ICE in St Edmundsbury

As the title says this was our first time here and I wasn’t disappointed. We chose to sit inside and although not full still had a lovely chilled atmosphere. I had the ICE burger which i have to say was superb, full of flavour and a decent price. My friend had the all day breakfast which again was top quality. We had a pot of tea and a Diet Coke with the bill being £35 I recommend a visit, you won’t be disappointed.

This place is cool! Absolutely love the interior and the outside seating area. Staff were helpful and friendly. Food was gorgeous. Highly recommend. This is a real gem.

Quirky restaurant. Super friendly and attentive servers. Mains nice and didn’t have to wait too long for them to arrive. I’m not a big fan of triple cooked chips but thats just my own personal view and I should have chosen an alternative. Delicious desserts.

Had the most fabulous experience at the ICE Lunch bar (Evening). Don’t be fooled by the location, once you park you are in a mini oasis and inside is unpretentious and downright comfortable. Super friendly hosts…and delicious drinks. Try the Lemon, or spiced Mojito which are both punchy. The No-mojito was also carefully concocted and a great driver drink.. Walking through to the lunch bar you have no idea what awaits but upon arrival, the greeting from John and his head chef made you feel right at home in your own kitchen (mine is not as fancy!). The food was divine and with each course you thought that’s my favourite..but turns out everything was! The explanation of the ingredients and methods to prepare, cook and garnish kept your attention through the evening as well as tingling all your taste buds. This is an experience not to be missed!! Can’t wait to come for brunch or dinner (or anything)!! How lucky to have this restaurant close by. A must!!

Keen to experience this place, on arrival not disappointed lovely friendly staff and cool atmosphere. However the food was big let down. Calamari was covered in thick greasy batter with thin stringy rubber band in the middle. Garlic sauce tasteless. Chicken burger was Gristly thighs and one slice of lettuce, pickles, sauces not included.Boring and with odd smell and taste. Chips again greasy and over cooked. Looking at other food delivered all the fried stuff was dark and thick with batter. Would not revisit.

Not been to Ice for a while but a rare free Saturday evening meant time for a re visit. We really enjoyed our evening , service was friendly and I was impressed around the checking for my gluten intolerance throughout the meal . The food was banging - all courses really well presented and absolutely delicious. Also had cocktails which were lovely . I really love everything about Ice and we are lucky to have it on our doorstep .

Fab food and lovey environment. Don’t be scared of lorry park. It’s lively when you get there! Recommend bean burger and chips

Excellent food, we all enjoyed brunch with plenty of choice on the menu. Service was great with a nice atmosphere. I recommend that you book in advance.

This time for breakfast! What a treat. My husband had the full English; you could tell just by looking at the plate of food that top notch ingredients were used. I had the scrambled egg with avocado on sourdough - again, food was fresh and so delicious. The restaurant is run so smoothly and with little fuss - this is our new go to breakfast venue - it got busy later on with people that had booked so we were lucky to get a table

We visited here on a Sunday morning for brunch. The menu reads as indulgent, and the food lived up to this! We enjoyed mellow and well crafted coffees while we waited for our food. The toddler food came out almost instantly, and this distracted our little one away from the colouring in pencils that we were kindly provided with on arrival. Our toddler loved the pancakes! We ordered the sourdough with smoked salmon & scrambled egg as well as the Full English, requested to be served with crispy bacon. The Full English is the best that I have had from memory. It is a dish that is often poorly delivered by restaurants, who slap together greasy ingredients with little care. ICE cooked every element to perfection, and they served it on a warm & beautiful plate - fantastic! The only reason for the 4 was because of the front of house. The service was slightly attentive, but there were moments where it could have been warmer. The people coming to the table changed regularly, ordering an additional drink when they thought we were wrapping up seemed to be an issue, and the interaction when placing the order wasn’t 100% smooth as the order had to be clarified a couple of times. All in all - a lovely spot, great for families, and perfect for a Sunday brunch!

We visited at 1230 on 13th January 2024. We were a party of 4 (2 couples) and were super excited to go to ICE. We found it by looking for somewhere to meet for lunch on the internet, and it looked really cool. The nachos for starters were poor, awful cheese sauce on the plate, soggy nachos and only the pulled pork saved it. the main courses were sirloin, open steak sandwich and two chicken burgers. The steak on the steak sandwich was undercooked compared to what was asked for, the sirloin was cold and badly cooked. One of the chicken burgers was cold (and so it didn't even get eaten) and my husband's chicken in his burger was RAW! When we told the waitress, she argued that because thigh meat is used in the burgers it would be a different colour... And eventually reluctantly took it back... Returning with 'another' which was as cold as mine. This was topped off by a Eaton mess sundae which had 1 tiny piece of weird meringue ice cream and FROZEN raspberries. We were so disappointed because we were really excited to go, and to be fair it's a nice place. But the food and the service were so bad we will never go back!

Situated in the middle of a small industrial estate, this restaurant is unpretentious but what a find. An excellent full English breakfast, beautifully presented and great friendly service. Eggs of your choice, black pudding, the best ever hash browns, streaky bacon, sausages, mushroom, vine tomatoes and wonderful sourdough toast. What a feast. My wife had scrambled eggs on sourdough toast with smoked salmon and the same wonderful hash browns.

We looked on Google for somewhere near & new to go for brunch and came across the ICE restaurant ... and what a great find this was! We loved the decor and atmosphere. The staff was friendly and efficient. I ordered the ICE Full English (replacing the black pudding with avocado), and my wife had a pancake stack. We loved the food and thought the prices were reasonable. The fact that it was busy had no impact on the service and the wait time - the service was great, and we did not wait long for our coffees and food. These guys know how to run a restaurant for sure! Thank you, and we'll see you again soon!

First time at ICE and cannot wait to return. The Bao buns with pulled pork and hoisin sauce were simply outstanding. The chicken burger with coleslaw and hot sauce was fab - love that there isn't a brioche bun in sight - just a good old fashioned burger bap with delicious fries. Staff were brilliant and the restaurant itself industrial in style and quirky.

Delicious breakfast and such a great place to catch up with friends, relaxed friendly atmosphere with great customer service. The front of house team couldn’t have been more accommodating and the food was that good we have already booked for October.

I booked a table for friends and I to attend a comedy night complete with pre comedy night food. The venue is beautiful, welcoming, quirky, and fun. On arrival we were seated at a table for 6 on hard metal chairs - most uncomfortable, especially so for those of us with a slightly larger disposition. We didn't bring this to the attention of anyone as aside from 4 tall seats at a tall table, the venue appeared to be sold out. We placed our orders for drinks, and food, the cocktails - delicious and appeasing to the eye. The main meals, fab presentation and great taste (though I am unsure why the 2 burger meal offer isn't valid on a Thursday as advertised - because of an event I guess, all the same somewhat misleading). We had taken the liberty of looking at the menu online prior to attending and were disappointed to find that the menu provided was a limited one due to the event and not the menu that we had perused on their website. The desserts. The ice cream sundaes were lovely.... The jam roly poly looked amazing. The cherry crumble with tonka bean gelato - interesting.... A lot of crumble to a little gelato ratio. The crumble, tarte, dry, and inedible, especially so once the gelato had been eaten, leaving a thick film in the mouth.... Not at all nice considering it came highly recommended. 2 ordered, 2 returned barely eaten. We were not checked on during the desserts and the amount of crumble returned to the kitchen spoke volumes though no one said anything to us at the time. I provided the restaurant with feedback and have been somewhat dismayed at their response. Any thoughts that I may have had at revisiting all diminished. The comedy night itself was really good fun, and as a first visit to this particular venue, aside from the desserts and uncomfortable chairs, we had fun. The chairs and desserts added to the laughter albeit at a cost to ourselves....

You wouldn't know this place was there unless you’ve been told. Little gem:) great food, reasonably priced, great staff… will be back.

I went to Ice cafe with my mum and daughter as a treat at lunchtime today. The food (burgers) was nice enough, if a little greasy, and our waiter was good. However, towards the end of her meal my mum found a hair in her food; it was a different length and colour to any of ours. She very calmly left the rest of her food and approached a member of staff to tell them about it. She was offered more food which was a nice gesture, but she didn't need another meal as she had eaten approx 3/4 of the original meal, we were also short on time. In the end we were given a complimentary chocolate brownie to take away, ok but I don't think it made up for the issue. It's a shame that a generally good restaurant let it's self down from a hygiene and then customer service perspective.

Great service, such a friendly staff. And the food is absolutely amazing. Portions are just the right size so you don’t feel like you can’t breath after a meal.

Just back from brunch, all had the full English, wonderful plate full, local ingredients, cooked to perfection. Friendly, attentive waiting staff. Quick service from the kitchen, our tummies are stuffed. Keep up the good work, we'll be back!

Love the place and eaten here a few times (nice treat) but it’s seems the time we have to wait for our orders to be taken and then for both the food and drinks to be deprived is ever increasing. The staff seem very nice and helpful but without any urgency, furthermore the food (three breakfasts) has definitely dropped in terms of quality, such a shame!

A hidden gem. We both had an English breakfast which was delicious and large! The service was fabulous, customer service from the young staff was lovely to see. We will definitely return. Looks like the monthly comedy nights are popular too!
