Asda in Stockport

Totally hit and miss, this store. Sometimes they have everything and exactly what you need. Sometimes it seems like the shelves have been stripped bare and it's like Covid all over again! But regardless, the staff are always friendly, helpful and usually apoplectic, even if they do have everything you want (because it's not where it usually is LOL). The only problem is ... all the other customers!

Went in here for weekly biccies and left dissatisfied. Escalators has been dysfunctional for approx 6 years, so we have to walk up what we like to call ‘dingefest’. In dingefest, it always has the strong aroma of urine, as hooligans and ne’er do wells always urinate on the walls. Once you conquer dingefest, you will be met by the prim guardian herself, who has been foretold in the tales of old. She will protect her treasure at all costs. We came in looking for some stroop waffles, but left dissatisfied, as the shop floor was stroopless. The prim guardian kept the stroopage from us, or so it may seem. Shop was good for doing 360 jumps, but brother slipped and put his hand on the urine infested soiled wall in dingefest. We are currently taking him to be checked up on at the latest hospital. Overall, this shop is really unsatisfactory, being stroopless and having it so that the only way to get to the shop on foot is dingefest, or the dingy lift, that I have been told a hooligan awaits urinating on the floor. Some call him a stockport legend. The bakery is high quality, and the 360 standing jumps are fruitful, apart from when you put your hand on the wee wee wall.

Ok, staff a little unhelpful. I was using self-service it took a while to get assistance they were unmanned. When someone came they seemed a little bothered by needing to help. But I have had many good experiences too :)

Great. Very big Asda. I got confused in the car park afterwards though as it’s in two parts and I went into the wrong one.

Good Variety Good Value Pleasent Staff

This Asda is not the best and has seen better days. The lift is often out of service and when it's open it takes forever to close the doors. When you're out of the lift on the first floor there are one way barriers that again are difficult to use. Once you're in shopping it's OK I suppose

Much better than other ones in the area. Every time I go it's stress free and quiet. Always stocked up. Much more pleasurable experience than others.

The staff are all lovely and helpful, the store has improved a lot, they just need a night shift to fill up .

Not enough staff , security staff just keep staring and following customers because of their colour ( 1 skinny beard guy and one very young guy with body cam ) that’s a shame Asda management should wake up

Big Asda store, plenty of underground parking. Parking is free for 2 hours and you can walk straight into Stockport town for other shopping - very convenient

I always do my weekly shop here and I rarely have any issues. The staff are great, it's generally well stocked. Opening hours are good and even at its busiest it's easy to shop here. There's probably a better range at some other places but for day to day this place has everything needed. Free parking for 2 hours and never had a problem getting a space.

Plenty of parking, shelves well stocked and plenty of staffing around. My only gripe is the signage for the car parks is poor and the lighting is dreadful on the harsh bend on the upper level car park. Additionally some very slippery tiles on the lower car park when exiting on foot. Other than that 2h free parking with no minimum spend bonus!

Store layout is a bit weird with no clear signs for entry

Food, alcohol, clothing, stationary and household products. This store seems to have less choice of products on the shelves and many of the lower price, own brand products seem to have been discontinued or out of stock. Good parking, toilet facilities in store. There are multiple access points, two one of which is situated inside the exit door on Warren Street, the other is in the muti story car park. There is also a ramp situated on Millgate. The escalators here no lo get operate to allow entry.

No lifts working ,only long steep walkway to and from store with heavy shopping bags to car park on ground floor

Little Moor area ,Delivery driver had to help an elderly man who'd fallen in his hallway Above & Beyond indeed ,He put the person's order in the fridge for him, A Splendid Fellow

A very small Asda always out of stock

Probably the worst asda I've visited. Store is very date and carpark is falling to pieces. The entrance from the lover level car park consists of numerous slopes and remind me of dark alleys in the idle of the night I own a van and unable to enter carpark underground or upper lever due to hight restrictions.

It's hard to find products that are mixed up

Clean cafe, good food & reasonable prices. Store was clean & tidy; friendly & helpful staff.

I like this asda because not only does it have a wide variety of things to buy but because the staff have always been nice and there is a baby changing room that is big enough for a pram, with a builtin changing table, a toilet and a sink. This makes trips there so much easier if you have little ones.

The escalators are working again so that's a massive help to get in and out of the store.

Good range of products. Not quite as cheap as Aldi. The escalator has finally been fixed.

Never anyone on pizza counter and when you do find someone it's like you're an inconvenience to them, better now the escalator is reopen

Awful place. It’s like going into 1960s East Germany. The lighting, the atmosphere are awful. Parking was dreadful. Finding the entrance was difficult. How can you spend time reviewing a supermarket but this was dreadful. I actually walked past the place today and needed something that I can only get in Asda. I walked past and will go to another branch. It’s not the staff, it’s not the company but it’s the premises. Knock it down and start again.

A terrible experience at the self service till today 1 young girl telling me use this till another came along as something wouldn't scan telling me use the other side I said your colleague told me use this 1 her reply was no she didn't !! No manners at all after feeling overwhelmed i just left my shopping in the store I definitely will not visit again ...

It's a MAZE to get in and out but when you find the store, it's good, staff are friendly( as was the security guard who followed for a few isles) (AND I never go through those self-serve, I wanna speak and smile to someone,have a bit of BANTER with and listen to mothers trying to keep hold of her children whilst smiling,everyone looking pee'd off at the same time, EXCELLENT SHOP (MIND I ONLY GO IN ONCE A MONTH)!!!!.......

Ok store. Sometimes you need to watch the dates as out of date stock is being sold.

Unfortunately this Asda has rapidly declined. There's barely any stock, even with pallets of stock scattered about the shop floor. I've now witnessed first hand how the shelves are being stocked. I don't think staff have been trained on how to stock rotate. This would explain why I come to buy stuff with very little 'long' life date on them. I actually asked a staff member and all I got in response was "it doesn't matter, it's all got long life dates on them!" I said, "no. The new stuff goes at the back, the oolder stuff comes to the front. It's called stock Rotation." The worker didn't seemed bothered at all. I've worked in retail for many years. The first think I learnt was how to stock rotate. Half the time I find so much stuff in the wrong places, like they've just been dumped there. Absolutely disappointed 😞

The store itself looks dated. They have eventually opened the front escalators. Young people have never seen them in use.

Has most things in depending on which day and time you visit. Tend to have a few on- line shoppers which cramp the place sometimes. 🤔 Still good value.

Store is a little dated and not the biggest Asda. But never had issues here

I returned an item a month ago and have still not received a refund. I made an enquiry via phone call was left waiting for 35 minutes and even after such a long wait the phone was never answered. I will never be shopping at this branch ever again and the customer service is not good. I am very unhappy with both the customer service and refund & return policy.

Ordered 2 full English breakfast and it wasn't up to standered, everything was well over cooked and hard to eat. And wasn't worth Monday we all paid for our breakfast. Won't be going back for sure.

Asda Stockport town centre, you keep changing your entrances . I have to look lost every time. Anyway you can stop the peek-a-boo pls! Also too many substitutes for online shopping. Sure logistics can do something. We expect the things we order for a reason!

Good parking, huge store with all you need

OK layout as far as supermarkets go. Most items held in stock and a few SALE stands scattered around the shop for bargains. Good amount of parking spaces available but, the layout of this could put you in one of the many spaces that can be a blinds pot for getting out of alone. The parking used to be £1 although recently that has changed and you are allowed 2 hours for free. The cafe is set at the front of the store with ample seating but, on a few occasions the actual cafe has slim pickings available for food choice. There are toilets just across from here, located next to the (E)cigarette and lottery counter. Decent size George and range of clothes and what you would expect from a tech department for games/dvds/blurays in the 21st century. There are a number of manned tills with staff on them. There are some scan and go tills and some trolley tills as well as basket tills. All of which are managed by at least one person in each section in the day and a few people towards busier periods. Good location at one end of Stockport and the precinct make it ideal for nipping in on the way home. Staff are friendly and happy to help. Click & Collect experience was OK, though I was left ringing the bell for 10-15 minutes until someone finally arrived. It did seem that they were loading vans for deliveries but to have it properly manned for customers that have come to the store. Would be a little wiser. Overall a happy experience everytime I visit and you're guaranteed most of your groceries are available.

This Saturday, 07/20, around 7:00 p.m., I went shopping at this branch and the cashier who served my group of friends and me (all adults around 30 years old) did not want to sell me alcohol. Being positive, I try to think that it was not a racist/homophobic incident, however, after looking very contemptuously at my partner and me, he asked us for an identity document, I gave it to him (I am South American with an EU residence permit, I am visiting UK) since my companion was not carrying it, she takes it and looks at it very carefully, as if it were fake, she ran her nails over it trying to remove something and basically tells us: if one of the group does not carry their ID I'm not going to sell them. I thought it was a joke, but no. I just went back in supermarket and went through the self-service are no problem. How does it work if I have a baby? They won't sell to me because it doesn't have an ID? How do you know that my companion drinks alcohol? This type of behavior is not acceptable at all, especially not in a supermarket chain that advocates tolerance, good service and quality delivered to its clients. I try to think that she just wanted to be correct but this crossed any kind of boundaries.

This place is going down the pan fast, shelves not stocked regularly and shabby

Asda has gone down hill but prices sky high was shocked to see coffee gone up to £9.90 a large jar 2 days ago £6.00 Medium jar 100 grams less £4.50 at least Sick Turpin wore a mask

Located in the centre of Stockport and a great price shopping shop. This Asda has most things you would need including a pharmacy in store. Decent fresh fruit and veg area. The store still sells media such as films and games.

It's a rediculous route to actually get in to the store, reminds me of an escape room challenge except you can't get in. The home section is awful, never stocked with the things you see online. For me the worst bit of this store is that all the staff are beyond rude, they stand around chatting at the self service section rather than helping shoppers and doing their jobs.

I've got to say, I've been and had many full English breakfasts. This is the worst meal I have ever been served, the black pudding needed a chainsaw to cut, the bacon I'm sure was still alive. Did feel sorry for the lady doing the cooking on her own , as the lad serving at till didn't get a single order right.Either shut it down, or get more staff

I don't know what it is about this store but it's not for me. The aisles seem smaller, the clothes section is a shambles. The lift is a nightmare. Rather go out of my way and Shop at Asda Aston totally different vibe and a breeze to walk round and seem to be well stocked

We enjoy shopping here. The aisles are wide so you can shop with no pressure or banging into people, staff are very helpful. And enough tills open so you don't have to wait long to be served.

It's asda so no surprise in what they sell. This one's in the mide of town so convenient but scruffy, much prefer the Hyde store

It’s hard to get into, the staff have been ruder over time, and it’s really hard leaving the place due to how narrow yet crowded everything is with blind spots… if I want an unpleasant shopping experience then I come here

Usual Asda shop. It’s in need of a major renovation, the outside is scruffy and full of moss. The inside is tired and dated.

Asda is always good value for your money. Sometimes it is hard to find all the items you want, because it's such quality. If you have a problem, return it with your receipt money back no problems.

Prices are good especially if you follow the reward scheme, good qua food and groceries, although the building is a bit confusing, not very handy

The exit and entrance for pedestrians are difficult to find and follow. Clear signage not provided.

ASDA is ASDA. But, in the scheme of things this large supermarket is remarkable by how awkward it is to access from the street level. Once upon a time there was an escalator. Now, access is via slow and woefully small lifts. Otherwise, just an average ASDA.

Being disabled I need somewhere I can park when either I need to pop in for something or my family do ,it's also useful due to the free ATM, and close proximity to the disabled parking bays , unfortunately since covid there can be empty spaces on shelves ,

The way into the store as a pedestrian is awful. Lift is tiny and slow. Only other way in is via a ramp. It does not feel safe. Store itself is okay.

This store is often cluttered with so many delivery pallets that you can't reach some shelves. Also makes getting around the store with a wheelchair or scooter really difficult. Also, they don't often stock 2 pint milk.

Great staff, always great for a good chat and most are very friendly and helpful. Don't buy flowers from there though. Numerous times they haven't opened or are dead already but appear fresh. Although when I returned them the flower and veg guy was very nice and accommodating and replaced them with some lovely ones.

Very popular, very busy, very large supermarket offering great convenience to all customers with great support and help for elderly, disabled and young mums. Very friendly staff and atmosphere.
