Stayed here a few times . Staff always lovely . Comfy beds . Food was nice. My sister and I stay here when we visit family . Don't think we would go to another hotel in the area. Customer service here is second to none. See you all again .

service was brilliant again today! a gentleman behind the bar was helpful and helped us with our dietary needs (glutton Free) for myself and daughter we had a chickpea curry and a chicken newyork it was delicious! my husband got a homerun burger and wow it was huge it could of filled us all up! its nice to know that people take the effort to help with allergies.

Treasure, it’s hard to measure. Do I judge on pleasure, or how we feel together, or the freedoms of leisure? I was asked by a well known review site, for what reason did I visit the Highfield hotel? Was it businesss? Was it a solo venture? The answer will shake you, it was neither. For a while I’ve seemed the tranquility and serenity, that could only be experience at places such as a mountain top, or a blue lagoon. On this occasion, the blue lagoon made me feel on top of a mountain, on top of the world. The crystal clear drop of blue glistened inside a jug that could easily be mistaken as an artifact belonging to a Norwegian goddess. As clear as ice, as cold as the arctic circle, as untamed as the North Sea, and as beautiful as cleopatra herself. This can be experienced for as little or as much cost as the newly released, limited edition McRib. But will leave your body ribbed with pleasure. Weak at the knees, this young traveller may not venture far tonight. For he will accept the hospitality and accommodation of this place of rest. A palace is defined as the residence of a true leader, tonight, number 12 Highfield, twin bedroom, free kettle usage, is my palace. For I am the leader and the ruler of the Teesside region. Desire, fire, liar (one thing I am not). Stay at Highfield, eat at Highfield, drink at Highfield. I leave you with a rating as large as my satisfied tummy, 5 stars, and 5 stone gained. Forever and always yours.

Can't fault this place at all. The location and parking was perfect the drinks were 2 for £7 and the food was outstanding quality 2 main meals for just over £12 and that was with a huge variety for both vegetarian, vegan and meat eater. I hate to say but this is my new regular. Will be back even my Autistic child was happy.

We ate here today. Good priced menu staff are very polite and helpful. We had a burger and a steak, TBH both very good and when you look at the price it must be hard to get a better value meal in Middlesbrough . We will use agai . Thanks

Friendly bar staff, clean pub and accommodating for family’s. Food menu is great and lovely for “pub food” drinks are reasonably priced.

Came for tea and the lamb kofta flatbread was great and the service was excellent.

Did not stay overnight, just there for a meal with family. Lovely food, decent beers. Only thing was ran out of lamb meals so, some in party had to rechoose a couple of times but enjoyed what we did get. Would go back, for sure. Family friendly in the dining area and bar area for adults only

Rooms are modern and clean, staff are amazing and go above and beyond and especially rosie. Breakfast were lovely and the drinks were so cheap !

This morning I had a great waffles Benedict. And served by Courtney. Who made sure I was looked after. And I asked about booking a hotel room for family. And Sophie made sure I would get a great deal.

Come in regularly as my family live local to the Highfield. Staff are friendly, breakfast is always nice, and the beer garden is great for summer drinks.

Good breakfast. Reasonable price and good quality of food. Only thing that would make it better would be on option of soya or oat milk for the hot drinks.

My sister and I stayed for 3 nights at the Highfield, we were welcomed by a lovely member of staff who checked us in. We had 2 single rooms, and it was no problem being at the top of the Hotel on 2nd floor. Our rooms were very clean and comfy, lovely bathroom, and comfortable bed. The breakfast was very good and set you up for the day. The pub was busy and the pub food was good value. We both felt safe and very relaxed there, and I have already booked to go back in November to visit family. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Went out for some food with family. Busy but plenty of space to sit. Staff friendly and helpful.

Two mix it up tuesday meals today can't fault them at all...staff are very friendly and welcoming

Swapped peas with my pie for carrots, and they came out raw. I'm no bunny, what gives? Whilst they boiled the carrots everything was under the grill bar the gravy. Ruined the whole meal, tuck some persuading of the manageress to say "ain't paying for that" seeing as I ate less than 25% of it. Questionable!!!!! I believe it would be prudent to offer a small variety of veg, or even a salad with said dish. To say that you only COOK carrots on a Sunday is ludicrous, 3 minutes of attention to detail would have avoided all of this and potentially a 5star review. As it was let down by such a small misdemeanor. Which spoilt the experience. I'm sure things will be put in place to avoid this problem in future. I look forward to my next encounter once this has been implemented.

Despite numerou refurbishment it still looks drab and menu is uninspiring. Can be noisy early evening with kids all-over.

Had few nice beers served by a guy called Joe great service looked after us well even brought to table credit to the green king company

Came in for lunch with my Nana. Food was tasty, well priced, and served quickly. Staff were also polite and helpful.

I am currently and have for the last 5 months been working in this area, I have sampled many hostelrys in the area and tbh honest, this is now my regular haunt. Fantastic, friendly staff, great ambiance,,TV screens everywhere for the sports lovers, quiz on Fridays, live music Saturdays, good,competitive prices 😀,...

Very disappointed ☹️ to find small children running around in over 18.s bar area.. I visit regularly because I no it is over 18.s and can enjoy a pint and read a paper without feeling like I am in a playground.. I asked barstaff why children were in here .. was told because family rooms were full and they had to use bar as overflow.. i checked and there was clearly tables free in family side so very disappointed....

Always go above and beyond. Staff and regulars are always chatting and having a laugh, place is very well kept and decent prices but what sets it apart is the staff 100%

Stayed here for a night after a gig at the Empire and it was the ideal place to stay. Price of the room was excellent - it was clean and spacious and we could hear no noise when trying to sleep. For convenience, we had a meal in the restaurant before heading to see Johnny Marr and found it filling and tasty. Easy to get into Middlesbrough by taxi. Would stay in a Green King hotel again, for sure, and if I ever attend a gig at the Empire in the future this is the first hotel I'll look at. The only quibble was that the pastries included in the continental breakfast were inedible as they were extremely dry and clearly weren't fresh or even freshly out the freezer. Otherwise, a perfect place to stay on a budget.

Positives: Been refurbished by the looks of things. Looks pretty friendly. Room clean and pleasant. Good solid bed. Negatives: Went in the restaurant to eat and no fish left - not good. Took about 5 minutes for hot water to start coming out of the shower so don't know what is happening there ??? And no soap in the shampoo/bodywash container so had to deduct a star unfortunately for the last two things.

Service was a bit slow but once served at the bar a lot better meal was nice and hot not overcroweded just nice

Popped in here for a drink, lovely, spacious dining areas, looked at the menu, lots of choice and reasonably priced. If this hungry horse food is as good as ours in marske it will be great. Staff were nice and friendly. The whole place looked clean with a nice atmosphere. We'll worth a visit. Good size car park.
