Ikea Restaurant in Walsall

We went to design our wardrobe and buy to be delivered. There was a small wait to use a computer in the design section. But other than that, it was a great service. At times, we found it hard to use the different settings. But staff were there to help.

Needed spare parts which had to be delivered free of charge absolutely great

Used the click and collect service which was very efficient.

very bad experience with returns, they refused to take the product back even though it was new and we have the receipt,they dont even looked at it, because we did not have the original box ,the manager named Mimi served us she made us feel bad and sent us away saying that she had other customers, be careful if you buy furniture to measure before, although the company policy clearly states that we can return it without the original package, as long as the product is not used, some employees change the policy, possibly depending on nationality you are,very rude staff

Ordered and paid for a small kitchen plus fitting in Sept 2024. Spent hours chasing them up to get it fitted as a work top was the wrong size and work had stopped. Staff hang up on you, then send an email with no information, then you have to rejoin a queue for up to an hour to get through again. I eventually asked to return the kitchen. Ikea said they would only refund items that were still boxed. Another few months passed and after days of phone calls and messages to get the fitters back they offered to refund the kitchen if I removed it. I was left with no choice but to chase the fitters myself and it was eventually completed last week April 2025, though some of the finishes are below the standard anyone would expect. It's been a nightmare. will never use them again.

Got up at 3.30am to pick up a online order live in Carmarthen got to Birmingham 8.05 to be told that they had over sold put my order in 6 Days ago was 20 in stock didn’t even let me know then had a email to say that i had cancelled my order and they were going to refund me shame they didn’t send it before I arrived

Lovely place, very well displayed. From small household items to big kitchen and bedroom planning, and good quality products.

Its IKEA great ideas displayed as well as a great range of homeward and furniture. Idea for kids bedrooms as well as adults. Don't forget to stop in the Cafe for your Swedish meatballs (GF and Vg options)

Hot dogs and milkshake to fuel us before entering the main shop were very good. The cafe half way round was nice the cake selection outstanding although the coffee was stunning it was too small I would have liked a full mug

More than just a furniture store, but also a little step into Swedish culture. You can easily lose a day here looking to kit out your home, and also trying out lots of delicious foods in their various sections.

Visited many times but wanted to comment to say thank you to a lovely lady that helped me multiple times when trying to decipher the process of purchasing a curtain track and what was needed! Karen was super helpful and very knowledgeable with the products on offer and always willing to help despite me saying I wouldn’t bother her again 😅 She definitely elevated the whole IKEA shopping experience and made it that much easier, thank you!

Lovely time had shopping for lighting, cushions, plants and candles.😊 Staff were very happy to see us and helpful with our questions, having a GSH always helps. Enjoyed the new layout and the ideas in store were inspiring. Kitchen area was fantastic.... Next project maybe🤔🌼😊

typical IKEA just off junction 10 of the M6. Be prepared for a long walk as the place is huge. The store is located on a shopping park with plenty of brand and no brand chains. There’s something for everybody in the store and they will allow it to collect on the day, click and collect and have the furniture you buy delivered for an extra charge. Impressed with this branch as the staff with professional and polite. With the demise of IKEA in the UK over the Covid closures, this IKEA gets especially busy as people’s options for stores in Stoke, co Coventry, and Leicester of all closed.

Come away with things you never knew you needed.

When I asked for help, everyone was helpful. Food not very hot. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

This is my 'go to' place for certain items when I need them. As usual, this visit did not disappoint. I was able to get items I needed for a children's birthday party🎈 hosted at a venue e.g. napkins, tea towels, containers for clean and dirty cutlery, and picked up a couple of extra items that made me think 'yeah, I need this too'. As it was a weekday morning parking was fine, and I was in/out within 20 minutes! Thank you for yet another enjoyable and easy-breezy experience.

It's a modern prison with petty tactics designed to make you spend more money. I especially hate the fact that you can use the stairs to get up to the restaurant, but must wait for the lift to exit - seems to be a self defeating tactic to me. You win a few sales, while isolating those people who see through these tactics. A company with a proud history, selling out for short term gains. Please stop doing this and honour your founders. It should be a great business and experience for your customers.

IKEA is getting 5 stars just because they replace broken parts for FREE. I bought a MALM chest of drawers around 2 years ago and a drawer needed replacing as it broke due to my own fault and they replaced it free of charge and they do this as standard. Amazing customer service.

Everyone knows IKEA by now. A really cool store. Always with just going and walking around because it does inspire you to change your home. Some great things to offer or ideas to redecorate. They sell everything you’d ever need for your home

Be sure to leave an hour spare if you need to use the collection point. Staff will be busy relaxing on their phones and make excuses about their areas not being cleared like it's a valid reason to find a table.

Always love coming here for a look around and the added bonus of the cafe

Located just off the M6, this place is huge and you’ll need at least a couple of hours to wander the IKEA route around. Plenty of great ideas, and stuff is usually good value. Amazingly there were no queues at the checkouts despite the place being fully of shopping families.

I take my 90+ YO dad there every Friday for the Ikea Family Member fish and chip dinner

Don't bother going in if you are collecting anything from the collection point. It's been 1 hour so far to collect a small kitchen drawer and a front. Better off buying online or just avoiding IKEA as a whole.

Always a nice place to go, even if it's just for hotdogs and ice cream. It's like a playground for the kids , so many things to see and also you can find good ideas about improving your home setup.

IKEA Birmingham offers the same reliable quality as any other IKEA, with a good selection of home essentials. There’s plenty of parking, which makes visiting convenient. However, they don’t serve halal food, which is a downside. On the plus side, the ice cream was quite good. We bought a couple of items, and as expected, the quality was standard for IKEA. Overall, a decent shopping experience with some room for improvement in food options.

Don’t bother with the click and collect. I have to drive an hour to get to the store and booked 2-4 collection. Im here now at 3:15 and they haven’t even picked the order. Why make me book a collection slot? If I waited for the email to set off, my arrival time would be too late to collect it within the slot. Impossible to plan around a company that can’t get their act together.

Terrible not that cheap have to walk miles round it and then find the exit which is not marked well. Least the cafe is half way round.

I would like to thank all the Ikea team and security, my autistic child got lost from me for a few minutes and they found him very quickly and I would like to thank them for that and their professionalism.

The quality of the Scandinavian flagship, IKEA, has gone down significantly. Clearly the flat pack furniture has no substance. Even the store display models are badly assembled and ill fitting.

If you want to visit give Sunday a miss if possible try midweek when the kids are at school as it gets packed --yes there are nice items and well displayed in scenarios each room bathrooms bedros kitchens etc the place is wheelchair friendly- it is a massive building and takes some walking it features a cafeteria-yes some walking to be done but plenty to buy that odd small item as well as a large items there's a large car ark with disability parking and .easy. access of the M6 but as I say it gets dizzy on Sundays and you could be queueing to sin entry to the retail park 👍

Exceptional just to go for lunch with their Swedish range of salmon and prawn salad options. Of its type possibly the best Swedish restaurant in the West Midlands but probably the only one too. Also some very clever ideas for the home.

Brilliant store and could spend hours there.

Before I say anything, this is a great place to shop. BUT, as you transition from showroom to the shop area theirs touchscreens so you can order your flat pack items, But if you have a problem using the screen's people behind you get frustrated, so I left the store without purchasing bar stools. Please Please Please IKEA if you are reading this review, please have this area manned with a member of staff as there a great staff around the store to help.

Absolute joke of a company. This is the 3rd time I have placed an order with them and the 3rd time they have messed it up. Don't allow your system to arrange a delivery if you aren't going to stick to it. The communication is terrible, no notification to say the delivery wasn't coming even after I had spoken to three colleagues to ask where my delivery was. I paid for express delivery which has not been honored. The staff on the phone were useless and Ikea have made it impossible to make a complaint. Even the ombudsman they recommend doesn't help as it asks for the complaint in writing which I can't do due to them not having an email address or live chat function with an agent rather than a bot so a complaint is impossible. I am not happy in the slightest. This is a repetitive mistake so not an isolated incident. They don't think people have to wait in for these deliveries or take time out of work. Will never order from them again.

Hate going here always spend a fortune even when just browsing!stylish and well made products at sensible prices. Always go for a snack in cafe as well

I had a problem with a poang footstool on two occasions recently, they did not hesitate to replace the base twice. I have to say the customer service helpline which is at Peterborough offers a service which is 2nd to none. I was in retail management most of my life so I do have some experience. Thank you, IKEA for making this a very pleasant experience in these very difficult times. I cannot emphasise how important is to be reassured that when one does purchase a product we will receive a good response from customer service if we have a problem, unfortunately, my experience in England at this particular moment in time leaves much to be desired with most companies. IKEA set an example for all companies to follow.

So much here to make your home nice and quite good prices too but I tell u what it takes nearly 1 and a half hours approx to walk all through the two-storey levels... Bring plenty of cash/card as u can quite easily buy a lot of things whilst here.

Update: as regular customers of this particular location, we notice changes when they occur. Recently it seems that meatballs’ recipe has changed significantly. While it used to be the highlight of the visit with its hearty bites and meaty texture, now it’s more like a small Spam Ball with very watery gravy. Salmon was as good as always though. Cinnamon buns are still a must, and we had the luck to try their new-ish product Tiramisu, which is really nice. Cappuccino sadly had a burnt taste. Overall still a good visit, but need to bring back high quality food. ———- original review below ————- We love IKEA but this one was undersized in terms of parking space, and restaurant staff vs capacity. Maintenance seems to be an ongoing issue too. Multiple coffee machines are Out of Service continuously at the restaurant, and Bistro equipment need attention too. Luckily products save the day!

Very very busy, car park full (cars following people to get a space). Unfortunately ruins the experience if the place is absolutely rammed

So many floors, so many options. Lift for disabled and pushchairs. You will end up all day there lol

Needs to be better laid out . We visited to buy a rug , hadn't been for 4 years , it's like a maze to navigate round , eventually found the rugs then a trolley, needed to ask the way out , got to the elevator but trolley not allowed , so I carried the large rolled up rug on my shoulder ( I am 69 ) after another 15 minutes and nearly knocking out a few people we made it to the check out . The products are really good but it's a nightmare to navigate.

Candles carpets and containers all for the right price.

IKEA is a strange place,you walk in there and immediately want to sit down or sleep in one of the show rooms,a real beauty place....I just love how clean it is constantly and the way the staff are always ready to help but always leave you alone until they are needed-refreshing.
