Hyde Park in Taunton Deane

Dreadful meal the food carvery was cold. We complained to the manager, he said he will have to put the heat lamps on a higher heat. They have been doing this for years now, temperature should be higher! We won't return and will NOT RECCOMEND TO GO THERE. Band were pretty rubbish too!!!

A big thank you to the Chef, the Bar Staff and to Patrick and all of the Team at TRFC for a lovely Christmas lunch and the hospitality they gave to our church group of 80 people today. They were polite and showed genuine concern and a keenness to rectify anything that went slightly awry. Thank you too for staying on a little later than agreed to allow the guys to finish the Music Bingo Quiz. Have a lovely Christmas yourselves and you will always find a welcome at Oakwood Church.

Always and excellent carvery lunch with like minded (. Well almost - occasionally a few hat wearers in doors and folk who continue talking while announcements made) folk. Possibly one of the best carvery lunches in the area in addition to high standard of local rugby to watch afterwards.

Tolman Fran Carey, James y Pat Sweeney, extraordinario, cada aspecto atendido, atención al detalle magnífico. Las recomendaciones de todos, la comida sensacional, el magnífico emplazamiento y, en general, una ocasión especial tenía por todos. Altamente recomendado - volveremos el próximo año.

Attended a function with group of friends, as usual meal very good with prompt friendly service. Ideal for this sort of event with its large car park and spacious dining area. At end of formal part of evening were subjected to comedian, apparently the best compared to previous occasions, think this might have been coded message to organiser ( nothing to do with Hyde Park) Another great event at TRFC.

Went for a friends birthday and had a carvery. Very enjoyable good selection of foods available to enjoy! Definitely would go again and would recommend it to any roast-loving person!

My wife and I recently had our wedding reception here and thoroughly recommend this amazing venue. Nothing was too much trouble for them and our day was quite simply perfect. Pat and his wonderful team could not do enough for us and every part of our day was catered for, our every need was met. The food was just beautiful and all of our guests complimented us on it. The added touches of having waitress service for older guests really added to the day. Prices were reasonable & excellent value for money. Our younger guests particularly enjoyed the facts they could play games on the Rugby Pitches.

Serves an excellent lunch on Friends Of Taunton Titans match days, with choice of Rare Beef, Pork and Turkey plus ample selection of roast potatoes etc etc . Selection of cask beers a tad limited recently, and wine choice could be improved. Great atmosphere and very helpful staff. Looking forward to the 2015-16 season

Great carvery, one of the best Rugby clubs I have ever been too. Service good, cheap drinks and well run!

We recently booked a table to celebrate a family members birthday.. on arrival we found we had been split into 2 groups on round tables! When we asked why the excuse was that the person taking the booking was off sick and that it wasn't noted that we wanted to sit together. when we went up for our meal they put the 2 round tables together making it necessary to sit with our backs to half our party it also meant juggling hot plate for those of us now no longer having a seat to sit on.... Poor Very Poor I have never booked a table for a group and expected to sit on separate tables.. As for the food it was fine generous serving and wide range of vegetables, however not all our group wanted pudding, we asked for the Tea and coffee to be served at the same time, to be told we had to wait until the pudding plates had been cleared! Wont be returning in a hurry.

We decided to have a family get together and arranged for sixteen of us to have Sunday lunch at Hyde Park, Taunton - the home of Taunton RFC. This was very much a traditional carvery and everyone, without exception, was impressed with the choice of meats and the wide range of vegetables that was all cooked to perfection. The taste and texture of the roast potatoes was especially good. It is all done on a "self service" type style rather than waitress/waiter served which we thought worked really well. Good food, good portions and good value for money. We'll definitely be going back!
