Hugs&mugs in Glasgow City

No suelo molestarme con las críticas, pero esta mañana mi pareja y yo decidimos pasar y fue honestamente el mejor desayuno que he tomado de la salsa holandesa que vino en la pila picante mexicana fue irreal. Volveré y les diré a todos los que conozco que vengan aquí. Stephanie nos sirvió y ella era genial, así que feliz y amable.

El servicio amable y la comida increíble. Sin embargo, prepárate para compartir tu espacio con muchos perros. A pesar de muchas mesas en el exterior parece ser preferible llevar perros dentro. No es una política que apoyaría. La comida era muy buena, entre los mejores en Shawlands. No hay nada malo en pedir a los que tienen perros que se sienten afuera.

Servicio extremadamente lento y la comida no es genial. Se le dio una ciabatta empapada con un lado de ensalada de col que sabía mal. Cuando se lo mencioné a una camarera me dijo que “se lo haría saber al chef”. Ella regresó más tarde para decirme que “tomará mis comentarios en cuenta”. No comió la comida, no se le ofreció un reemplazo o reembolso. Cobró el precio completo cuando llegó la factura a pesar de no comer nada de ella.

Good coffee and friendly staff but my god was the service terrible. Went in to order got told they would come to me - fine. Came to my table literally 17 minutes later and then it took about 20 minutes for two ived lattes. Went in to pay and £8.50 for two ived lattes - felt very overpriced

We visited as a family with three kids 6,9,12 for brunch and we were so delighted we decided to stop here for an unplanned visit. It is now on my list to visit whenever we are in the city again. Faultless experience, really lovely welcoming staff, attentive and friendly. Decor to our taste. Considering the size of the kitchen, the food was produced to a high quality and in perfect time. The kids also enjoyed the smoothies. Each of us adored our menu choice with even some plate licking at the end! the kids had the scottish breakfast, biscoff waffles, banana pancakes with toffee (was amazing) I had the eggs 1001 and cant stop thinking about it, as a vegetarian i really appreciated this option it was just perfect. My husband ordered the eggs mexicana and likewise said its the best breakfast hes ever had and really rated the chorizo especially. Cant wait to revist

Have been here a couple of times now.The service is brilliant, very warm and attentive. Shout to Nico who looked after me on this visit. I was on my own, had a coffee and a bagel. Enjoyed the coffee so much I ordered a second one. It was delicious. Even mentioned it to some people coming in when I was on the way out. This is a lovely wee place on the southside of Glasgow. Thank you so much. Will be back again xxx

We had French Toast with fruit, French toast with maple bacon and a veggie stack. All 3 were excellent. Service was super quick and our waitress Jenny was very efficient and friendly. Would definitely recommend trying this out

Visited this afternoon. The place is filthy. I actually had to avoid sitting on one of the chairs due to the crumbs and dirt on it. The floor was covered in food and crumbs. The coffee and walnut cake was definitely stale. What a shame! Will not be back.

Visited this Sunday morning and after a very efficient welcome at 11:58 to be seated and my drink order of black coffee taken with the" we will bring drink and then take food order".Thats where customer service ended. The coffe came but had to ask several times for my food order -(truffle scrambled eggs )was taken at 12 07 and was delivered at 12:52 After I asked the young waitress about it I was advised at 12:50 it was being made "right this second" The place was not that busy and there was sufficient staff to take orders but so laid back although efficient at clearing tables to create space for more customers to wait,wait and wait Perhaps they should drop the Hugs not that there was any and concentrate on the mugs and get them to the customer quicker and perhaps rather than 4 servers employ more cooks.So if you want a quick drink this is the place but for anything else be prepared for the long wait .The food when it arrived was nice although the truffle and parmasan were so minute if they were in it at all .Overall a miserable brunch

Have been intrigued by this place since it opened but finally made the effort to visit and glad we did. The seating inside is limited and a little close together but if that’s not your thing they have lots of outdoor seating. The menu was much bigger than expected and the food was fantastic. Great for brunch/lunch. The staff were friendly and efficient, will definitely be back.

We popped in here for a quick coffee but the menu looked so good we thought we’d have a bite to eat too. The surroundings were very pleasing on the eye. The service was quick without being pushy, which I like. Our food was delivered and WOW, what a feast for the eye. Upon tasting we were not disappointed. Coffee was good too. All in, this is a real find. I would 100% recommend visiting if you like tasty food at good prices. Located at the entrance to Queens Park, 1001 Pollokshaws Road in Glasgow’s south side.

A cosy and friendly cafe on the edge of Queens Park - you almost feel you are in the woods as the cafe is surrounded by magnificent trees. Food is excellent and they play wonderful music. A real find. 💯 👏

This place was opened in the spring. It was converted from a derelict public toilet! Now a modern timber-clad venue stands in the shade of magnificent beech trees at the western end of Queen's Park. From meet-and-greet to leaving, it's a great experience. The coffee is excellent, and the pastries top quality. The atmosphere is buzzy and bright, with a young clientele. Hugs&Mugs is a fine enhancement to what is a rather shabby part of town, and a real asset to the park itself.
