Always delicious and the team are amazingly friendly and fun.

Great range of vegetarian options. My cousin, who needs gluten free options, felt very spoilt for choice (including a GF penne and risotto dish!) Excellent service, great vibe! Will come back again soon.

Nipped in for an unplanned early dinner, great service and food. Reasonably priced too. Was not busy. Support local independent business, use them or they may disappear..which would be a same

This restaurant couldn't be more accommodating, and the food and wine was excellent to boot. We turned up late (10.30pm) on a Saturday night, but they still happily served us 2 courses. There were only 2 other tables when we went in and everyone else had gone by the time we left. Really good mains (we both had pizza). Wine was very good too, aswell as the ice cream we had afterwards. And at the end of it, we found it to be good value too, about £60 for 2 people from memory)

We wanted a local restaurant to where our son and daughter-in-law live in Westbury on Trym and we went for Sunday Lunch. The restaurant was empty which was surprising but we didn't mind as we had a toddler with us and it was quiet and the service was excellent as a result. We couldn't fault the food - a huge choice and everything was delicious. If you want atmosphere, this might not be the place for you at lunchtime, but perhaps it would be more lively in the evening.

Can't really comment on atmosphere as it was early lunch rime and very quiet but the food was excellent and service was good. Had crab pasta and a pizza, portions were very big and price was good especially with lunch deal. Decor was very nice..was surprised as from outside it looks like nothing special and is down an alley

The food my partner and I had was very tasty, as was the antipasti, but the kids menu was pretty disappointing - a couple of carrot and cucumber sticks to start and a very measley portion of spaghetti for mains. The ice cream was an ok size though. Also disappointing that there were no profiteroles left for dessert and the other dessert options weren't that inspiring. Service was pretty lack lustre and slow (the food came out in decent time, but it was them taking our orders/requests that was slow and infrequent).

Absolutely fine overall. Menu & food was good, and no problem with service. Antipasta plate & linguini dishes were good value. We let slip it was a birthday dinner and the restaurant responded unprompted with their candle & birthday music - is just good customer care! It was v quiet for a Saturday night, but I bet you will need to book come Valentines night.

My husband and I have been twice, the first time a few months ago on a weekday lunchtime and the second time yesterday on a Saturday lunchtime with our 6 week old baby. On both occasions we were welcomed with open arms, even though we had no booking & turned up on a whim. This place deserves to be busier than it is - it's a real hidden gem compared to other places that are chain businesses in the local area. This restaurant really gives a feel of authenticity and Fabio is a wonderful host. The food is always exceptional, really tasty & presented well. There's a great range of drinks and food and portion sizes are very generous. We've had pizzas twice and they qre delicious. We also had starters today (calamari and a cheese garlic bread pizza) and these were also wonderful! We don't live locally, but on our visits to the area Il Sapore is our go to & is yet to disappoint. Thank you so much for such a lovely dining experience & always being so welcoming.

Great food, good prices and friendly service. As a family we rate this Italian restaurant higher than the ones we have visited in Bristol city centre in terms of taste and quality of the meals.

Myself and my partner went to IL Sapore for our 3 year anniversary. The food was very flavoursome. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the flavours were light and refreshing, and the tiramasu was absolutely divine. We will definitely be returning customers.

Have been to this restuarant several times and the food and drink have been excellent on each occasion.

Atmosphere - was quiet as mid-week and we were pretty much first in but gradually improved. Service was good overall however difficult to flag the waiter down as we were around the corner so had to wait a little. Food was great - fillet steak underdone so had to return half way through - not really an issue - very nice experience overall and highly recommend.

Lovely meal - really relaxing but everything served promptly which we needed to get back for babysitter. Food was good and varied and service was just right too.

A google search the night before came up with this restaurant . What a great find! Great food selection , freshly prepared. Great atmosphere and such warm and friendly service. Would Highly recommend.

Although the staff were very friendly, the food was a bit of a let down. I had the belly pork and it was sadly overcooked and stringy. It came with crackling which I couldn't eat as one bit was so rubbery I couldn't bite through it. Although the pork was overcooked, it did have a great flavour. the menu said "With roast peppers, gnocchi, crackling and apple sauce." but there were just a few small strips of pepper. The apple sauce was good though, as was the gnocchi, but the main part of the dish, the pork, let it down sadly

Muscles in white wine was to die for. Filet stake medium rare melt in your mouth with red wine sauce just wow. Barolo 2016 £50 the best price I’ve seen in any restaurant by £15/20! I would highly recommend, service is great by the gentleman, knowledgeable, beautiful restaurant in the heart of BS9 WOT what more do you want? We will be coming back

Love this place. Tucked away on the high street, very relaxing, really friendly service and the food is top drawer. We had the dough petals and homemade meatballs to start with, followed by 2 pasta dishes - a wild boar dish and a seafood dish. The place was quite empty when we got there (but we did have an early 7pm table) but filled out pleasingly whilst we ate, giving a really nice atmosphere. Been there a few times, and will definitely be back. A hidden gem.

This is a delightful restaurant. I go there often. The food is delicious, with a tempting lunch menu. I usually go for the sea bass. The service is excellent, and the manager is delightful.

Had a table booked on Saturday (my partner had an email confirmation that he booked as a surprise for my birthday). We were staying in the local area and when we arrived I was excited as the place looked gorgeous. After four years of not being able to celebrate my birthday (for various reasons), I was looking forward to the experience as I love Italian food, the interior was lovely (especially the bar area), and we’d actually made it out to celebrate (hurrah!) We arrived five minutes before our booking at 7.30pm and were acknowledged by staff whilst we waited. When we were asked our name it was clear that a table hadn’t actually been reserved for us. Not a good start but a table was set for us, and after being seated were offered drinks. Took a while to come and the waitress came back three times to confirm what we wanted, but we were looking forward to a nice evening. I won’t go into all the details (there were so many mistakes made and we felt forgotten about the entire evening) but what was highlighted the most was the service. It was exceptionally poor. Our starter took ages to arrive and we didn’t get our main course until gone 9.10pm. The staff weren’t attentive at all. We felt like we’d inconvenienced them to be honest. It was fairly busy so can only put it down to lack of staff maybe? The really sticky table (which my napkin and clothes didn’t appreciate) was also strange. The stars are for the food, my pizza was lovely, my partner had the wild boar tagliatelle which he enjoyed. He wanted some Parmesan but no staff around to ask, then the table next to us (who were there before us and got served after) had some offered to them. It was the final disappointment for us, the experience just wasn’t as we’d hoped at all so we paid the bill, left and stopped at the local co op for dessert.

Very disappointed at the quality of food and the very poor service. When we arrived after a friends recommendation. The restaurant was packed but we were seated on time. But after half an hour of waiting we had to ask to order drinks and soda we were ready to order. We had our drinks but no food order was taken as the staff member was scared of to take it. Eventually we ordered 40mins after arriving and received our starter 1.15 hrs after arriving. Some were good some poor. Bread and olives arrived with starters! Mains arrived 2.15 hours after arriving. All poor. My own dried out, friends covered in cold cream. Not an egg in sight for the Carbonara. We curtailed our time there. Will never return others were sending food back as took just to long.

Food was decent and the staff friendly but we waited well over an hour and a half for it. Drinks orders were forgotten more than once and there was a service charge added on to our bill.

Unfortunately waited over a hour for starters which I will say was very nice, but the mains extremely disappointing I know it was a busy night but when you see others arrive after and get food before you makes you wonder what their system is about. Staff I couldn’t fault very friendly

We had a wonderful Christmas Day lunch at Il Sapore. The food was excellent and the staff, so attentive. Recommend I’ll Sapore to anyone looking for that little bit extra.

Our second time visiting here, very nice overall - however I would say that the portions are rather on the small side…they’ve gone for the “presentation” look. I had to get a takeaway later on in the evening.

Second visit to Il Sapore and it was even better than the first. Lovely food, wine, service 10 /10 and great value. Had the spaghetti meatballs, calamari, prawns and a lovely primitivo. Highly recommend!

Disappointed first time here for a birthday meal , portions were small and basic , need a sauce with the steak , by the time it came everyone had almost finished , house red wine not good at all a cheap wine which you could prob buy for three pounds . Not worth the money

We tried Il Sapore for the first time on Tuesday. We ate what is very early for us, around 6-6.30pm. The restaurant was very quiet but still had a pleasant relaxing vibe. The decor is lovely & we were nicely welcomed by the young man on duty & offered a complete choice of tables, any of them would have been nice, we chose a lovely banquette. Our drink order was taken in a timely fashion & the Prosecco & Montepulciano we chose were excellent. Lovely glasses! The service was exemplary throughout. Professional but friendly, timely, very Italian. We shared a Mixed Antipasti for first course, a delicous array of Italian meats & veggies, perfectly presented & top quality. Main for us both was Diver Crab Linguine & OMG this was stunning! Every ingredient fresh as a daisy & so freshly cooked too. There are no words to say how good it is! The menu was difficult as it held lots of tempting things. Only solution is to go back asap. I also to go & take friends who love the very best of Italian food, which this is. My compliments to the young guy on duty last Tuesday evening & the chef. See you again soon!

Fantastic meal. Our second visit and every bit as good as the previous one. The dough petals are lovely, we ordered both types then split them. I then had the sea bass, undoubtedly the best I've ever had. My husband had the chicken breast with fried gnocchi and raved about it. Yummy profiteroles to follow. Staff friendly and efficient. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could.

This is supposed to be a lovely restaurant in westbury, but so far I’ve only had Deliveroo deliveries from them. Both were amazing, big portions, lovely food, perfect taste, and both surprised me by being way better than I thought I’d get. Will try to visit in person soon.

I definitely recommend this Italian restaurant if you want to have a good rest and relax. The atmosphere is pleasant, the food is delicious (a large selection). The restaurant is clean and cozy. Thank you to the staff for the high level of service!

Went here for my wife's birthday. Excellent food and service. Its priced about the same as the chain Italian restaurants but tasted sooo much better. I'll definitely be returning.

Very enjoyable. We all liked the food and the atmosphere and the waiter’s dry sense of humour. Recommend the meatballs and the mushroom risotto. Lovely neighbourhood restaurant which I think is quite new and I will be recommending it and making a return visit soon.

When hear for our ruby wedding anniversary with my son and and wife with all my grandchildren and there partners. No other words but discusting my husband ordered the fillet steak which came out burnt and looked like 2 burnt burgers on a plate . Me and my grandson had cabanara well don't know how to describe it my grandouter had the wild bore not none of it was touched I have never in my life had such rubbish food. They tried to tell us that my husband ordered a well done fillet and took it away then to bring it back even worse. I can understand maybe one meal not satisfactory but all meals wer burnt and when we tried to complain one of the staff got very angry and still charged us £350 for absolute rubbish they kneed to clean there griddles as that was the problem. I dont care how much food cost as it was special day for us but not even an apology. I had to come home with an empty stomach and have a sandwich my grandson went down with direa and sickness he had lasagna the only one . So before I get comeback on this yes he was the only one in are group that had lasagna. The only thing I was sorry for not doing was take pictures. Should have but it was to late then wi never caused a seen but should have . I wouldn't give this ace 1 star . If we all had the same but all had different meals The chef kneeds training and could have cooked it better my self a rip off.

We have just had a brilliant eveningvat Il Sapore. The food was absolutely delicious and the service faultless. This was our 3rd visit, but the first for our friends, who were really impressed and definitely want to return.

This lovely restaurant is set back on the High Street, Westbury on Trym. It is clean and fresh looking, with high beamed ceilings. A good menu which I feel will cater for most people. I had the Sea Bass, which was served with a variety of fresh vegetables. I will certainly go back.

We had a wonderful family milestone birthday at Il Sapore recently. I contacted them before the day to arrange dropping off a home made birthday cake, and nothing was too much trouble and they made the whole occasion very special for my wife. Cannot thank...

IL Sapore is always our first option and it never disappoints. From the starter to the dessert the quality and tastes of everything was outstanding, the fillet steak might have been the best meal I have ever been served. Service was delightful and very professional. 10/10

Great food and service and a really decent menu. We have been in Westbury for 20 years and a variety of restaurants have opened and shut in that location (which is a great spot). Many of them have been good but never enough to tempted us back in. This place is the best of the bunch - we will be regulars at this place for years now.

Had to try this new restaurant in westbury, service was attentive and generally food was very good, only one disappointment was the homemade tiramisu which although the sponge was light along with the cream it was totally bland with no alcohol taste of masala at all. I did not bring to the attention at the time as we were with friends, however I dropped a quick email to them as I felt they should be aware of a potential issue. Now almost a week later I have had no response from them which is a shame and disappointing.
