Shocking. Absolutely shocking. As soon as we entered the function room, we realised there weren’t enough seats. There were people having to sit in the corner of the room without a table. We noticed the “continental style” breakfast, which consisted of cheap white bread, the cheapest coffee I have ever tasted, and boxes of cereal. Sitting down, we sat patiently waiting for our full English breakfasts, which never arrived. We were in awe at how much we paid for the tickets, for the worst “continental” breakfast. The music kept cutting out, and the “entertainer” sang two songs - badly - which weren’t even Christmas songs. The “Santa’s grotto” was a sheet stuck up in the corner of the room, and he was absolutely horrendous. Super awkward and couldn’t hold a conversation with my daughter. She was gifted a Terry’s Chocolate Orange. Zero magic. Zero fun. Empty Stomachs.

Had a lovely meal at the dolce vita thought we would pop in the navigation for one drink before heading home. Walked in and told "we're shut, that's why the curtains are closed!" It's Friday night and only just passed 9pm ....we were totally gobsmacked by her stern unprofessional attitude. We just turned round and walked away. As we walked out a group of around 8 people made their way in, we told them that we had been turned away because they were closed. Guess what they all got served. Rudest woman I have ever met, unprofessional and obnoxious. Pubs are a dying trade you should be grateful for every person that steps foot in your pub. Disgusting

Nice pub, but disco night on a Saturday is too loud. It made us leave as quickly as we could. I could understand it if people were dancing, but while we were there no-one was, Infact a lot of people were sitting in a room with us where the door could be closed and were also saying it was too much. It was even difficult to order a drink as it was so loud. Such a shame as its a nice pub, but I really didn't want to stay somewhere so loud!

I have known the Navigation for many years it used to be a classy pub albeit with a small c. Marple band used to practice upstairs and the mainly mature clientele made this a nice pub to visit.fast forward to last week and on a visit with friends we were met with the loudest music possible, the pub was empty apart from 3 Jeremy Kyle types on day release holding the bar up. We ordered drinks and I had a pint of Robinson's Dizzy Blonde which I had to return as it was sour so were the other beers so I ended up drinking draught Guinness always a safe bet. The barman had all the grace of a Dignitas staff member when I complained his answer was "its a new barrel" maybe it was three weeks ago !.We had already decided to leave as the music was that loud we couls not hold a conversation despite asking for it to be turned down it was ramped up again, to our surprise the barman said they were closing at 10 pm thank god I thought by which time the Jeremy types had also gone. I do not know whats gone wrong here Marple is booming with micro bars gin palaces and cocktail bars but sadly it looks like another once good pub will join the ranks of a closed Robinson's pub that litter Stockport. Maybe a tour of once good Robbies closed pubs around Stockport would be a good idea.

We popped into the Navigation for a quick drink after a tiring but enjoyable walk around Roman Lakes. It's a nice enough pub with a largely male clientelle watching the football at this time on a Sunday. We found a quiet room and sat down to peruse the food menu. We weren't expecting to order lunch as last time we visited food wasn't available. We both decided to try the fish and chips which promised a Dizzy Blonde beer batter which sounded good to the pair of us. The type of fish wasn't actually mentioned and it may or may not have been cod. The chips appeared to be frozen and the mushy peas tinned. However, the fish was nice enough and the meal in general filled a hole. The price of £8.95 each seemed a little steep for what you got but there did seem to be a few decent offers available if you chose certain dishes. There also appears to be a ramblers special discount which we weren't offered and didn't enquire about. All in all it was OK but nothing special.

After a walk along the canal in the rain, my mum and I decided to pop into 'The Navi' to warm up with a bite to eat. Despite the bar area being busy, we were warmly greeted and shown to the dining area with a menu - everything on it sounded tempting. I plumped for The Ramblers Special - a warming bowl of homemade soup, a sandwich (I chose sausage) and a pile of chips, it was delicious. My mum posted for the traditional pub treat of scampi and chips, and it was good to see that the scampi was whole tail and not the reformed bites, this was enjoyed too. All in all, we had a tasty, affordable meal in quaint surroundings, and we will definitely be returning.

We called in as we had an hour to wait for a bus connection and although the beer was good it was somewhat overpriced for the area, my wife had filter coffee which she enjoyed. The experience was particularly marred by the fact that the actual bar is quite small and drinkers at the bar ( obviously locals by the conversation ) were reluctant to move so I could access the bar and this fact was totally ignored by the barman and his female helper. They advertise a T bone steak with trimmings for £10.50 which seems good value but I don`t know if it would live up to expectations and I feel the night would be spoilt by the selfish attitude of the bar warmers and indifference of the bar staff

This place is a nightmare, the food choice is poor for starters and expensive for what you get. We chose a table and asked the waitress what the soup was, she looked confused like I had spoken a different language, she had to go check.. We went to the bar to order and had to wait behind a huge group of men who block the bar, eventually we pushed our way to the front, there we met the bar man.. He couldn't work the till, got our order messed up (4 items) and at one point actually walked off to engage in a conversation with one of the bar hoggers part way through my order. Literally just walked off! Shocking! .. The food was awful, the chili was a tiny portion and tasted like it was from a tin. My daughters fish fingers were horrible and grey?? Plus they have a dog that sits at your feet while you eat, I love dogs but I don't expect to share my lunch with one!! Will not be returning here for sure!! On a plus side the food was piping hot so thumbs up for that.. But sadly only that!!

Sunday lunchtime meal (approx. 1pm) - when we sat down, the remains of someone's food was still on the table, Staff were generally unwelcoming and he was unclear about whether they were serving food or not. On the menu it stated that for Sunday lunch, see the board - there was no board. The ordering process was unclear and the food was not good. The 'medium steak' was just a lump of dried meat, the bubble and squeak fishcake was virtually devoid of fish. Overall, a very disappointing meal.
