Ikoyi es un restaurante de dos estrellas y creación del chef Jeremy Chan, quien imaginó y posteriormente creó y refinó una cocina de inspiración occidental-africana "con calor y especias audaces" (subtítulo de su libro de cocina Phaidon). El menú es una opción de menú degustación de 12 - 14 platos, no es exactamente barato a 350 £, pero entonces ambas fuentes de ingredientes deben ser muy difíciles y la ejecución es impecable. La noche que fui, estaba "bajo el clima" y mis papilas gustativas no estaban al 100%. Le dije al camarero que redujera las porciones o dejara fuera algunos platos, pero el menú completo estaba servido. El caldo de pimienta de Gula al principio era muy intrigante, la pimienta de Sierra Leona proporcionaba una agradable patada picante. De los otros platos, aprecié la mayoría de la carne de res envejecida con guisantes, el salmonete rojo, ensalada de cangrejo y tonnato (esto fue excelente). el Turbot con trompeta negra. y el postre mandarín y vainilla tahitiana. La firma fumaba arroz Jollof del que solo pude probar algunos bocados, y probablemente debería volver para poder apreciar plenamente sus sabores. Tenía una botella de Inopia CdP White de Rotem y Mounir Saouma (alias Lucien Lemloine), muy bueno. El servicio era impecable, y el equipo de cocina estaba muy en evidencia en la cocina abierta durante toda la cena de 3 horas.

Esta es una aventura gastronómica ya que el menú es secreto, dicho esto, disfrutamos de cada paso de este viaje gastronómico. La habitación es pequeña pero hay mucho espacio en la mesa, la iluminación es tenue y el menú es un secreto. Disfrutamos de cada curso y pasamos mucho tiempo discutiendo lo que estábamos comiendo, los sabores, cómo se veía la comida y cómo se servían los platos. Algunas de las salsas eran exquisitas y cuando se combinaban con otras salsas en el plato eran una combinación encantadora. Difícil describir tanto de lo que comimos pero nos lo comimos todo. La comida se sirvió durante un período de 3 horas, que era perfecto. Probé la combinación de vinos que marcó algunas combinaciones interesantes, también probé algunos vinos por copa. El servicio fue atento, informativo y profesional. El restaurante es caro y los vinos tienen un fuerte margen de beneficio, pero en resumen fue una gran experiencia y relación calidad-precio. Ahorrará e irá de nuevo.

Horrible experiencia. El conserje de mi hotel llamó al restaurante para cancelar la reserva, que IKOYI confirmó la cancelación y todavía me cobraron £ 650 p / persona. Es una forma horrible de ganar dinero.

Good food but extremely expensive wine menu, quite pretentious overall. The most shocking is that I was genuinely sick that day and the day before and we tried to postpone our reservation, which they categorically refused. For me not to lose 650£ I had to go eat that never ending dinner menu with shivers and fever, which was not a nice experience.

I first visited Ikoyi in 2020. Back then, they were located in St James and it was a fairly “normal” restaurant in terms of decor, serving an a la carte menu which was reasonably priced. What was not normal though was the food. It was an outstanding meal and I knew it wouldn’t be my last visit. Fast forward 4 years and they’ve really grown up to become a serious fine dining destination in London, and one that can somehow get away with charging far more money than the likes of Core, The Ledbury, etc. The high prices definitely pushed it into special occasion territory for me, and ultimately we decided to visited when my wife was celebrating a milestone birthday. The current location is a bit random, but once you step inside it has been really nicely set up with dark, earthy tones and a fully open kitchen that faces the dining room. There are only 10 tables in the restaurant and we were lucky to get one of the 3 tables in the “front row”, giving us a great view of Jeremy and his team in the kitchen. No menu was presented until the end of the meal, but there were roughly 4 snacks, 4 starters, a main course and then 2 desserts plus the petit fours which turned out to be another individual dessert. The food was excellent, an almost entirely different menu versus my prior visit, but the unusual flavours and combinations had been maintained and there were some nice hits of spice in a few dishes, which we really enjoyed. Since I raised the topic of value for money, I now have to backtrack a bit as the quantity of food served was far higher than typical fine dining venues, perhaps even 50% more, which basically explains away the price differential. I have a big appetite and I was quite full up by the end of the meal. No bread was on offer, and it definitely wasn’t needed either! Service was another stand out aspect of the meal. Staff were so genuine and friendly, it made for a very relaxed experience. But best of all, we were served perhaps half of our courses by Jeremy Chan himself! He was such a lovely, down to earth guy and we really enjoyed our interactions with him. The bill for our meal was a punchy £986, which comprised the 2 tasting menus (£320 each), a single wine pairing (priced at £180), a couple of extra drinks and a coffee, plus service. No doubt a very expensive meal but as mentioned the portions were generous, and combining this with the differentiated menu, excellent service and comfortable setting, it did add up to be one of my favourite fine dining experiences in London, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others.

I was so excited about ikoyi London 2 Michelin star restaurant. I have been dining many Michelin star restaurants in the world but this was the first time I could not finish almost every course. African spices were so over powering the great ingredients and it was very disappointed. All the desserts were also not for me.

Il ristorante è una sorpresa. Ingresso poco appariscente che conduce a un percorso di degustazione di alta cucina. Luci soffuse per un ambiente elegante ma non eccessivamente formale che ben rappresenta il fascino silenzioso e discreto dello chef. E proprio Jeremy, per un attimo lascia la sua posizione di controllo in una cucina che è un’isola in sala, per servirci e presentarci personalmente alcune sue creazioni, con italiano perfetto che ne accentua la cortesia. Abbiamo avuto la fortuna di assaggiare per primi alcuni nuovi piatti. Che dire? Trovarne uno migliore tra gli 11 serviti e’ impossibile come scegliere tra mamma e papà.

During my three-day stay at the hotel, I unfortunately encountered a very negative experience related to a payment issue (I had to increase my credit card limit). Upon arrival, I was only able to pay for the first night, and I wasn't even given 12 hours to resolve the issue. I arrived at the hotel at 11 p.m. and, after breakfast at 8 a.m., discovered that my room had been locked out, leaving all my belongings inside. The staff insisted that I pay the remaining amount immediately, without offering even a minimum of time to resolve the issue. This situation made me feel unfairly treated, with a complete lack of consideration (almost on the verge of calling the police). I'd never had a similar experience, especially considering that the reservation was made as part of a business trip through an agency and in the name of my company, not as an individual. I consider this type of treatment of guests, with no willingness to seek solutions, to be completely unacceptable under any circumstances. This is even more disappointing considering that this is a hotel that boasts a 4-star rating. On the other hand, I would like to highlight positive aspects such as the hotel's convenient location and the breakfast, which was satisfactory, although the room was small (not renovated) and not well soundproofed.

Very good breakfast, the waitresses are adorable, the place pleasant and the food very good. Small downside on the pace of the service, the toasts and coffee were almost cold when the dishes arrived. We had an English breakfast and an avocado toast and two hot drinks, we paid €50, which seemed expensive to us despite the quality.

Steak was gorgeous as expected from Gaucho. Nice ambiance for a Weds night. Overall a very pleasant meal.
