Morrisons Cafe in Stockport

God awful experience. no cups no teapots no milk no teabags no cutlery no coffee. It was 11.45am so no excuse. They Had run out or weren't serving certain items. breakfast arrived swimming in oil, turkey Christmas Dinner was seriously so bad I couldn't eat it, my friend said let's.swop after 1 mouthful he said sorry even I can't eat that and he would.eat roadkill if served . Everything in the plate was rock hard and chewy as if yesyerdays and to serve a roast dinner without gravy is just wring in my book. Place.was dirty and staff seem to.want to do the least they can whilst maintaining their surly demeanour. Empty tables full.of plates. serious lack of.management. I remember years ago it was a great place to get a bite. Having said that I feel that Morrisons in general has taken a nose dive. Supermarkets seem.grubby and overpriced nowadays and I tend not to shop there anymore.

I went for breakfast at about 10.30. There was no one on the till when I went to the cafe and I had to wait for 5 minutes for a member of staff to go on the till. There was a few people in front of me. I ordered the ultimate breakfast. There was no teabags in the caddy. Why was this not filled before the cafe opened???. There was hardly any milk,again why was this not filled up. Sure this is part and parcel of opening up? When I finally got served the girl was pleasant. The breakfast came very quickly and was very tasty. But it was only just warm. I go to the Southport Morrisons cafe quite often and it is a very different experience. The food is always piping hot. I won't be rushing back

Absolute chaos tables not cleared no cups(have to have take out ones) . Packed out today this is as bad as the Denton store. Only one coffee machine working and know its now 2 weeks since they came to repair it. Get your act together Morrisons we won't be coming to the cafe ever again.

Sit down to a dirty table not even cleaned after the people before asked to get it cleaned 15mins no one here to clean it asked for cloth and spray to do it myself then they decided to do it hope they dont do it like that in there own house ended up doing it properly ourselves hygiene level 0

I was very disappointed on my visit today the staff were few and far between and the place was dirty . Ordering food was difficult on the screen and only the main was brought to us apparently you are free to just get the rest yourself, ot would help if this info was on the screen. The food was nice but hygiene and service have put us off.

I took my daughter and two small nieces. We bought two teas and was told there were no cups/mugs and we had to wait 20 mins for them. Our tea pot was then luke warm. There was also lipstick on one mug. We were then served our lunch and told there was no cutlery ready. We again waited for 15 mins. The children then started to eat their meals with their fingers as it was going cold. The table was dirty and we had to ask for it to be wiped. Absolutely disgusting from Morrisons Cafe, Cheadle Heath.

Hello, Have been shopping at this Morrisons for 17 years; having coffees and meals in the cafe for that length of time. Sadly it’s quality has deteriorated . Recently there was a total lack of hot drinks and often the machine is not working. Frequently have to clear up snd wipe the table down yourself. Sandwiches have become a bland, tasteless disappointment. Come on Morrisons you can do better than this xx

This must be one of the worst cafes I have ever been to. No Hot drinks, dirty cutlery no tomato or brown sauce, burnt toast and cold shrivelled bacon. So disgusted i couldnt even bother to complain but i wont be going there again. Apparently theres been no hot water for ages…. Have you thought about your customers at all?

I called in for a coffee and a tea. Disappointed to see the sign saying hot water machine not working. Even more disappointed to see second sign announcing that coffee machines weren't working either. Si a café with no hot drinks at all! Cake was ok but needed a hot drink to go with it. Young man at the till saud,"There's been no hot water or coffee for a while now." How can a major supermarket operator, with a large store, allow that state of affairs to persist? Gives no confidence at all regarding their wider efficiency and effectiveness beyond the café.

I was in a rush and unable to go to one of my place. I normally go to eat so as i was in morrisons i decided to have a quick bite of food here it was very quiet only about 7 customers in it took a while to order my food at the counter as there was no one there.i had to shout in the back where someone did come after a couple of shouts , i ordered scampi chips and peas bread and butter and a tea and muffin.i sat down to wait . When it came the peas looked like they had been recooked a few times and where cold the batter on the scampi was rock hard and you could see where the food had been probed with holes in the scampi. The chips were ok but not very hot , all in all not a good expierence i have since wrote to morrisons as did not have time to wait to complain will not go back

I last went on about the surly staff and dirty cutlery. The staff have improved, the cafe looks brighter and cleaner, the food is still OK and the prices good. The cutlery is a disgrace, the incomprehensible computer ordering system is still as bad (e.g. asks you to choose your order number instead of your table number). Ordering a pot of specialty tea results in you searching for an empty pot and a tea bag that isn't peppermint. The cups were non existent and the mugs were dirty.

This review is actually about the supermarket itself!!!! I went early this morning to get my shop done as I have a 9month old baby and we had been up very early, however I found that most departments/ counters didn’t open until 9 which is disgusting when the store opens at 8 why not open everything at the same time!! There was one lady one the till no one on self check out to assist and help. Spillage in isle that had been left unattended which is not acceptable. I will not be returning to this store ever again I’m fed up off the food expiring on the same day, when most people including myself come to do a weekly shop and expect it to last longer than a day. Staff are unhelpful and sometimes rude. Limited stock and now things not even open at the correct time!!!! It’s not even reasonably priced anymore. Might as well go to Waitrose and get better quality. I’ve added the photo of the spillage that not one cleaner attended to whilst I was in store for half an hour waiting for the cook meat counter to open!!!!!!!! Anymore coming with a baby don’t bother the trolleys are so hard to get and not at the front of the store! I would recommend going to Tesco where it’s actually baby and child friendly!

I stopped using the cafe, gave up complaining and sitting for half my life waiting. The availability in the store is also very poor, get in early or go elsewhere, seems to be the policy. The bakery especially is a joke, first thing in the morning or later on, no store made trifles or cakes, because they have no cream !!! Tried other Morrisons, they don't seem to have half the problems Cheadle Heath have...it's off to Aldi l go, make a brew when l get home.

We visited the cafe, at dinner time (midday), but were disappointed in the selection of sandwiches available (only 3: plain ham, cheese & tomato, tuna & sweetcorn). Whilst in the queue, due to the sloping shelf, someone's (an elderly person) tray clattered off, onto the floor; no staff came, so they had to tidy up themselves. When we came to get the hot drinks, there were no mugs left; when we informed the staff, they were not bothered in the slightest. Once we had paid, we were lucky to get a table, as it was packed and there was an insufficient amount of tables for the amount of customers. We visited on a Tuesday, so it must be chaos at the weekend. We wiped the table ourselves, due to tables not being cleared or cleaned, and the cloth used was absolutely filthy (see the photo attached). The cafe is very understaffed. On a more positive note, the sandwich was very nice considering everything else.

I’m crossing my fingers as I do like to combine a cheeky breakfast with an early shop. I too have suffered from the issues raised in other reviews, especially cold/undercooked items. But they seem to have changed things, at least yesterday. Everything was hot, it came out quickly and staff attentive. Please keep it up!!!

Visited for breakfast went Sunday 930 when they opened thinking all would be fresh… stone cold cooked hours before…sent it back… with apologetic lady only to receive a second Cold breakfast…. Absolutely minging swapped our table too as food from previous day in the table....

supermarket cafe. I can only compare to Tesco which is at least cooked to a standard. Everything on the breakfast menu is deep fried and the toast is made a week in advance. There is nothing pleasant about this place

This store (Cheadle heath) is the worse store to go to. Staff are rude, selling items with sell by date gone. Checkout half closed because no staff and the rest on Christmas dinner. Cannot find anyone to complain to and when you do they look...

In an attempt to keep prices down, staff numbers appear to have been drastically cut leaving the remaining staff to deal with confused customers trying to use the incomprehensible computer ordering system, coffee machines that break down, dirty cutlery and no napkins or milk containers....

We called in for drink one tea and one chocolate, no chocolate for last 2 to three months. The cups for the tea had to be sorted through to find two clean cups we put to one side five dirty ones the tables were dirty I cleaned ours looked around and many were dirty This used to be an excellent cafe now's it's a dreadful cafe. One to be avoided

I don't know what has happened to this Morrisons the breakfast used to be nice, I ordered a large breakfast with black pudding, the sausages were blacker than the pudding ,the bacon looked as if it had been dipped in boiling water for 30 secs the egg was like a bullet, when I asked for the bacon to be cooked some more, she was back with it in less than a min ,it had been thrown in the deep fat fryer an all shriveled up. I will never eat there again it was awful and the whole place was so filthy .

Visited here today for lunch to find dirty trays, long queues for drinks after ordering food, no cups available only offered paper cups, no milks, had to ask for cutlery as none out.

this café is a total shambles went in for a drink what a mistake no orange either bottle or machine ask for lathe havnt got any coffee machines not working tables full dirty pots you can often go in and find in uproar tables dirty never wiped dirty pots everywhere its not the staff some off them looked really pissed off they are short of staff somebody needs to tell the boss get customer service sorted and supply it

When you are a cafe inside a shop but you have no bacon or carrots baffles me

Visited the cafe with a colleague for food after working in the area. The tables were dirty, the choices weren't great and the quality of the food was poor. I would not recommend or use this venue again.

You can have a late lunch here that will last you all day, quality good and quantity good. All staff in Morrison’s are very pleasant as always. Excellent value

For the last three weeks we have been shopping at morrisons cheadle heath. However a few of the goods are out of date. Most of these goods are 3 for £x. And some are buy one get one free. They have been out of date by three weeks. Yet same offers at Tesco and asda are all in date. It's time this store sacked the people concerned. It's been going down for months now

Dirty tables. Dirty cutlery. Unhelpful staff. No sugar free drinks. Food barely warm. No apologies for meals not available. Stupidly long wait for poor food. Other than that - OK.

Called here today have had breakfast many times and most times it’s been nice. Today I ordered chips ,egg and raw onion.

Went for brunch - good selection on menu and prices reasonable but long queue to put in order - only one person on a till. Food took a long time to come out but was hot and portion sizes OK.

Not sure if it's poor quality food or the cooking of it. Went every Friday after doing weekly shop and tried every meal to find a good one but couldn't . Sandwiches weren't too bad.

Went to Morrisons cafe ordered two small breakfasts waited and waited until I asked the lady on the till where was the order we had ordered them at 10.30 and it was 10.55 she went in the back and brought them out they were stone cold so waited for another one we were still waiting at 11.15 so asked for a refund then we spotted a manager told him he said he would ask the restaurant manager about our complaint but we never saw him again terrible service would think twice about eating there again doesn't even rate one star about time management got their act together

Disgusting cafe, honestly never been to a cafe so filthy before. Trays, cutlery, tables, floor, everything is the pits. I keep giving it chances after thinking maybe they was just having a bad day, but never again will i visit here. There is never any staff clearing tables, so if you look around most tables are full of peoples left overs. I ordered just one bowl of soup and it too more than 45 minutes to arrive. The made up sandwiches are disgusting, soggy bread, messy and don't look freshly made as stated. Something really does need to be done about this cafe its embarrassing for your company.

We have been coming here since it opened most of the staff are really nice we came for lunch Thursday 22nd of Feb where to start really dirty when it came the fish was so tiny soup without croutons which would have been ok if the lady had not said well you don't pay for them anyway we got our money back for the fish and chips small fish large price feel really sorry for the staff who have been there for a long time had problems before but thought we would give another won't be coming again but thank you to some of the really good staff few and far between

Came to Stockport for short break and early evening needed few supplies looked up local superstores and found this one 6 o’clock and just ordered sausage egg and chips and a quick drink it’s nice to know that meals are just like home great cafe and welcoming staff thank-you may be a while before we visit you again but will look out for Morrison’s stores when we go on our travels reasonable prices and guaranteed quality food

Same story as a lot of other reviews everywhere looked dirty tables very messy no coffee cups when they arrived they were marked with lipstick and tea stains .ordered soup it took nearly 45 mins sandwiches were soggy and stuck together . This is the worst cafe within a supermarket I've been to . Staff are not trained on cleanliness . All in all it needs to have a massive improvement .

Waited over 40 minutes today for my eggs benedict only to be told that they had no eggs left-unbelievable a supermarket with no eggs. Offered mine out of the trolley but thought better of it considering how long I had already been there. Demanded a refund and made certain I got it. Place is a complete shambles and I don’t think the staff are at all concerned. Can certainly understand why profits were down last quarter. Give this cafeteria a wide berth

Been going to café for years but since refurbishment the service has been terrible, continually short staffed, never have the salmon that is advertised on the menu, staff cannot do the work because they are overworked, tables not cleared etc. I feel so sorry for the staff. Café looks nice but poor management. Used to go every week to Morrisons but now maybe once a month.

First. Some people WHO Come to these cafes don't understand the pressure the staff are under people get told there is a 15.20 minute and they say yes that's fine then start moaning when they don't get there food in 5 minutes or say I haven't been told there's a wait. Second some of you people want to spend one hour in there shoes and then you will know what they have to put up with the abuse the staff get is disgusting third if it's that bad WHY keep coming back go home and make your piece of toast this rant is not just for this cafe BUT all Morrison's cafes

I came for a quick lunch however the queue was ridiculously long so I had to stand for ages. When I got to the dessert part there was no plates to put my cake on and I didn't want to lose my place looking for someone so I went without this has also happened before. When I finally got to the till they didn't have what I wanted so had to quickly change my mind. Service for coffee is self service and the beans had run out so we all had to wait and another queue formed. Got to a table but the seat was full of crumbs so changed tables waited over half an hour for food. They said they were short staffed again so I was not happy with my visit and wont be back soon.

This is one of those frustratingly busy places especially when you have to queue for a long time and there is only one till point. Its not good enough. Most of the staff are helpful and willing but it is obvious that some require re-training. The tables are often dirty and the collection trays appear to be always full. No management direction ad worse; it has been like this for a long time. Poor, avoid if possible.

Myself and my fiancé stopped for a spot of lunch before our shop, as we'd had a busy day. The cafe was disgusting, filthy & the 'clean' tables were sticky. I asked for something to clean with and was offered water?!

Been going in there for quite a few years. Last 12 months been going down hill fast. On our resent visit was discussed by the filthy trays, tables. Also the serving area for drinks is absolutely disgusting. Dirty cutlery. No milk, napkins, teaspoons. Complained, it was a couldn't care less attitude from the staff. My friend and I often have lunch out on our shopping trips, and recently we have been having Pub or restaurant food. However, as lunchtime approached and we were in Morrisons we were drawn to their offer of a 3 course Christmas lunch, with all the trimmings for £7.. Remembering a pot of tea is also a great accompaniment for £1.

Eaten here a few times, and although it's reasonably cheap, it is nothing special. the food is average at best. Ok for an occasional visit.

The cafe in Morrison's has a varied menu to choose from and tea and coffee machines also cold drinks machine.

I wanted veggie sausages with scrambled eggs, no sausages so I opted for beans. Almost half an hour later I received an inedible plate of regurgitated vomit. I returned the food immediately stating that the taste was peculiar, I was informed that this was common, and that the eggs are cooked 'elsewhere and reheated here'. I opted for a refund rather than risk more disappointment.

After locking ourselves out of our house this seemed a logical, and nearby place to go while we waited for the neighbour to turn up with the spare key. One of us is 2 years old and so somewhere informal like this is good. And there are rides in the foyer.

Visted with a friend after shopping...we both chose Breakfast Ommelette served with mushrooms tomato and baked beans good portions, Strawberries and Cream, and Coffees on a partial self serve basis, hot food was served to the table by very pleasant & helpful staff, very good food not greasy and reasonably priced @ just over £12 for 2 people.....Have been before love the cakes too especially the Chocolate Lumpy Bumpy Cake. I will be back before long.

Came here a few weeks ago to do a quick shop with my wife and baby. There is a basic menu to suit nearly everyone from a quick snack to a basic roast dinner. We've been here a few times over the past two years or so for a lunch or dinner whilst doing the family shop. It's not a Michelin star restaurant, it's a supermarket restaurant. The food is basic, edible and pretty good. The menu seems to have stayed the same over the past couple of years which suits me :) The hunters chicken is my favourite to be honest. The service has always been up to scratch and the new refurbishment has made an overall improvement. A great place to stop off for a snack, quick drive-by meal before that meeting or trip back home. Will be visiting again.

I was having a meeting close by & got there an hour early. Not knowing the area I popped into morrisons for breakfast. I ordered eggs benedict & a pot of tea. Now at £3.50 it's very reasonable & i did wonder what I'd get. When it finally came about half an hour later it looked very nice however the eggs were solid. They looked like 2 hard boiled eggs . I asked the waitress who went on to tell me the eggs come pre cooked & they cook them again!!

Stopped here while I was getting my car repaired, was surprisingly nice and cheap too I had the macaroni cheese with chips

If there was an award for worst cafe then this morrisons would win. After a recent face-lift we decided to give it another go. The place was filthy. No clean tables. No menus, 25 minute wait for food. No soup, no milk in coffee machine. We settled for a sandwich. Even worse. Soggy bread had to peel the slices apart. Lots of customers complaining the only excuse was short staffed. The few on duty looked 17-19 at the most. Never coming here again.

We all had Lasagne as the main meal but had different starters = two of us had the salt beef starter and one had garlic bread.

With The Ivy closed for refurbishment and about 200 miles away, Mum and I went to the local Morrisons to see what their cafe was like.
