Iberica Farringdon in Islington

We are from Australia. Food very average, service rude and non existent. Would not recommend or go back again.

Simply outstanding, went there for a quick business lunch and wished I could have just stayed for a few Tapas more (well and a second bottle of red of course). The roasted sweet potato as well as the beef tomato with salmorejo were incredible.

The food was average at best and when the final bill came, it made it overpriced for what it was. Not to mention being asked to leave while we were still grazing. I would have expected an “authentic tapas restaurant” to remain open a little later. I also asked one of the waitresses for an ice cube, which she refused and told me they don’t have any while walking off in a sassy attitude. For a central London restaurant, brazen enough to charge X-amount for average food, I found that hard to believe. However, our dedicated waitress who served us throughout most of the evening was absolutely wonderful and the only reason why I’m not giving this place less stars.

The best spanish food for those away from Spain in a beautiful place!

Came here to celebrate my birthday and couldn't be happier. Food was simply delicious, especially the olives (best I've ever had) and the polpo and patatas braves!! I could have a million of those pan con tomate. For dessert, the flan was simply divine. But really, everything was delicious. Staff was great and the pre-ordering system allows you to come to your table with some food already served. I'll probably come back here many many times and if you are in London you can't go much better than this for the value!

Expensive but very good food and service

Fantastic evening, beautiful food, the kitchen was a little slow but we didn’t even need to say anything and we were automatically given a discount for the wait. Really fantastic restaurant, regardless of the wait the food was incredible and we will visit again!

Iberica used to be one of my top three favourite restaurants in London. I came here to celebrate something special and when my family came to visit. After a ten-year break I returned tonight and I have to sadly give it very few stars. We waited a long time for some of our tapas. We had to chase both water and wine a couple of times. The padron peppers were just not there - either not well cooked or not particularly fresh. The ham was OK but the quality I remembered so fondly is gone from both food and service. The kids had the £9 kids meal which was fairly priced on paper, but when it came turned out to be three prawns, two small croquettes, a handful of chips and three sauce pots. We paid about £112 in total for four tapas, two £9 kids meals, one glass of red wine and what must have been a very expensive bottle of water. What happened, Iberica?

The food was nice, the service fast, but for us the price was a bit steep for what it was.

This Iberica has been our local go to for more than 10 years. Always enjoyed the food and ambiance. Tonight I was blown away by the service. I made a silly mistake with the bill, which they could have pretended was not fixable. On the contrary, the customer service was 12 out of 10 because GM made sure all was fixed and apologised for the inconvenience. No wonder the restaurant has withstood the test of time. We will make sure we keep coming back for 10 more years!

Belle epoque Spanish restaurant: a good option for an elegant dinner. My friend and I decided to try out this place as near the farrington station. The Italian lady Marta gave us a warm welcome. We asked about the list of wine and she was helpful. She had the porkribs and I went for tapas getting different small plates. The food came fast and tasty. We'll be definitely coming back. High quality tapas - took 5 items, for two people and it was the perfect amount. The chorizo lollipop were especially good, and the pork rib special and twice cooked lamb were great too.

Very disappointing experience. We have been coming here once a year over the last 5-6, and the quality has been slowly but surely going down. From being charged £4.95 for water when we had clearly said 'tap water' (we also got the £49 wine bottle...), to the 3 poxy strips of bread (see picture) with the sobrasada, the tiny suckling pig strip for £25, or the fact that our waitress told us bread with tomato was not available yet the long table next to us got several plates as apparently 'they had prebooked' (??!???!?!), and finally, the 12.5% service charge when our waitress did not once come over to ask how our meal was, and paid very little attention to us. The paella was OK, the patatas bravas were correct, and that was that. Never again.

This is a Spanish-style wine bar where you can eat. One plate is a generous portion for Japanese people, and even if you're not that many people, you'll be able to enjoy a lot of dishes. In addition to standard items like prosciutto and omelettes, there are menu items with a twist. In addition, you can order the doneness of the omelet, and the raw ham was cut a little thicker.

Went here twice in one week. Food is very good. I wish they have more options of vegetables on the menu though.

Food was cold, service below average (missing plates we ordered but still charged on receipt, could not hear waiter when bringing food, did not seem to care when we complained), and expensive for basic tapas food. Very disappointed.

Really very nice. Food and drink were all very nice, special shout out for the fried chorizo lollipops, which I think took the crown. There’s a kids menu with a good selection of the more ‘kid friendly’ dishes, which our son loved. Service was very good, food came out quickly but you’re left plenty of time to enjoy.

I loved this place! I recommend the black rice with prawns - to die for. Also the rice pudding - delicious. Also loved the toasted bread with tomato. Calamari tapas also good. Just a side note for those not used to British restaurants: this is not a quiet one. So maybe not the best place for a first date, because of the noise and also the erotic nude sketches on the wall.

Didn't eat, so I can't comment on the food, but the bar staff were great. Special thanks to Jhoe for some great Latino hospitality! Lovely pink cava and great service.

They don't do the chicken paella anymore :/ but the seafood one was decent

Had delicious food and wine here. Honestly the best croquetas and patas baravas ever. Better than the nicest places in Spain even! The restaurant was really cold and at times it was noticeable that the service wasn’t great. But would definitely come back to one of the restaurants. Maybe when it’s warmer or maybe it was a fluke.

popped in and had dinner at the bar. nice atmosphere and the barman was great,opening a delightful garnache for wine by the glass. the aubergine dish was amazing. suckling big was dull.

The kitchen closes at 3 pm, but we arrived at 2:40 pm, ordered our food, which arrived quickly and was delicious. The staff and the chef were super kind. We wanted to reorder one of our dishes, and they made an exception for us even though the kitchen had already closed.

We visited iberica spontaneously, but we were accommodated by the welcoming front of house! We sat at the bar and we ordered a couple of tapas wine and a cocktail. The guy at the bar who served as was very sweet, and kind! The food was amazing, we had the pig shortbreads (just so tasty), the amazing croquettes, and the toasted bread with tomatoes which was nice. I had a glass of Licis 2015 Mencia. It was elegant, soft after notes, earthy and with a hint of lavender…easy to drink. would come back!

We stayed nearby on a recent trip to London and ended up going to Iberica twice for dinner. Fantastic atmosphere, delicious food, and well worth the visit. You’ve got to try the croquetas! Great place for couples, small group, or large group.

A very authentic Spanish place located in Farringdon. We had to book in advance to secure our table, although it wasn’t really crowded when we had our lunch there. We enjoyed a couple of classic Spanish dishes, which were totally worth it. My only comment is that the toilets weren't very clean and tidy, and I didn't really like that. They have another branches in central London, you can search for them.

We stopped in here on a whim as it was cold late and one of the few places with a restroom. We were treated to some of the best tapas we have had. There was some up selling being done by staff but it wasn't over the top. Would go again for a special occasion but was a bit expensive for just a random Thursday night in my opinion.

One of the best Spanish restaurants in London. Have tried so many Spanish options in UK, Ibérica went way above my expectations, it strikes the right balance between quality of the food, variety of dishes, portion size, and service, without overwhelming expensive prices common on this area for a restaurant this quality. I’ve found many Spanish restaurants in London give you the basic tapas, with moderate-quality ingredients, or not cooked in the right way. Everything we had at Ibérica, was fresh and flavour-rich. From the bread with tomato, to the croquetas, meatballs, chorizo or patatas bravas. They also offer a good selection of wines. We had an excellent cava rose, tried alvarinio, and a very good blend of Cabernet + Syrah for the red option. We didn’t make it to the dessert, just out of space, but plenty of good options. They also offer a set menu and a seasonal Christmas menu, but I believe it is available only some days. Will definitely come back!! Gracias.

Delicious food in a great atmosphere. We ordered several different tapas and loved all of them. Favourite was the calamari. Would definitely recommend.

Visited for a work event with 5 other colegues and we were really impressed by the athmosphere and the food. We were very well looked after. The tapas dishes were delicious.

We had a very nice meal at this restaurant, my wife and I. The lamb was very tasty but the potatoes (or maybe the sauce) was a bit too salty. We finished off with churros; the chocolate sauce was perfectly bitter and sweet, something my wife appreciated since she never likes sweet things. The atmosphere was calm enough to have a conversation in. We recommend this place for sure.

Hey! I have no idea where all those great reviews coming from but last night was kind of disappointment - the first wine the waiter has brought was watery, the second was a bit better but for the price they ask they definitely must deliver better. Paella - they say it's for two persons but in reality the porcion is barely ok for 1 person. What a joke! Luckily jamon was great and padron peppers as well.

Just perfect! A lovely Spanish cuisine brand, where you can always rely on amazing food and vibrant atmosphere. Service was a bit slower than we’d like it this time (half of our tapas didn’t arrive until we enquired) otherwise, recommend it any day!

Not blown away by our experience here. Our tapas selection was very average, some dishes luke warm, & all served on cold plates. Tastiest dish was the Chorizo Lollipops. Service was perfectly pleasant & timely, though we weren’t ever asked how everything was. Plus points - the restaurant has character & a nice, easy going feel, & the location, a minute walk from Farringdon station, is really convenient.

Had a great time here on an outing with my team from work. Despite there being 10 of us, the service was great and the drinks and food were plentiful. The atmosphere was very cool too, very described as rustic chic. I will say the food didn't wow me, but it was still very good and the price was very reasonable for an outing with as much food and wine as we wanted (about £80 pp AND we accidentally bought a much pricier wine than we wanted to). So all in all, good stuff, would recommend if you want Tapas in Central London.

Locale molto carino, cucina tipica spagnola. Personale gentile. Piatti del menù molto buoni, ho assaggiato del jamon iberico e come tapas patatas bravas e tortillas. Molto buona la birra Estrella Galicia. Prezzi un po’ alti.

Good food, lovely decor and friendly service. Felt very expensive, but that’s probably due to the fact that i’ve not gotten used to salaries in the UK being miles behind inflation and i’ve not eaten out in London for a while, so probably just how things are now!

This nicely set out restaurant with its Spanish traditional food is a gem. We enjoyed the seasonal food and the menu choice was great. We had 6 small plates/tapas between us and can recommend them all, one was so good we had a repeat plate! We finished the meal with traditional Spanish puddings and a selection of cheeses. Some of our family had been here before and had recommended it, and it was great! Nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Convenient for rail and tube connections.

What a fantastic restaurant. Really great décor and ambience. Delicious tapas. All dishes were so tasty and amazing, especially the aubergine dish. Service from Carolina was impeccable. I can't wait to go back again!

Love it here. Always busy but unfortunately that meant on our last visit on Monday most of the small plate food items were not available.

Really delicious food and fabulous atmosphere. Great modern Spanish fusion. The aubergine dish and pear salad were both amazing. It was so busy and the wait team were under pressure but Marta (spelling?) our waitress was SO brilliant, it felt like she was doing the job of three people, literally a superwoman with an incredible knowledge of the wine.. which was also v delicious. So thank you Marta! We had a wonderful evening.

Como español, muy muy justito. Todo patata y no muy buena calidad

There was a safety pin in our calamares and the server tried to claim it was us and they don't have safety pins. We were there for a work meeting that was being expensed so we had no reason to try and get things for free. Very weird. I'm going to add to this. Safety pins are a standard part of any first aid kit. If they don't have safety pins they don't have a first aid kit and that's also really bad

Two recent visits. One was great, the next, exactly one week later, was not so good. First visit, the restaurant wasn't over crowded, the food came quickly and was good. Second visit, it seemed the restaurant was full of large parties shouting and screaming at each other; the staff had no time for us, either waiting or cooking.

Great food , wine , service, ambience in a grand setting. Buzzing atmosphere and taste sensations. Felt very Spanish. Was able to accommodate a party of four at 9.30pm without a booking. Will return. Recommended: Black rice and melt in your mouth croquettes

Delicious tapas. Lunch service can be a bit slow if you are needing to dine and dash, so make sure you let your server know in advance.

We arrived and the restaurant had no record of our booking - I had screenshot proof of this and only then were we sat at a table. Do not sit outside, you will be ignored. The tables were so high outside compared to the chairs, and we were cramped between the heaters. No one came to take our order, we had to flag someone down to be served. It was not busy when we arrived and our food took over an hour to come, and out of three small dishes that we ordered they only brought out one. They were quick to rectify bringing out the second dish but the third never arrived, even after asking again for them to bring this. By this point we had been there for an hour and 20 minutes. We were fed up so paid the bill and left. They tried to charge us for the third dish, which I had removed from our bill.

I have been to this restaurant twice in a week. It is amazing, real Spanish food ( and I am from Spain) but the best about it are the staff. Gabriel who attended us tonight is very helpful and friendly. Tapas to recommend padron peppers, sobrasada and the croquettes. Also an excellent wine menu. Real atmosphere. 100% recommended

Do you like Brazilian bankers shouting stories in your ears? Are you a fan of waiting 45 minutes for a tortilla? Do you love your waitress ignoring you and then getting sulky when you get someone else to attend to you? If so, venga! This is the place for you!

Very nice food and friendly service. But very slow service for lamb and desert for my husband. I was done eating and he was waiting and waiting..... over 30 mins for lamb. Kitchen has Talent BUT needs to focus on timing more. Tapas should be flowing... MAYBE go back iF had loads of time..

Was an awesome place with a banging menu. Sadly not any more. Still a lovely room with nice wine and great ham. The menu reads well but doesn't quite follow through on the plate. Staff are lovely but distracted. First time I ate here I was knocked out by it, this time I was disappointed not to be.

Weekend in London, looking for a nice place to eat, and we came across this Spanish place. Walked in hoping they had a table free,they did. As its a tapas place you have all the usual dishes. We had the couple of the standard ones and also tempura hake and twice cooked lamb. Absolutely delicious food and wine, service was superb. If you like tapas then you have to give this place a go.

Lovely tapas restaurant next to Farringdon. The food, particularly the croquettes, was amazing. Very buzzy vibe and lovely staff. Only thing stopping it getting five stars was that service was ever so slightly slow and the churros were not the best, but amazing place and will most definitely return.

Decent restaurant, good menu, try the lamb, it’s really nice. Overall ok, has a bit of a pub feel to the place, makes for a nice change from regular restaurants.

This was the first meal I had in UK while on vacation and it was an enjoyable experience. The interior is well decorated with a nice ambiance. The pulpo and the twice cooked lamb were my table’s favourites. The other dishes we ordered, such as, the croquettes and patatas bravas were much less notable.

Deceptively large restaurant in Farringdon serving tapas, some with a modern twist. We were pleasantly surprised at how good some of the dishes are particularly the tortilla with sobrasada, the marinated anchovies and the croquettes. The wine list looks good although we didn’t get into it. The food leaves the kitchen very quickly. The service is quite busy at lunch naturally. The decor is quite striking and impressive including oversized paintings and the kind of bar I would lose hours against. I would come back!

IBERICA Great Portland Street is one of my favourite places to go; always a warm welcome at the door, great Spanish hospitality, and wonderful bar staff. Sadly Iberica Farringdon is nothing like this....I called to make a reservation for 6pm on a weekday; they said they were full but that they welcome walk-ins for a quick bite. We arrived early, in a virtually empty restaurant and they said they had no tables, other than 2 cramped seats by the till and water bottles. We were really baffled as we could see so many spaces, more importantly, we felt they were "so busy" that they just didn't care. So I think I'll stick with the original :)

Have eaten here many times over the past 15 years ish, and now a disappointing tapas meal. Expected the cost, but individual plates delivered en mass, when they should be paced. Unable to separate battered hake dish to share, very small portions, not as good as previous meals. Shame.

Gone down hill - have visited since opening but this visit was the pits. Poor service with little experience, tapas served without regard to sequence or temperature . Rushed delivery and inadequate customers attention. Food mixed - good croquettas, bony lamb and cold tortillas
