India Cottage Take Away in Bristol, City of

Tasty curry but over 45 mins late with delivery for a small order (despite the original delivery time being *an hour* from ordering, so took 1hr 45mins to reach me), granted it was a weekend, but an order placed before 6pm should not take this long. If they know delivery will take this long then they should be up-front about that when the order is placed. Would recommend this place only if you can travel to collect yourself.

Thought we'd try as haven't been for 15 plus years, well it will be another 15 years until we try again. Funny colour curry, tasteless, funny texture chicken and Naan bread resembles cardboard.

Absolutely awful service. Told 45-60 minute delivery time. After a further 2 chasing phone calls eventually arrived, 2hours after ordering!! Will not be using again which is a shame as the curries were really tasty.

I’ve never had a bad takeaway from this place but recently found out that by ordering on their website I pay 13% more than if I phone or walk in and order. I took it up with whoever answered the phone and he said that the extra 13% was for web site charges. I immediately cancelled my order and asked for a refund which I hope to receive in a couple of days Never again this is disgusting treatment of a regular customer

Reviewed before but clearly cooking has gone downhill fast. Chicken Madras tasteless Lamb rogan strange colours and lamb hard to chew Large menu wonder if most have same sauce

Friday order online ready on time and great Indian meal including Biryani All 3 meals were perfect and will be going there again

Ghastly neon colored curries made with soggy, overdone vegetables, glutinous sauces and dry-as-a-bone, tough, obviously pre-cooked meat

Terrible food, was cold and small portions. Samosas x 2 tiny ones not even made for £2.99. I wont be using again and will go to Posh Spice across the road !

Ordered a delivery. Arrived within the time quoted. Food was amazing. Flavours were on point. Cannot fault it in any way. Would definitely recommend. 5 *

Recently moved to Nailsea, & was recommended to try takeaway food from them, by so many people, that I just had to try it. What very friendly people, and I have to say the food is every bit as good as I was told it was. So much so, that I had to write this review. First class food at a competitive price, with a friendly manner, what more could I want!!! To call in again tomorrow 👍

We've had 4 ot 5 takeaways from India Cottage since moving to the area. The food quality is really high and staff are friendly. We had our first delivery this week and the food arrived on time. Can recommend the madras, tikka mains and biryanis.

Ordered food for delivery. ETA was approximately an hour which we thought was acceptable if they were busy. 2 hours later the food arrived cold, and by the time it did and I tasted it, I really wish it hadn’t and that we’d settled for a bacon sandwich. This isn’t the first time this has happened, but for us, it will be the last. There are far better restaurants and takeaways in the area.

This was my first delivery order at the India Cottage. It was extremely easy to complete the order and although I didn’t get confirmation quickly, I did eventually have confirmation of the order. The food arrived at exactly the right time and was superb. All four of us had a different main course and they were all excellent. Quantities were more than adequate and we enjoyed the mixed starters. An experience which we will repeat!

I used to use this place a lot when it had the old bloke in charge with no issues, but since it has changed hands - what a difference. Don't know how it's going to turn out. Sometimes it's excellent other times it's bad - REALLY BAD. Really small portions now and then, spice levels very - I always had a chicken vindaloo and sometimes was more like the spice from a korma. Wife always had a tikka masala and one time it blew her head off. Onion bhaji have quartered in size. Get wrong type of rice from order - or completely wrong order. They always chuck in free poppadoms but it does not make up for the poor service. Lost confidence in the place - will not use again. My advise - use it but you'll be rolling the dice.

Ordered Prawn Biryani and Chicken Korma on line for collection (don't forget to put a collection time in the comments section). It was ready on time and tasted great. Perhaps a bit too much garlic in the mushroom bhaji. Free poppadums as well!

I pre-ordered the food as I thought it might be busy. It is now 1.5 hours after the delivery time and the food has still not turned up. That is despite four calls to them where each time they have told me, ‘the food is on its way’!!!! I can’t review the food itself..... it hasn’t turned up! Utter shambles of a takeaway.

Brilliant service, ordered online for delivery. Good arrived in time. Both the dishes looked and tastes different so no stock sauces used. I can recommend the chicken tikka methi. The chicken was tender and moist and the sauce was really well flavoured.

Ate for 1st time tonight, best curry ever tasted, definitely recommend and very good value for money.

Overall customer service and the quality of food was fantastic. Staff were very polite on the phone and food arrived on time. Food portion was excellent, food arrived nice and hot.

Tbh we arrived for our takeaway and was greeted by a scruffy guy with long greasy hair. Not the welcome we expected. What a miserable person for a front of house person. In all fairness he was busy though.Apart from that the food we had was fantastic in fact best curry I’ve ever had. We ordered chicken madras and Prawn Korma with pilau rice nan alu Gobi . Change the guy on the desk although he’s propably the owner lol Anyway we will return and the food was thoroughly enjoyable

I've been coming here for around 12 years now - same staff, same consistently good food at very keen prices. Some unusual items on an extentive menu.

Extremely late, nearly an hour later than told. Clueless. Made excuses. Still didn't prioritise after acknowledging. Don't bother

Long time visitor here, the staff are so friendly! and super helpful when recommending dishes to try. All food is cooked fresh, and the different styles of Indian cuisine are hit through an enormous array of different flavours. Thoroughly impressed and definitely my favourite takeaway.

We have relatives who live in Nailsea & when we visit we always have a curry from this place as it is always the very best Indian cuisine, cooked to perfection, absolutely delicious & is very reasonably priced, who could ask for more !

Bought a meal for the family and collected it. Everything was spot on. The food, service, everything. Highly recommend. (I get to enjoy the leftovers tomorrow too!)

Have used this takeaway since we moved to Nailsea 7 years ago - I have eaten a lot of curries across the uk and abroad and even in India - this is up there with the best of them - every meal has been top notch, every order has been right - what more can you ask for !!

Lived in nailsea for 6 years or so - this is by far the best Indian takeaway I have ever visited. The food is always hot and always tasty 😋 nice staff and quick service - see you again soon

If you really want excellent Indian cuisine then make your way to this restaurant which can be found down the High Street. They have a very good & comprehensive menu which should suit all tastes. All their food is freshly prepared & cooked to your requirements & all can be purchased for a very reasonable price.

Decided to try India Cottage for a change after reading reviews.The takeaway was collected and was nice and hot when I got it home. Price and portion size was reasonable. However, if I'm honest, the food was bland; tikka masala was watery and the peshwari naan was the least tasty I've had in years. I ate half and didn't bother with the rest. It wasn't a terrible meal, but I definitely won't be returning.

As a small tucked away location, it was a wonderful suprise to discover such a high standard, in such a place. The curry was excellant, so too was the gentleman who served us. He was courteous and helpful.

Have been really disappointed for a year or so with Indian restaurants and take aways.

Great veggie food options. (I am sure their non-veggie options are just as good.) Incredibly tasty, well prepared food. All dishes were excellent. The food was hot when it arrived and portions were enough for 2 more meals over the weekend. Well played. I have found my Indian local in Nailsea. Very happy customer. Thanks.

When we are in Nailsea & fancy a curry we always go to this takeaway restaurant as, in my opinion it is the best by far. Every thing is cooked to your requirements & all for a very reasonable cost.

Had a delicious takeaway from here last night. The man who served us was really friendly and even rounded the cost down to the nearest £10 as I would have needed to break a note to pay the extra £1 or so. Free coke with meals over £10 too. Youngest Kids first Indian and they loved it! Will be a regular thing!

Just had the best Indian takeaway I've ever had. Stunningly well cooked chicken tikka dansak with a rich and unctuous dall masala and mushroom bhaji. The very best indian food in the district.

We order deliveries directly. The service is brilliant, the food is delicious. The staff are lovely. This is not a restaurant just a take away.

Used them a few times, but tonight ordered home delivery for one. Free over a tenner within Nailsea. Superbo, highly recommend, food hot both spicy and temperature wise, great value the meal for one was more than enough for the wife and me, hope they don't start making portions smaller...9

Ate from here last night for the second time. Ordered over the phone which was simple, picked it up half an hour later. The owner and his staff are very polite and courteous. Took it home to warm plates upon which it looked fresh, colourful and appetising. Then I devoured it. My partner ate hers in a more civilized manner. We will be eating from here many more times in the future. I'll post some photos next time.

If you like authentic Indian cuisine then make your way to this takeaway & you will not be disappointed. They have a very comprehensive menu, which should suit all tastes, their lamb madras is excellent & if you add their mushroom bhajee & vegetable rice to the dish

Just finished my chicken madras from the Indian Cottage. Absolutely delicious. Can't fault the whole process from ordering by 'phone to collecting and consuming. Will certainly be repeating the experience!

Popped in for a curry. Wish I hadn't. Tough meat, curry watery. Must have changed chefs as whole meal was under parr compared to previous visits.

Excellent, varied menu. Polite and helpful staff. This place offers fresh and tasty food. Does home delivery! Bonus.

Every time we visit Nailsea & fancy a curry we always go to India Cottage as their curries have so much flavour. The staff there are always very friendly & if you wish you can go & pick up your food or they can deliver it to your home. If you desire great Indian cuisine then go to India Cottage Take Away ! !

I thought I would try a smaller take away to the one which we normally use in the town, and gladly I wasnt disappointed. I ordered my usual Chicken Dhansk as a benchmark, which was hot, spicy and sweet which is how it should be, the one from the other place is normally 2 of the 3 things. The free delivery was also a bonus over the other place. All in all I will be using this place again as my first choice

I've been searching for a nice Indian for a while now as my normal Indian had closed down, and this was by far the most tastiest Indian I've had in a long time! I had lamb patia and mushroom rice it was sweet yet had a great kick to it. I'd highly recommend this Indian restaurant as the price was actually very good too! We had ours delivered and was here in good timing! A must! :)

Their food is always beautifully cooked & is absolutely delicious, it is a must for any Indian foodie !! The food from here is always great and there is a large selection ro choose from. The staff are always very welcoming when you go into the shop and you dont have to wait to long for the food to come out ethier!

We normally eat at Posh Spice, up the road, but we've found ourselves going less and less as the food quality was "variable". We fancied a ruby this evening and having checked the reviews for India Cottage, placed a telephone order for a chicken pathia, a chicken tikka main course, peshwari nan and pulao rice. Simple stuff. Surprise number 1. They deliver FOC (orders over £15.00).Surprise number 2. Delivered in 25 minutes.Surprise number 3. The nan bread wasn't soggy!Surprise number 4. All of the food was hot.Surprise number 5. It was delicious! We're converts, this is now "our Indian".India Cottage is a takeaway (only) and they don't open at lunch time. Otto.

India cottage is what I would call my "benchmark curry" - which is unfortunate for other curry houses given the very high standards! The service is fantastic and the people who own it are very friendly. Fantastic value. Recommend the Korahi kebab dansak - my favourite dish! I'm very well travelled in terms of Indian restaurants / take aways, but always find myself coming back here!

The best Indian in Nailsea and Bristol! Delicious mouth watering food at very good prices and the staff are very helpful and friendly. I personally recommended their Chicken Gorkali, the dish is packed with flavour but that said it is just like their other dishes. Overall Very Impressed and Highly Recommended!

The food was not hot and I didn't enjoy it.It seems as this is a part time business and they don't promoteit enough to generate a good business.Good selection of offers but poor quality.

I have been going here for the last two years with my boyfriend on a pretty regular basis and the curries are the best we've had. The service is incredible, they are always friendly and add a personal touch, and the prices are excellent. I particularly recommend the Patia and the Dansak!

We have been visiting our friends in Nailsea for eight years now & every time during our stay with them we have had a take away curry from this establishment, as we have never been disappointed with the quality & quantity of the food provided at a very reasonable price. They have a very comprehensive menufor the discerning curry enthusiast, who will find exactly what they want , I am sure ! They provide both a pick up or delivery service, so you can choose which you prefer. The people are very pleasant too, so if you fancy an excellent curry this is the place to get it !
