The staff were really nice on check in. Although I had booked with a third party, I got a free room upgrade and a free voucher for a cocktail on the rooftop bar (I chose the espresso martini). The gym only had two treadmills and was small but that was more than enough for me. The TV could do with an accessible HDMI port. Breakfast was ok- I liked that they had smoothie in addition to juice- but the staff paced in continuously circles around the breakfast room, which made me feel a bit anxious as I was trying to eat! Overall I'd recommend the hotel.

A good option for those wanting clean & comfortable accommodation with easy tube/bus links around London, all at a ‘reasonable’ rate. The rooms were average size for London, with a good bed/mattress & nice pillows/linens. AC/HEAT & wifi worked well, although I do think their provider is blocking some ports, as some of my email accounts would only load when using a VPN. TV Channel selection is good, although channels can lock for 1-2 seconds, which I presume is an issue with their provider. Breakfast is “OK”. They don’t vary the buffet, but it has enough options for 3-4 days. I did find the preparation of the bacon & sausage varied greatly from day to day. Some days dry and cooked for ever ! other days perfect. I wonder if it was re-warmed stuff from the previous day ? Lots of shops & restaurants very close by, so no problem stocking your room with snacks and soda’s stored in the mini fridge. Providing the rate is no more than £150, I would definitely return.

Awesome location near Whitechapel underground.(please be aware is not a clean 10 minute walk if this is your first time to London Aldgate/Algdate East is more at night times,) Breakfast was not hot especially the sausage and the scrambled eggs. At breakfast do not sit in the far right corner of restaurant it was stone cold and I was offered a broken wheeled ,hardly fuctioning heater put beside my legs. The chair i sat in the back rest was broken,so everytime I lean back the two front legs of the chair would lift up ,so that if I werent carefully I could rock backwards and hit my head on the wall behind me.. Pocket Square was lively with awesome dj. Did nt seem to be so welcoming atmosphere for a new guest.Ask if I could use my vouchers he said yes. After a time cocktails arrived .After a few sips the bill came.I brought it to the curly haired gentlemen.I also asked why so much ice????1.3 inch square block,he responded about that's how it comes.... As I sat with my partner talking about our long journey that day a dear female barkeeker explained the concept, ingredients and service of the cocktails. She excused the miscommunication of the waiter and offered me a third cockrail for us to try on the house......this one act saved our complete experience. At the end of our trip we had a early departure we ask reception for a breakfast doggy bag. OMG old one croissant/danish a banana and nothing to drink(10-22££)I did nt check it until at the airport because I trusted the hotel's common sense and fairness.... Disclaimer: This review is from an ex chef from Soho House and ex waiter from Marriott Hotels and a global traveller my review comes from a place of love for the industry,my hometown of London and a hard working customer. *I've lower the experience to 1 due to the poor response from management team to my first review.

Unfortunately, the expectations that one had of the name “Hyatt” were not met. Great start with nice staff and quick self check-in. Afterwards our room welcomes us with a temperature of 15 degrees. Very poorly cleaned. Sticky stains on the table, urine stains on the toilet and the room furnishings apparently include an old hair tie and a nail file from the previous guest. This simply cannot happen. Because of the cold, just take a warm shower. Unfortunately not possible. Hardly any water pressure and the temperature, even on the highest setting, only a maximum of 20 degrees. The heating is then set to the highest level. After 4 hours of sightseeing, the room was still a refreshing 19 degrees. Broken heating and water problem reported the next morning. At least the heating could be repaired. Hot water still not available. Not a word or gesture of apology. Toilet paper is apparently in short supply. At least housekeeping didn't replenish this. Too bad. Actually a nice hotel with friendly staff. Unfortunately service is lacking. Unfortunately, this hotel will not be an option for us again.

I recently stayed at Hyatt Place Whitechapel, and overall, it was a good experience. The location is excellent—very convenient and close to the underground station, making it easy to explore the city. The room, however, felt a bit congested. While it was clean and had all the essential amenities, a bit more space would have made the stay more comfortable. If you’re looking for a hotel with a prime location and don’t mind compact rooms, this is a solid option.

Hello, our stay in your hotel was nice and comfortable. The service was very pleasant, the breakfast tasty, the rooms clean and nice. The view from the room was really interesting. Only the sliding door to the bathroom with toilet was unusual for us, but otherwise fine. The location of the hotel suited us and the overall stay in London was beautiful and unforgettable for us.

The rooms were very clean and adequately furnished. In the shower there was shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. A bit limited space in the bathroom. Unfortunately, the hairdryer can only be plugged in next to the bed as there was no socket in the bathroom. Breakfast was fine and reasonable for £10 per person. The location is a bit out of the way so you definitely have to take a walk. It also takes around 10-15 minutes to walk to the nearest large underground (Whitechapell). There are many nationalities and local shops around the hotel. Many fruit & vegetable retailers, clothing and cell phone shops. The area was quite dirty.

Checked in via the automated booths which was super easy and convenient. The room was perfect apart from 2 very minor issues (air con and TV being a bit buggy). Mentioned it to reception on our way out and they very kindly upgraded us! This was so lovely, especially since it was my birthday! New room was higher up so slightly quieter and much bigger. Hotel breakfast was very busy but the staff handled it so well and smoothly it wasn’t an issue at all. Food was delicious and fresh. Location is super convenient for travel into central London with Aldgate East only a 2 min walk away. Would highly recommend, will definitely book with Hyatt again.

We stayed for 3 days in a standard room on the 9th floor. The view was excellent. The room was very clean upon arrival. Self check in worked great. The location is ok, within walking distance of Tierbridge. 10 minutes walk to Aldgat East metro. A stop on Liverpool Street where you can take the train to the airport. The breakfast was great, typical English breakfast. Staff was always nice. What I have to complain about is the very small room. Maybe I was a little unlucky. Small clothes closet. Coffee machine had no power and had to be adjusted. The light buttons from the bathroom were 2 meters on another wall. The pressure in the shower was not there at all, you could wash yourself like that. The worst thing was .. the cleaning of the rooms. We leave the hotel at 8:00 a.m. at 8:30 a.m. at the latest. We come back around 2 p.m. to rest for the evening. The cleaning lady didn't manage to clean the room before 2 p.m. on any of the 3 days we stayed. On the last day we were without toilet paper. But I would still choose it again. The area is ok. There are better ones out there but then you also pay more.

We visited from California in April. The room has small but comfortable and the location in east London was perfect. We walked from the hotel to the Tower of London. We also really enjoyed the restaurants around the hotel, specially a Turkish place in the corner. The hotel breakfast was very good! I really loved the green juice and the pastries, as well as the full English breakfast. I would stay here again.

Unfortunately nothing left or right.....to get to Tower Bridge you have to walk about 25 minutes.....we wanted to be in the middle of all the sights, unfortunately this is not the case In the hotel you can ONLY pay by card where an additional charge of 47 euros was charged Unfortunately, drinks and dinner are only available with a card...we then looked for a place where cash was required The room was very nice and clean, there was a Nespresso machine and still mineral water in the room, the towels were also changed daily (we stayed for 2 nights). The negative was the toilet door was a sliding door and the hairdryer was in a bag in the bedside table Breakfast was very good and there was something for everyone

We stayed at this hotel over the weekend. We didn't miss anything. The room was clean and big enough. No noise because the window firstly couldn't be opened and secondly it faced the inner courtyard. The subway is less than 5 minutes away on foot and you can get to Victoria Station in just under 20 minutes. The employees were all nice. And everything was great at breakfast too.

We had a wonderful experience at the Hyatt Place London City East. From the moment we walked in we were greeted cheerfully by the gentleman at the door. Laura made our anniversary even more memorable, making sure our room was well taken care of and left a lovely note. All the staff we encountered were so helpful. The breakfast had a decent variety of options. The location is super convenient to the train station about a 5 minute walk. Overall an excellent stay and I would definitely recommend to anyone staying in London!

We stayed overnight for a long weekend, the hotel is conveniently located for trips into the city and the surrounding area, the tower is about 15 minutes away on foot, there is a subway station right next to it and the bus also runs practically in front of the hotel away. The breakfast was okay for us, the coffee is honestly not that great. But the orange juice made up for it. A trip to the rooftop bar is recommended to have a drink in the evening and marvel at the view. The room was well equipped, very large for the location and cleaned daily by the service. There are a few cafes and Indian restaurants within walking distance that are quite okay. Our room was very quiet and had USB charging options at the sockets.

Visited October 2024. A mile or so away from Tower Bridge and The Tower of London, and a stones throw from the totally beautiful Tower Hamlets Town Hall. The hotel is a great base to visit The City, Canary Wharf and Stratford. A modern, hi-tech, comfortable hotel on a bustling high street. Two bars - one on the roof, contemporary rooms with all that is necessary for a weekend stop or a longer stay. We had a King Bed with Terrace that had the most amazing views from our massive balcony. The views could also be enjoyed from inside the room that was equipped with a large corner window. A space-defying shower room and a wide screen TV ensured that our stay was a pleasant one. With Whitechapel on its doorstep a five minute walk will bring you to The Ripper Museum. Breakfast was included - good coffee and superb staff. Loved it.

Fairly essential hotel despite the 4* rating. Room size was fine for a short stay, the A/C not working and room stayed at 22.5C throughout my stay. Bathroom amenities can be greatly improved; shower products are fine, nothing else was provided. Breakfast was good although pretty standard and in an overcrowded location. Checking/checkout pretty fast using the self-service kiosks.

I have been travelling for business and pleasure for 20 years and this hotel would have to be the worst hotel I have stayed in, its definitely not a 4-Star hotel, my room was dirty and dusty, the front desk/reception staff were incredibly rude and the breakfast was mediocre at best, I will never stay in this hotel again.

Stayed here for 2 nights. It's a decent room. Fairly clean. I've knocked off 2 stars because of the bedsheets having hair on them even though I hadn't slept on them. Their toilet is really weird and makes a scary noise with each flush. The hole is really small. It reminded me of the toilets on a plane. The view was not great but it wasn't an issue for me. The bathroom was decent although I had to bring my own cleaning wipes for the toilet as there was a questionable mark near the bottom of the lid. The staff were friendly and check-in was smooth and easy. So was check-out. Overall decent. You get what you pay for.

Globalists beware.. they have two breakfast locations, one on the first floor, and the other on the 9th floor (advertised/communicated to us as premium, but in reality, only has 1/3rd of the options available downstairs). Even more, you have to pay £10 to have breakfast in the downstairs location. This is a new policy that was implemented 2 weeks ago and talking to some of the globalists eating together, none were a fan. There should be an option for globalists to choose which location to eat at. This is no fault of the staffs, but moreso feedback for management. Staff were lovely and friendly, and room was good.

Once you get past the underwhelming & highly transaction check in experience, the hotel is reasonable. If you are a Hyatt fan, especially of the Grand/Park/Regency brands, drop all expectations. I was handed a key at checkin and that’s about it, there was no food available, no room service, no mention of breakfast, no recognition of status, no status based upgrade. The room was sufficient, with a small window that cannot be opened. Larger apple power adapters cannot be used at the desk or bedside as they do not fit. The gym is small / basic but has Technogym equipment. There are some great cafes nearby and it’s well connected to buses and the tube. It is definitely a more edgy part of town, so be prepared for all walks of life on the street out front. Overall - a reasonable business hotel for a couple of nights but it’s definitely a new twist on Hyatt level of service.

Unfortunately, our room was very dark, with a view of a wall. Check-in at the machine was quite impersonal. Unfortunately, the rooftop bar was closed due to a private event, and we were rather uncharacteristically turned away at the restaurant/bar because we “just” wanted to have a drink.

We stayed here for 7 nights for a family vacation, 2 adults 2 kids. We booked 2 rooms, and they gave us connecting rooms which made it convenient. The rooms were very clean, and well designed for the space. I liked that there is no carpet in the rooms. Service was great, the staff is friendly. The breakfast restaurant is free for kids which was a nice bonus. The location is a bit questionable. It's definitely not the nicest part of London, but I appreciated that there weren't many tourists in the area, mostly locals, and students. Lots of cute little restaurants, close to Tesco Express and Poundland. Short walk to Aldgate East station which was very convenient as we took the tube every day. We took the Elizabeth line from Heathrow both ways. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

First stay at this hotel for 3 nights on a leisurely break. Check in friendly and very efficient. Room clean, reasonably spacious for the price and very clean. Good shower room, again very clean. Large TV with chrome cast which was useful for streaming. All staff were friendly and helpful and big shout out to the restaurant staff, especially the delightful Arianna. Located nearby Aldgate East station (4 mins) and Whitechapel on Elizabeth line is a great advantage for travel. We ate in the newly reopened Sicilian restaurant 2 nights. First time was good and the quality and flavours impressed, especially as prices are reasonable. The second time (a Sunday night) was a big let down as one of our main courses was cold and the other lukewarm. Starter of baked aubergine also lukewarm. I don't know what happened that night but this needs to be sorted. I saw other similar complaints in recent reviews regarding lukewarm or cold food. Only other comment on restaurant was that the background music one night was intrusive and inappropriate for dining...more like for a bar bit was repetitive electronic beats and far too high speed for relaxing dining. Breakfast was busy and may be a short wait for a table at peak times. I recommend going earlier than 9am to avoid peak at weekends. Sampled drinks at the rooftop bar and seemed perfectly good. Again friendly staff although the bar lacked atmosphere when we visited.

We booked a table at this restaurant online and had all the expected emails (including one a couple of days before asking us to confirm that we were definitely going). However on arrival we discovered that the restaurant had closed and there was now something else in it's place. I was told that the restaurant had closed over a month ago! All their online booking seems still to be in place, including the emails telling me that I was successfully checked in at the restaurant and the one asking for feedback on my experience! Very misleading. Also very disappointing given that we'd travelled a long way and desperately needed Gluten Free food and there was nothing else suitable in the area that we could find. What a disaster!
