Visited here with my 1 year old niece. We arrived 5 mins before it opened which wasn’t a problem but when the door open you weren’t allowed to enter until the tables had been placed out and the signs ( sure this should of been set and ready to go before opening wasn’t like the ladies were doing anything else inside but talking prior to opening) I ordered eggs on toast and wanted some sausages for my niece as she had already had her cereal at home but nope they don’t sell sausages to purchase sausages I would then have to buy a sausage on toast 🤔 what the hell you can not buy individual items for babies or to add to your meal extras. The staff are rude I’m a waitress in a very busy restaurant and would never dream to be rude like these members of staff customers are who pay your wages and without them the place would not be open these staff members really need a lesson in customer service won’t be back

Went with my nine-year old granddaughter (on a school strike day) and there was a good choice of light lunch menu for her and for me. Friendly and efficient service. Worthy of recommendation.

Plenty of tables and space inside and out. Refused to serves us because we were a group of four, no explanation gives but brusque and rudely dismissed. Not long afterwards we saw a similar group of four duly welcomed in and led to sit down.

I attended this café for the first time today with two friends and our children intent on having some brunch. The café was empty which meant we were able to socially distance in line with the recent guidelines. Unfortunately we were told to sit together as they didn't want us taking up three tables for just three drinks. Needless to say we didn't stay. It was dissapointing to say the least, why was it assumed we would only get a drink? Why should that matter even if it was the case? Would they put other people together who they assumed would only order a drink? Who would be paying our fine?! I don't expect to visit again.

3rd visit to this cafe and not particularly good experience on any of the visits. Asked for a BLT and was informed by the officious owner they don’t do BLT, despite the fact that they have bacon, toast , lettuce & tomato in different items on the menu. This is a shame as my elderly mother in-law prefers this type of cafe rather than Costa coffee however, won’t visit again.

Visited Hudson’s today, I am really keen to support local businesses rather than going to big chains. Suffice to say I will not be visiting this cafe any longer. I asked for cream in my coffee only to be told” no we only do milk” I suggested that they use aquieta cram for hot chocolates could I please have that. Which they obliged. My mum ordered food and I wasn’t ready to order mine. I smelled their sausages which smelled lovely and went to the counter to ask for sausages and eggs, both of which they do with baps- just I dont want the bap, I can’t eat bread. I’m willing to pay for separate meals. Can I order sauasages with egg? No “No we can’t do that if we do it for you we will have to do it for everyone else.” “ why dont you order the omelette?” I was really sad, I felt like I was talked to like I was a piece of dirt. It’s a shame because other family members really likes going there but I won’t be able to return there again after this experience. This is not the first time I have been there and been tested this way sadly...

Good food but depressing environment with poor lighting and indifferent customer service . We went in for a late breakfast because the Board cafe was full. There is a good choice on the menu and plenty of food on the plate but had to collect our coffee when there were 3 staff available to serve.

So I am a student at Manchester Metropolitan University and I am a local lad who lives with his parents in Cheadle Hulme. On Saturday 30th November 19 I decided to go into the village and find somewhere to work. I stumbled across Costa however my internet wouldn't work in there and it was so loud as it was absolute pandemonium. So I immediately went across the way and found Hudson's. It was bliss, working internet, nice and peaceful & lovely clientele. I stayed in their for 4 hours ordering two drinks and a ham and cheese toasty. I thought to myself that this is a lovely base of operations for my uni work. Today is the 4th December 19 and this literally just happened. I decided to go to do some work again and I got to Hudsons for 12pm. I immediately ordered a hot chocolate upon arrival. 30 minutes in my brother arrived and he to ordered a coffee before having to leave. It was 1:20pm, I was completely minding my own business and happily working away with my headphones in when the owner of the coffee shop came over and tapped me on the shoulder. She said "if you're not going to order anything then you need to leave. " I responded saying "I've already ordered a drink and I plan to order food i'm just not hungry yet." She then said in a really snipey tone "well you are using my internet." So without hesitation I packed up my things, told her how rude she'd been and headed straight back to Costa opposite. The atmosphere and the internet were the factors that attracted me to work there in the first place. I fully understand that orders need to be taken but I believe the orders I had made so far (especially for one person) covered the amount of time I'd spent in there. Not to mention that I was planning on spending many more hours in there over the coming weeks and as a result spending much more money getting my lunch and drinks. I can't believe that someone running an independent coffee shop opposite a huge chain like Costa would talk to one of their customers like that. I don't plan on going back and I will continue to do my uni work in Costa from now on.

Chose local over Costas right opposite. Wish I hadn’t bothered. Hostile attitude when I accidentally knocked my milk jug over. Of course I was apologetic but it didn’t cut much ice. The owner (?) seemed pleasant enough to the regulars so must have been my Southern accent that she took exception to! Tea cake had negligible amounts of currants - just bread really. Won’t be returning. At least in the chains you get a fairly consistent level of pleasant customer service.

Been in a couple of times for lunch and had sandwiches, pate and the soups. All of them were very nice and the large pots of tea did a really decent two large cups each. The pate and toast was really good. No wonder it sold out one day ! Really nice pleasant staff and very clean place too ! Will be going again while temporarily based in Cheadle Hulme

Tried this cafe as my friend uses it about once a week so asked if they had gift vouchers - sadly not . If I was the owner I would have signed the back of a business card . I was prepared to pay £40 as a suitable gift . My husband ordered a bacon sandwich and instead of a set price he was asked how many rashers of bacon he wanted . This really bumped the price of it up . Me - I far prefer Costa 1 min away for my coffee . I didn't find the place that friendly .

I visited Hudson's for breakfast this morning and couldn't fault it. The whole coffee shop is beautifully clean and well presented with a choice of deep settees or quaint tables and chairs to sit at. The décor is quirky. The cakes are all home made. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast is cooked to order so a few minutes wait can be expected. It was worth the wait though. The poached eggs were done to perfection, the bacon barms were stuffed to the edge full delicious, excellent quality bacon. We were offered hot water to add to the tea pot which doesn't happen often these days in cafes. All in all, if you visit Cheadle Hulme centre, Hudson's in the precinct is the place to go. It is an independent little place with a family feel.

I've now eaten in here three or four times since moving to Cheadle Hulme and i have always had a good experience. The food is made fresh and is very tasty and the portions and pricing are good. There is quite a small menu but it does cater for most peoples needs and the staff have always been very pleasant and helpful in my experience. I would definitely say skip costa and visit here next time your in Cheadle Hulme.

Called in for lunch. Average menu, dull lighting, no atmosphere and unfriendly staff. We ordered poached egg & bacon and a cheese toastie. The poached egg was hard and toast burnt. I like to support local independent businesses and had been told this was a nice place that had good home made cakes. Very disappointing, I passed on the cakes as they were totally uninspiring and looked stale. I shan't be returning nor would I recommend this cafe. A little more effort and a smile wouldn't go amiss.

Father Christmas experience... When you book it says no prams. However I'd advise you do bring your pram instead of struggling like me. Didn't even get to see father Christmas as he was so distressed, but had we ignored the rules like everyone else in the group and just brought our pram in we would've been fine! Terrible customer service nowhere near as good as last year, definitely won't be returning next year

Open until 1? Ordered at 12:15, asked to pour into plastic cups by 12:30, and moved out by 12:40, worse service ever.
