The Calverts Court in Stockport

Went to Calvert court for breakfast, I don’t expect much it’s a value menu. When the breakfast was served my egg hardly had any white on it.I brought it to the staff’s attention immediately who agreed to bring a full egg out. Approx 20 minutes later 2 eggs were brought to the table. I had finished my breakfast by this time except the little egg as I was concerned why the white had been removed. The person bringing the eggs had served the original breakfast I told him about the very poor reviews on trip and he offered a refund.I declined as that would not improve the problem at my local spoons.MANAGEMENT NEEDS TO MOTIVATE THE STAFF AT THIS PLACE.

I had a pimms pitcher and Katy from the wetherspoon in Stockport called the calverts Court made me the best fruity pimms pitcher ever. Thanks Katy x

It's wetherspoons. It's cheap, it's good, it serves food and cocktails. It does the job it intended too.

What you would expect from a weatherspoons. Quite a decent size

Lovely but the only problem is that some of the staff will not let you out of the back door which is a bit of a pain

The staff range from really nice to really rude — and is one of the few places wherein I’ve actually argued with a staff member, and basically over nothing until I was given the silent treatment 😂 (He wanted to tell me that all beers are brewed in the countries that they say that they’re from which is categorically incorrect; they’re mostly brewed here) It’s not somewhere I make an effort to visit often as it doesn’t have the best of atmospheres, and with it being cheap, people will be more drunk here than most places — but it’s a Wetherspoons

Stopped serving me for no reason I wasn't causing any problems

My favourite Cider is now Koppaberg Sweet Vintage Pear. It is unlike any other Cider I have tasted. It has a dry taste and is served with ice and fruit at my local Spoons. Staff are always friendly here. Service is spot on and they keep the place nice and clean. Mr favourite food is Grilled Chicken Burger. The chicken is so tender, it almost melts in my mouth. Recommended.

You really can't beat a Spoons for the money, and this one is a fine example. I had half a roast chicken with gravy and chips, and it was all beautifully cooked and very tasty. Very attentive service, too.

Working in the area always find the nearest weatherspoons,this 1 is 1 of the best I've been in tables were cleared as soon people had finished eating/drinking,staff friendly (apart from the London one,joke)recommend this weatherspoons to anyone

Nice enough place for a cheap drink. Great staff, especially James and Alex.

I try to avoid going in these places but they do have their uses. The drinks are cheap and good quality but the food is always lukewarm, and the atmosphere is godawful.

This Wetherspoons is a hit or miss. We come here once a month, sometimes the food is gorgeous or other times the food is disgusting. The drinks are always good and the staff are always nice. But it’s the food that can let it down.

Service was fast, food was what you'd expect from a Spoons, if a little small for the sides. A good choice.

Having been a regular at this establishment for many years I can honestly say all the bad reviews were justified. Poor service, disinterested staff, table upon table full to the brim with empty plates /glasses, etc etc. However credit where credit's due, the staff are now on"the ball". The place is buzzing and not a dirty table or empty glass/plate. Must add excellent Bar and App service as well, what's not to like 👍

Weatherspoon is one of the most affordable pubs in the UK. Visited the calverts court for the first time on New year's day. It wasn't very crowded. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Tried the chicken wings for the first time. It was amazing, crisp, coated with some in-house spices that gave a hint of lemon and pepper. Had a few glasses of beer. Also tried vanilla ice cream with chocolate & toffee sauce and fruit salad with ice cream.

Use to be a really nice spoons but a few things have changed and sadly going down hill. Customer parking has been removed from the back of the pub and now only options are street parking for 1hour only. Many of the facilities in the men's toilets were broken. (locks on doors, toilet bowels leaking). Bar staff are friendly but security /door men rude. With a few other options for drinks on the same corner I personally would try elsewhere.

Breakfast was stone cold except for one item, the egg was solid and dried up, no butter with the toast altogether very poor ..

Big group of us in for food and drinks yesterday, food was great and we didn’t wait long despite how busy it was. Great customer service from Paul and Amy who really looked after us. Thanks guys. Recommend the mixed grill and hollumi fries

I’m really disappointed with the Xmas lunch it came and I wasn’t happy at all but I never said anything I started eating it and carrots and parsnips were hard also we’re was Yorkshires and roast potatoes there was also very little gravy on the dinner very disappointed

When here for Christmas Dinner today all veg was cold and hard to chew mash was only thing eatable no roast no sprouts no Yorkshire pudds little gravy so disappointed no stars.

Just called in while walking around Stockport, all staff where really helpful which today is really good to see, well done all. As usual all other aspects of spoons where spot on to.

I wasn't there for the food - I was there for the beer 😆 🤣 😂 Great service - Great beer prices - I had 2 pints of San Miguel refilled 2 - no 3 - no 4 times 😆 🤣 The bar was really busy last Friday night, 9/12/23!! It's still loads of space as this bar is really, really, in fact, it's well long Conveniently, there is a nice kebab shop over the road 😆

Garlic bread with cheese was like a piece of chewy cardboard. Only received 4 onion rings instead of 6. Tables quite close together and as the place was hammered, you felt like you were crammed in.

One of our favourite Wetherspoons as we know we get a good meal and we like the atmosphere. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is a good mix of people. This time we were here for Christmas dinner and it was fantastic! Definitely will be back for another soon. Cannot fault this place, sincere thanks!

Could not believe I was in a wetherspoons it is absolutely beautiful the food was amazing staff were so lovely and friendly would highly recommend to everyone who goes stockport centre.

Best place if you like hanging around in smoking areas and chatting rubbish to strangers like I do. Food is pretty decent. Downside is coming on a sober head can be overwhelming and it kinda stinks of old beer and cigarettes.

Good pub sometimes it gets really busy so takes awhile to get served. Staff are very friendly. Very well priced beers especially the Worthington at around £2 a pint at the moment.

We didnt eat this time but have eaten here many times. Its a typical Wetherspoons always busy.

All the usual wetherspoons fayre, nice outdoor drinking area and no stairs to the toilets!

Chips cold, bacon on top of chips over cooked. Food ( 3 for £15 ) took 45 minuets to arrive, nachos hardly any cheese but so much sour cream, halloumi fries you'd think couldn't go wrong but very over cooked and lacked any taste but can't complain on drinks prices

Your average weather spoons, foods of decent quality and the drinks come in a reasonable time.

Had a great drink and meal in this wetherspoons especially our server Millie who went out of her way to help us and other customers Well done 👌👍👏👏👏

Chicken burger and chips and two cokes were the order of the night as I was on my way to a meeting. Service was quick, no problems couldn't fault it (not that I wanted to).

A good size wetherspoons with plenty of tables. Clean and tidy with friendly bar staff.

Weatherspoons at calverts Court has a really nice atmosphere and can get very busy at the weekends. They have a nice range of drinks with seating outside both the front and rear and plenty of inside seating. The food is generally OK and there is a decent disabled toilet with enough space to safely manoeuvre a wheelchair. The majority of the staff are friendly and welcoming.

I have been to many weatherspoons all over the UK and I love this one. People are always really nice,friendly,helpful and kind. Meals were good and presentation was nice too. I like your deco too so it's a win win with such a good prices and service.

Ordered two burgers with chips and a soft drink for a fiver each! Helpful and friendly staff brought me condiments and were super happy even though we moved to more comfortable seats. Also ordered a hot chocolate and the hot chocolate machine wasn't working so I was brought a galaxy hot chocolate sachet - I couldn't be happier. Fantastic service, great staff, great atmosphere what more could you want. Special thanks to Peter and Steve for looking after us both.

Great place, good food great atmosphere, but cleaning tables and toilets needs to be a priority.

ordered steak pudding was rock ard overcooked dry peas were bone dried the gravy no more then a teaspoon full jacket potatoes were dry lettuce was overcooked salad was pure rocket ordered rocket elton john turned up

Ordered a small breakfast, fried egg I may as well have asked for a hard boiled one, hash brown could have been used as a doorstop, as for the bacon I think there is a cooking oil named after it, crisp and dry. what's that old saying ( you pay peanuts, you get monkeys).

Had a few beers in here on a Friday afternoon. It is what you would expect from a Weather's. Good prices and a fairly busy pub environment. If you want cheap and cheerful, then this is the place for you.

Came In today at around 12 I had terrible customer service by a young lady with long blond hair who literally threw my food onto my table witch half the plate went over the table then when I told one off the bar staff none came to apologise or got any sort of manager involved as I thought this was needed as this was very poor service I usually enjoy coming here won’t be returning

Accidentally duplicated our drinks order. Unfortunately the second order came with an alcoholic drink instead of alcohol free! We informed one of the staff Steve, we explained what had happened. Unfortunately my partner cannot drink. He was on it right away,couldn't do enough for us,exchanged the drink right away. Very impressive prompt,friendly service. Please give this colleague the recognition he deserves. Many thanks.

Standard Wetherspoons, bit of a sticky floor

I had the nices fried eggs with the veggie all day breakfast it was delicious.

There are something special in that place, very nice atmosphere, amazing food with the right price.

This is a large Wetherspoons location which is run well considering the number of customers frequenting the establishment. Town Centre !

Meals cold, dirty pots not moved till 5minutes before we left. Really wish we hadn't bothered....

Nice and easy place to eat with all the family, service spot on with no delays considering how busy it was.

Average food, average place. Second time I have gone and they have forgotten part of the order. Claimed it wasn't ordered and needed us to show the mobile phone order to prove it was and then super slow at correcting the issue.

I take my daughter there regularly for lunch. She has special needs and quite a few of the staff know her and stop to say hello, as happened earlier today. Food is as you'd expect and only a short wait

This is another spoons, the food is very good, and the ales on show good and prices cannot be beaten for either. Parking is a problem, entrance is for all people. There is seating outside. There was seating available. Staff were efficient. Well worth a visit. There is outside seating in a large at the rear of the spoons. Nothing really as changed, different ales for sale still at very competitive prices.

I went to this wetherspoons yesterday the food was fantastic yesterday i had 10oz gammon with jacket potatoe and my mother mix grill very nice and credit to the chef who was on duty approximately 5pm 1 of the waiters was outstanding rushing around doing everything a credit only downfall was i orderd a sirloin on the 17/08/2023 at about 6.00pm and the order was at least 35 minutes hardly anyone eating so why the delay the food was cold steak was poor and the shift worsened since we had been in since 2.00pm before we are not people who complain but it was as if the chef had gone home and the people who were left couldnt cope with cooking very sorry and shame but yesterday service excellent 1 star chef and 1 star waiter

The pub was a good, well-kept pub with a massive long room to drink and eat in This pub was well looked after gull of usual weatherspoon users The staff were ace eould have got 5 stars if the atmosphere today was better some locals a bit non friendly let me say!!! Good for a catch-up with friends in a relaxing atmosphere

I was on Stowford Press most of the night and had a chicken burger and chips. Service was fairly quick especially later when it was less busy.

As per usual, good value drinks from well know brands. On this occasion sadly our 2 chosen ones were out of stock, but like any good pub, we were offered the choice from the full range of higher priced beers for the same price, so we chose Wobbly Bob at 6%. Stronger than we normally consume on a session but a lovely pint. The outside area was spoiled somewhat by a father and young child playing football without a care for others. Some folk have no sense of good manners.

This is more the pub for socialists

Having looked at Tripadvisor reviews beforehand I came expecting the worst. How wrong was I?! Great place. Food really good and served very quickly. Cracking pint too! Place very clean. You can’t please come people!

If you like food from the microwave you’ll be fine.

Food not up to scratch, gravy tasted disgusting when it wasn't brought to you cold, curry sauce was brought cold and the mixed grill has made my husband ill. Staff werent that helpful won't be going here for food again, it's not the first time this has happened but it will definitely be our last as a family. Disappointing Wetherspoons!!

Service was reasonable and so was the price good quality food

I was looking forward to visiting my 350th wetherspoons, and the quality of the food and drink didn't disappoint. The small fish chips and garden peas with a very good Reverend James ales was 6.99. The portion wasn't small either. My sidekick had a very good naga chicken burger.
