Pleasant & interesting local roman site with a super viewing tower overlooking the site of the roman fort, at the moment the baths are closed for refurbishment so £1 discount is given on the entrance fee. The original baths are a little further across from the site where the previous ship inn public house was .. these were discovered underneath when demolished, nice museum & displays & the café food is very tasty offering hot meals & snacks also the staff are lovely .. very friendly.

Spent a few weeks working on the quayside nearby and this cafe welcomed us in even in our work gear. The food is proper home cooked grub and the Sunday roast is awesome! The cakes are all made freshly on the premises and I can recommend the cup cakes. If you're in wallsend or at the museum then pop in. Ideal for kids as its not fussy

Visited here while in Newcastle and it was great. Lovely little café that serves everything , even Xmas dinner. Had a great veggie cheese and chilli sandwich with salad. Only thing not so good was the coffee which was strong and not that hot. Apart from that it was good and we sat in the window with a great view.

I won't be back for the museum, but I will make an effort to Come back to lllies Cafe the next time I'm up this way, simply becoz it is an amazing little place to eat. Everything home cooked and delicious. Lots of choices too. I had the breakfast- all Nice And fresh, and soup Of the day. Delicious! Chunky vegetable Soup of onions, tomatoes and potatoes. Yummy! And steak Pie and mince pie to take away :D I spotted cake too but at last, I was too full to eat anymore.

Great little cafe with views over the Roman fort and the river Tyne. I got a Pork Dinner in a large bap and a drink for £4 - what's not to like.

A spacious clean and comfortable cafe / restaurant overlooking the site of the Roman Fort of Segedunum. A varied menu all freshly cooked and tremendous value for money served by two of the happiest and friendliest ladies you could wish to meet. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
