Icestone Gelato in Cheshire West and Chester

Called in after a meal elsewhere. The selections on offer are extensive. Greeted with a smile by both the staff working and they didn't rush us. Made the custard up fresh whilst we were there and boxed the desserts up nicely for us to take and eat at the hotel. Large selection of ice cream. Everything we had was spot on.

Went here for some dessert to take away after a meal. Upon entering, there is a bit of a strong unpleasant dairy smell which is a bit off-putting. Despite this, the ice cream here is very nice and there's a decent selection. I can't speak on any of the other desserts, as there was a lot to choose from, but the ice-cream was lovely, especially the strawberry cheesecake flavour. Only other thing, it feels a bit understaffed. We were waiting a while even though there was only two people in front of us, it was just rather a slow process.

Stopped here for dessert after a main meal somewhere else. Excellent selection of gelatos, crepes, waffles, and cookie doughs. I had the Banoffee waffle which was of decent quality and freshly cooked. My wife had the choc chip cookie dough and she found it to be excellent. Would stop here again if in the area.

Loved it, tasted gorgeous!!! Will 100% go again.... do recommend quick service and very kind staff members. Lovely environment and decent prices!!

Visited here on a Sunday when other shops were closing. Very friendly staff and wonderful cheesecake and very good prices! Would definitely return!

Visité esta noche con mi hijo pequeño. El lugar estaba lleno, muy desordenado y el personal estaba desorganizado y caótico. Eso está bien y puedo soportarlo. Pero la única estrella es por el exceso de carga. Pedimos un trozo de tarta (3.99) con una dosis de helado para mí y dos dosis de helado para mi hijo. El caballero con la caja registradora totalizó esto hasta casi 14 y luego lo dividió a la mitad para el plan de comer fuera de casa. Es cierto que solo nos costó un poco menos de 7, pero parece que estaban cobrando de más para explotar el esquema. Debería haberlos desafiado, pero fue tan caótico y se apresuró a entrar que no lo resolví correctamente hasta llegar a casa.

Our food was delicious and came quickly. It was very good value for money as you got loads! Definitely worth a visit!

Nos detuvimos en un desierto a altas horas de la noche después de ver Icestone al azar, ya que no habíamos estado en Chester antes y estamos muy contentos de haberlo visto. Gran ambiente, gran selección y el personal era amable. Tuve el helado de bubblegum millones y mi prometido tomó un gofre Banoffee Nutella, ¡ambos fueron fantásticos! El helado tenía un gran sabor y el helado era agradable y crema, sin fragmentos helados y el gofre era súper ligero y esponjoso, ¡ojalá tuviéramos Icestone aquí en Dorset!

Cuando llegamos, no estaba lleno, pero se puso más concurrido mientras esperábamos, sin embargo, esperamos más de 20 minutos por dos bolas de helado cada uno. Uno de los miembros del personal estaba hablando por teléfono mientras varios clientes esperaban. Volvería pero solo para llevar ya que el servicio era lento.

I ordered from this place for delivery and every-time I order they always forget an item or send wrong orders. Beyond a joke now. Anyone from Chester don’t bother.

Pedí el helado saludable y la masa de galleta de Nutella y fresas con helado de vainilla. Tomé un bocado rápido del helado de vainilla de mi novio y mientras él estaba en el baño y yo pensé oh, eso sabe raro, como producto de limpieza. No se lo mencioné a mi novio porque tengo un fuerte sentido del olfato y el gusto, así que pensé que tal vez estaba siendo raro. Se sentó y comenzó a comer, hizo un comentario de que algo parecía mal. Called here after travelling from Parkgate in search of Ice Cream, as the majority of places in Parkgate i.e. the Nichols Ice Cream parlour closed at 5pm, and as it was just after 5pm at the time, my partner and I decided to go a little further in our search.We were so delighted, after the whole experience, that we did come to this establishment.Upon entering, you're immediately greeted with a large selection of tasty Gelato Ice creams, with mouth-watering flavours behind the long curved display. The trouble is, we had so much choice, it was hard for us to pick and choose our flavours upon deciding on how many scoops we were to have. Although you can also choose to have a cone, but we opted for a tub.There is the option of gluten-free cones, Ice-creams, and cakes, all of which are very reasonably priced for the city centre and on-par with other ice cream parlours local to us in our area.The service we received was excellent, as you're deliberately given the time you need to choose any goods you want in a non-pushy manner, which we certainly appreciated. Each individual order was dealt with one by one and with such care and time, that really made it feel you were given the personal touch.The server that dealt with us, was very knowledgable about all of the products, leading us to believe he was maybe the owner of the business or otherwise passionate about the customer experience.There are plenty of booths and seating areas inside the establishment, and as we were sitting at Table 5, it gave us a good view of the varieties of cakes also available, which we did partake in.The atmosphere was good, lighting wasn't too heavy, the music was soft, and it really made it feel so relaxed, that I wished I could have spent hours in this place... considering this business closes at 11pm, we actually could have. Even though the parlour was relatively quiet for patrons inside, being around tea-time, the on-line orders seemed to be flowing in keeping the workers busy throughout which can only be a mark of the quality and confidence in this particular parlour. Despite this, we finally decided after finishing our ice creams, to indulge in a super offer they have with the "piece of cake and a hot drink for £3.99".The cakes are plentiful, gluten-free available, colourful and of a decent amount and size portion. Beautifully presented when brought to the table, and so very, very tasty, despite at this point our eyes being bigger than our stomachs we reluctantly weren't able to finish all but a few bites.We would always recommend a visit here if in the immediate vicinity or even live nearby if you want to use the online ordering through "Just Eat" services.Thoroughly enjoyed everything here, and wouldn't hesitate to come back, as there still plenty more varieties of Ice Creams, AND cakes, to try!!Many many thanks, and see you again soon.

My daughter and her cousin ( young teenagers) came and ordered a dessert between them as it was expensive for them and they were unsure what to have. They asked for a glass of water and were told they couldn’t have any, only buy water they sold, that’s just mean and money making. We will certainly ensure our friends and family know not to bother. It’s suppose to be a nice experience, with friendly customer service, which is missing.

Been this place several times & ive really enjoyed it everytime. I’ve been a few places around chester & this is the best one I’ve been too. Massive selection. It’s always clean. The staff are always nice & friendly.

I came here with my partner the other day and the desserts were just delicious, would highly recommend. The staff are so friendly and kind very helpful, so many options, will definitely be returning!

Había escuchado críticas brillantes pero me quedé bastante decepcionado.Pedí un pastel de lava, no te molestes, es un bloque duro de pastel de chocolate seco, nada de "lava".Masa de galletas con brownies en la parte superior, seré sincero, la masa de galletas de Pizza Hut es IRREAL, pero esta no cortó la mostaza.Es una pena, ya que me encantan los postres y esperaba que este fuera un punto caliente en el futuro para mí.

My husband totally loved the Ferraro rocher cheese cake and sticky toffee pudding ice cream and cup of tea he had 14 September excellent .

i ordered a delivery from ice stone gelato. they gave no ice cream even though i paid for it. the food was disgraceful and went straight into the bin. it was cold and the waffle looked like it was somebodyelses left overs. i was told i would get a refund if i phone “just eat” customer service. just eat asked me to ring ice stone to get refund as i paid in cash. the manager of ice stone said hes not giving me a refund and was very unprofessional and thereafter put the phone down mid conversation. if your looking to waste money ice stone is the place to go.

Visited here for a few hours before going home from Criccieth - so many lovely desserts to choose from. I had the peanut butter slack - it was a waffle covered with ice cream, cream and melted chocolate, yum yum yum.

Myself and my boyfriend are semi regular visitors to this store. My boyfriend often likes to try the flavours before he buys as there is a large range and likes to get different flavours each time. There is usually no issues with this however when my boyfriend asked this time the manager of the store proceeded to shout in his face in an intimating manner. This was ridiculously rude. A number of other customers in the store ahead of us had also tried the flavours and weren’t spoken to so rudely. We always buy the flavours he tries. I am disappointed and annoyed at the way we have been spoken to and I doubt we will be returning to the store, we will find an ice cream shop with friendly management in Chester.

Cakes and Sundays were requested for delivery. First order had to be edited online as restaurant could not make edits.

Nice gelato, not the fastest service but a good choice of flavours and open late most nights, four pots with three flavours in each came to about £19.

This place is ok until you have a problem and then the woefully under trained staff treat you like dog muck on their shoe. Apparently the manager only comes in when the place is closed and the young lads they employ really couldn't care less about providing good service to customers. Me and my family are regulars here but will no longer be giving them our business.

I’ve had many authentic Italian ice creams due to half my family living in Italy, so it was nice to find a good one last weekend in Chester. Plenty of flavours to cater for all tastes, and extra toppings available on request. They even do take out tubs and custom mixes on request. Worth a visit.

This is a great little ice cream place that does the most amazing crepes, waffles and cookie dough. It also has a mesmerising array of cakes available - everything from bubble gum and Ferrero Rocher cakes to luscious cream cakes and buns. Far too tempting! At the front of the shop is the ice cream array - again a huge variety of flavours on offer.Choose from a cone or ice cream dish to truly decadent milkshakes. There is seating room inside and outside or you can order to take away. I arrived with 15 teenagers one Saturday afternoon and was amazed to be able to get seated all together at the back of the shop. We put in a large, complicated order of desserts and drinks and I couldn't believe how fast and efficient the service was. The staff were absolutely terrific - so friendly and accommodating and just nailed it for us that day. I have to say also the prices here are very reasonable for the high quality of food. I highly recommend Icestone Gelato!

My and my boyfriend had a cone of ice cream each, and both were so tasteless! I was expecting creamy and full of flavour but not what we got! Would not come again!

As the title suggests: I've enjoyed many a dessert here and much of them have been quite nice. Some do have a taste of just coming out the freezer, but they fill a hole. Better to recommend the (quite expensive) ice creams (during the summer) than the desserts, and I'd recommend going for a takeaway than staying in, simply because inside... it ain't the cleanest place in the land.

Stopped here for a snack. Right on a major street in tourist area. Had a Creamy Hazelnut & Ferraro Rocher gelato and a Peanut Butter Stack pastry to go. Was very good.

It was a nice evening and we spotted this small ice cream shop next door to the Nandos so we went in for 2 small cones. There were 4 staff behind the counter who all appeared to be very busy doing something and a guy wandering about keeping an eye on things. After waiting for 3-4 minutes he eventually came over and took our order for 2 small cones. Now comes the good bit - a scoup of ice-cream is £2.75 THEN they charge you 50p for the cone, so the price of each was £3.25 or £6.50 for two!!!!! Where do they get the idea that £3.25 is good value for a small cone? Anyway, we paid and waited, and waited, and waited and waited and eventually one of the girls looked at the till receipt he had left on the back counter and proceeded to fill our order. She didn't appear to know where the exact flavours were, so too a while to produce what were very small cones with a very small amount of ice cream in each. It tasted good but was NOT WORTH THE WAIT and DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE PRICE! Be warned go elsewhere, get better service and pay less.

Me and my girlfriend went out to get some ice cream as we were craving it , we ordered and took a seat , which was a MR Brown Sunday and a cookie dough with Nutella and strawberries , 15 minutes later mine came out and I assumed hers would follow , half way through eating mine I though hold on where is hers? I had finished my dessert and my girlfriends was nowhere to be seen , I asked the guy at the counter where it was and because I had finished could we have it in a take out box, he said no problem at all , 5 minutes later another employee come to our table and said oh sorry we have already put the cookie dough in the pan is it ok to serve it to you in that , we were just sick of waiting so agreed to just get the food , he brought it over and it wasn’t even our food! It was a cookie dough with white chocolate chip which was for the couple on the table behind us , another 10 minutes passed and he brought us one out in a take out bag and said he was sorry it was all in the bag so we left , I told my girlfriend just to check it before we get in the car , we opened the box and it just had chocolate sauce ,no strawberries , so we had to go back into the store and get this sorted, the experience we had was one of the worst I’ve experienced and the desert my girlfriend had also looked like it had been thrown at the wall before serving it to her, mistake after mistake and because of this , it has put us off ever going back

Me and my friends went here for a nice dessert. The staff was very kind and served us quickly. The food was tasty and prepared very quickly yet it was quite quality.

I would consider myself a bit of a dessert restaurant connoisseur but in all honesty i feel that icestone gelato aren’t really to my taste as I have been to the one in Manchester and Liverpool and feel that there are better places to go. We went in two days ago and the place was a bit busy and on first impression the restaurant is very cramp and the ceiling is very low and tables are tight, on-top of that there were two massive fans which were blowing out hot air. There was also only one toilet for both male and female at the back of the restaurant near the storeroom and the back kitchen area with freezers which could of done with doors as I don’t really expect to be seeing boxes of coke bottles and freezer units.

Queues going in two directions and no one in particular taking orders coupled with long delays made for a pretty poor customer experience. Food was ok but not particularly great value

Husband and I nipped in for gelato milkshakes. The flavours were delicious but a large was definitely not what I would call large - too small. And it was so watery. It was like they'd put half a spoon of gelato mixed with milk. Not the thick creamy milkshake I was expecting.

We called in one evening on the way back to our hotel. It was nice to find the place still open. We just wanted a cone each to eat inside and the choice of flavours was good.We enjoyed the gelato. Prices were quite high we thought and the service was okay.

Was super excited to get some dessert but staff seemed very confused and uninviting. Ice cream and waffle was okay but not worth the unusual service. I’d suggest a re-think of training.

Sooooo gutted. Had a little weekend away looked got a desert on just eat as was craving something sweet back in our hotel room. We ordered 2 cheesecakes and a scoop of vanilla ice cream which came to £15 but hey ho we was away. We ordered from here as it is a 6min drive from our hotel. It took one hour and a half for our ordered to get here. At this point I was asleep. The ice cream was totally melted (I could understand this but not justified as only down the road) also was wrong Cherry and came with a cone which they charged for. The 2 cheesecakes tasted as though they had been sat in the shelf for a week or so.....just a big no no from us. Very upsetting. ☹️☹️

Been a few times now. The food was good and indulgent with a very wide choice for any sweet tooth, at a reasonable price. The cookie dough is my favourite so far. Previous visits have had a friendly welcome. Today the service was the kind you hear about on TripAdvisor but never really believe. Chap behind the counter gave no welcome or indication of how things worked and said nothing more than he needed to. Service was fast and the cake was OK (not that he asked) but there was nobody else in. Unsurprising, really, considering the door was propped open on a January afternoon and the place was freezing. Maybe the ice cream freezer had broken and they had to improvise. With three jackets on I had to leave after 20 minutes. Might return again in summer and hope this chap has long departed!

Meeting up with friends before visiting Storyhouse, our usual haunt was busy, no tables and big queues. I popped into IceStone Gelato to order a coffee and wait. Surprisingly it was so quiet, possibly due to the sale of ice cream being their priority. However they do an amazing line in cake and I was soon drooling. Service was extremely friendly and faultless. Nothing was too much trouble and as soon as my friends arrived we were soon ordering more drinks with the amazingly fab special offer that meant we paid for cake but coffee came free! Who doesn’t love a bargain? It might not be hip or trendy offering specialist flavours but if you’re looking (during cooler months) for somewhere offering service with a smile, great value and a quiet place to chat or even take your kids..... this could well fit the bill.

I was served by abbey, she was very polite and very accommodating making sure I had everything I needed, the crepe was amazing and I came back and had the best waffle I’ve had. The bananas were fresh and it came with whipped cream. I liked the relaxed atmosphere and will be back again.

Ordered through deliveroo and while the cookie dough ended up not being to my liking particularly I can say it was a good sized portion, the gelato was lovely and 3 scoops was a good amount, would certainly be interested in trying the waffles and other flavours of gelato next

I took my family here for a stop off while we were walking the city walls. Ordered the hot drink and cake for £3.95. Brilliant deal!! Hot chocolates and coffees were really nice and the cakes were tasty if not a bit too sweet. No need for the extra choc drizzle on the plates as they were fine as they were. Vanilla ice cream was delicious. Really lovely staff. They have an excellent range of choice from cakes and waffles to ice cream or pancakes. We worth a trip

This place has recently appeared on Deliveroo and it's been very well used in our household. Top gelato, the cherry in particular is beautiful. Great waffles, well cooked with generous toppings. CG creations are also fab. We find this to be the best desserts available for delivery in Chester due to the variety of choices available and the quality of each item tired so far.

We called in today 13th September 2018.we ordered cappuccino and a slice of cake, lot's to choose from. We were amazed when it arrived, large slice of cake cream and lot's of sauce. An absolute bargain for only £3.95 each. The young lady who served us was really nice very polite and friendly. We will definitely be visiting again very soon, I would recommend it to everyone. Thank you .

This Icestone is extremely good, I look forward to going there every time I go to Chester. The staff are Pleasant, the decoration is well done and the deserts are awesome!

Really disappointed to have to leave this review as the food is always nice. We went today me, my husband, my son and his friend both are 6yrs old. When we went in it was quiet only 2 other families who had been served. We got given menus but weren't told to come to the till and order. We ordered 3 pancakes 2 with ice cream and a waffle 1 tea and some bottled water.

Visited this place after a long walk around Chester and decided the waffles and crepes sounded amazing. Went in and only 2 customers in. When i went to order at counter one of the 2 females working there walked off while the other had her back to me clearly on whats app on her phone. She then proceeded to walk off (towards staff area i can only assume) without acknowledging me! My boyfriend and i almost walked out then and there. Within moments the previous girl came up and took our order. Food was ok but my drink was forgotten and i had to ask for it. The crepe was apparently hard when my boyfriend started to eat it. Think customer service needs working on and coming from someone who works in catering industry i noticed a few basic hygiene issues too. Hope this was a one off bad day as most reviews ive read have been positive.

Ice cream here is lovely and they have huge portions but while i was there i noticed two girls came in and when they were by the till, a rude manager/server was being quite unhelpful to a seemingly new employee, who had trouble working the till and scooping ice cream, but she was reluctant to help him and seemed very moody. Still gave a high rating as the ice cream was great, but the rudeness made me quite uncomfortable.

Great tasty selection, over the last few weekends in Chester we have stumbled upon this place & partaken in a few of their frozen delights at the time of day when you should be thinking of getting a Kebab .... however this was during the heatwave of 2018 and the cold treat during a hot muggy evening was a welcoming chill down ...

The range of flavours and the excellent service from Maria and her team really make this our must-have treat stop in the city centre, living in Chester its always out stop after a nice long walk.

This is a must visit place, so much choice of ice cream, desserts and all delicious. Staff so friendly with excellent service Cannot wait to visit again.

Having eaten at Picanha by Fazenda just round the corner, we decided we were far too full for pudding and left in search of a taxi in Bridge Street. Luckily we came across this ice cream parlour, suddenly the feeling we couldn’t eat another thing left us and we finished our evening with a couple of great ice creams served by two lovely people. A perfect end to a lovely day. We will return, we love ice cream and this place serves a great variety as well as far too many tempting cakes. The whole place was spotless and they also served the ice cream in cones or tubs, we had ours in tubs with clean scoops to eat it. What could be unhygienic about that, not cheap rubbish but good value, good quality ice cream, ask for advice and you will be given genuine help....you will not be let down. Treat yourself!....just don’t bring too many family members with you, you will be bankrupt! The staff were lovely too, just enjoy the experience.

My stepdaughter met up with us on a day trip to Chester. It was my birthday so we had a bit of retail therapy and lunch out. However, what I didn't know, was I had a treat. A visit to Icestone Gelato. I was like a child in a sweet shop! So much choice of different ice cream flavours. The staff were great and patient as I took time to choose. The result was the most delicious ice cream I've had in years. Well recommend a visit.

So basically the pistachio flavour was awful and Gino’s is better, although he wafer was a cute addition x

Not happy at all. The ice cream is not very tasty at all and yet it is very expensive. It is very far away from the advertised traditional Italian ice cream and I doubt it is hand made. The service is very poor as well. There were four of us and we were served by two ladies. The first put gloves on and did everything perfectly and cleanly. The second, however, did not put gloves on and proceeded to rub her nose before serving my wife's ice cream and touching the ice cream with her hands in the process ...

Lets start with an almost positive point the ice cream it was good quality but limited choices.

Visited this afternoon. It’s okay. Not bad. Ice cream was pretty boring. Much prefer Ginos Gelato just round the corner. Quite pricey for what you get.

Brought my mum and 8year old here on Sunday. They had lots of amazing flavours we went for two tubs with two scoops each. Red velvet and Snickers, lemon& lime and passion fruit cheese cake. My mum went for a cone with natural yogurt and honeycomb. They were all tasty and delious. We all very much enjoyed them. It cost just over 11 pound. The girls were very helpful and attentive to my mum while she decided on her flavour we were allowed to sample before we commited just in case which was great. You need to come here. Only downside no aircon in an incredibly hot day.... and I recommend outside seating too.
