here to be extremely accommodating and helpful in suggesting a number of vegan alternatives to their regular menu, even, on occasion, going to check with the chef to see if a certain dish can be veganised. They are always very friendly and welcoming and do everything they can to make dining here a pleasure. Having tried many dishes from their regular menu and more recently the vegan versions of these dishes, I can honestly say that neither disappoint. The food has always been delicious, perfectly cooked and extremely tasty. The other great thing about this place is that if you wish to, you can bring along a bottle of your favourite alcoholic beverage, so no extortionate bar bill's here either. A little indian gem in Helston.

My wife and I live locally and eat here 3 or 4 times a month and have done for the last few years. We have always found the food excellent and very reasonably priced. The service has always been friendly and courteous. We often take friends and family with us when they visit.We thoroughly recommend this restaurant!

We went to India with a group of friends. I ordered a chilli chicken curry dish. They brought my meal out and I could see the chicken so began eating. It wasn’t until I picked up the second piece of chicken I saw the prawns. I am allergic to prawns. I pointed this out. They offered me another dish. It was too late I was already feeling ill. What made it worse the staff thought it was funny. This was Saturday eve. It’s now Monday eve and I am still being very sick. I feel awful. If you have a shell fish allergy stay well away from here!!

This was the blandest, sweetest, not fully defrosted rubbish I've ever paid money for. Would recommend a jar from sainsburys instead and do it yourself.

Absolutely disgusting. Can confidently say that I just partially consumed the worst Indian I've ever had in the UK. Perhaps being a vegan I should expect a lesser delight of the taste buds, but the tarka Dahl, mushroom baji and saag bahji were the blandest, sloppirst and most disappointing Indian dishes I've ever eaten.

Went with a group of 6, the food was outstanding with excellent non pushy service. The Lamb sag tawa was amazing, never tasted anything like it, my friends were also very complimentary, and the price was very reasonable. Highly recommended

We had a prawn Rogan josh, chicken vindaloo, onion bajhis and naan breads, delivered to our house. All of it was warm and great tasting. Good sizes and quality. Said was going to come in 45 minutes and cam in 25

Booked last minute. Service was amazing. Food utterly delicious. I had the Chicken Tawa. Couldn't fault it and ate the lot - unheard of for me in an Indian restaurant but the flavours were so good, Best Indian food in Cornwall and I've eaten in all the most highly rated! I'll be back asap. Don't forget to take your own drinks if you want something alcoholic.

Sometimes it is a lot cheaper to get a take away but then you run the risk of the order being incorrect, which has happened severals times for us.

We ordered for delivery to our holiday house in Porthleven last night. I have to say the food was fantastic we ordered 5 different main courses and all were delicious. We will definitely order again on our next Porthleven holiday. Highly recommended.

I personally thought the curry was quite expensive for a takeout, and the portion sizes weren't the biggest, but it was still tasty.

Used for a take away to be delivered to holiday house in Porthleven. Food was good , delivery on time and free within 3 miles.

Delivered a very large order to us out in the middle of nowhere of nowhere - bang on time and piping hot, delivered with a smile. All our curries were great, rich and flavoursome with quality meat, as were the breads. We asked for several to be extra spicy, and they were nice and hot which makes a change from many curry houses.

This is our local Indian restaurant, one of two. Without a doubt, it is a joy to eat here. Whether you have a takeaway or sit down meal, the staff are always attentive and nothing is too much trouble. I thought that I may have been a little biased but reading the other reviews, obviously not. One review recently confused me from a 'British Indian'. I don't think the meals are going to be the same 'as what grandmother made back in Rangpur when I was a child'. They have to be adapted to the clientele and they do this marvelously. Booking is a must and the manager will go out of his way, along with all the staff, to accommodate you if possible. Bring your own alcohol and have a fantastic time.

Saw the reviews on TripAdvisor so was expecting a lot. As a British Indian I think it's fair to say that's the worst Indian food I've ever had.

A fantastic meal with so much to choose from, the menu offered lots of unusual dishes and very reasonable too. We decided to have an evening in as we had been out for the day, but next time will try a meal in the restaurant.

After reading the reviews on Tripadvisor we decided to order from here on the last day of our holiday. We were not disappointed the food was really good and was very fresh. There was lots of great tastes from our selections. The food was ready on time and packed very well so was still hot when my husband came back to Porthleven with it.

We visited as a couple the food was amazing. So tasty staff so friendly one of the best chicken/lamb naga we have ever tasted truly superb highly recommend this indian restaurant.

Literally just fancied a curry on a wet Wednesday evening and as on holiday had no idea what was on offer and as it was raining this was simply the nearest restaurant to the car park. But oh what a find ! This tiny little restaurant, with no licence for alcohol and who only takes cash no cards....was simply amazing....I've eaten Indian food all over the world and this was as good as anything I've ever tasted. All our dishes were quick, hot, freshly cooked and beautiful, tastes were superb - extremely polite and accommodating staff and based on how busy they were on a Wednesday evening we are not the only people who thought this place was amazing. Full marks on everything from us.

I can really only go on the meal I order, which is chilli garlic lamb balti, which I have fairly regularly but it is simply the best curry I have ever had and is consistently the same quality.

Ordered a takeaway from here for a family of 10 on holiday. What a fantastic meal, plenty of it, lovely cuts of meat and great flavours, not one complaint amongst the gang! Would highly recommend.

I love Indian food and we went here as a threesome; me, my wife and my daughter. We booked earlier that evening for 3 of us but on arrival they seemed surprised to see us and ended up squeezing us onto a table for three with an extra seat on the side where the table leg was. Not the best of starts!We ordered 2 starters and my wife enjoyed her King Prawn Butterfly as did I my Chicken Pakora. However, my Pakora was only 3 lumps of chicken, not that big either and more like chicken nuggets than the Indian starter I'm used to.Before the starters arrived, and my daughter had ordered 1, 3 arrived but to be fair they didn't end up on the bill.My main was Mougli Chicken and it was fine, but the sauce was not as much as I'd have liked and was a bit bland. My wife had Chicken Korma and enjoyed the sauce but felt it was a bit stingy too, her chicken was a bit dry as well. My daughter has a small appetite and just ordered Chicken Tikka but couldn't eat it all. I think she enjoyed it though.Couldn't fault it too much and I've had worse Indian meals but I've also had better too. I can see why all the Indians in Helston are not ranked well on here. There were 2 staff out front and 1 was more attentive than the other but I think he went out on a delivery. The other one was less so and we had to ask for service when we needed it. He seemed happier doing dishes at the bar or clearing the other tables after people had left.The whole experience was OK but nothing special and being sat by the door where people were waiting for their takeaways on a table for 2 was not the most auspicious start, I might eat here again, but would more likely try a Chinese or something else instead. I don't think Helston is a good place for Indian food.

we have eaten both in the restaurant and had take aways several times and it is by far our favourite indian. the food is beautiful visually and on the palette. highly recommend if you want to experience authentic Indian cuisine!

I come from the Midlands which is full of Indian Restaurant,s so you can imagine I am quite picky and have had great difficulty finding a really good Indian, well search no more this is the best one since we came to live down here 12 years ago. The food is to die for and the service is as good as the food, you are made to feel very welcome. Can't recommend this place enough if you want an authentic Indian try it for yourself

We went here for the second time when visiting friends nearby. We find that the poppadoms and sauces are great, the flavoured rice - particularly lemon and the garlic one are excellent. Lovely food though no desserts on offer (no demand in this area apparently). Very helpful but not too attentive (ie just right) staff and even when we asked for more of this and that it was supplied without question. Oh and by accident I swept 3 (empty) glasses off the table with my coat as I left and the waiter couldn't have been more forgiving and helpful! We will be back again. Having the option to take your own wine etc is just great (alcohol not for sale on the premises). More restaurants should do this.

My friend had a Chicken Bhuna and I had a Lamb Curry and the meats were fairly tasteless as both had not been marinated as you would expect. Basically, I think all they have done is cooked the meats and poured curry sauce over them. The Chiken was still white as you cut into it. We had a Popodum each to start and shared an Onion Bargi followed by the above. Price £42. Yes we got ripped off.Onviously I would not recommend this place. Also, they also do not take Credit Cards. It seems unusual that these places don't accept Credit Cards. I wonder why that is?

Just a short review as only popped in for a take-out but extremely impressed with the welcome, the food and the service in general. Seems to have a lovely atmosphere, premises is not licensed so can only but soft drinks but that definitely would not deter us from visiting again. Happy to recommend.

This little restaurant is always a first choice when visiting Helston. The welcome is always warm, and the food good.This time we had the Chicken Shashlik, which was cooked perfectly, and well spiced. Also a Lamb Dansak which was fine, but slightly too sweet for me. Sag Aloo was full of flavour, although a little more spinach would have been nice. Overall the meal was very good. As with many Indian restaurants, some of the 'standard' curries can be a little average, so best to stick to the specialties or chefs recommendations. Before I have had the Sagwala Tawa, which was excellent. One little let down this visit was the waitress spent more time texting than paying attention to customers...a minor point, but a little irritating. All said and done, still the best Indian in town in my opinion.

We went here last night with friends who had recommended it and the were right to do so . I had king prawn balti and my husband had chicken jalfrazi with pilau rice & peshwari nan to share and both were gorgeous . We normally have a 20 min drive to Penzance to our favourite but now we've discovered another which is only 6 mins away . Happy days

Been coming here for several years and always enjoy the food, The service is always top notch the food is great. I can be a bit of an awkward diner, i.e they sell a chilli naan and a cheese naan. i always ask for a chilli cheese naan and they're always happy to put up with my "quirks". When they removed my favorite dish from the menu lamb Paneer I mentioned how i was disappointed about it. The chef said no bother tell me when you're next here and i'll make it for you. True to his word he did, he then took me into the kitchen to show me how he makes it. was really impressed with this.I think i'll be coming here for many yerrs to come.One thing though isn't the photo at the top of the page actually the Anglo Asia?I have'nt beren in India for a couple of months but it didn't look like this when I was last there.

We came across this beautiful Indian whilst on holiday. Being as my husband and I are curry fans, we decided to eat in here. We received a genuine and warm welcome from the staff.We ordered a variety of dishes and have to say the flavours were amazing and the best Indian we've had in a long time. The portions of very generous and the staff were very attentive.Highly recommend this Indian to you; totally outstanding.

I went there with my family for takeaway but ended up eating there.....the Bangladeshi guy named Hassan is a top bloke and he made us feel welcome with his smile and hospitality He mixed up quickly with kids and made sure our experience was of top classThe food was amazingly good especially chana bhuna and Tarka daalThe atmosphere was really good and the whole ambiance gave you a true India like feelingI can visit this restaurant again and again just for good food and the hospitality of the staff...very polite and helpful...thanks Hassan

We were a bit lost looking for somewhere to eat in Helston and had been directed to 'the Indian', but which one? We plumbed for this restaurant and were well pleased with the outcome, so much so that we returned for a second visit in the same week. My wife chose the Methi Ghosht on both occasions as she enjoyed it so much whilst I liked the Chicken Dansak and the Special Chicken Jalfrezi. We also enjoyed the Bombay Potato with Cumin Seeds so much we had that twice whilst my wife also chose Tarka Dhal on our second visit. We were surprised by the variability in reviews given our experience, we are familiar with the range of subcontinental cuisine and the various forms of more or less successful treatments, and we thought that this restaurant is trying hard. The number of Helston residents who were present on the evenings of our visits seemed to say something too alongside the healthy takeaway trade. We would suggest you give this one a go and let everyone know about your experience as we have.

In reality more a 3,5! My daughter, the fussiest eater ever adored, the tandoori starter with pilau rice, for that reason a 4! Quite expensive, but would certainly go back; very handy for us. With takeaways it's always a bonus to have a couple of complementary papadoms, especially when the additional cost is minimal to the restaurant, many do; perhaps, India, you could think of doing this! Also no discount on takeaways which is the norm in other such restaurants.

Visited this restaurant not expecting much, what a shock! Firstly the staff are cheerful, polite and very helpful! I asked for a curry off the menu and asked if it was possible to have it spicier than normal. It was one of the best curries that I have ever had! The chicken was flavoursome and tender, the sauce was rich and wow.... Super spicy and the naan bread was top class.Note to anyone visiting, this establishment is 'bring your own booze'. But I already knew that and settled for water. Will visit again and recommend you do so too!

We tried this no frills establishment [no alcohol licence, cash only] while on holiday. Noticed the only other couple could not finish their meal, and when we got ours the reason was obvious - the food was swimming in vegetable oil. In our case the cauliflower in a side order of bhaji was not properly cooked. We did not finish our meal either, and felt ill afterwards.

Went out with a few friends for some food before heading out! The food was lovely! Only problem was we weren't aware that you had to pay for your poppadoms at the beginning of the meal (thought it was like free prawn crackers at a Chinese) turns out on the bill it was £9.60 for a round of poppadoms!!! Other than that, food was brilliant and service was quick!!

Take-away has always been either; A treat, run out of food and too tired to go to Tesco or just can't be bothered to cook. Unless it's someone's birthday etc then it's a must if not going out proper. So what type of take away? Given the Chinese that we always go to is currently closed for holidays, it was one of those can't be bothered to cook moments. Dominos? no had that last month, The other Chinese in town? no didn't enjoy our last meal although this was a long time ago. Ok so Indian then. Have to admit had to use a little trip advice on this one. Yes have tried all three of them but there has been a re-branding of one and the reviews weren't great. Have been here years ago but couldn't remember the meal. According to trip advisor it was the best out of the three on average. Well what a great choice it was. Lamb biryani, Chicken Korma, Garlic Naan and popadoms (as traditional as prawn crackers a must!). Absolutely divine it was to die for! The korma was great, succulent chicken and a great sauce. Mushroom rice was yumdiddledeeyum. The biryani was succulent and just gorj!! The décor was pleasant and the background music pretty cool. The wait wasn't that long and there wasn't any microwave ping sounds from the kitchen. The waiter was polite and immaculate and I have to say I do like the idea of a no licensed bar. I can see the benefits of that for the management. After all nobody wants rowdiness after a few sherbets but you can always bring your own if you want to have a drink. Not only did we have an amazing meal which by the way satisfied my hungryman appetite, I was stuffed. We had 10% off as we had take-away. If you fancy a great meal either sit down or take-away then this is the Indian to try. Tell you what why don't you try them all? But I bet that you will enjoy this place more so. Will we be coming back? Of course we will.

Not really too much of an atmosphere here. Serve you and ship you out. Not a bad place, but only as good as the company you are with in my opinion

Have eaten both in the restaurant and had several take always. Food is consistent and of a good quality. Staff are polite and unobtrusive.

Used this restaurant for eating in as well as take away. Always great food, excellent service , great value for money. :))

Good quality Indian food. Clean comfy environment. Only a small resteraunt so advisable to book well in advance. Excellent take out as well.

I visited India mid-week on my own, as I was staying in Helston whilst with work. I was welcomed by the waiter and discovered the menu to be wide ranging. I ordered a lamb balti, pilau rice and chappati. I found it to be delicious and very flavoursome without being too spicy - I really enjoyed it. The waiter was very polite and friendly which added to the good experience. I would happily re-visit if ever back in Helston.

Went there with my wife on a Tuesday night, very quiet food not very good King prawns overcooked and tough had a selection of dishes none very inspiring sorry I like good Indian food this is not it.Had to go out to cash machine as this is cash only and bring your own drinks.Pity as the waiter was a very nice chap from Bangldesh.

Had a take-away from here on Monday 19th. Very happy with the meal. It was ready on time and very tasty.

India offers the best curry in Cornwall. It is not a huge restaurant and is unlicensed but if you want an authentic Indian meal, look no further. Being Indian cuisine fans we have tried many Indians in different places we have lived - Truro, Falmouth, Newquay, Redruth. We have regular takeaways from India and are never disappointed. Highly recommend.
