Hunger Fix & The Vault in Plymouth

Interesting that there’s been a lot of interest since The Vault closed and the lease was up for grabs. A lively CBD cafe business called ‘Buddha Hut’, which started a year or so ago in Union Street then moved to lower Cornwall Street has now announced they are expanding again and have acquired the Mutley lease and will open at the beginning of November with a cafe selling lots of CBD coffee and food etc on the ground floor with the large basement given over to other CBD products.

Recently had a Christmas party there and it was the perfect venue for a small-medium gathering. Staff were friendly and everyone had a good time.

Thought i would treat myself on day 7 of self isolation and I wasn't disappointed. Lovely fresh hot food delivery quickly and very tasty. Will be back for sure

Visited the vault last Friday and was pleasantly surprised by the amazing customer care offered by the bar staff particularly one young lady, Gabby, who offered a brilliant standard of customer care and overall such a welcoming positive attitude. The drinks were such good value for money and really tasty can’t wait to come back would 100% recommend to friends and family.

No track and trace offered or enforced! Went for cocktails on Friday evening. They were not the kind of cocktails I'd expect for £9 very overpriced cocktails of a wetherspoons quality. I had a Mai Tai which just tasted of orange juice. And had something green in it. Would not recommend this place to a discerning drinker. The drinks menu doesn't even tell you what's in the cocktails. 🤷‍♂️ The decor was clean and tasteful, the staff were friendly and presentable.

Definitely recommend this place. A group of 5 of us went for cocktails on Saturday night and were blown away by the customer service. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, especially Mike! Who went to the efforts of making us bespoke cocktails. Will definitely be back.

Amazing food here, can tell it’s not just a one off as this is now my 3rd time I’ve ordered from them and the quality has never dropped. Would probably say this is the best pizza in the city that I’ve had delivered and the side selections are insane. Generous portions and delivered in a timely matter with food still piping hot. Definitely recommend.

Ordered two pizzas and sides and it came really quickly. The pizzas were both really fresh with loads of toppings much nicer than the usual dominos. The dough balls are out of this world.

Usually sceptical but tried these, really decent ingredients and tastes amazing with quick delivery will have to start working my way through the menu as there looks some really good flavours that other places dont do - well not on pizza anyway. Would've uploaded a picture but ive already eaten it all.

The food was admazing and it was very fast !! It was better than dominoes and the were admazing too !!

Pizzas are unbelievable so tasty freshly made and you can certainly tell!! Great quality ingredients. Fully recommend you try them you won’t be disappointed 10/10

Lucky enough to win a raffle for takeaway today.. delivery of 2 large pizza,side of mozzarella sticks & doughball sweet side..oh my word!!delicious & would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a new takeaway.. thank you for saving me cooking tea!!😉😉😉

Difficult times for everyone let alone a new cafe and cocktail bar. But they are launching on the basis of takeaways and have the advantage of an established mobile catering set up and social media presences. The interior of the ground and basement of number 72 have been refitted. Older residents of this part of town may remember when it was Gieves, a posh men’s clothing shop serving naval, military officers and wealthy folk. After many years it became home to a popular independent radical bookshop In Other Words which was eventually fell to the online competition and since then there have been some middling cafe businesses. Hunger Fix seems more determined and The Vault - the basement cocktail bar with some trendy metal panelling downstairs has the feel of a place that when the restrictions ease may provide a different sort of boozing option in this dense and well heeled part of the city. There is public parking close by on the Mutley Barracks site but HF & TV is within easy walking distance for many. Our first encounter with the takeaway set up was friendly.
