Imran Balti Hut in Northampton

Order online so can't rate the eat-in. Usually have Jalfrezi,Pathia,Ceylon or Dhansak with pilau rice & peshwari naan.Always good,hot and prompt delivery. Wasn't keen on the Tikka Massala though,much too sweet but I prefer hotter dishes.

Absolutely delicious meal out with my family. The food was outstanding. Each of us had a different dish and each was equally as good. Family garlic Naan was so big we couldn't finish it between 3 adults and 1 child. We arrived at 6pm which meant it was nice and quiet, however it was filling up fast as we left. Service was great, prompt and efficient. First visit in some years and we will certainly be back very soon.

We ordered a takeaway this evening and the food was absolutely delicious! The sauces were really tasty and the meat nice and moist . Really impressed . Friendly staff will definitely be back . Hope it’s stays consistent as we order Indians frequently so will swap from our usual to Imran if they stay consistent .

Arrived at 6.pm on a Friday evening hottest day of the year but still fancied a curry with the wife. The waiters all well mannered and friendly. The food was spot on all freshly cooked,chicken buna and a tandori shaslik that was so tasty and the naan and chips on the side also piping hot and so tasty. 4 pints of cobra lager which was ice cold and hit the spot and the price was as good as the food. Been drinking at the Weil road for 30 years and nice to know you can still get a quality curry and decent beer for good value.👍

This is a fab restaurant.... If you like Balti dishes and Naan bread then this is for you.... A table for 5 with beers and side dishes £120.... It may not look much inside but the food is delicious.... Service is on point too.... Suggest you pre-book though on busy weekend and Friday nights....

Good food, great service, the booth we were in was a bit small for 3 tall people, but a minor quibble.

Not been here for years. Went on a Tuesday special night. The seating in the booths is too tight & awkward to sit & eat a curry. Popadoms were good. Ordered the Sheek kebab as a starter. Was over cooked & tasteless. Chicken tikka Korma was good. Boiled rice good. Onion bhaji’s good. Plain Naan bread cooked a little too long so wasn’t soft, but crispy. Beer on draught good. Average curry house. Won’t be returning in a hurry.

Food was really nice and waiters very friendly but annoyed that they charged £1.50 per person for bringing their own drinks even though not all used glasses. One of our group was charged this amount and they didn't even have a drink at all. There is no mention of this charge on their website or menu as far as i could ascertain.

They leave chutney trays on the table but does not inform they charge extra for these. Not experienced this at any other restaurant.

Came here on Saturday night. Food was really tasty with plenty of spice. Service was great and staff was pleasant. Reasonabley priced too. Our only downfall was we noticed the poppadom dips we're sitting uncovered on shelves to the rear of the restaurant and when they came to the table the yogurt dip was warm. Also the keema Naan bread didn't come with coloured spiced meat. Every where we've been it's usually served reddish in colour with spices inside. Other than that we had a great evening and we will be back. 👍

Went as a group of seven - and we were very, very loud (apologies). Waiters took drunk banter extremely well and the service was amazing despite one of our group members being an absolute nuisance. Good food as well!

Great tasting food again for the 4 of us. Lamb Jalapeno had great spice but full of flavour. One of the best mushroom rice on the side aswell The all important keema 2 nann ratiowas a solid 8/10and was a lovely thin dough as i like but maybe not for all. Overall all 4 of us had a great value meal.

This is a great venue if you prefer to bring your own drinks. It was very popular when I visited - even though it was early January. The staff were very tolerant of the more lively customers too, which was kind of them. The food was generally very good for the group but my Baltic dish arrived rather cooler than I would have preferred.

Lovely food served in the metal dish it is cooked in. BYOB is good and they are happy to give you a glass. Going to try the Banquet TUESDAY.

Fantastic food and fantastic service. Haven’t been to this curry house for years and wow, what an improvement. Really great food and will defo be going back again very soon.

Its a loud busy restaurant and the servers are very attentive and polite. We were a large party the day we attended but the food all came together and was super tasty.

I've eaten at Imran's quite a few times over the years. The most recent occasion was Tuesday 19th Sept when we were a party of seven and they coped with us very well. They've been in the business so long that I think they've become very professional in what they do ~ whereas other restaurants along the Welly Road have just come and gone..

We visited for dinner with the family. Staff were friendly and knew which dishes had gluten and so our gluten free family member got a good meal. We had balti, korma and naan (gluten based). Which were delicious. Would recommend visiting here.

Never left a bad review. Will now. A 2 hour wait for food last night! Loads of colleagues gave up and went home after an hour and a half. My Jalfrezi was cold and devoid of much meat, the Saag Aloo was missing any potato and looked like soup. I did wolf it down but that was because by the time I got it I was starving. The owner needs to sit down with his staff and come up with a credible plan going forward. I would suggest going elsewhere.

Decent Indian food at a reasonable price.

Yesterday was our wedding anniversary and I asked my wife what and where she wanted to eat. After talking through a range of foods and places, we decided on the Imran Balti Hut in Northampton. We had been once before. a year or more ago, and were impressed enough to make the thirty minute drive from home. The Balti we were served on our last visit was excellent and last nights was just as good. For me it was a lamb Bengal Balti and for Mel it was chicken bhuna Balti. The flavour, spice and heat for us was perfect. The dishes and food were piping (oven) hot which is not always the case in some restaurants these days. It was banquet night, great value for money, and we started with poppadum's and chutneys and then a pIlau rice with a side of saag paneer, delicious, and a Peshwari naan bread with our Balti's. The naans here are big and the sweet flavour was just right with the spice and heat of the mains. Great staff who explained in detail the difference on a couple of dishes to help Mel decide on her Balti. Good location in the town and easy tom park. But the key here for us is, in our opinion, its the best place for a Balti in our area. We would highly recommend a visit.

Had the pleasure of ordering a delivery meal again from this great restaurant. Told 45 minutes, arrived in 25, had the set meal for 2, for my wifes birthday, the only mildly annoying thing is the set meals are not available to order online but a quick phone call and all ordered.

All the curries were tasty and well spiced especially the extra hot Phall (Not on the menu) but still tasted it well. Family naan was fairly crispy to edges and the keema to naan ratio wasnt great despite asking for it to be so 6/10 on the ratio Great service had a good laugh. They also had the best Cobra glasses

Went on Sunday evening and took advantage of £10starter and main deal. Food was superb and service excellent, staff very friendly. Took own alcohol in too. Very pleasant and in these times great value. Recommended

Decided today to have a curry evening. So glad we chose Imran. Right from booking the service received was excellent-as was our meal. Very reasonable price as well. Early evening visit so not busy. Will certainly be returning.

I can't recall when I last went to the Imran. I moved away from Northampton in 2013, and prior to that, it used to be one of my favourite haunts. But I know it was closed for a while some years ago after a fire and took a while to reopen. 9 years away is a long time, and having read some not-so-good reviews, I was concerned that maybe going back was going to spoil the memories I had of the place in years past. I needn't have worried. The food was just as good as it ever was and the service was exemplary. I'd read that the staff were rude: nothing could be further from the truth. You can still bring your own booze as well, which of course is a bonus. Ignore any negative reviews you read: I certainly won't be leaving it another 9 years before I return again!

Not sure where to start but from Entering to Exit it was appalling. The staff have no clue what’s going on and the manager was rude. The food was terrible and the excuse was the main chief/owner was away from the country

Myself and my family have been eating at this establishment for years and the food is fantastic. On this occasion the food did arrive late however it was a Saturday night and the first time it has happened. They also missed part of the order but was rectified very professionally. I would highly recommend this restaurant/ takeaway as they are very polite and give a good customer service. Plus the food is the best in town.

Visited on the weekend with friends and was great from when we first walked in. All of the staff were fun and friendly, our food was delicious and priced great. You can bring your own drinks for an extra £1.35 per person which is a very reasonable cork charge. Can’t fault it 👍

This place holds many a good memory of nights out with my friends. Whomever I'm out with the food is always good. The family naan is something to behold, a veritable duvet of Indian bread to share with those you love and care for.

This has been our 'go to' takeway and preferred balti/indian restaurant for ages now . The older man that used to meet and greet is seemingly no longer their but the new host is making a darn fine try of maintaining and improving the service. Quality of the food however, has never faltered .

The poor fellow had to put up with me coughing and spluttering as I ordered on the phone, chest infection, I hope . Anyway, the food was delicious, tender meat and a great sauce. I just wish I knew the Lamb Hyderabadi had crunchy onions, then I have chose the cucumber raita instead of onion. Definitely 5 out of 5.

Very nice restaurant serving tasty food.

I have unfortunately taken of 4 stars for this review as upon eating here again, I was charged £6.10 for 4 paperdoms and chutneys. What I find distasteful about this is the way it was done. We were asked if we'd like paperdoms, nothing about extra charges for the chutneys that come with it. The chutney pricing on the menu is also all the way at the back on the last page, unsurprising. The food is delicious and portion sizes generous, but this experience has left me a bit salty if I am honest, so I am sorry for removing my 5 stars because of it

Had a take out, it was ok'ish nothing special very average 5/10

Would leave 0 if it was possible. Used to be a massive fan of Imran but not any longer. Ordered today and an hour later my order was still not cooked. When I spoke to reception, I was promised that order will be leaving in 10 min (I live 5 mins away), another 50 min later order still didn’t arrive and reception doesn’t pick up any longer. What a disappointment and really poor customer service. Shame on you Imran, won't be back and will share my experience with friends and family to make sure nobody else has similar experience!

The food here never lets you down. Always tasty and hot. I do not like things too spicy and they always cook what I choose to perfection. Cannot recommend highly enough

We have eaten here so many times but not in the past 2 years. The food was ok but not as good as it used to be. The staff were not overly friendly. Overall we were dissapointed.

Our main Indian takeaway place. Really nice food, love the restaurant it self, but takeaways can be a bit too saulty and too spicy. I like mine extra mild. Overall good place to eat, and I would recommend it.

Phoned them 5 times for delivery No answer. Collected instead, onions, sauces & rice missed from order!! As well as one curry had large amount of oil In it!! Tried calling to see what they can do? Maybe give discount for next order I don’t...
