Humphrey's Bar in Kensington and Chelsea

On business. I naively believed that even in a hotel restaurant ( which is never normally exceptional) that Mushroom soup starter & Spaghetti Bolognese you can’t go wrong . At this place you can! Soup turned up with a desert spoon… apparently they had no soup spoons ( unbelievable) & the two bread rolls were stale… mushroom soup definitely pre heated microwave stuff. Spaghetti Bollognaise …watery at the bottom…. Suggesting microwave mince and get this…. No accompanying Parmesan cheese. When I asked for it.. chef said we have no Parmesan!! But do have some chopped up bits of chedder cheese!! Incredible!!! My advice? Don’t bother.. even if your dog tired … go out to a restaurant that depends on quality to enable it to continue business…. This place was a joke to eat in. Room was good 342 on 28-2-24 , staff nice and polite.. but Humphrey’s restaurant get drinks for sure but give the food a miss.

Booked an Afternoon Tea for the San Valentine’s Day celebration. Was genuinely impressed by decorations and attention to the details. Special thanks to Mr Vadim, outstanding customer service. Highly recommended!

Super excited for the new season

The ground floor foyer Cafe Restaurant Inside the now called Millenium Motel, was The Duke of Gloucester Motel years ago, 18, Harrington Gardens, Gloucester Road Underground, South Kensington, London. Both motifs are still shown so take your pick! Staff really good I thought, nice ambient atmosphere here too. Look inside the menu to see how Humphries became the name! The best cooked Cod and Chips I think I've ever had too, well worth the fee! London tourist prices of course. Last update Th270423. Enjoy.

Well located hotel. Very professional and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. The pub with very good service. The heating didn't work in the room, they gave us a heater. The mattresses and cushions were somewhat uncomfortable.

I have been coming to this place for 10 years. mainly because I stay in the hotel and the convenience. unfortunately, the service has been a disaster. 5 thumbs down

Great place, fantastic atmosphere

Have visited on 5 occasions whilst stopping at the hotel. On 3 of these occasions I have sat down and been ignored for over 30 minutes so have walked out. The ‘manager’ is more interested in the USA and Middle Eastern visitors. There is a girl who just stands at the bar and doesn’t do much other than talk to the other staff, including the off duty staff that seem to come and sit when it’s a little quieter and they chose to ignore me. That said there is one member of staff (young bearded chap) who does all the work and should be applauded. As I have another month here, this venue will not be receiving any more visits from me!

The manager Abdell was there every day we were there and treated us like royalty. He is as kind and sweet as could be, which is hard to find in todays world. He made our stay at the Millennium Glouster Hotel!!! He gets a 10+ for customer service!! 😊😊

I’ve used to stay at millennium since 2014, the best hotel so far, the staff are super friendly. Abdell from the bar was super helpful, whenever I needed anything from the hotel he’s been guiding me through. I would like to thank him and all his co-workers.

Fabulous bar within the Millenium Gloucester Hotel, South Kensington. Extremely friendly staff who are nicely attentive and make your stay here a fabulous experience. Ardell and Anna where wonderful throughout my stay and made sure i was we’ll looked after. Thank You!

My sister and I were here with a tour group. We arrived from the airport in the early morning and of course our room wasn’t ready. We were told we’d have to wait until 3 PM. Since we were exhausted from the overnight trip, we stopped here for tea and pastries. Hussein was working at the time. He was very pleasant and very nice to talk to. He was very concerned because we are seniors and he felt we should have a place to relax. Somehow, he managed for us to check in early. He went out of his way for us and we appreciated it very much.

We had booked next door at Bailey's Hotel but when they were not prepared to serve my daughter because she had a nut allergy we thought we would try here. In 16 years of eating out with my daughter since she developed her allergy we had never been refused service so were slightly stunned that we had been forced to leave Baileys, we could therefore not believe it when the same thing happened. The staff were not prepared to make any allowances for the allergy, would not confirm which dishes had nuts in and just said they could not guarantee any of the dishes were safe, it was obvious they did not want the hassle and it would be easier if we just left. Which we did, to be honest I was quite happy to as it was dark, dull, very empty and totally lacking in any atmosphere - unlike the lively and friendly Pizza Express across the road where we went instead and had a lovely meal.

Hussein makes a great cup of tea! Great service with infused tea in good bar. Just what was needed whilst waiting. Lovely.

Good food and great service. Did not feel rushed and was a very relaxing experience. Just off the hotel lobby and was very convenient if we were too tired to venture out.

Dropped in for drinks and light supper after a busy day. There were many options. I ordered hot and sour soup and the mister ordered a very tasty hamburger.

My husband and I were staying at the Millennium Hotel so used the £15pp food vouchers we got with the room booking. Long travel (24 hr travel time for us) had us hungry, tired, and a bit jet lagged. We found a cozy corner table and although I worried the game in the flat screen might be too much for a quiet dinner, it was actually just fine even with us sitting quite near. The waitstaff was attentive and polite but never hovered. The menu has enough variation to not be boring and price range is good for those who aren't use to the sticker shot of London. We decided to keep our first meal simple, ordering a grilled chicken sandwich (which came loaded with onion that was not mentioned on the menu) and a ham & cheese panini. They both came with fries (chips) that could have benefited from another 30sec in the fryer (but I prefer mine golden and crispy, these were light golden and soft but still very delicious). We did not order alcohol (we aren't big drinkers anyway and with having just finished traveling knew we needed water more than anything). The food was very well prepared with great flavor and the grill marks on the panini perfection. Our plates were clean by the end of the meal and well satisfied, we took the few steps to the hotel elevators and headed up to our room. Definitely convenient and cozy with good food.

Excellent food and drink enjoyed the service because everyone recognized us every time we arrived and quick service the steak is great!

Perfect spot at the Millennium Hotel in Kensington for Christmas Dinner! Good food, drinks, desserts and random customer playing the piano for diners for an hour. Thanks to Hussein our server working on Christmas Day! He was friendly and he just made it a fantastic Christmas Dinner experience for us!

Stayed at the Millenium hotel for a few days before boarding a cruise ship.. Rooms were great and staff was friendly. Really enjoyed hanging at the Humphreys Bar where the food was good and Martyna the bartender was superb!!

The staff at this restaurant was great. I had dinner and breakfast twice. Great experiences, great food and the staff were very professional - Hussein and his team were great.

Mi novia y yo nos alojamos en el Millennium Gloucester Hotel, y dando vueltas por el elegante Humphrey's Bar en la planta baja. Pedimos Mojitos (estándar, fresa, y pepino), y fueron preparados los mejores mojitos que he probado, rico con ron cubano. Hussein, en particular, es un artista en este medio.

Este es mi 21 viaje a Londres. Ya que me encanta buenas cervezas, cerveza negra y cervezas, yo estaba buscando un lugar para comer, aunque era 25 Diciembre y estaba todo cerrado. Yo estaba en Millenniun hotel , Kensington y decidimos sentarnos un rato , tienen un par de cervezas y quizás comer algo.

Hemos estado en el bar Humphrey's recientemente un número de veces, y siempre han sido atendidas por un personal amigable y servicial. Siempre es bueno ver Hussain de guardia, ya que él es excepcional. Bonito lugar, deberías probar.

I stay in Millennium Hotel on a weekly basis and occasionally settle down in Humphrey's Bar. Hadn't been there for a few weeks so dropped by for my Peking Duck favourite with a glass of CabSauv. Served by Ismael who is very courteous and friendly. What better way to fuel oneself before heading to the casino next door! Much more relaxing experience than in one of the crushed bars nearby.

Hussein and Ishmail run this bar with total precision. Courteous, professional and excellent service. Peter and Karen also excellent.

Lovely atmosphere and good service nice lounge area with plenty of places to sit. The staff are attentive and helpful. Great selection of cocktails.

Attached to Millennium Gloucester hotel its your typical bar with high prices and a wine list where stock levels do not match. The hotel now issues vouchers to its Club Level clients so this place now gets very busy.

This is the only place in this hotel to have the WiFi sorted- beer is expensive but friendly staff but you need to ask for the nuts they seemed to be hiding them at the back of the bar under wraps!"!

I stayed at the hotel several times over summer 2014. I only used the bar for a cold beer after work. At 4.70GBP a pint it is reasonably priced for a hotel bar, and always cold. Service was always polite, if occasionally a little slow, they don't always seem to have enough staff on.

This was your average dark, cozy bar set off to the side of the main lobby at the Gloucester. It was great to grab a bite to eat but there are so many other good options out there in this large wonderful city that you should not settle for mediocre. Sorry, but I think £14 for a burger is a lot of money - even in a big city.

Personalet i baren havde meget svært ved at koncentrere sig om at betjene os, hvilket resulterede i at dét at den ene burger skulle være uden ost, blev to uden ost.. Burgerne var udmærket, løgringene ligeså, men pomfritterne var lidt slatne.Det usandsynligt lille fjernsyn, viste af alle kampe, Dortmund vs. Galatasasay - her troede man at man kunne se Arsenal eller Liverpool.. Til barens forsvar påpegede vi hverken den manglende ost eller kampen.

Have drinks on the first night at this bar within Millennium Gloucester Hotel. Service is ok and beer was good! Had the london beer of course!

Really relaxed atmosphere, pumpkins decorated for Halloween and really helpful polite waiters - what more do you want after a busy day around London!

The bar offers food and drinks until the wee hours of the night. The waiters are professional and courteous. It's a nice place to visit when visiting the Millennium hotel - but I might not come especially.

Whilst staying at the hotel we stopped at the bar for a drink before going out to dinner elsewhere. The cocktails are very good! Our dinner was disappointing and on our return to the hotel we had a few more cocktails in the bar and were sorry we hadn't had dinner there too. The food looked very good and it was such a nice, comfortable bar. Would definitely go there again and would try the food.

Great restaurant and the food was amazing and the service was Excellent the waiters very friendly and nice to talk to the Somelier was amazing and he new his wine and champagne very well.

The bar is in the hotel we were staying in. A great place to relax. Staff are attentive and helpful without being intrusive.

My wife and I eat there recently, having read generally good reviews. We both ordered the same meal, but my wife's steak was inedible with gristle running through it. There was only one young girl behind the bar and my wife asked if, when the girl had a minute, to exchange the meal (for the reason stated). About 30 minutes later I went to the bar to ask what had happened to my wife's meal and was told that they were very busy in the kitchen. Within 10 minutes a replacement meal was served. Unfortunately, for the next 24 hours my wife was ill. When it came to the bill we were offered a house cocktail by way of an apology. It was a very weak mojito which didn't taste too good and we left it. However, we were not charged, so can't complain. The following evening, with my wife unwell, I bought food from the local Waitrose and ate in our room. This spoiled what should have been a good week-end away in a very nice Hotel.

I attended a conference at this hotel recently and for such an expensive hotel, the bar is a joke. We had to wait 30 minutes to get a drink for my friend - there was just one bar worker, who was painfully slow, and the other guy was rushed off his feet serving food. Lots of other customers were complaining. Then when the drink came it was exorbitantly priced (nearly £10 for a Tia Maria and Coke). Based on this experience, I wouldn't stay at the hotel, particularly as there are so many alternatives in that part of London. Or if you do, avoid the bar at all costs!

I feel a little mean with this rating but it really was only average. The atmosphere and the design, are fine but not memorable. The drinks list lacked a draft bitter while the service was polite yet fairly slow. OK.

We ate in here on the first night of our trip. The food was quickly served and to a good standard. I would have no issue in recommending a meal here

We had a drink in this bar and the service was really good as was the beer we had. Served in nice glasses. The tables cleared and cleaned promptly.

We stayed at the hotel o went to the bar every night. The drinks were good but service was hit or miss. Some nights it was great and some nights we waited 10 minutes or more for service. Some nights it was really noisy and the singer sang wore than me and I cannot carry a note.

I am a wedding and events planner at Ardley Weddings, I often meet clients in this beautiful little bar, its cosy, and perfect, and the staff are amazing.

Enjoy the soft easy listening entertainment on Wednesday and Saturday nights. Comfortable seating makes it easy to chat. Nice ambiance.

We ended up having Lunch at Humphrey's as no other restaurant was open.Only after our order was placed ,I realised that it was only 11:50 am.No wonder no lunch venues were open.The fish and chips were good.Service slow.

This bar is within the Millennium Gloucester Hotel complex and just off the reception area. A comfy area where you can relax and watch the world go by in the main reception. Food menu is pretty good. If you're staying at the hotel great to have a few drinks before retiring.

I have always wanted to try Afternoon Tea here but somehow never found the time. On this trip, I was expecting a client at the hotel in less than an hour and decided to ask if we could have Afternoon Tea. Since this was not something that was prepared and served every day at a certain time, I was doubtful that my impromptu request could be met. However, they assured me that my Tea for Two would be ready in half an hour and indeed it was. The sandwiches, scones and cakes were a treat and good value for the price.I definitely recommend this.
